I need to be more well-versed in microeconomics to understand this. The book also made me more sad to think about the elitism and exclusivity of information in the college world. I feel like I would recommend it to people who understand it better though ✌️

I love the way this book involves the student and the parent in the college search and decision-making process. The resources identified in the book also made the journey easier. I had my daughter and nephew take the Birkman Career Assessment. They have a better idea of how to approach colleges and careers. This a great book that will help parents and students understand the process of college selection together.

Of course I came late to the party on this topic, because my daughter is a senior, but I still found value in reading this because we did some things right (according to the book) and some things are definitely too late to work on. In the middle, I found some helpful suggestions that we can still implement. What a racket though!! For such an important step in the lives of students, it sure is complicated and stress-filled.

Wow! Wish I had had this book 10 years ago when my first kid was approaching college. The project management metaphor for working through the college process is brilliant. No other book I’ve read, even those oriented towards parents, has been so specific and helpful at providing an honest approach to college planning. I’m a college and career counselor and will recommend this book as a first among many to the parents that ask for guidance.

Great information on lesser known tips to increase chances of getting financial aid for college. Real world examples illustrate the pitfalls of applying only to "name brand" colleges (unless you are ok with paying full price!) Highly recommend

This book gave me more anxiety than anything. Also, apparently, it's smarter to start planning for college and applying for aid by the time teens are freshman/sophomores in high school. Which seems like it shouldn't be necessary, but apparently, it is.

I didn't finish this before it's due back at the library, but I may come back to it. It's written in an unsophisticated style, but I found it had many useful ideas and tips.
