I loved this book. I’m admittedly unsure if the recommendations that were provided are accurate as I’ve not yet travelled to Bologna (that’s coming), however I feel I have a very good idea of what to expect, what to ask for, and what to consider when selecting things to see and do while in Emilia Romagna.

The book is clear, well-written, and thoroughly researched. It’s filled with detail, but not too much. It was an easy read in the best possible way. Amber Hoffman provides the essentials in considering the region’s food, its provenance, and its manifestation in the local culture. I’m hoping the recommendations pan out. I’m glad I bought this book regardless of what I experience when I travel as it made me feel like I was already in Italy.
