For Isabel, art is her one saving grace from a life of cruelty and abuse. Bored with conventional sex and unfulfilling relationships, she looks to her own creativity to find an outlet for her secret desires. Introverted, self-critical, yet spirited, she yearns for love, acceptance, and control. For Dylan, the answer to his control issues and sadistic fantasies waits for him within the walls of the Dark Asylum. Seeking redemption for his overwhelming guilt and sadness over the loss of his parents, he immerses himself completely in the worlds of art and BDSM with voracious passion.Beginning on the night of the fated Studio 210 gallery show that steers Dylan toward the love of his life, this prequel highlights the years prior to meeting his soulmate and own little artist with a hidden dominant streak—Mistress Isabel. That very same night forever changes Isabel's future, as well, and leads her to the man who will capture her heart, dominate her world, and ultimately give her complete control.*Can be read before The Art of D/s Rewritten Trilogy (Submission, Domination, Control), but contains mild spoilers.* Contains mild BDSM and situations that may trigger past memories of abuse. Intended for adult readers aged 18+
Ella is a self-proclaimed lover, dreamer, and wanderer who is unequivocally obsessed with ukuleles and unicorns. She is a respiratory therapist by day and a writer by night. While she refuses to be confined by genre labels, she believes her talent best lies in writing passion-filled, ethnically diverse, suspenseful novels. More of an avid reader than an author, she is committed to writing the stories that the characters in her head tell her to.

And so their story begins…
Soul bearing, soul undressed. That's what I'd always thought about this trilogy. And this prequel is exactly what you expect and more.
Even though we got little glimpses for Isa's and Dylan's pasts, we can go deeper and meaner in this last book, where both of them are finding themselves, all in dark places, in obscure ones, and lonely ones.
Tortured souls are meant to be found some comfort on each other. Just that they don't now yet.
If you expect a novel with a lot and meaningless sex, this book isn't for you. If you expect a book with depths and emotions, I strongly suggest you to go for it! I really enjoyed how Ms. Dominguez's prelude to this book, which has not meant to be read before, but after the 3 books.
This is a novella filled with answers for those that are already Ella Dominguez fans and a great starter for those that just found her.
Isa grabbed my heart in The Art of D/s and hasn't let go. With similar personal struggles, I loved reading about her strength to pack up and make a new life, a better life, where she is able to be in control and enjoy her art. It's not without challenges, but fate is working some magic!
Dylan is an interesting character, with many hard life experiences behind him. He's been burned and in some ways abandoned. Although he know what's missing from his life, he keeps his armor on and lives in a lackluster world until fate steps in to change his plans.
My favorite quotes from this novella -
"What are you afraid of, Mr. Young?"
"Knowing your fears means knowing your limits."
I highly recommend this book as a beginning, or ending, to The Art of D/s.
This book was provided to me by the author with a request for an honest opinion.
I read Redemption, the prequel to The Art of D/s Trilogy, when it first came out, in the first person point and loved it. I never thought I could love the rewrite more, but I do. Ella Dominguez, sticks to the original story line, with Redemption, adding a different point of view, from first person to third person. The change in the point of view that the story is told adds a slightly different feel to the book that brings extra more enjoyment to the read. Redemption, tells the stories of Dylan young and Isabella Izbanna, before they met. Dylan Young, is a young and upcoming business man, haunted by the demons of this past. Dylan is coming out of a relationship, that not only destroyed his faith in other people, but has forced him to turn his back on the one of his greatest passions in life, the BDSM Lifestyle. Isabella Izbana, is a young , undiscovered artist, running from an abusive past. Isa's, one passion is her art. Her art pieces reflect a part of her, she's missing, and longing for, that she have yet to discover, BDSM lifestyle. Redemption, has all the heat that you come to expect from an Ella Dominguez read. Ella mastered the art of writing super kinky and sensual scenes to pull you and leaving wanting more. The story captures the pain that Dylan and Isa are feeling in the their lives and make you anxious to see them reach their HEA. I can't wait for the completion of the other books in The Art of D/s to revisit the full story of Dylan and Isabella again.
Finally the beginning story of Isa and Dylan!!!!!!
Redemption paints a picture of two shatter souls journey to survive the nightmares of their past while trying to find a future.
I loved to see what struggles that brought Dylan and Isa to where they were in the The Art of D/s Trilogy.
Dylan's rise to Dom and crash back to the vanilla world, Isa escape from a control mad man only to be victimized yet again. Their paths are now set to cross and lead us to the fireworks that are Isa and Dylan's story in the The Art of D/s Saga.
Isabella "No one would ever love her and no one would ever understand what her artwork meant to her. No one."
Dylan "His promising life as a Dom had cruelly been struck down by the dreaded vanilla syndrome and there seemed to be no cure for it in sight."

The Art of Redemption was a great prequel to Isabel and Dylan’s lives before they crossed paths in the future which would be told in the next book, The Art of Submission.
I only despise the fact that they both thought they were beyond redemption and saving from their own kind of demons to the point of thinking that they are unlovable and undeserving. Nevertheless, I’m only hoping for better things to happen to them from now on. Their happiness is also my happiness. Lame but seriously true to me, well, when it comes to this story.
The Art of Domination is a continuation from the Art of Submission which is a lovely walk into the path of BDSM from an experienced Dominant to an unknowing submissive, the journey of frustration, finding oneself, love, acceptance, trust and of course submission. Those are all woven into an exceptional story that carries throughout a series of books and a spin off book for one of the other main characters. I absolutely love this trilogy and it's spin off. I would love to read more of these character paths.
The Art of Domination is an adventure that started in the lives of Dylan and Isabel it offers excitement, challenge, and a deeper look into the BDSM life for this couple. It touches on self sacrifice for trust and love and leaves you wanting more which is luckily given to you in the 3rd book.
Ella has given us an insight to the tortured souls of Dylan and Isa before Dylan was a Dom& before Isa was an artist, and tells of the events that led them to feel the way they did towards themselves. The Art of Redemption is another 5star read, you won't want to miss this prequel! If you've read The Art of D/s series& loved them as I did, I have no doubt you will love this too! Your heart will break and your blood will boil! Hearts are broken so that they may be mended.... I was left wanting MORE! The Art of D/s will thankfully satisfy my thirst though. And how about that cover!! GORGEOUS! !
This book gives an insight into the lives of Isa and Dylan before they met and what brought them together. They are the main characters in Ella's Art of Books, I love that Ella puts so much of her passion and soul into each book she writes, her writing always makes me feel like I am more than just reading a book but a part of the book. Even her short stories always reach out and grab me and have me hanging on to each word. If you like Erotica, romance, and sexy alpha men then this is a series you need to read.
I have been sooooooo eager for this one. Dylan and Isa are my all time favorite book couple.
The Art of Redemption is a quick read and gives us the final puzzle piece to the story. We get to see how life was for Dylan and Isa before they meet and where they were emotionally. How Dylan became the successful man he is and Isa's struggle to be independent and free of her evil father.
This is 54 pages and can be read before or after the art of d/s

I love this little teaser into the lives of our very own fucked up Romeo and Juliet. Dylan and Isa. They are perfection to the t. This novella gives us a glimpse on how all of our characters wind up in eachother lives.
The art of D/s is one of my all time favorites and this novella did it justice
Whether you read this before or after The Art Of D`s trilogy, it will leave you wanting more of all the characters in this book. I had read The Art of D 's before reading this novella. I love Isa and Dylan. This novella gives you such insight into who they are. I highly recommended this novella to anyone who as considered buying The Art of D 's series! It will have you one-clicking the series asap! Awesome novella! Fabulous Series!!!
This felt like a coming of age story for me, you get to experience Dylan and Isa growing up. You finally understand why they have the issues they have, everything becomes clear. I love Dylan and Isa, I know they are fictional characters, but Ella Dominiguez writes so well these two seem real to me. This is a must read if you have read The Art of the D/s series, and if you haven't, well what are you waiting for?
What a great addition to The Art of D/s series with this prequel. I loved getting more detail into the lives of Dylan, Isa and even Sawyer before the original story begins. I can't wait to go back and re-read this series again, it's always been one of my favourites. Thank you Ella Dominguez for this more detailed view into the character lives. The author/publisher provided an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
Great glimpse on both Dylan & Isa's life prior to them meeting. This was a quick read and well worth it. I just wish I read this first prior to reading the series. Oh well, it was still great regardless.
absolutely loved it. Loved this glimpse into Dylan and Isa life before they met. Another amazing story written by amazingly talented woman! A must read.
In this story Dylan found his way into BDSM where Keiran trained him as a dom but when he takes a permanent sub he gets burned. Isabel comes from a abusive father and escapes her life only to be used by some pretty horrible selfish men. The two main character don't even meet in this book. It is all about there journey towards BDSM. I just found it a bit boring especially as they never actually meet.
I really enjoyed reading this short story and continuation to Dylan and Isa's story, from the Art of Becoming Us. This is the first story I have read by Ella, and I like the way she writes about her characters and their stories.
"Dylan, just like in life, there is no failing in BDSM. There is only learning from your mistakes and making right what you've wronged."
"Her ability to put down on canvas what was in her mind was the only redeeming quality she had gained from the cruel man who was her father."
Well written with a few editing issues. This is not a stand-alone story.
This is a nice supplement to The Art of D/s and even Becoming Sir, providing more details on how the two key characters and his best friend came to be where and what they are.
I really enjoyed this book. It was great to actually know what happened with Dylan and Isa before they met, as well as a little background into Sawyer as well. I'm am looking forward to more from Ella!!!
