I’m about to find out just what it means to be an angel chained in hell. Captured and auctioned off to the highest bidder, I had no choice but to put my faith in the hands of a man I’ve spent my career trying to put away. Breaker Goldman. He’s going to show me just what a man like him plans to do with all his newfound freedom—and his newfound prisoner.
ANGEL With a name like Angel, you better believe I’ve been determined to be somebody’s demon. I guess it’s no surprise I ended up becoming a cop like my father.
That was where I met Breaker. I’d tried to put him away three times already, but nothing’s ever stuck.
Until I find myself waking up somewhere I don’t know. And suddenly Breaker was the only one who could save me.
But judging from the way he’s looking at me, he’s not doing this out of the goodness of his heart. He wants to save me so he can use me, bend me, and if it comes to it—break me.
And something tells me that he’ll make me enjoy every moment of being his prisoner.
BREAKER Gambling, racing, and incredible good-looks—the playboy life has gotten me this far, and I have no intention of slowing my roll. I‘ve sampled every sin and every forbidden taste—all except one. I’ve never bought anyone at an auction, and she’s about to be my first.
My former arresting officer—Angel Greer.
Call it irony, call it coincidence. But once I saw her up on that block, all I could hear was the sound of opportunity.
This is my chance to get even. A chance to turn the table on her and show her what being captive really means.
Captive is a full-length, standalone romance novel with steamy hot sex, NO CHEATING, strong language, a happily every after ending and NO CLIFFHANGERS. Contains dark and disturbing themes, and over the top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers.
That was a different storyline, police officer finds herself drugged and autioned, sold to a man she has arrested a few times, what happens next you wouldn't expect.
I voluntarily read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. The story of Angel and Breaker is a fast paced intriguing read. Angel is a cop and Breaker is a low level criminal who Angel has arrested previously, their paths cross once again but in very different circumstances. This is a book that grabs your attention from the first page and is impossible to put down until the end. Five star read.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review. This was a good read, cop vs con man. But this time con man just might be her saving grace. Angel wakes up in a cell to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. She is drugged and brought out in front of a bunch of men playing cards, and there is where she sees Breaker. Breaker is surprised to see what is going on when he is just there to play poker. This is a good read on how Angel and Breaker come together to fight sex trafficking and maybe find love.
Angel, a cop, finds herself in a completely new and unfamiliar territory when she awakes confused, lethargic, and totally unaware of her surroundings.
Breaker couldnt believe the luck he was having at the card tables, nor his eyes when on stage was none other than "the cop" whose arrested him 3 times Angel.
Can Angel & Breaker trust each other long enough to come together for a common goal, or will Angel run the first chance she gets, n Breaker prove he really is the criminal she keeps arresting.
Another well written story by Kathryn Thomas. This story may have triggers for some readers. She was a cop that had arrested him before, he was the biker that saved her. They found common ground, that grew into so much more. A wonderful read!
Angel is the daughter of a cop. She is also a cop. When she was out on patrol one night she is kidnaped and auctioned off into sex trafficking. And she knows the person that buys her. Breaker she has arrest him 3 times before. She can't fathom how her life is going to change. She finds a new passion, love and more about her dad.
Both books were good reads. The first book kind of felt Ike they were trying to make a criminal a bad boy. I still enjoyed it even though he wasn't really hard or dark. The second book was not really dark either, but the story was very good. Very much so worth the read.
