Fantastic!
Its an artfully written 3rd installment of love, angst, forgiveness, relationship issues, cheating and self analysis that reminds me of the author combining the best of the old and new into this storyline that readers will want to savor as long as possible to keep it from ending. This book is filled with most of the regular female characters who captured our hearts in the very first series with witty, caring attitudes and their perseverance of what true friendship in a Lesbian Community stands for plus their connections to family. The love stories contained within these pages employ the cliches of romance: opposites attract, instant chemistry and predictable moves...but at least it worked for the writer in this series...incredible writing and recommended to everyone

I'm a fan of this chick-lit, lesbian soap opera that is the Bay West Social series. I must admit I was a little worried about this 3rd book. How would everything work out, would my favorites get a happily ever after? I'm happy to say this lived up to my expectations. Is this the end of Bay West? I'm guessing yes. If so, I will really miss these characters I have connected with. And If this is the end, I'm happy how it worked out.

I must admit I was a little less than impressed with the beginning of the book. I'm not a fan of Meg with Marnie. (Her name is Marnie right? That's how much I can care less since I can't even remember her name). Sam, came back to Bay West. Again honestly it didn't do anything for me. I can't even remember Sam or if I should feel bad she is back in Bay West looking to start her life over. On top of those two things, the juicy tidbit we were left about Cam, honestly just fizzled out. Not a good beginning for me at all.

I would say it was about the middle of the book, everything started to change. Sam ended up being such a sweetheart. If she had been more of a main character, she would have been one of my favorites. There was also some drama that heated up and finally the book took off.

Now I have to talk shortly about Meg. I know she can drive some people nuts, but Meg has been my favorite since day one. She has gone through plenty in this series. In fact I think Cummings loves to torture her. I was so angry about what Sasha did to her, in the second book. Everyone seemed to find love, but Meg. Well this book was finally Megs chance right? If yes, was it going to be someone from her past, or some wonderful new woman that sweeps her off her feet? Well I'm going to keep that tidbit to myself, so you as a reader can experience it with no spoilers. I will say I was surprised by how much I agreed with Meg's ending. Cummings won me over on her path for Meg. If you are a Meg fan, I believe you will feel the same.

Besides the few bumps in the beginning, this book was a great third installment in the Bay West Social series. If this is the end, I go away happy, if it's not, I will be back for the next.

An ARC was given to me by BSB, for a honest review.

Ok let's get this love-fest started...

My Review

I have to say this is my favourite book in the series. I couldn't contain my excitement when it first hit my kindle and I spent a whole weekend rereading the whole series, to get ready for Definite Possibility.

I know lot of people are on team Reina but I have to say, even though Sasha messed up I still love her and want her to end up with Meg, so I was delighted when she appears back in this book. And damn, is she back! Poor Meg has got everything she thinks she wants in a relationship with Reina and then bang, she runs into Sasha and now Meg is questioning everything! The nuance in each book shows how much Meg grows with every year that passes, living in the Bay West Community. She's such a great character to read and her ups and downs over the first two books really set her up for what was an excellent character development by the end. I just wanted her back with Sasha from the moment it all went awry in book two Serious Potential. I almost think Meg and Sasha had to fall apart so that if and when they got it together, they would both be all in.... but do they? That's the question!

I'm absolutely ecstatic that Sam's back from book one. I had a little crush on her but thought she was out of state working with Julie. Now she's back and single and has her eye on Lucy whose running a coffee bar in outskirts of Bay West. You may remember Lucy as she also played a small role in book one. Jesse and her intern Lexi were Lucy's legal team when she was a cop and being investigated by her peers. She played a small role in getting Jesse and Lexi together... so we already love her!

Sam and Lucy together... well hell! I thought we had our hottest couple at Bay West but I was wrong. Firstly Lucy is just amazing and so very tortured at the same time. Her past allows for these massive walls but I loved reading about Sam tearing them down. From the minute Sam stepped onto the page I was a goner. She the four S's - smart, sensitive, strong and incredibly sexy. I found myself rereading just her scenes the following week because I liked her so very much.

Lexi and Jesse are enjoying married life and are looking into the next stage in their relationship. Still madly in love, these two will always fight with Meg and Sasha for my favourite couple in Bay West. I just adore them. They certainly are the couple to be and look up to. Jesse for the last two books has been my ultimate crush however that all changed with Sam in this book. I think I admire the love that Jesse and Lexi have for one another and I was again left feeling like they could be great friends. I really enjoy the friendship between Jesse and Meg, the whole young Padawan & Yoda conversations between them always melts my heart. Also I think everyone needs a Jesse friend who is older, wiser and has the gift of the gab.

This book also has some of the hottest sex scenes of the series and its not just one couple either, they are all extremely sexy.

I know that this is the end... for now and really hope that later down the track Maggie Cummings checks in with these characters. I'm not the best at letting go and these are characters that I want to read more of time and time again.

Whatever Maggie Cummings has up her sleeve next I'm already there waiting with bated breath. If you hadn't guessed it, this is an unmistakably 5 star novel!!!

I so loved Totally Worth It and was super excited for the sequel to the lesbian Sex and the City-esque story. I did, however, pump the breaks when I found out from a few fellow reviewers that the sequel left you with a broken heart (Meg & Sasha forever). So finally when the third part of the series came out, I am ready to do some power reading and zip through two and three back to back.

I am a fan of this series. I like the style, the pacing, the friendships all tied around cute and sexy romances. For me, this book was all about redemption for Sasha. She let the girl get away and she sure as hell better get her back. Who is this Reina and why is she still here? The story also re-introduced Sam and added a new character, Lucy. If you loved the first one, were frustrated with that disastrous ending of the second, well let me tell you the third one will give you nothing but joy and happiness.

The book of redemption for more than one main character.
The ending was open, so hoping for a fourth book in this series. With the original characters and new ones into the mix.

I have to admit I was a sucker for this series by Maggie Cummings. It greatly has to do with the fact that I am a little in love with Jesse since the first book. The author wonderfully balances all of the characters throughout all three books, giving some of them more in one and less space in another sequel - in the first book it's mainly Jesse and Lex, the second deals mostly with Meg and this one focuses primarily on Sam. That being said, none of those other characters are sidelined in each book, so you follow what happens in their life as well. This beautiful bunch of people (Jesse, Lexi, Meg, Sam) deal with their on heartbreaks, new opportunities, old loves, new loves, in a very mature and real manner; you have to feel for them, you bond with them, you root for them.

I've enjoyed this series from the start! I recommend reading the other books, but honestly I think you could read it as a stand alone and it would be fine. I read the second book first then backtracked.

I like everything about this book and this series. Nice romance, some great chemistry, hot sex scenes and a little angst thrown in! Oh, and a little shocker as well!

I hope it's not the end!

I have enjoyed this series so far and would say this book is definitely my fav of the 3. I think Cummings does a great job to move all stories along well and provide different stages in each story which works well!

I really enjoyed Sam and Lucy's story. It was a great romance to read and they fit so well together! I will admit it because there are some time between books and due to so many characters in the stories it did take me some time to remember Sam and Lucy from the earlier books. But it did't take too long and I was back on track.

I was unsure on how Meg's story would good with the return on Sasha (who I honestly wasn't expecting a return). I actually thought this was done really well! I was definitely rooting for Sasha not long from the start of this book.

It seems to me that this was the end of this series however I also felt like there was a small opening for maybe another Bay West Social series but with different main characters. Not sure what others thought.

Loved it!!

Another great installment in the Bay West Social series!

This one starts a few months after the previous book ended, and we continue the story of Meg, Lexi, Jesse and Sam.

This book series feels like a TV show, with every book being a different season. This book could serve as the end of the series, but I would love to see more. Here's hoping for one more season… I mean, book :)

I highly recommend this series.

This book made it hard for me to read because from the beginning I could absolute not stand Sam - she that kind of character I just don’t like in books - too sure of herself, feeling being butch gives her some kind of badge .....
I liked the other parts with Meg and her troubles with Reina and Sasha - I kind of read the book for that story line and kind of read over Sam’s storyline kind of quickly.

I enjoyed reading about Sam and Lucy's journey and their romance, but I found myself always looking forward to Meg's story and hopefully finding her happily ever after.

Lexi and Jesse were a part of this book as well but had minor roles.

I suggest reading the books in order if you're about to start the series.

I will definitely reread this series again as I enjoyed it that much.

This is a light and soapy story with two central f/f romance arcs and lots of drama and jealousy and lack of communication. It didn't work for me; I found myself at turns annoyed or bored, and had to push myself to finish reading. I didn't really care about any of the characters, and wasn't rooting for the couples to be together.

This was set in Staten Island, but in some version of it that didn't feel real, where everyone was white and middle class. This is not the NYC I am from. The book refers to Staten Island as a "suburb of NY" which is not only inaccurate but also reflective of the vision of imaginary (very white) Staten Island it presents. I went into the story excited about found family and queer community setting (in a lesbian housing complex), but it didn't give me warm queer community feels. Instead, it seemed filled mostly with the things I find difficult about queer communities: lots of alcohol consumption, a meat market singles scene, characters that are full of prejudice and judgment, and social dynamics driven by jealousy and hatred of bi people.

I was excited to read a story that had a central butch character. She was too thinly drawn, but so were all the other characters so it's not much of a surprise. I just especially yearn for butch characters and wanted deeper characterization. I did appreciate the scenes with a strap on, even though they did not resonate with my own strap on experience. (Most notably, the MC wearing a strap on didn't seem to have any sensory experience of that, it references it as if all that is hot is the visual.) Strap on sex is so rare to find in f/f romance, I was especially glad to see it here.

I had a hard time with the way Meg was so intensely judgmental about secondary characters in an open relationship. There was no reason to include such intense judgment (she refers to open relationships as not normal), and it made me dislike her immensely. It's fine if she wants monogamy if all the MCs want monogamy, but as a polyamorous reader it was extremely irritating to have that kind of judgment included without being challenged, it read like the book was endorsing her thoughts. Similarly, they make a derisive pointless joke about BDSM in the same scene, which was there for no reason, and was irritating to me as a kinky reader.

By the time the book was over I was wishing Sasha would find someone else, because Meg was so full of prejudice and judgment and was so intensely caught up in her hatred of bisexuality that she couldn't even see Sasha at all. The way she talks about Sasha, talks to Sasha, and thinks about her felt like it was steeped in her prejudice against bisexuality. It made her so intensely unlikable to me.

I didn't care about the couples or their arcs, and was bored by all the intense jealousy and conflicts around jealousy in both romance arcs. One of the relationships with the jealousy bordered on controlling in a way that made me uncomfortable. I was also troubled that a discussion of jealousy and insecurity in a relationship would be the prelude to the first time the characters have sex. Mostly, though, I was just bored by this book. It's possible I might care more about it had I read the prior two books in the series.

This is book 3 of Bay West Social series about a group of friends living in a lesbian condo in Staten Island. I haven't read the previous two so I feel that I lost a bit on the background story of some characters. However, 'Definite possibility' reads as a stand alone novel. The story revolves around two couples: ex girlfriends Meg and Sasha and the owner of Lucy's coffee store and butch/player Sam. The two parallel romances gives a quicker pace to the book with more drama and romance. There's even an unexpected twist at the end involving Lucy's sister that came as a complete surprise to me. But what I really liked is that the story goes beyond both romances and is a tale of friendship, family and love. I only wish I had read the previous books first in order to enjoy it fully.

Overall, a heart warming and feel good story with a bit of drama on the side. 4 stars.

Gave up on this one because the borderline biphobic remarks Meg makes about her past with Sasha got to me, and the weird scene where Meg and Lexi slag off open relationships seemed unnecessary too.

Loved it!

I loved this book like I loved the first two previous ones. Being able to live in a Lesbian Community like the one in the book is very special. The characters as usual very well developed as was the story line. Liked that Meg and Sam were able to find their happily ever after and Lexi and Jesse get to bring an addition to their community. Hope there is another story in this lovely community in Staten Island.

Book three in the series. This is a great group of friends! Love their interactions. Lucy and Samantha’s story was great. I saw the twist coming and was not happy, but it worked out nicely. Meg and Sasha are cute together. And now a baby will be added to the group. Hope there will be another book, I have enjoyed the characters.

Loved the series. This book has the happy ending I wanted for meg but the majority of the book was lucy and Sam. And since I do not like reading about addicts in recovery or at all (including alcoholics which this book claims Lucy is) I did not like their story at all. So this book like the series is amazing and written well.. but I would have rather just read about meg and sasha and Lexi and jessie. Really just meg and sahsa. They definitely didn't get enough in this book. Also no Betsy and her gf Trina? They just disappeared could have not had Sam move back and just focused on those three couples and would have been so much better imo. Or just had it about meg and sahsa with a little lexi thrown in... though hate kids even unborn ones so lost interest with Lexi half way through too... but I really enjoyed meg and Lexi's friendship all through the series. I really loved the concept of this series. Feel like dates at the beginning of each chapter would have helped me though as the timeframe was confusing.. sometimes I thought it had been a day when it had been weeks.. a lot of times actually. Also I skipped a lot because I hated lucy and I think I read all other scenes but I never read about meg telling about kam and taylor to anyone... Kinda wanted some closure there since kam hated jessie so much but anyway wish there were more books.

Big disappointment. But let's start with the good aspects.

The story and narration have a L Word vibe, which is nice. A lot of lesbian, some happy, some having trouble, some being downright jerk, but together they make a multidimensional portrait of the lesbian community. That's the nice part.

Now the not so nice aspects.

The characters are:
- Biphobic
- polyamour basher
- goldstar elitist
- Over jealous
- show yellow flag of abusive tendancies.

No actual abuse take place but most of the romantic relationship are bordeline on that aspect. As they don't cross the liNE I normally don't mention it. BUT those yellow flag are glorified both by the naration and some characters it is creepy. So it's worth taking down 1*.

2* were knocked down for :
- Almost inexistant diversity
- Excessive description
- almost no characters growth
- internalize misogyny
- lgbtqia+ Discrimination

Trigger warning
-Cheating
- Stereotypes Butch/Femme dynamic
- Sex, sextoys, blow job

I don't recommend.

I loved the third book in this series. Actually, I think it was the best of the three.
This book mostly revolves around Sam and her move and subsequent reintegration with the Bay West crew. Meg also figures a lot of stuff out personally too. Sam, of course, falls in love and moves back into Bay West. And it kinda feels like Meg has finally found some closure. I'm not sure if that means no more Bay West books, but I hope not.
I didn't know I was cheering for a closeted heartbreaker when I started this book, but despite my best efforts I ended up hoping Meg and Sasha would get their shit together. The various love stories paid me back for sticking with this series and I honestly found them ultimately delightful. If you like reading simple quiet love stories then this is a great book to pick up.

I had not read the first two books in this series, however I really enjoyed this one. Knowing that it is a series, I will likely go back and read the first two. I loved the way the Bay West community is set up and the romance between the characters. There are many to keep track of, but I was never confused. Each woman is fully realized and developed.

Was so glad to get back to Bay West, my favorite lesbian community. This series is just good. There's little pettiness, there's real like situations, there's lovable characters. It's everything you want in a series about a tight knit community.

The things I want to praise about are all spoilery, so I don't wanna go there. :/ I like what finally happened with Meg, because ugh the start of the book. I didn't like, at all, what was going on with Lexi/Jesse. Unfortunately if that continues on in the next book, with more than just a blurb about it, I will probably have to end my love affair with these books. We'll see. The books tend to be about Meg and whoever new is in town, as long as it stays that way, we'll be all good. If it focuses on the other stuff, I'll be super disappointed, but that's just me.

Recommended for GLBT fans, and those who like reading about the ongoing sagas of a small community.

Really enjoy this series

I love the fact that this series doesn't focus on one main couple in each book, it focuses on a group of friends and what is going on with each of them. In that way there is more than one romance running at a time. It is nice to keep up with each of them, and their strong friendships are the foundation for a great series.
I enjoyed getting to know Sam better in this book and I see her in a whole new light now. I really liked her character in this story. As always, Meg and Lexi take leading roles in the storyline too. I can't wait to see what happens next at Bay West!

Nice update on the goings on in Bay West. This is an ensemble piece with stories of new love, reconnected love and having a baby. Individually each tale is a novella, but they are told within the context of the Bay West community so the collective effect is somewhat greater than three short stories. There is a good cast of supporting characters, with the main characters in each story providing a supporting role in the others. It all comes together with the requisite HEA's, and at least one possible character for another book.
