Eve's Christmas Blessing

Eve Gingrich has only been married a few months to a widower with four children. It’s not easy to try to take the place of a beloved mother who passed away in her thirties, but Eve has a wonderful heart and puts everything into her marriage as she attempts to bond with each of the children.
When Hosea proposed, it was more for the children’s sake than for himself. The couple knew each other for only a brief time. After a disappointing relationship earlier in her life, Eve had accepted the single life, though now she had an opportunity to perhaps find love. The holidays are a difficult time for all, but two years have passed since their mother died and the children, ranging in age from six to sixteen, each respond to Eve in different ways.
Though a mother and wife can never be replaced, will Eve be able to make a difference in the lives of this hurting family?

June Bryan Belfie began writing in her 70s and has written over 30 books. Her Amish novels became best sellers on Amazon Kindle, and her work has been published with both Harlequin and Desert Breeze. You can find most of her books available at Barnes and Nobles in paperback or e-book. Soon audio books will be available for some of her Amish and Christian-based novels.

While raising five children, June found time to take up oil painting and studied under several nationally known artists. She also loved to play the piano, sing, and sew.

In the 1970’s, she and her husband, Jim, purchased and operated a thirty-eight-room country inn located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania where she established an art gallery as well as creative workshops, which took place in a converted recreation hall. Professional artists and writers from all over the country presided over classes held during the summer months.

In addition to inn-keeping, Ms. Belfie has owned a restaurant, cooked professionally, worked in a bank, collected and sold antiques, directed a church choir, and served as a Stephen's Minister.

She enjoys her eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as her adult children and their spouses. She now resides in Media, Pennsylvania.

Its all about love!

Eve's Christmas Blessing is an outstanding eBook written by June Bryan Belfie. I have enjoyed many books by this author and this one is no exception. The characters were so likeable and realistic that I felt like I was right there watching their amazing story unfold. My favorite character was Eve because she did a wonderful thing by marring Hosea who she hardly knew. This act of kindness would reap it's own reward.

I also enjoyed the character of little Luke, he was so loving and accepting that he helped his family heal and come together. Out of the mouths of babes comes to mind when I think of him. Rachel the eldest daughter is the hold out in the family. She feels left out and unwanted. What Eve does to try to win her over is held off and leaves Eve wondering if it will ever change.

I love reading Christmas stories and this one left me feeling peace, love, and joy the day before Christmas. This book really hits home with the wonder of a loving family. I highly recommend this story to all readers.

I did receive this eBook free from the author thru Amazon. I was not approached at any time to post a favorable review. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of an outstanding story that I will be recommending to other readers. All statements and opinions expressed are strictly my own based on this amazing book.

Congratulations to June Bryan Belfie for writing another wonderful book for her readers to enjoy at a very special time of the year. I will be anticipating more books by this author in the future.

Interesting because of my roots

This story maybe of interest to someone not familiar with the Amish. For me having Amish roots and knowing the Pennsylvania Deutsch I found it humorous that she got the words for girl and girls mixed up. Just a few things tell me that a little more research might be good. Though there are exceptions, most Amish won't be extremely affectionate. I treasure my roots and am grateful that she didn't make light of the Amish. So I'm a bad critic to have. A sweet story though of a stepmother winning the hearts of her family.

Eve hadn’t married at thirty eight, when the bishop came and asked her to consider a marriage. A widower with four children, a few meetings with Hosea, they wed. To nourish them with love, and home cooked meals to her husband a man of few words, or smiles. Come Christmas and the news she gave him, could they have a home of love. Nice reading of a family learning to heal and build a memories around a step mother.
