I appreciated this book for what it is, gentle insights and reminders for those on a spiritual path. The quotes (mostly from monks and milarepas) are thoughtful and beautiful reminders of compassion, mindfulness and humility in day to day, worldly life. All that being said, the insights didn’t necessarily feel ground breaking or deeply transformative, not that it has to. It reinforced what I already knew rather than opening anything radically new. Still, some beautiful reminders and an overall comforting read.
It's a beautiful collection of all the fascinating reflections from practitioners, and the way it is segregated and indexed is helpful, as it takes you from the experiences you encounter at the beginning of the practice to the stage where you reach realisation. This is helpful and can be really helpful when you start meditating on different things. This way, you know what to meditate upon next. Although these are very personal processes, they help and are very useful as a roadmap for the same.
This is a concise book which contains little pieces of wisdom based on Buddhism. I bet that every reader will have different takes from the words in the book; for me, it had a few words from different Buddhist figures that resonated with me. For others, it would be different ones. I didn't find the books as deeply insightful, but it did have a couple of useful insights.
A very interesting collection of quotes from some of the most renown teachers from Tibetan Buddhism. While this text is probably difficult to read as a first introduction into Tibetan Buddhism, it’s a wonderful refreshed for those who understand the basic concepts and want to start diving down deeper. Would certainly recommend.
