My reviews of these episode guides are getting a bit repetitive, but I'm not sure what else I can say about them. To be honest, this was never my favourite season anyway, as I found the abrupt end to the shadow war very unfulfilling. However, this book explains why it happened like it did and what the writer had to achieve, while under threat of cancellation. As usual, I liked both the brief synopsis of each episode and the little interviews with cast and crew. There was some good background given and it made me appreciate the episode that I had just re-watched. Definitely worth reading for any B5 fans.
The insights and quotes from cast and crew added a lot to my B5 knowledge. I'm friends on FB with Patricia Tallman (Lyta Alexander) and Claudia Christian (Susan Ivanova), and I'm currently writing a Babylon 5 novella called "Song of Lyta". So, I enjoy getting insights into the characters and plots and subplots of one of the finest science fiction series ever on TV.
Season 4 "No Surrender, No Retreat" was a critical turning point in the series, and Jane Killick has covered it episode-by-episode very well.
An episode guide to the fourth season of the Babylon 5 series. Although the cover of the book says there are pages of colored photographs, all the photos in the book I have are in black-and-white.
The book has a summary of what happened in the episode along with a lot of background information on the episode itself.
