Jordan has a prophecy to fulfill, she has led her people out. Obviously they are not in the clear, always danger ahead. An amazing fantasy with enough magic to keep you wanting more when you've done reading Received an ARC and was a pleasure to review

Not so smooth sailing...

The second book in the Mysterium Chronicles finds the heroine Jordan Temple becoming more comfortable in her role as the Chosen One. Trying to escape from the clutches of Magnus and his operatives, she guides the flotilla of Ancients down the River Elin toward the Ancients' homeland.

But it won't be easy as she battles her way toward the Rankin Gate. Paranormal creatures from various cities keep interfering, especially in the city of Endor. With her posse of Chloe, Benjamin, Matthias, and CeeCee, she may find the resources... or not.

Magic, enchantresses, evil witches, shifters, and more make for an exciting, heart racing read leaving readers enthralled and on the edge. Will she or won't she complete her quest? Will the Ancients find their mythical city again?

While the story is complete as is, the ending is a cliffhanger, setting up the reader to eagerly await the next book. Simone Pond, this reader is on tenterhooks! As will everyone who reads the series, and this reader says, "Do it." Highly recommended, a fun urban fantasy read with excellent baddies. Magnus is evil, but Glendora, who is the predominant evil character in this one, may be worse. Decide for yourself... read them both in anticipation of the third story.

River of Magic is such an intense sequel! The suspense had me anxiously plowing through the story to see what happens next. I love that Simone introduced a new villain who happens to be connected to the head villain, Magnus. The viciousness of Magnus’s character really drew me in and had me afraid for the characters I have already grown to love. My anxiety levels while reading this were off the charts, but I enjoyed every single minute of it! The ending is definitely one of my favorites. I love how it beautifully sets up the plot for the next in series. I was really sad when the time on my kindle ran out because the ending was SO good. I refuse to give away any spoilers, but I will tell you that it only makes you crave the final book in the series more! I can’t wait for Simone to release Wrath of Magic!

I received a copy and volunteered to review it.

Chosen One has a big responsibility. She finds a way to save her people and bring them to their original home. I recommend this book. It is worth the 5 star.

Such an intense sequel jam packed full of action! Jordan is committed to fulfilling the prophecy and bringing the Ancients to the portal of the city from the prophecy, their original home.

The only problem? Magnus is still determined to stop Jordan and there are many enemies and other issues that will affect her and her cohorts. This sequel was fantastic and had more world building of some of the other cities in the Confederated Six. And boy did it pack a magical punch! You can also see the frienship between her new allies has strengthened and also Jordan's confidence as well as her faith in the role she has to play.

Cant wait to read the third installment!

I recived a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
