Love thy neighbor? Oh, I intend to.

As a retired SEAL, I’m used to crushing obstacles.
So when the world’s biggest dick tease moves in next door, I’m up for the challenge.
Her smile, her lips, her ass fitting snugly into those tight jeans. It makes me hard the minute she crosses my driveway.
But I can tell she’s running from something, something I want to save her from.
So now I want her even more.
To protect her, to own her, to make her mine.
But I have a son to think of. No time for women. No time for games.
So there’s no f*cking way I’m letting her into my house and my heart.
But the fact that our bedroom windows align only makes it all the f*ck harder.
From behind half-drawn curtains, we’re playing a dangerously delicious game.
I watch her. And I know she watches me, imagining it’s her hand on my c*ck.
But that’s as far as I’ll let it go.
Because doing what I have in mind to her… it’s downright unneighborly.

Big Bad Neighbor was a Single Dad Next Door Romance by Tia Siren. It was my first book by the author.

Jenna had just escaped a bad relationship and was starting over. She was young, beautiful and looking to start her life fresh and new. Derek was the typical gorgeous, ex-Navy Seal. He was a single dad and kept aloof from all females or anyone becoming a distraction for him raising his son.

Derek and Jenna met when Jenna moved into her new house after running from her abusive ex. The storyline was pretty predictable - no spoilers so no elaboration but it has everything including the nosey gossipy and jealous neighbors as well as the horrific exes. It had a few editing errors that were distracting at times; otherwise it was lighthearted and a quick read.

Based on the cover and the description, this book was way better than I expected it to be. I really like Derek and Jenna. They both have so much they are trying to move past and starting a new relationship was the last thing on their minds. I imagined that Derek would be way cockier and more of a jerk. Although he is a bit rough around the edges he is only a little bit of a jerk in the beginning towards Jenna but that changes fairly quickly. He is trying to be a good dad to his son now that his ex-wife screwed him over quite literally. Jenna is trying to live her life while hoping to avoid her stalker ex-boyfriend. She wants to be free and really live so when you have a smoking hot bad/good guy next door it isn't hard to figure out where her story will take her. This book came with a lot of story collections I am looking at now which is great because I do love the extras. Don't let this cover fool you and give this one a try.

Short read. This book was over at 9%. If you're looking for a short, sexy, neighbors-to-lovers story, this was a good read.

Derek is a retired ex-Navy SEAL that likes to keep to himself. As a single dad in a neighborhood filled with nosey neighbors, keeping his head down and his tone short has kept most away. But that is about to change when Jenna moves in next door. On the run from her abusive ex, Jenna seems to be drawn to the asshole guys. When Derek is in need of a babysitter, Jenna takes a chance and although they can’t seem to stand one another, the sparks do fly.

This wasn’t bad. And although it does end at 9% I don’t think it being longer would have helped. It really didn’t have the depth required to be a longer read. Now, this is another one of those KU books with a ton of bonus material – and yeah some readers might like that, but I am not a fan of it at all. Too many that click through and maybe they don’t read the book fully – but the author still gets paid regardless of the fact if you just skim a few pages or if you actually read it. Call it the little loophole that Amazon refuses to close in their KU program and far too many take advantage of it, leaving me feeling icky over it.

Short ok read. Main H was emotional stunted due to cheating crazy bitch now ex-wife. Main h who has been physically abused just jumps right into wanting a relationship with a closed off harsh man! What? I mean really weird dynamic. Not one I would recommend.

Ever since I learned about this book on Facebook, I wanted to read it so bad. Just the teasers and synopsis really intrigued me, and I couldn't wait to dive on in.

Though I did like the story, I found it rather short this there was not as much development as I would have liked. In fact at some points it felt really, really rushed. I would have preferred more build up and development, there in by increasing the angst that would have been most welcomed in this story. It was what was needed to put it over the top for me. From the synopsis I was expecting lots of good angst and yummy tension between them and though there was some not as much as I was expecting.

I think if this had a longer format where it allowed for more growth and development over the course of the book, it would have been better. Because of the rushed format, there were some things I didn't like.

One, how quickly they got together, which just felt really rushed to me. It was almost like it was nothing. It didn't take much for Jenna to tip Derek over the edge and give in. I thought him or her would have fought it a little more.

Two, though I feel terrible for Jenna's circumstances, I felt it a little bit unbelievable that she would want to get involved with someone after being in an abusive relationship. I would have preferred that she got to know Derek more before hopping into bed with him. That way it would have felt right and she would have trusted him because she got to know him. Yes, it did happen in the book to an extent, but not enough to make it believable.

Three, Even though title suggested that Derek was a bad boy, I found him anything but. I was glad that he was a good man and was looking out for her and all so it was a tad misleading for me that it was a bad boy romance when in fact it wasn't.

Four, even though I knew the cared for one another I felt it was a giant leap from that to love because it just happened so quickly. If there was some more development aside from them going at it like rabbits I would have felt better. But for the most part it was lust mingled with friendship at best. Though I will say that neither made declarations to one another either, which made me feel really cheated despite the fact I really couldn't feel their love for one another. I am such a contradiction right? Just emotionally this story didn't do it for me, which was a shame because there could have been a plethora of emotions that could have been explored and couldn't be because of the short format. The emotional side was easily dealt with and not complicated at all when it should have been.

There were things I liked. The hot love scenes being one of them. They had some hot chemistry going on and their physical connection was really good. I could feel the heat between them. It set the pulse race.

I also really liked him. He was a good guy and really a sweet guy. I didn't think he was a bad boy for a second. I loved the way he was with his son and Jenna. He really was just trying to do the right thing for everyone in his life, putting his own needs aside I'm the process. I definitely swooned a couple of times.

The story was good too, and it was a more suspenseful story than I was expecting. I felt the danger leering around the corner which increased my adrenaline and kept me a bit on the edge of my seat. I wish there was more of that present in the story. It gave the story the edge that it needed. I would have been curious if the pace would have been upped if it was in fact a longer format. I was glad it was in there and there was a villain. And he was a bad villain too. In fact there could have been multiple villains if the story longer that could have caused problems between them. But he was worst.

Overall the story was good, but I wish it was longer because at times it did feel kind of rushed. There was lots of potential to explore in the story but because of its length it couldn't be. That would have made a world of difference for me. But it wasn't a bad story, and I did appreciate it for what it was.

This was my first Tia Siren book I have read, and this story was a nice introduction to her and makes me curious about her other releases. I know that there are a few more that have sparked my interest. It'll be interesting to read them I think.

On the run from her abusive ex, Jenna buys a house in a quiet neighbourhood not far from where her mother’s retirement home is. She’s looking for a fresh start and a break from cold, cruel, alpha men. She’s ready to stand on her own two feet, no matter what it takes.

Unfortunately she wasn’t counting on her less than charming, new next door neighbour Derek. Oh he’s hot alright, but he’s got an ego and a miserable attitude to go with his rugged good looks. He’s also got custody of his adorable, little son who seems to be the only person who brings out the softer side of him. A former SEAL, now a detective for the local PD, he works nights and finds himself without a sitter for his son after his regular sitter gives her notice.

Although Jenna and Derek can’t stand each other, Jenna is desperate for a job and Derek is desperate for a babysitter. They agree to try the arrangement for a short time, but they both underestimated how hard it would be to control their physical attraction to each other, when seeing each other so frequently. Their brains fight and bicker, but their bodies are starving for each other.

When Jenna ends up in danger, will Derek put his bitterness aside to protect her? Will seeing Jenna in trouble be the push his heart needs to realize how much he’s started to care for the feisty young woman next door?

My favourite Tia Siren book so far! Broody, sexy single dad and a sweet, but sassy girl next door.

Standalone. No cliffhanger. HEA.

I liked this book a bunch.

This is a book that you will actually have to pick up for yourself in order to get the book actually. I can tell you it's hot and sexy and that the characters bring out the best and worst of each other also that the HEA is awesome, but at the same time I could say some parts of the book just didn't work for me in the end this book was just awesome and sexy.

Big Bad Neighbor
Tia Siren

A second chance romance with mayhem thrown in for a good stir.

Jenna is just finally starting back to rebuild her shattered life. A new state, neighborhood, house, etc. The whole enchilada. Due to an abusive ex. Only it seems she can't shake him. When looking for job doesn't pan out, a new friend helps her out. By hooking her a job as a babysitter for the grumpy but good looking single father next door. With everything else going on, how will she keep her pants on around him?

Derek Summers is not enthused with the new young woman moving in next door. She's young, good looking, and quite frankly trouble to him at the moment. But the bruises he sees in her tell a different tale. And being a cop doesn't help when his internal radar goes off. He shouldn't want her after all her trouble she's been in, but he does oh so badly. But hiring for a babysitter shouldn't be a problem, right.....?

Big Bad Neighbor is my favorite so far from Tia Siren. While domestic violence is a serious subject and a big part of Jenna's character, it's handled quite well. The story focuses on Derek and Jenna getting to know each other and Derek's protective nature is just what Jenna needs after getting out of an abusive relationship. I won't give spoilers, so I'll just say that the ending was just perfect for these two.

This naughty read has it all, hot steamy sex, tender moments, a little drama with a few twists, a sexy hot alpha man and a strong woman. Although both Derek and Jenna have past demons to fight, and not looking for a relationship, they cannot deny the chemistry between them.

First let me say that I enjoyed the book and in fact I enjoyed it a bit more than the other books I've read by this author. With that being said let me get the things I didn't like out of the way. The lack of proof reading that was done before publishing was distracting. Many times there were words missing from sentences like the word "hair" when describing Jenna's hair being pulled up into a bun. The sentence in Chapter 10 states "She had pulled her up into a bun" which didn't make sense until I reread it and realized that the word "hair" is missing between the words "her" and "up:
In many other places the prepositions "to" was missing from a sentence and words that didn't need adding were placed in a sentence or two words were transposed making the sentence disjointed.

Along with these grammatical errors I wasn't happy about some to the scenes transition. I'm not a fan of writers who over describe a scene just to fill a page but also I don't like when a writer doesn't write enough to make things clear when setting the scene up. There were times when the characters went from one location and then suddenly was in a next location to the point I wasn't sure if the Jenna was still standing in her home or that of Derek's. Or in one scene Derek is just opening is car door and next he is walking through his home's front door. No description of him walking up the flight of stairs up to his porch and what his demeanor was as he climbed the stairs. Basically there was no setting up of his mood before he enter his home. I wanted a little more of some scene flushed out.

In spite of all these things I found that could have been done better I did enjoy the book for its characters and the story premise. The books I've read so far from Tia Siren features some rich man basically starting a casual sexual arrangement with a young woman then they suddenly fall in love after they become pregnant. But this book deviates from that sort of story line. No rich man and no falling in love because the woman is pregnant. Instead we find two characters with some serious emotional baggage and personal dramas. It's these issues that sort of brings the two to an understanding and reluctantly to more deeper feelings.

While Derek is attracted to Jenna he is not looking for romance because he's been burned before by his ex-wife and Jenna is still licking her wounds after escaping an abusive relationship. These things is what keeps Derek and Jenna from seeking more than some instant physical gratification from each other; that is until time spent together fighting with each other and fighting against their own feelings and realizing how deep they have become changes everything.

Only when drama escalates for Jenna does everything comes into perspective for the two lovers and acceptance of what they feel is allowed to blossom. Like all of Tia Siren's books, and most romance books for that matter, do we find our couple getting their HEA.

Big Bad Neighbor
By: Tia Siren

4.25 Star Review by Kristie K

Bring on the neighborhood watch, the chemistry here is smokin’, and this neighbor is definitely worth watchin’…

Tia Siren brings us yet another tasty morsel with Big Bad Neighbor. A single dad next door romance, this book starts off with fireworks and chemistry, but the behavior is far from neighborly. Derek is a single dad with scars on his heart, and a chip on his shoulder. The last thing he needs is a distraction in the form of long legs, shapely hips, nice breasts, and eyes that you could drown in. When Jenna moves in next door, Derek is determined to keep her at arms length, and keep his d*ck to himself. When things get dicey, though, will the hero in him be able to stay away?

Big Bad Neighbor was a very fun romp, with a drop dead gorgeous hunk of man meat (with a massive chip on his shoulder), and a sweet, beautiful, vulnerable woman who needs a hero. I enjoyed this book from it’s “5 stars of hotness” cover, to it’s “just enough to hook you” blurb. The characters were well developed, and easily relatable. They carried enough depth to keep you captivated, and plenty of personality to bewitch you. The plot and storyline were of a popular genre, but written with the ever present Tia twist. Well thought out and executed, it keeps you interested. Ms. Siren is a talented author, and I delight in the fun and witty stories she enchants us with.

Umm…I don’t know where to start. Let’s just say, it wasn’t what I expected. I was ambivalent as to whether or not it was a good read for me. On one hand, I thought this book would make my day due to the grumpy, brooding hero. But on the other hand, I really thought it would annoy me to no end with its very same old plot—a woman on the run from her abusive boyfriend. But in the end, when I finished reading this, I found that the book didn’t succeed on both tasks. I neither loved nor hated it. It was ok, but nothing more than that. Nothing special to remember.

I was disappointed with Derek’s character. At first, he came off as a hard-ass, brooding man, which I immediately had high hopes that he and I would get along more than fine, but the more I read, the less attractive he became to me. He kept fighting the obvious pull between Jenna and him and kept pushing her away whereas she kept offering herself to him. Umm…this really didn’t float my boat.

However, he redeemed himself near the end and ultimately manned up and followed his heart. The ending was lovely and beautiful, and my heart swelled with joy seeing them had their HEA.

Despite my 3-star rating, please don't let me discourage you from giving this one a try though. You may find it more enjoyable than I did. At least the cover is worth drooling over!

What's not sexy about a single dad who takes really good care of his son? Derek is a moody man who is a father of a 5 year old boy Owen. He has gown through a bitter divorce and has no intentions of getting into anymore relationships with woman. Too much trouble. Anna is a 23 year old woman who buys the house next to Derek's. She is running from an exboyfriend who has abused her to the point of being put into the hospital. When they first meet, the tension between the two is through the roof. Derek likes things quiet, he works nights at the police department and tried to sleep during the day. Anna is trying to work on her rundown house so she can live in a nice home. After time, they finally give in to their attraction to each other. They have a lot of bumps along the way, one being Owen who doesn't understand why his parents divorced to begin with. Can they build a relationship with all of their past baggage? Will Anna's ex come and find her and if he does what will happen? Will her mother stop interfering in her life even though she is an adult? If I answered all of these questions for you, I would be giving away the whole book which I will not do. You will definitely want to purchase this book. It's a fairly quick read with ups and downs and issues that face a lot of woman on a daily basis. I loved it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. Enjoy

Friendly neighbor.

Is this was a short story followed by a bunch of other story's. Big Bad Neighbor stops at 9%. That is the only story I read in the book because that story was the reason I downloaded it. I really liked Big Bad Neighbor. He starts off as a jerk but I think it has an okay reason too. Both characters are stubborn. Hard headed and hurt in the past. I think they go together really well. He has a crappy ex wife and she has a crazy ex. Him being the protector he is he was always there for her. Making sure she was okay and safe. Plus Owen was cute too. My only issue was they never said I love you and protection was never talked about when things got steamy. Otherwise I really enjoyed this story. Would have loved it to be longer but it was still really good. Happy ending. Yay.

This is a novella, ends at around 11% on my Kindle. Contrived dialog, nebby mother, alpha male next door neighbor who comes off like total jerk, but that's exactly the kind of guy the female character falls for. She's coming out of an abusive relationship, moves to a new town and immediately has the hots for her Ex-Navy Seal neighbor, who happens to be a single father. She signs in to babysit the son while the hot dad works nights and they begin sleeping together. I'm glad it was a shorter book, because I couldn't stand the nebby mother always poking her nose into the female character's business. Anyway, I wasn't particularly impressed with this book. Save it for the beach if you want to read something.

Very good romance story. Both Jenna & Derek are stubborn in their own ways yet at the same time they just need someone to love. I felt sorry for Jenna and the situation she was running from but I'm glad he got his.... I also felt sorry for Derek and his predicament, so glad that the author chose not to magnify the ex-wife drama because that is played-out in this genre, lol. Bunch of nosey, even some jealous neighbors come together & learn how to accept the new woman on the block, issues and all. Derek's bark is much worst than his bite, their attraction will not be denied! In spite of their differences, they fit!

The premise was good but could have been executed better. Really bad dialogue. Very predictable and the main climax was dealt with after the fact (h's abusive ex comes back to get her then it jumps to after the H has saved her). Could have been better, the sex scenes were cool, but I thought the sudden interest/fixation on doggy was weird after her ex showed up.

Wouldn't read again or recommend.

Big Bad Neighbor by Tia Siren is a contemporary romance. Ms. Siren has given us a book that is entertaining and furnished it with great characters. Jenna is hiding from an ex. Derek is Jenna's neighbor and he hired Jenna to babysit his daughter. Jenna and Derek's story is full of drama, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book, but didn't bother reading the extra stuff. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Just couldn't get into this story. The attraction between the two main characters came way too quickly for my taste. There was no build up between them; it was there within the first few pages. I prefer a story in which the characters take time to get to know each other, or there's at least more story before they start acting on any attraction.

Big bad bungle

Thin plots, character and scene development. Not much in the way of a researcher, either. Continually uses British slang and sports metaphors while implying the stories are set in the U.S. Poor language skills. Could've used an editor -- any kind of editor. Not ready for prime time (or any time, for that matter).

This book pulled me in straight from the start. Jenna and Derek both are coming out of a bad relationship. They fight their feelings for each other. Will they cave to the attraction or will disaster strike? Your emotions will be all over the place by the time you finish reading.

This story was amazing. In all honesty it broke my heart and made me sad. It’s true that a lot of woman go through that and something needs to change about the system. It gets me all angry just thinking about how many get away. Anyways I loved this book and I know you will too. I’m not going to rant any further. ✌🏻

B.B.N. YES!

People who abuse, whether physically or mentally REALLY upset me. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a Hot Alpha male be able to come to their rescue. The author chose well for the cover, did good with proofreading, and the story flowed well! It was edgy, the romance eased in at a good rate, no cheating, and of course you get the happy ending.
