La historia de Joss y Braden me gusto bastante cuando la lei hace algunos años pero no alcanzo la adoracion que sienten muchas personas aqui en Goodreads por ella, quizas por eso me pense mucho si leer esta pequeña novela pero lo cierto es que me sorprendio gratamente lo que encontre entre sus paginas.
Este tipo de historia es una de las que mas disfruto leyendo, pese a no tener demasiadas paginas considero que tiene un desarrollo muy bueno y verosimil, incluso mejor que el de otros libros con el doble de paginas que he leido.
Me gusto la idea que plantea el libro, esa de que si dos personas son realmente almas gemelas no importa que camino tomen, el destino las unira tarde o temprano, y esta " version " de la historia de Braden y Joss tambien me agrado, no solo me parecio muy emocional y bonita, sino que ademas me gustaron los pequeños detalles que vemos de la familia que han formado a lo largo de los años.
El unico pero que le pondria es que desee que aparecieran mas personajes secundarios, me quede con ganas de una escena en la que salieran Nate, Olivia, Cam, Jo, etc, pero aun asi estoy muy satisfecha con esta lectura.
En resumen, Stars Over Castle Hill es la opcion perfecta para las fan de esta saga y tambien para las que no lo sean, puesto que esta novela es amena, entretenida y sentimental.
Muy recomendable.

I love Sam Young and this novella gave me the opportunity to remember Joss and Braden. This alternative version of their love story brought a huge smile upon my face and made me super aware of why they are so amazing together. Even if the circumstances were different, the attraction and chemistry were as intense as we know them. Although short, it was a pleasant read, with a lot of hot scenes that never disappoint.

OMG!!!
Primer libro que leo en mi vida en inglés sin que nadie "me obligue" a hacerlo. Esto si que es efecto #Braden. XD, que este chico me incite a, por fin, leer un libro en inglés y que ésto no haya sido una tortura, se merece premiazo: 4 estrellas!!
Estoy segura que no me he enterado de la mitad. Los sentimientos que siempre me provocan esta pareja, ésta vez han sido menos. Que leer no consiste sólo en entender el significado de las palabras, leer es sumergirte en lo que piensan los personajes, en el ambiente, en todo... Y como comprenderéis, yo esta vez he estado más atenta a simplemente: ¡enterarme!.
Pero algún día conseguiré disfrutar los libros en inglés!!!! {Ay... ojalá}. Éste es el primer paso.
Con la historia. ¿Qué os digo? Si es que yo siento amor por esta pareja. Son mis amigos. Si es que aunque sólo me cuenten lo que hicieron el finde, yo disfruto. Por todo eso y más, encantada de saber más de Braden y Jocelyn. Con respecto a la respuesta de Braden después de leer el libro que Jocelyn ha escrito sobre ellos, el señor Carmichael ha puesto en su boca exactamente lo mismo que yo he pensado durante todo el libro. LO MISMO. Samantha Young, me tienes tomada la medida con el guapérrimo.

The novella starts off with updating us on things with Joss and Braden and then immediately goes into Joss being asked to write a story with a different outcome on a pivotal event.
Naturally, she decides to write what would happen if her and Braden didn't meet when she was twenty-two and instead met when she was thirty.
And let me just tell you...HOLY COW!! Samantha Young can write sexual tension like nobody's business. I mean I LOVE Braden and Joss and I love just about everything about how they got together but this was a very close second.
Granted there was one thing I didn't like and it's funny because Joss has Braden read the story and it's the exact same thing he didn't like! And I loved his reaction! ;)
And don't even get me started on the steamy scenes because phewww! There is nothing like a hot Scot...that's for sure.
So a big FIVE stars from me even though I would have loved for it to be longer. I do hope that Samantha Young puts this out for everyone...I would hate for all the Joss and Braden fans to not be able to read this gem.

La gente que me conoce bien sabe que adoro esta serie de Samantha Young y gracias a esta novella he podido volver a reencontrarme con Joss y Braden. En esta versión alternativa de su historia de amor escrita por Joss, las circunstancias en las que se conocen son muy diferentes, pero hay muchos guiños a momentos y citas de Calle Dublín y la química que desprende la pareja es tan intensa como siempre. La boquita de Braden sigue sin ser de este mundo 🔥🔥😍😍

To be able to read a favorite book for the first time again is something we bookworms wished we all could do. Well, Samantha Young found a way for her readers to do just that.
Stars Over Castle Hill is an alternative reality of Joss and Braden's story. It answered the question of what would have happened if Joss never met Braden and Ellie that fateful day. Don't fret though! Samantha didn't ruin their HEA or anything. In this novella, Joss was asked to write a story about a pivotal event in her life(meeting Braden and Ellie when she was 22) but with a different outcome.
It is a quick read but heartfelt and well-written. And what I loved the most about this novella is the sentimentality. I was grinning so hard and squealing. I wanted to savor everything. Braden and Joss has been one of my favorite book couples since I first read On Dublin Street in 2014. Reading about their initial meeting and them falling in love in a different reality is so amazing because as I said earlier, it is a way to read their story all over again for the first time. There are moments or quotes that are in parallel with ODS and those made me so happy! I loved every page of it. So thankyouthankyou Samantha Young for writing this wonderful and beautiful novella and letting us bask once more to the awesomeness of Braden and Joss! ;)

I read and loved this last year.

Fuckity shit damn do I love Joss and Braden! I will N-E-V-E-R get enough of them. Never ever. Samantha Young please don't stop sharing them with us. I love watching them grow as themselves and as a couple. SY writes them as if they are your friend and you know them well. I love that they still can banter and be snarky and hot! And this alternate reality was just so clever and awesome!
They are one of my top book couples and this was an awesome treat!
I loved it so much that I went back and read all their books over again right after reading this. I've reread them a few times now and I love it just as much as the first time!!! I'm still not ready to leave the Dublin world so I also reread Ellie and Adam and of course Jo and Cam!

I adore this series and love getting these little novellas. This one takes us back to the beginning with Joss and Braden - the couple that started it all.
This was really cute. We got to see them with their three kids. Joss is still writing and she's been asked to write a novella for an anthology and the story needs to be personal. So she chose to write a what if moment - what if she didn't meet Braden the way it happened in the first story. This novella was pretty much just another way to have a meet cute moment with Joss and Braden. It definitely wasn't as cute as their initial meeting - mostly because so much time was lost and relationships never forged -but it was nice to see that they still found their way to each other.
I will continue to read anything from this series as long as Young keeps releasing it.

This is a "what if" novella. What if Joss and Braden met eight years later. Life moved on as normal for Ellie and the other characters. Joss even still became a writer. But without Braden in her life she never addressed the loss of her family. And what of Braden? Was he still successful? Was his love life a mess? Other surprises?
I thought this book was a nice, short reread of On Dublin Street with a twist. It brought back memories. I liked it.

Great novella reminding me of the much loved character's from the inital book which expanded into a great Edinburgh based romance series.
If you haven't read this series yet I'd highly recommend. However, as character's overlap in the books I advise reading in order to get the most enjoyment of the series.

This was the last, and best of the On Dublin Street novellas featuring Braden and Joss at different points in their lives. This one was great and highly imaginative, my favourite up to here.
Joss is commissioned to write about an alternative reality in her life, if some random moments in it had not happened. Speculating about the turns on the way, and potential outcomes in life, in a kind of The Road Not Taken (Robert Frost) virtual reality if she had taken different forks on the path. She gets thinking about what kind of life she could be having if some of the what ifs had happened, instead of what it really did.
I enjoyed it immensely, and thank god now I can finally move on to something different in my kindle. Because I have been trying to for a few days, with very little success. The characters in this series kept calling me back, although I'm not in the mood to start any of the remaining full length novels just yet.

Braden benim favori karakterlerimden. Hatta şurada bahsetmiştim. Ama ne kadar sevsem de yazarın artık bu karakterlere güle güle demesi gerektiğini hissediyorum. Sürekli bir geri dönüş, kaç novella okudum bu seride bilmiyorum. Bu sefer de Joss, Ellie'nin ev arkadaşı ilanına cevap vermese ne olurdu onu görüyoruz. Kitabın yazarı aslında Joss, ilk okuyan Braden oluyor. Ve kaderin garip cilvesiyle 8 sene geçmiş olsa da yine de birbirlerini bulmayı başarıyorlar. Karakterlere geri dönmek güzel ama bence tadında kalmalı artık. Çocuklar büyüdü neredeyse, korkarım bi de onlara seri yapar yazar.

Es fällt mir echt nicht leicht dieses Buch zu bewerten. Ich liebe Joss und - besonders - Braden und habe Dublin Street schon einige Male gelesen.
Deswegen habe ich mich natürlich sehr über diese Novella gefreut, insbesondere da mir die anderen Novellas der Autorin sehr gut gefallen haben.
Am besten gefallen hat mir wohl das erste und das letzte Kapitel, denn das waren Joss und Braden wie ich sie kenne :)
Die Alternativgeschichte der beiden fand ich hingegen nicht so toll. Klar sie sind sich unter anderen Umständen begegnet und waren auch schon einige Jahre älter, aber das war einfach nicht mein Braden. :(
Deswegen kann ich diesem eBook nur 3,5 Sterne geben. Wäre es in der Geschichte nicht um Joss und Braden gegangen, hätte sie mir vermutlich sogar ganz gut gefallen. Aber es waren nunmal Joss und Braden ;)

Of all the romance novels I have read, and it's a lot, On Dublin Street is one of my all time favorites. I adore the whole series, but ODS in particular holds a special place in my heart. Joss and Braden are my gold standard of what the main characters in a romance should be. She is somewhat tortured over her loss, he is cocky but not arrogant. The depth is amazing with these two. And to behold this new novella dedicated to them....I was giddy. It did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I felt the pain and the joy, and I understood. ODS was an incredible emotional journey, as was this clever "rewrite" of the lovers' story under the guise of Joss writing a book about her own history if one moment in time had never happened. It was perfection. Oh please Samantha Young write more Joss and Braden!

The more I read of Braden and Joss the more I love them. This time their story is told in a WHAT IF but honestly I don’t think I’d prefer this one but how the original is written. I loved the laughs their family and ofc the hot and steamy $$xy scenes but it’s still an enjoyable novella.

My first husband, Braden Carmichael, is still hot after all these years. I love this alternate reality story to Joss x Braden's love story, although like the couple, I still prefer their original love story. Braden having a fit after finishing the story because he reckoned he'd choose Joss first in all the universes is so cute I love him so much-

Very sweet and heart warming alternate narration of the Dublin Street first book. There's this heroine-as-a-writer device to present the novella as a what-if literary exercise by Jocelyn herself.

Such a cool way to give us a novella about my favorite couple, but I love their real story much more. The only change I realized is, that in their real story I connected with Braden and here I liked Joss more :)

Normally I really enjoy these little novellas, that complement a story I liked. And I loved the story of Joss and Braden, to this day it is one of my favorites books and I regulary re-read it. The also enjoyed the novella Castle Hill although lots of drama.
This one didn't feel like Joss and Braden for me. And I think this was my biggest problem. The story itself was absolutely decent, if I read it without knowing the characters it would have been a quick nice read.
But I couldn't really connect that Braden with the Braden I know. And yes I know people change, and yes, I know he is a lot older and in a different situation. But I get why he gets angry about his depiction. I couldn't connect to him anymore and that took a lot of my reading fun.
I think everybody that loves this series will definitely enjoy this new novella, but for me it fell a little flat, it was too hard connecting the characters with their "what if" versions, I didn't have quite the fun I was expecting to have.

Este es un relato que debe leerse luego de "One King's Way" y si os soy sincera me ha gustado bastante. Es muy corto de leer y la verdad temía que se me hiciera un poco apresurado, pero todo lo contrario. Aquí vemos un concepto que no me esperaba y me ha llamado la atención, poniéndonos en la piel de un "Y si" que ni yo me había replanteado.
La trama me ha gustado bastante, creo en lo personal que ha sido una idea bastante original que me habría gustado incluso que se desarrollase en más páginas para mayor disfrute. Aquí vemos un poco la posibilidad de si ambos personajes se hubieran conocido en otra circunstancia y mucho más tarde, lo que te permite conectar también con esa nueva idea que se le ocurre a la protagonista. El mensaje que se deja de que ambos son almas gemelas y que sin importar la forma o día se habrían vuelto a encontrar, me ha encantado.
Los personajes me han encantado en este relato y creo que ha sido en parte la ayuda que me ha dado que ambos fueran más adultos y maduros en esta versión. He conectado mejor con la manera en que se desarrollaba todo y cómo no le daban dramas innecesarios a la historia para alargar la trama de aquí a la saciedad. El romance también me ha sorprendido porque lo he visto muy natural y he conectado bastante con ellos y la forma en que poco a poco se iba desarrollando todo entre ellos.
La pluma de la autora me ha gustado mucho en este relato porque siento sinceramente que se ahonda muy bien las emociones de los dos personajes, incluso diría que lo hace mejor que en el propio libro de ellos.
Ahora os hablaré un poco de los personajes principales.
Por un lado tenemos a Jocelyn, nuestra protagonista femenina. Ella es una chica que siempre tuvo miedo, eso era una realidad que jamás pudo rechazar y de no haber sido por Braden y Ellie, jamás habría saltado aquel obstáculo que le impedía ser feliz en su vida. Ahora está felizmente casada y tiene una familia que no cambiaría por nada ni nadie jamás. Uno que relatará cómo habría sido la historia de Braden y ella si se hubieran conocido años más tarde y cómo habría llegado a nacer su historia de amor. ¿Serían capaces entonces de sortear cada uno de esos miedos como en la realidad?
Jocelyn es un personaje que en el primer libro le tomé mucho cariño, aunque no fuera mi primera favorita de la saga, pero en este relato creo que he llegado a hacerlo mucho más. Me ha gustado porque al igual que con Braden, siento que la relación de ambos es mucho más madura, sin dramas un poco innecesarios (algunos del primer libro me lo parecían así) y el romance se desarrolla de una forma un poco más interesante y llamativa. Me ha gustado el concepto de imaginar cómo habría sido si ambos no se conociesen de la forma que lo hacen en el libro original, sino que hubiese sido años más tardes y con unas vidas hechas tras tanto tiempo. Me ha sorprendido darme cuenta de que en verdad Jocelyn mantenía ese temor pero supo sobrellevarlo de una forma algo más adulta y no como lo hace en el otro libro. Ese detalle me gustó porque se nota la diferencia de edades y cómo aquí manejó las cosas con una actitud un poco más adulta y firme que me gustó más. Que aunque existía el miedo, fue capaz de dejar clara su postura y todo lo que estaba sintiendo. Así que sí, Jocelyn en este libro se ha ganado mucho más mi cariño y admiración como personaje.
Por otro lado tenemos a Braden, nuestro protagonista masculino. De él no os puedo hablar demasiado ya que lo que os cuente puede ser considerado spoiler porque no tiene punto de vista. Así que os contaré un poco sobre él y mi opinión general del personaje.
Braden es un personaje que en este libro me ha gustado mucho más, pero porque creo que le han dado una ambientación algo más profunda y real. Hay cosas que ya se sabían del primer libro, pero otras que son añadidos diferentes por los años que supuestamente han pasado en ese libro antes de ambos conocerse. Ha sido curioso imaginarme a un Braden teniendo una hija antes de Jocelyn y una personalidad mucho más adulta y no tan de ir a por todo lo que se mueve sin piedad. Creo que ha sido una conducta, de hecho, que me ha atraído más que el Braden joven que era en el primero. También noté mucho más la química entre ambos y la forma de enamorarse se me hizo más real y sincera. Lo único que quizá me ha faltado fue ver un poco más de la reacción a esa historia en el presente, ya que aunque el último capítulo me ha gustado, me esperaba una interacción algo más amplia entre la pareja con ese libro que acababa de leer él. En general ha sido un personaje que me ha calado mucho más hondo en este relato y del que me he encariñado muchísimo más.
En resumen, "Stars Over Castle Hill" es un relato que me ha sorprendido de forma muy positiva. Por lo que dicen, el orden de este relato ha de leerse luego de terminar el de "One King's Way", así que así lo hice. La trama me ha gustado muchísimo y me ha pillado de sorpresa todo lo que me he encontrado entre sus páginas. Yo me esperaba que la historia iba a ir del presente de ambos cuando me he encontrado la grata sorpresa de que no, de que la historia iba a ir de algo mucho más profundo como es el hecho de que hay personas que están predestinadas a encontrarse y eso es algo en lo que yo creo y me parece precioso. Así que cuando vi que la autora hacía que la propia Jocelyn crease una historia donde qué habría pasado si Braden y ella no se hubieran conocido de la forma que lo hicieron, sino más tarde y en otras circunstancias, hizo que me encantase aun más su concepto. Los personajes me han calado muy hondo y me han gustado incluso más que en la obra original, creo que por la madurez que tienen aquí y la manera en que manejan todo, que es mucho más adulta y firme que en algunas circunstancias del otro libro. También me ha gustado sentir que aquí el desarrollo de conocerse me pareció algo más natural y hasta un poco tierno, especialmente porque hubo cambios en ellos debido a los años que pasan en este tiempo paralelo. El romance también me ha encantado y he conectado mucho más con la forma en que ambos se empiezan a enamorar del otro. Se me ha hecho más natural y hasta bonita, así que he terminado conectando mejor con ello. La pluma de la autora me ha gustado bastante porque siento que aquí expresó muy bien todas las emociones de los personajes y aunque es un relato muy cortito, no he sentido ninguna escena demasiado apresurada.
Este es un relato que debe leerse luego de "One King's Way" y si os soy sincera me ha gustado bastante. Es muy corto de leer y la verdad temía que se me hiciera un poco apresurado, pero todo lo contrario. Aquí vemos un concepto que no me esperaba y me ha llamado la atención, poniéndonos en la piel de un "Y si" que ni yo me había replanteado.
La trama me ha gustado bastante, creo en lo personal que ha sido una idea bastante original que me habría gustado incluso que se desarrollase en más páginas para mayor disfrute. Aquí vemos un poco la posibilidad de si ambos personajes se hubieran conocido en otra circunstancia y mucho más tarde, lo que te permite conectar también con esa nueva idea que se le ocurre a la protagonista. El mensaje que se deja de que ambos son almas gemelas y que sin importar la forma o día se habrían vuelto a encontrar, me ha encantado.
Los personajes me han encantado en este relato y creo que ha sido en parte la ayuda que me ha dado que ambos fueran más adultos y maduros en esta versión. He conectado mejor con la manera en que se desarrollaba todo y cómo no le daban dramas innecesarios a la historia para alargar la trama de aquí a la saciedad. El romance también me ha sorprendido porque lo he visto muy natural y he conectado bastante con ellos y la forma en que poco a poco se iba desarrollando todo entre ellos.
La pluma de la autora me ha gustado mucho en este relato porque siento sinceramente que se ahonda muy bien las emociones de los dos personajes, incluso diría que lo hace mejor que en el propio libro de ellos.

Unless a story is written about their demise, I could read about Joss, Braden & their lovely children until I take my last breath. After all these years, this couple is still head over heels in love with one another and the smutty sexual banter never fails to make an appearance. Their children mirror their personalities in so many ways which is very entertaining as well as touching. Joss is asked to write a short story about a life changing event and what could have happened if she chose to take herself in another direction. Would she have met Braden or Ellie? Would she still be working at the bar? There were a few things that I wasn't pleased with in the alternative story but you'll not find any spoilers here. This should be read with a clear mind and the reader left to decide for themselves to like/dislike
Jocelyn's version of another life or a similar one. I love Samantha Young's contemporary romance novels so I am a little biased. I truly enjoyed this and could always read more.
