How do you survive a broken spirit and shattered heart? How do you convince yourself the man you love isn’t as cruel as the man who haunts your every thought? Serenity’s been abducted, abused, and forced to carry around a feeling of filth. As the wounds on her body begin to heal, and the scars left behind began to fade, she continues to fight for a love she’s always believed in, but not all love stories have happy endings. Taz will do anything to keep Serenity away. While he continues to hide a past no one knows about, Serenity is busy imagining their future. There is only one sure-way to crush any hope she has. His words were meant to hurt her, so why does a light inside him fade out when they work? How do you win back the love of an angel you’re not sure you deserve? How do you not compare yourself to a monster when you realize you’ve done what Slasher never could? Serenity’s broken, and I’m the one to blame. *WARNING***WARNING***WARNING*** Some of the violent scenes in the book are graphic, so if this could be a possible trigger for you, please DO NOT read this book. Slasher is EVIL “-as are other characters-”, and Serenity is a VICTIM. Abuse against women is mentioned. While this story is make-believe, let’s keep in mind it was not written by Disney, no hearts and rainbows to be found. ALSO, there may be a CLIFFHANGER, as this is a series and I like for all my books to come together with a BIG-PLOT. Enjoy!
Dusty Lassetter was born and raised in Texas, and is currently residing in Van, Texas. She is twenty-seven years old and married with four children, that people mistake for twins often. This is her first series to write, and self-publish. She enjoyed reading so much, she decided to take a chance at creating her own story.
Taz & Serenity's story, with an added bonus of getting to see into the twisted fu*ked up mind of Slasher!!!
Serenity and Taz went through some seriously messed up sh*t, that would be hard for anyone to overcome. And Taz turning into a serious a**hole before learning to pull his head out sure as h*ll didn't help Serenity deal with what happened.
I have to say this book was good, it had grit, some serious hot scenes, the broody a**hole alpha biker, and let's not forget the icing on the cake, the awesome look into the deranged mind of Slasher. Wow that man has some serious mommy issues! And that is all I will say in regards to that psycho!
I would definitely recommend this for anyone that enjoys the MC genre, but make an sure you head the warnings, because of you are someone that enjoys a "safe" read then this book is definitely NOT for you. But if your like me and LOVE your books darker and grittier then his is most definitely the book for you!
I am so hoping for Teller's story next but I have a feeling Dusty Lassetter is gonna make us wait for that one! Oh well either way I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!
This series is definitely not for the faint of hearted. It's very dark so be warned before picking it up, tons of triggers. I am loving this series. Definitely NOT fluffy material for sute. And just going to put this out here that Slasher is a sick twisted POS!! Loving the series so into book three. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
Sweet hell. This series is getting good. It picked up where the last one left off. It stalled a little for me in the middle but the bonus story giving insight into Slasher and the why that all this is happening...yeah that stuff was like crack.
Taz and Serenity story broke my heart. First love, pain, heartache, and friendship all in one powerful story. Taz left me wanting more of this series. Never a lull in the storyline. All I can say is buckle up it is one heck of a read.
4 gritty stars More..... i need the next book as soon as possible. Discovered the author from a recommendation, im now following, recommending and waiting for more...
**note authors warning on this book, definitely not sunshine & rainbows**
Taz is the second book in the tarnished souls MC series and what a ride it was! This is Taz and Serenitys story and boy did these guys have go through an emotional roller coaster. There's pain, heartache, love, loss and the journey they take from hell & back is rough! This is a powerful story, it's dark, it's raw and most importantly shows us how love can overcome all. If I was you I'd put this series on your 'one to watch' list asap. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Didn't care for this one. Typical Taz loved Serenity but couldn't be with her. So he screwed club whores where she could see. Why not be discreet--especially if you know she likes you. After they are rescued she goes to his room and hides in his closet. He brings back a club whore. I thought after their ordeal he'd keep it in his pants but I guess he wasn't planning on that. At the strip joint he attempted to schedule a blow job but that didn't work out. I didn't like how he called Serenity a whore for what she did to save him. I know he technically didn't mean it but she was not in a good mental state. Cliffhanger

Dark twisted and beautiful all mixed together! I love serenity’s strength and devotion; taz is a wounded soul but love prevails in destiny.. awesome read, some spelling errors but great anyway
Taz and Serenity. Wow! There is so much to this story. Forgiveness between two broken people. A crazy psycho in the mix. An unknown traitor. Can't wait for the next book.
It was a great read. Loving this series. It has a dark story line but that suits me just fine. Can't wait for more books in this series. Rated very good
I had to put the book down a couple of times but not because it wasn't a good read. The beginning was a little dark and I needed to take a break but it didn't make me not want to finish it. This is the first book I've read by Dusty Lassetter and I can honestly say it won't be the last.
This is a very well constructed series and I am very pleased I stumbled across it. My one minor irritation is in the use of commas: there are everywhere except pretty much where they should be. The don't impact on the sense of the story as long as you ignore them. It's something good beta readers should have picked and so should the editor. Both books suffer the same problem. Characters are strong and do fight for each other and they definitely belong together. Eagerly waiting g for the next book..
