There is a place called Black Pine Falls.
A place where everything looks like a shadow of something else. The trees like tall, stiff men in the dark. A forest of people, hiding in mist. Huge caves like open mouths. Somewhere the rush of water.
You might go looking for it.

Tales of Black Pine Falls is a teasing world-builder of mystery, suspense, adventure and supernatural horror inspired by the likes of Twin Peaks, Alan Wake, Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall and Stephen King. Each tale is a short serialised vignette without chronology, each little piece expanding the world and its characters, fitting like a jigsaw into a bigger picture.

Explore the strange town of Black Pine Falls, and find out what's hiding in the trees.

Good buildup but no payoff!

The story started good with the father warning his daughter to stay away from the window because the bogeyman will get her. The tension was building but story ended with no payoff.

I read this as the first chapter of 3 in "Tales of Black Pine Falls, Volume 1", which are interconnected by characters.

I was intrigued and excited about the society and history of the place (Atticus wrote all the books?), but this was never expanded upon.

As another reviewer stated it has a great build-up, but the ending is very deflating.

However, if Black Pine Falls is expanded (and on Kindle Unlimited), I would not hesitate to read the series.
