Introducing the "Regency Fire" Series - Discover NOW The New Regency Romance Series by Bridget Barton!

Lovely - Romantic - Exciting!

Hugh Farrington, charming and handsome, had never been much interested in the feud which seemed to determine his family’s every movement. Aunt Verity, whose death had been the very cause of it all, was a woman unknown to him; she was so distant now as to seem little more than a fictional character.

When his older brother, the Duke of Calgarth, sets him a mission to find out more about the copper mining interests of their greatest enemy, the Duke of Horndean, Hugh finds himself drawn towards another distraction entirely; Miss Serena Edison. Witty, intelligent, and beautiful, Serena wins his heart almost immediately, and Hugh can see his old ways slowly turning to dust.

But can love really run so smoothly? Especially when their enemy knows of Hugh’s interference in their copper mining schemes, as well as his growing love for Serena. In the end, Serena must learn to trust in order to keep the one man she has truly connected with in her entire life, but how much will it take to overcome the interference of so cruel an adversary? And with his own heart at stake, can Hugh do whatever he must to stay loyal to his family and the decades-old feud?

Delightful

I love historical stories and the English provide the most delicious and deceitful hidden under proper decorum of course. I can't wait to find out what happens next in this series.

Action and adventure

Book 1 left me hanging and desperately wanting more of Abigail and the Duke's story. Book 2 didn't disappoint as Abigail flees, and the Duke pursues her. A variety of characters enter their story, but will justice be served and will love prevail?

Fire Indeed

Romance at it’s best. Each page makes you want more. It has all of the elements that are needed in a good read.

Too short

Not enough character development. Although Iikeable I feel Hugh and Serena deserved more of a story, but I haven't finished the series yet. It was a fun story which is the reason for the rating.

My Thoughts:

These episodes in the Regency Fire books seem to be better by the parts.
Hugh never expects to fall in love but from the moment he meets Serena he is smitten. Serena is witty, intelligent, and beautiful and she wins his heart almost immediately. Hugh knows his old ways have turned to dust.
Will Serena be able to trust Hugh after hearing the rumors of his past that are spread by family enemies.
I thought this second episode in this series of novellas to be even better than the first one. I gave this one 4 of 5 stars for character development and storyline. This again is essentially a sweet/clean romance title with only a subtle heat implied.
I borrowed this title via the Kindle Unlimited plan to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title and I have left this review voluntarily.
