Dictionary of Differences

Rate this book
This book explains the differences between many of the most interesting - and troublesome - groups of words in the English language, such as the difference between burglary, robbery and theft. It looks at grammatical problems - when to use who or whom - as well as words that are commonly confused with one another and technical words that need clarification. All areas of language are covered from words in everyday use to science, history, art and mythology. Each entry is written in an easy to follow style with many examples and there is extensive cross-referencing. The author is a lexicographer.
