Wm. Paul Young is a Canadian author. Young was the oldest of four. He spend the majority of his first decade with his missionary parents in the highlands of Netherlands New Guinea (West Papua), among the Dani, a tribal people. When he was six he was sent to a boarding school.
The manuscript, that later became The Shack, was intended only for his six kids and for a handful of close friends. After multiple rejections by publishers, Young and his friends published the book under the name of their newly created publishing company. The Shack was one of the top-selling fiction books of 2008 and will be a major motion picture in Spring 2017.
Young lives in Happy Valley, Oregon with his wife and has six children and several grandchildren. He is also the author of Crossroads, Eve and the non-fiction book, Lies We Believe About God.
Originally tried this study in a very small group setting .. not once, but twice. Each time, praying and really thinking that was the way to go. However, after an unsuccessful second try, I prayed one more time, and dropped out of the very small group. Returned back to the study as a solo study, and it was as if a much needed switch was flipped, or a button had been pressed.
Only speaking for myself, but, as a solo study, this impacted my faithwalk tremendously, and helped with the continued healing path that I am on. Only wishing that I had switched to an independent study sooner. Not saying that others wouldn't benefit from it as a group study, but for me, the difference was dramatic.
This book gives a great storyline of how God is always with us through the storms of our lives. We can grow through our storms, we just need to trust God that he knows what he’s doing in our lives.
Te ayuda a entender la importancia de amar y perdonar aun cuando lo que te hayan hecho te haya destrozado. Y entiendes que no somos quienes para juzgar.
I previewed this for a possible Bible study class. I decided against leading the class because I felt that there was a lot of heavy stuff in this book that I didn't want to be in charge of, if that makes sense. This will probably be a great study...for someone else to lead.
Just read this for the third time, and every time I read it I learn something new and a new way to apply it to my life. I absolutely love this book and it changed my life, now three times. A must read
