A special edition of the first two novels of the Dishabille quintet. Previously called Dishabille and Morphoses. Now called Dahlia and Miranda.
Dahlia.
Crisp white shirt. Fluorescent glare from his watch as he adjusts his tie. He looks smart. He might be. Whoever he is. But it’s the guy behind him on his knees plugging in a vintage IBM who is the smart one. Like, really smart. If he wasn’t, they wouldn’t call him so much to fix what they can’t. Did I mention he’s a genius? He drives a sensible car. He’s nice to his sister. He can look after himself. But even with poor impulse control and severe ADHD, he worships me.
Miranda.
Black corset. Red lips. She could have her pick. Maybe she hasn’t scraped the bottom of the barrel, though I don’t think I’m at the very bottom. I mean, I see the bottom, but I’m not there. Yet. At least, I think this is the bottom. And a barrel. But maybe I should get it together. She sees me. I am seen. Either way, I’m a fool. I may as well enjoy myself.
Arden Aoide lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband, two daughters, and three cats. Turn ons include men who cry during sex, long walks on the beach, and talking about herself in the third person. Turn offs include mean people and trying to figure out how to write an interesting author bio.
She doesn't write about the typical men you normally read about in erotic romance novels. She likes her men brainy and just this side of manic.
She's an introvert, she loves coffee, Internet, British television, and pot stickers. And pie. She loves pie.
In this Duet the read meets 4 new characters who are sexually repressed until the right lover comes along. This series was sweet, fun, sexy, hot, kinky, and shows the reader that no matter how kinky or repressed you are there's someone for everyone. Dahlia is a divorced mom who is still very much connected to her ex-husband Nick. They are best friends who share a business, daughter, and are co-dependent. Dahlia hasn't had sex in years and it hadn't been satisfactory in more years than she can remember. Oh a whim she decides to allow her inner submissive out by going to the club Dishabille. There she meets the owner Miranda who sets her up with Alex (Miranda's brother). Dahlia and Alex have amazing chemistry and they fall in love instantly. The passion, feelings and kink these two have is off the charts hot. I adored this story and was bummed when it was over. Hopefully the future books will have more from these fun characters.
In the second half of this Duet we see Miranda and Nick's story and how co-dependant they are with Alex and Dahlia. It works for them and makes for a interesting dinamic. Nick has been sexually repressed for years and after seeking help he's starting to get sexual urges. Miranda hasn't found a lover whose completely into her kink. Once these two meets the kink and sex fly. Holy cow these two are explosive together. This journey of self discovery, openness and love was amazing to read. I love anything Arden writes and she didn't disappoint with this Duet. There's plenty of her dry humor, wot, kink, love, complicated relationships that will leave you craving more
