What other ancient being is so accessible yet so powerful? What other enigma is desired as much as feared?

My thanks go to the publishers for the ARC of this book.

I have loved reading the anthologies that Pen and Kink have thrown my way previously. They always have a mixture of stories to suit and the best thing? They're all rolled up in one neat little book.

I also just have to point out that I love PNR and anything to do with vampires and the undead so after reading the blurb, knew this would be right up my alley.

Theres an eclectic array of stories to suit all vampire lovers and they range from mild to kind of horrific. You have your alien vampires, your run of the mill romantic vampires and then there are the vampires who simply kill humans for the sake of it. Each story has a different way of depicting their version of what they think a vampire is or how they should act etc.

It's not just the blood and gore side of things either, again each story has the romantic vibe, some more erotic than others and I kind of think this anthology works well like that so that maybe you're interested in a dark story but afterwards feel you need something to lighten your mood, then you have that range. Don't get me wrong though, these aren't sweet reads, they're not for the faint of heart, but, they are for those that are looking for something a little different and pardon the pun, something to 'sink your teeth into.'

Each time I see these anthologies put together, it really makes me smile, theyre stories that I can read over and over and that to me has winner on it. Look forward to more.

Happy Reading :-)

Hot. Intense. Wicked. Must read.

Sexy vampires. Snarky vampires. Space vampires. Yes, please! This anthology has them and more. Each story immerses the reader into a vivid new world. Fair warning, these are not cuddly vampires. Some are villains, while some are heroes, and some are a delicious touch of both. All are bloodthirsty and masters of desire.

Throughout Ravenous, not one story did I want to stop reading. Flawless pacing and tight writing filled with voice carried from one story to the next. It was a constant 'just one more' until I hit the end. I'm eager for more anthologies from this publisher.

This is definitely not my cup of tea. Having said that, I still have to say that it's well written and bravely sexual. As a group this is the best of this type of story. It is erotic, but escapes the poor writing that often plagues erotica. If you don't enjoy blatantly sexual stories--and enjoy descriptions of all kinds of sex--skip this one. But if that is your thing, then this will suit you very well.

Hot, sexy vampires... what's not to love?

The standout story was, by far, Forever Dead by Sara Dobie Bauer. I absolutely love the forbidden relationship between these two men. Dario is just... yum. I'd let him turn me. (Not that he would, that's not his style. But still, I'm going on record.)

If you like your vampires hot and the sex even hotter, then this is the collection for you.

The stories in this anthology consisted of so many different mixes that it would not be hard to find some that interest and excite you , The stories were magical, paranormal, sexy, and fun but they seemed to be over with way to fast, I wish a few of the stories would have been much longer. I look forward to reading more books by these authors. Thank you NetGalley and Ariel Jade for allowing me to read this in advance and write a honest review.

Ravenous is the second book in the Triskaidekaphilia Series and is a wonderful anthology of stories that all have the same theme and inspiration- Vampires. Each story is unique to the author, bringing a variety of different takes on the theme.
There are nine contributing authors whose tales range from sweet and sexy, to a little dark and kinky- but all of the nine fantastic stories kept me engrossed right till the end.
There is an interesting, kinky take on a Dom/Sub relationship, a vampire hunter love story with a bit of a twist; a sexy and erotic vampire space adventure; one that reads like a vampire coming of age story; and one that is an interesting re-imagining of the Cinderella fairy tale, with vampires taking the lead- and more.
So, if you enjoy paranormal stories, books of fantasy, vampires, romance, and something a little erotic- then this really is the book for you.

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

Eight stories from eight talented authors - this was such fun to read! Eight ideas and eight styles make this one of those collections that you have to keep reading because who knows what the next story will bring!

From a holiday to revolution, these stories will help you look at vampires in a whole new dark :-) I cannot say which is my favourite as all are entertaining and the 'Top Five Reasons Why I Like Vampires' by the editor wraps it all up nicely.

Recommended for adult readers looking for some vampire romance and intrigue.

Sex, romance, and vampires. What's not to love? This anthology was by far one of my hottest reads I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Each story grasps you by the heart and by the groin into a fantasyland of mystery and ecstacy. There are two stories of male on male love which weren't my favorites, but romance, like wine, can be appreciated in all flavors. The 2nd story I personally titled 50 shades of sun torture was very erotic. The hottest would have to be the 4th story, my lord. Each story unique with different variations of vampires entertain the imagination of the voyeur/reader. The characters are colorful and alluring. Even though each story is written by a seperate author, they all seem like it was written by one person and that may prove just how talented of an editor Ariel Jade is. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and I highly recommend it.

An anthology about vampires! What's not to love? There is literally a story for everyone in here. Don't like vampires? Thats cool. There's a story where they don't like you either. There's romance and mystery and all the other good things that go along with vampires all wrapped up in a neat little anthology. I can't really pick a favorite. I love each story for its own reasons

With the few reviews this book already had, I was expecting to love this collection of short stories. But I really didn't. In fact, I was kind of bored for most of them. While they each were varying degrees of interesting, none of them really sucked me into the story. And did I really need three pages or more of reading about a vampire giving some dude a shave? No. I didn't. So I skipped those. I did think they were all well written (except for "Light Play" because that one seemed choppy and awkward to me) with good characters though. Overall, this wasn't bad, but I guess it just wasn't quite what I was hoping for.

Ravenous is the second anthology in the Triskaidekaphilia series. It has eight delightful short stories. I love this anthology because the stories are a bit darker and unusual. Following are some of my favorites:

Light Play by Jaap Boekestein
I liked this story because it has a BDSM twist in that the Master is a human and the sub is a vampire. It is written in an intriguing way with the reader being the subject of the Master’s attention.

Forever Dead by Sara Dobie Bauer
I don’t often run across M/M stories in anthologies so this one was a great change of pace. A vampire hunter and a vampire rights activist in a secret relationship, what could go wrong? A stalking female vampire is all it takes to spice things up…but not in a good way. Will everything go to hell once their relationship goes public? Interesting story that makes a great escape from reality for a bit. This is probably my favorite story in the book.

Palladian Excursions by V. Hummingbird
This story follows a close second to Forever Dead. A newlywed couple decides to book a Palladian excursion for their honeymoon. They get to set off on an adventure into the stars with an alien vampire as their host. They get to see all kinds of interesting sights, be treated with luxury, and have the experience of a lifetime, all in exchange for a little blood.
The boundaries were set in the beginning, but Virgil is so tempting. Evelinna accidentally walks in on Virgil and Kayson in a compromising position. Even though Evelinna has fallen in love with Virgil, she decides she can’t share Kayson with him so she cuts the trip short. Only after they are back on Earth do they realize that neither one of them can move on without Virgil so they set off to find him.

The Eyes of a Stranger by R. Michael Burns
A vampire artist of the macabre stalks an unsuspecting woman…or so he thinks. He asks her to pose for a painting and she agrees to go back to his studio. Together they create a stunning masterpiece, and then she reveals that she knows what he is and begs him to turn her. I like the way this story is written, in such a way that there is this fine line of falling into the darkness…and leaves the question of which darkness is worse.

A Taste of Revolution by Tiffany Michelle Brown
An interesting twist on the tale of Cinderella. I found it amusing as the heroine is spunky and not the normal Cinderella type.
When humans find out about vampires, the vampires agree to segregate themselves and form their own leadership. The king and queen are staunch in their beliefs that vampires should switch to synthetic blood. Anyone who is perceived to be a threat to the new way of life is executed and their heads are put up on a pike outside of the castle.
In order to appear less threatening, it has been decreed that all vampires must form families. Jules is taken in by a woman named Lavinia and her maker, Cassandra. Being a chemist, Jules specializes in creating gourmet “blood.” Cassandra tolerates her because the income from the synthetic blood is increasing her ability to live in luxury.
When it is announced that the Prince is going to be choosing a mate at the Crimson Moon Ball, Lavinia receives and invitation but Jules does not. Jules gives Lavinia the required blood to get entrance to the ball, but Lavinia accidentally leaves a vial behind. Jules heads toward the castle to slip her sister the blood but ends up in a confrontation with the Prince. Surprisingly the Prince agrees with Jules that it is time for the vampires to take back the night and they both end up on the wanted list. On the run, but still determined to conquer the kingdom, they hatch a plot to overthrow the king and queen.

Ravenous by Ariel Jade is the second book in the Triskaidekaphilia series. Each short story is centered around the same theme, vampires. I was so impressed by each authors take on vampires. You grow up with ideas of what vampires are from stories like Dracula or from Halloween figures, but each author sprinkles in their own twist. The relationships in each story were unique as well. At the end of each story I was looking for more and more. I found myself falling in love with characters that are supposed to be feared because of who they are. Ariel Jade did a wonderful job of putting together 8 stories that were unique in their own ways.

The first story in Ravenous is We’ll Always Have Rome by Wendy Nikel. Theo is a vampire café owner who brews more than just beans. With the city’s new Van Helsing Division on the hunt for any vampires, an antidote that will turn vampires into humans causes an old love interest to walk into Theo’s café. Pheobe Fischer with her husband Cabolt are on the hunt for the antidote so that Cabolt can become governor and look after his kind. As Pheobe tries to convince Theo to give them the antidote they begin to reminisce about their past. As things take a turn for the worst, Pheobe and Theo realize that though they may not have each other, they will always have Rome.

Light Play by Jaap Boekestien is written as if the reader is the main character. The relationship in this story deals with the main character, who is a vampire, and her immortal Master. This dominate-submissive relatioship use BDSM and light to create quite an electrifying experience. The light creates pain that the vampire cannot help but find to be ecstasy.

Forever Dead by Sara Dobie Baur was my favorite story out of Ravenous. This story is centered around a 10-year complicated relationship between a vampire hunting detective Zach and a vampire rights advocate Dario. There is a lot of time spent in the beginning of the story explaining their long history. The author uses flashbacks so that the reader can go back in time to influential moments in the main characters’ relationship. Zach and Dario must be keep their love a secret because both would loose credibility among their peers and they would become soft spots for any enemy that would enter into their lives. When a female vampire Clara kidnaps Dario, it leaves Zach with no choice but to fight for the one he loves.

Sweeter Than Blood by Dale Cameron Lowry deals with a barber vampire Keith who has to deal with controlling himself in his line of work. Keith’s friend John, who turned him, tries to talk Keith out of the barbershop to relieve some of the temptation. Keith does not want to admit to John that the reason he stays at the barbershop is because of a love interest for one of his clients, Andres. As Andres and Keith explore their draw towards one another, things take a turn for the worse. Keith finds comfort with John, which may have ignited an old flame.

The final story in Ravenous is A Taste of Revolution by Tiffany Michelle Brown. The vampires in this story are forced to stay in a territory of their own. They have a royal family and royal court that rule over all of the vampires. A synthetic blood chemist Jules finds herself wishing for the olden days when vampires ran among the humans and could hunt them freely. Jules stands up to Prince Fabian and finds out that she isn’t the only one longing for the past. Prince Fabian, who is actually in imposter by the name of Carlos works with Jules to attempt a revolution. As they plan for their revolution, they cannot help but start to have feelings for one another.

This is a well put together anthology of eight vampire-themed stories. They run the gambit of heat levels (chaste kissing to smut on the page), genre (Sci-Fi, drama, action, etc), and kink. None of the writing quality was lacking and there were no distracting editing or proofreading issues. Overall this was a fun and quick read.

What follows if a brief recap and my thoughts on each of the enclosed stories.
“We’ll Always Have Rome” by Wendy Nikel – what I would think of a spin off on a second chance romance premise. I found myself having difficulties connecting to the female protagonist in this story, but the male protagonist was multidimensional and won over my heart with the ending. M/F

“Light Play” by Jaap Boekestein – a vampiric version of BDSM kink that I thought was very original and well thought out. I connected to the protagonist and was there with her throughout the pleasure play and submission. M/f

“Forever Dead” by Sara Dobie Bauer – opposites attract and they fall hard. Their romps are quick, dirty, and hot and often throw in a bit of property damage. In this vampire hunter/vamp love story, love can conquer all. Both of these protagonists were believable, relatable, and multi-dimensional and their very romantic rough-and-tumble love story was IMHO of epic proportions. This was my favorite story in the book, one I will flag to re-read. I look forward to more from this author. M/M

“In a Quiet Village” by Violet R. Jones – this reminded me of the Vamps of yore…the unknown, mysterious, and pale undead that prey on attractive virgins etc. Although entertaining, the characters in this story stayed relatively one dimensional. I didn’t find myself immediately connecting to them and their plight, but the plot and action kept me reading through to the end. M/F

“Palladian Excursions” by V. Hummingbird – vampire alien tour guides and couples romantic vacation exploring the galaxy. Great plot with a fun take on this idea. The conflict was a bit forced and silly to me, but I was invested enough in the idea and story to finish it. It felt a bit rushed at the end. M/F M/M/F

“Sweeter Than Blood” by Dale Cameron Lowry – this read almost like a coming of age vamp story. The protagonist is a vampire who is not all that pleased with his undead status but comes to find himself and reignite his passions for both love and living by the end of one steamy misadventure. The author does a great job of connecting the reader to the protagonist and keeping the tension high. M/M

“The Eyes of a Stranger” by R. Michael Burns – The writing style of this story read a bit more literary to me and I had a hard time following the real conflict, the whys of what happened didn’t click for me. I loved the idea of a brooding vampire artist finding his muse. The internal struggle and drama that ensued kept my attention but isn’t something I’d read a second time. M/F

“A Taste of Revolution” by Tiffany Michelle Brown – The longest story in the book also happens to have a feisty and surprising kick-ass chemist heroine, so not a surprise that I enjoyed this story. The protagonist has a great voice, acts and reacts in a mostly believable fashion, and the plot held my attention until about 60% through. Then the story got a bit too contrived for me. Still an enjoyable read with good action and characters. M/F

I received an advanced review copy of the ebook version in exchange for an honest review.

a spectacular collection of vampire stories. We'll Always Have Rome starts off the collection with its sense of nostalgia as two vampires are reunited in a coffee shop when her husband seeks the illegal cure for being a vampire. Light Play continues the struggles of vampires with a woman receiving sex and blood from her mortal master. Forever Dead, arguably the best of this collection, illustrates the homosexual relationship between a vampire and a vampire hunter against a society of divisions and battles between vampires and vampire hunters. In A Quiet Village portrays the damsel in distress of the vampire genre and makes her more feminist to make her own choice of being bitten and joining vampires. Palladium Excursions delightfully experiments by intertwining science fiction and vampires together. In this story, a newlywed couple take a vampire guide with them to travel across the universe who also makes love with them. Sweeter thab blood continues the theme of homosexual vampires in a barbershop. The Eyes of A Stranger describes a vampire who is an artist who wishes to preserve models beauty in art before biting them and turning them into vampires. Finally, a taste of Revolution describes a hierachal vampire society that is turned on its head in a revolution to allow vampires to drink human blood again.
a fabulous compilation. each short story was well written with well developed characters in both human and vampires. I was unsure whether the Five Things I Love About Vampires needed to be included as it felt like a strange addition to the end of the selection. I felt that it could have concluded with the Taste of Revolution story Apart from this, an excellent selection of stories of vampires in conflict with themselves and their desires.
I absolutely adored the Forever Dead story with two people from different sides falling in love despite what society thinks. their love in the end unites them and makes the description of Zach's eyes more beautiful. I liked how they were trying to unite their divided society and the references to Romeo and Juliet. I also enjoyed the mixture of vampiricism and science fiction spaceships and travel on different worlds in Palladium Excursions. The fantasy worlds and the interior of the speceships had beautiful visual detail which I enjoyed immensely. I also liked the combination of a coffee shop of realism and the vampires of fantasy in We'll Always Have Rome. Overall, a wonderful compilation of stories that Ariel Jade should be very proud of and I would give it five stars.

Vampires have always been my guilty pleasure, they’re sexy, deceitful, dangerous and not to mention, I have never “met” a vampire that didn’t have a great back story! Despite my interest in vampires, I have never indulged in a collection such as this, but in the spirit of Halloween I figured I would give it a go.
Ravenous exceeded all of my expectations. With a collection of different stories I had expected there would be one or two that just doesn’t cut it for me, but in all honesty I loved them all. While every story left something different, there were a handful that stood out the most.
We’ll Always Have Rome- While I wasn’t sure if I was “missing something” at the beginning of this story I found myself enjoying it as it picked up, by the end I was a bit surprised and certainly ready to see what the rest of the collection had to offer.
Forever Dead- This story was definitely one of my favorites, it incorporated all of the vampire elements I know and love, forbidden love, action, suspense, danger without feeling too predictable. I felt a connection with the characters as though I had been reading about them for chapters and chapters. Such a good read.
Palladian Excursions- While there was a sexual element that I am used to in most vampire stories, it was different to me. I had never experienced anything quite like this story, or a vampire quite like Virgil. The story was definitely well written and sparked curiosity in just how many different types of vampires I was missing out on by depriving myself of such collections.
A Taste of Revolution- When I came to this story I had just looked ahead to see how many pages I could sneak in, I made note that it was the longest in the collection and expected it to pack less of a punch than the other, shorter stories I had just read. Two or three pages in I realized how wrong my assumption had been. A Taste of Revolution provided suspense as well as a couple twists I didn’t see coming. Certainly a five star story.
I can’t emphasize enough how much I enjoyed Ravenous, it introduced me to a whole new world of vampires, and styles of writing.

Ravenous by Ariel Jade
4 Stars

People have always been intrigued and enthralled with vampires. They are romantic, sexy and hot. They are also dangerous, evil and ravenous. The idea of being immortally young and beautiful is something many people fantasize about. Whatever your fetish may be, this compilation of short stories will surely satisfy you. I found these stories hot and intense. Each story was very different from the next which constantly kept you wanting more. Though each story was short, they packed a punch. All the vampires in these stories are bloodthirsty and will do anything to attain their desires.

My favourite story by far had to be In a Quiet Village. It took place in the Olsen days, I’m assuming in puritan times when they firmly believed in the devil. The evil creeping in to steal a girl’s innocence. This girl was not so innocent. It was a story about what is forbidden yet tempting. It was extremely hot and to the point. A very exciting story.

Although I don’t usually read male on male stories, I enjoyed Forever Dead. It shows that love knows no bounds. A vampire hunter and a vampire in love. Two sexy men who love each other and would do anything to protect one another even put themselves at death’s door.

Another good one was A Taste of Revolution. Vampires revolting against their monarchs and the human race. It was full of danger, betrayal and death. With sexy vampires and excitement, this could have been turned into a full length novel.

The editors did an amazing job compiling these stories into one book. There is something for everyone’s taste. A must read!

I won an ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy] mobi.file for this book, from the book’s editor Ariel Jade, and the following is my opinion.

As the title for this anthology suggests, the stories in this anthology have been brought together to satisfy the fondness, or to be more succinct to satisfy the almost abnormal love readers have for a specified genre of stories, and in book’s case it would be more stories involving vampires.

The vampires in these stories span a wide variety of these creatures, they can be anything from the worst kind of boys possible to the ultimate kind of femme fatale; individuals who can both mesmerize and repulse us simultaneously.

Let us not forget that throughout history they’ve been akin to the infamous Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; sweet/innocent one moment and a notorious scoundrel the next, and then back again.

Reading the stories in this anthology takes the reader in their world, a world where vampires and their hunters come together for some prohibited love making, a world where their threesomes can be found in unusual places, a world where only they can enjoy certain kinks none of us could.

If you enjoy a wide variety of vampire tales, then you’ve found your treasure chest of 9 of them here in this collection, a collection to which I’ve given 5 STARS to each of their authors and the stories they’ve given us.

Remember to keep your crosses and garlic gloves as close to you as possible, should they happen to appear as your read these tales.

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2)
by Wendy Nikel (Author), Jaap Boekestein (Author), Sara Dobie Bauer (Author), Violet R. Jones (Author), V. Hummingbird (Author), Dale Cameron Lowry (Author), R. Michael Burns (Author), Tiffany Michelle Brown (Author), Ariel Jade (Editor)
5 out of 5 stars

The anthology Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) is a wonderful group of stories all about vampires. They are mysterious creatures that I always love reading about. They are brooding, sometimes violent, and alluring. I loved reading each and every story and in some cases wished the stories were just a little longer. There are vampires who start a revolution, travel to different planets, and are falling in love. You read how some of them are conflicted on if they should change the object of their affections and how some humans seek them out. Vampires are able to offer something that most humans would want, immortality. They themselves sometimes find they are tortured by the loss of humanity that they have experienced by being turned. One of the reasons that I enjoy reading anthologies is that I find new stories all in one book and also new authors to read. These authors have created stories that are amazing. I highly recommend this anthology for anyone who loves reading about vampires. This group of stories does include mature subject matter and very steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

This was a really great selection of stories featuring vampires. There was such good mix of stories that there is definitely something for everybody in this anthology. They were all well written although I wish some of them had lasted longer as I was completely hooked into them. The pace and flow to each story was really good. Whilst I favoured some stories over others I still think they were a good collection. Most of the authors were new to me so it was great to get a read of some of their work and I will definitely be looking up some of them to read more of their stories. We had space travelling vampires, romantic vampires and vampires into BDSM. One of my favourites was Light Play by Jaap Boekestein told in the third person and I don’t usually like this style of writing but it really suited this story. I found it really well written and highly erotic! I actually really like that it was a male author too. A really good story – I definitely could have read more of this authors writing!
Due to the nature of the content of this anthology I would recommend it is only for mature readers. Any PNR or vampire lover will find something in this anthology to enjoy – I know I did!

The anthology Ravenous ( Triskaidekaphilia Book 2 ) is by a wonder group of authors all about Vampires.I absolutely love everything about Vampires especially reading about them.i am absolutely infatuated with them and have been for years. This anthology was wonderfully written and put together. .They are a little violent at times but brooding, alluring to.Each story drew me in and in some cases with a few of the stories I didn't want it to finished I was hoping for just a little more. Some of these vampires  travel to planets, start revolutions and some are even falling in love. With each story you get something a little different than the last.and that is one reason why I love anthologies, not only do you get a bunch of awesome authors together but you get there fantastic stories as well. Some of the authors I've read other books by and some are new to me authors and  that draws me to them and their other stories. I enjoyed this anthology and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I do recommend reading this anthology especially if you like vampires.

Love Good Vampire Stories!!
Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) By Wendy Nickel,Jaap Boekestein, Sara Dobie Bauer, Violet R. Jones, V. Hummingbird, Dale Cameron Lowry, R. Michael Burns, Tiffany Michelle Brown, Ariel Jade is an anthology of vampire stories. Each story is very well written and I enjoyed reading them all. Vampires are so mysterious and will steal your heart. They are devious creatures that want blood but I for one think that they also want love. In one story the vampire loves a certain detective but how does he feel about the one thing he is supposed to kill? Will the femme fatale get the detective for herself? Another one tells about a young girl and the pale man that sneaks into her bedroom but will her parents allow this? Can a vampire be change back to human? Read this and you will see if true love prevails. These vampires have lived for centuries and changed many human into vampires and some use the humans as food. I know these creatures are monsters but I couldn’t help the draw the vampire’s story had on me. Each and every story has a bite to it and so much more!
The stories are very well written and I didn’t want to stop until the anthology ended. All the authors are very talented with telling the vampire story! I truly enjoyed each one and I would recommend this anthology to anyone over the age of 18. Beware there is hot sex in this anthology.

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) Edited by Ariel Jade

5 Stars

I was in Vampire heaven!!! I love to read anything vampire and this book certainly filled this love! This book is full of short stories by vairous authors. All of them are unique in their own way and all have a unique perspective into the world of the vampire. Each author has thier own writing style and way to spin the story.

My absolute favorite though would have to be the short story Light Play by Jaap Boekestein. The story is told via third person and is the first of this type that I have read but really enjoyed it. This is a creative way that the author uses this prose to tell the story painting a very vivid picture in your imagination. I will say it might not be everyones cup of tea being BDSM based but I found it to be quite the page turner.

Each short story though is worthy of a 4-5 star on their own. I found myself wanting more and continuing on to the next story not wanting to stop reading!

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) by edited by Ariel Jade and with contributions from Wendy Nikel, Jaap Boekestein, Sara Dobie Bauer, Violet R. Jones, V. Hummingbird, Dale Cameron Lowry, R. Michael Burns, and Tiffany Michelle Brown. This is a collection of stories about vampires that are sweet, sexy, naughty, and love that is just forbidden. These authors have created stories that will fit anyone's tastes for vampires. They will pull you in their worlds of outer space, revolutions and just plain falling in love. Some of the stories will leave you wanting more while others will leave you needing ice water to cool off. One of my favorite genes is vampires and this one is at the top of my list. I love vampire stories, they are strong characters with some feisty, attitudes, and take control. You will find these types of characters and more in these stories. I highly recommend this anthology, I know you will want to see what happens when vampires and hunters meet. You don't want to miss these stories!

I give Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia, book 2) by Ariel Jade 5 stars.

The was an amazing anthology. Yes, it’s about vampires. Yes, they all revolve around romance. But these things have been done in anthologies before. This book has decided it doesn’t want to be just another vampire romance anthology. And this is exactly where it excels. There are all different kinds of romance angles, some you may not have even thought of. Some are darker, some rise from dark circumstances. Maybe a few have a happy ending. I want you to be pleasantly surprised as I was, so I don’t want to give anything away.

I can’t say I have heard of these authors before and I absolutely loved every one of them. This is odd for me, there is usually at least one story I don’t care too much for. A Taste of Revolution was probably my favorite and I would love to see those characters again. But as I said before, each and every one was different and amazing. I highly recommend this book to those who like their vampire love a little different than the norm.

Ravenous is the second book in the Triskaidekaphilia Series from Ariel Jade, Wendy Nikel, Jaap Boekestein, Sara Dobie Bauer, Violet R. Jones, V. Hummingbird, Dale Cameron Lowry, R. Michael Burns and Tiffany Michelle Brown. This anthology was definitely something different from what I normally read, but it was perfect for this time of year and a great take on this popular vampire genre. It was a great 4 star read.

Vampires are constantly changing through out history and adapting to different generations. Sometimes they are bad boys and others are seducing sirens, but then there are others who are just plain monsters. What's not to love about these mysterious creatures? This anthology will take you all over, there's forbidden love stories and kink only a vampire could love. What else can these vampires get into?

This anthology was very good and perfect for this time of year. The writing was truly engaging and will keep readers on their toes!

Normally, short story anthologies don’t do it for me. I get too invested in the short stories, and then they are ripped away from me mercilessly. This short story anthology is another one of those. I love vampires, I love the stories about them, and I loved these short stories. However, after reading each one, i craved more. Especially with the alien vampire short story, I really wanted to read more. I have to tip my hat to all the authors and the editor for putting together such a brilliant work of literature. These short stories did everything I wanted them to do - they hooked me, they held me, and they left me wanting more. I will gladly read more of these vampire anthologies, especially the steamy kind. The final short story was my favorite - it really drew me in, and the characters were fleshed out.
It ended too quickly, but for a short story it was a good cliff hanger. Extremely well done

Ravenous by Ariel Jade is a good anthology of sorts that gives the reader a taste of various short stories about vampires that is sure to sate anyone’s blood lust. The great thing about each of these stories is that not all of them are about the blood and gore, but some include more romance, more suspense or even flat out mysteries. That is what is great about vampire themed novels, depending on the time that the main character became a vampire the story can be taken so many different ways. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for paranormal romance, especially if it is written with the correct historical contexts. This book delivered allot fo that for me and still brought in some erotica and sweetheart romance too. I can’t wait to see if there are more books in this series, Triskaidekaphilia, or not but so far I am in love.

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia) book two, edited by Ariel Jade is an awesome anthology about vampires! Each of these stories bring something different to the table and I enjoyed everyone one of them. There is forbidden love, steamy moments, dark moments, space travel, and so much more. There were some stories that ended too soon for me I wanted to keep on going because they were so captivating! I truly enjoyed reading this book, I love vampire stories anyway but this book took it to a new level!!! I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite, but I will say that I really enjoyed Forever dead, I liked the emotion and the the story line very much. I don't usually read anthologies but this one was amazing and has made me realize that I will definitely be reading one again. I highly recommend this book, if you like vampires and everything that entails you will love this book.

Jade's curation understands that vampire fiction thrives on contradiction: the creature who both stalks and protects, fascinates and repels, offers intimacy through violation. The nine contributors deliver genuine range, from forbidden hunter love to zero-gravity threesomes to kink that only centuries of existence could refine. What elevates this anthology is the refusal to flatten vampires into single archetype; they appear here as bad boys, seductresses, monsters, each story honoring the enigma without exhausting it. The garlic warning serves as playful acknowledgment that even curated darkness retains teeth. At 202 pages, the collection achieves concentration without dilution, each tale adding distinct texture to the overarching hunger. A sophisticated, sensual gathering for readers who remember that vampires were dangerous before they were romantic

This collection was not something I would normally read. The stories fit together as a collection. The short stories are fast paced. Some plot points were predictable but not in a way that would keep you from continuing the read.

However if you don’t like vampires (or anything to do with them) or sex (and about anything to do with that) this will not be something you will enjoy.

Regardless this collection will not bore you. If you enjoy this that go bump in the night, and the bumping, this is a must read.
