Peter "Miller" Robicheaux hasn't been back to Louisiana in a very long time and it was time to go. The detail to serve as bodyguard for Colonel LeBlanc's daughter should have been a fairly easy one. But then again, that's never the case where REAPER Security is involved. Can Miller keep his feelings for this woman under control and make sure she makes it to the trial? He's going to need a lot of help to make this happen and even more help to keep his ghosts at bay.
Kari LeBlanc should have never taken the case against Raoul Vasquez, but it was hers now and she would see it through. The fact that her father believed she needed protection was annoying, but even more annoying was the more than six feet of rock hard male standing in front of her. His dark stare and granite body made him look like a waiting gargoyle. But this gargoyle was making her feel things she had never felt before. Would she survive prosecuting Vasquez? And more importantly, would she survive falling for Peter?
Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. Peter "Miller" Robicheaux is assigned a bodyguard detail on his home turf. It's time to go home to Louisiana. There he immediately clashes with his protectee. Attorney Kari LeBlanc is assigned the most important case of her career. The trial of trafficker Raoul Vasquez. Only Raoul isn't prepared to go quietly and Miller soon finds he needs help from his brother's and members of the team. As he fights to keep the woman he's growing to care for alive. Miller finds himself wondering if is time has come. Has he finally found his woman.
I loved Miller in the previous books and was so glad he got his forever, albeit after a rocky start. This is becoming one of my favourite Free Kindle Unlimited series. Can't wait to see who the rest of the guys fall for and what their journey will be.
This series has been interesting to say the least! These girls sure get into some crazy bad situations! And this is the second one to have a father throw her under a bus! Real crazy! Just a small note about editing. Every book, so far, has had small issues - missing a transition so the reader knows it's a different speaker, character doing something. Words spelled correctly just not the correct word (here when it should be her). They are beginning to add up so I thought I would share this. 😉
If you are reading this series, this one is standard fare. Insta love, the guy doesn't think he's worthy, the girl doesn't think she's pretty, thrown together, boom, they are a couple. The added fun this time around is that we get to go to the bayou and met all of Miller's family and there are a lot! It was funny to see Kari meet them all and see how much they all looked alike and mutter how she would never remember their names. And of course Kari has skills that fit in well with the over all REAPER company. The ending was great, loved the wedding and more.
I chose this rating because this was a really interesting book. I enjoyed most all of the characters. This was a book of compassion, kindness, betrayal, And winning the good fight. Miller a d Kari I think they made a really interesting couple. I know Kari was really confused as to what was going on with her parents. Everything worked out as it should have. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
When giving reviews I give how the book made me feel not critic . Kari and Miller's story started out like all the others both not clicking at first, then fall in love. The different twist in this book was Miller ran to scared to take the risk 100%. But Kari never gave up. Love there story .
Also we meet his 14 brothers and sisters. Also Nine and the boys making another division of Reapers.
Mary Kennedy has done it again, the Reaper Security family are growing exponentially. Kari and Miller’s story starts in Louisiana but they soon reunite with the rest of the team plus Miller’s brothers. Another excellent book in this series that really do need to be read in order to appreciate the nuances.
Another one bites the dust! I am reading these Reaper series books as if they're doughnuts 🍩 and anyone that knows me knows I love donuts 🍩💞💗 LOL Can't wait to get my hands on the next book Loving ms Kennedy!
Another one bites the dust! She did it again! There's some twists and turns. Some surprises. I absolutely can't wait to download the next one! I finished this one in a day! It was that good!
I don’t know where Mary gets her ideas from, but they’re awesome. The guys should have named themselves Alpha Protection. They’re good at what they do and they do it well. Lots of sweet love.
The title seems overdone until you realize that Kari's first impression of her bodyguard, Peter/Miler, is not a positive one. The lady is truly in danger since she is prosecuting a notorious drug, crime and trafficking lord and he has no intention of spending any more time in prison. Since the trial is in New Orleans, Miller is assigned since he is a "bayou boy". We get to know the Robicheaux family: Mama Irene, Pop Matthew, and the fifteen Robicheaux offspring. Kari can use a family, since her blood family is .... not warm, shall we say? There is lots of danger and the pair falls in love in spite of that. The family accepts Kari immediately and the brothers manage to take care of them. They also manage to start a new division of REAPER - REAPER South.
Miller has decided he will never get a happy ever after until he is sent to be a body guard for an attorney named Kari, even with the rocky start they find love but with her life in jeopardy , and of course Miller makes a mistake and almost loses ecerything
I can't get over what pushovers the women in these books are. The guy does something and the women are apologizing or forgiving without any kind of grovel.
