A couple of bits were out of the date by the publication date (e.g. exploration of the ocean floor) and the very necessity of covering so many topics so briefly, of course, means they're covered at a very high level, but I found this book very engaging and easily readable without being insulting. The author kept it light and there were numerous points that piqued my curiosity enough to spend some time online learning more.
