A must have!

When I got the opportunity to get this book, I jumped at the chance! I have been reading The Heart-Shaped Life Devotional this whole past year and I absolutely love it. This prayer book is the perfect companion for the devotional. Karen Moore has a way of helping every day life and it's ups and downs make sense. Both books, added to your daily Bible reading, is a great way to start your day. I highly recommend both.

This is a precious little book of prayers, including a scripture verse for each prayer. Some may think they don't need written prayers and we should never depend on them exclusively, but these prayers sometimes fit when we just don't have the words we need. I found great comfort in them.

With its whimsical hardcover "Prayers For a Heart-Shaped Life" by author Karen Moore will catch your attention. Hot pink heart hot air balloons and flowers along with blue balloons and puffy clouds just make this cover happy. The small but mighty book is brimming full with 200 prayers that are "inspiring for living life heart first." I was won over by the cover. Then I started reading......oh my! I was so hooked. It is 224 pages and I wanted more.

Author Moore has written a book to bring other closer to God. It is a God glorifying book meant to strengthen or even establish a relationship with our loving Father. The 200 prayers are set up as daily devotions. Each page has a title, scripture, and prayer. The prayer cuts to the chase. On the day "Doing the Right Thing" the scripture is James 4:17 (Remember it is sin to know what to do and then not do it.) and the prayer begins "Dear Lord, I have sinned against You...". Wow, total honesty. Our God already know that anyway, but He just wants us to admit it to Him and ourselves. All of the prayers are like this, meant to draw us closer to God.

This beautifully inspiring book opens with a note to readers from author Moore. She starts it with "Dear Friends" and through her heartfelt writing becomes one. She seems to know with what readers are struggling. Topics are relevant and meaningful. The prayers are encouraging and lead to waiting more time with our Heavenly Father. It concludes with a prayer from Martin Luther and then has a scripture index.

Moore's prayers will lead you into a special time with the Heavenly father and gently remind you to come to Him when you need an extra dose of encouragement. The prayers are titled so you can find a particular prayer to fit a particular need if you desire. I love the simpleness of the prayers as well as the encouragement and inspiration they contain.

There is a silky green ribbon attached to mark your place. The prayers are not complicated or overthought, but they are sincere and moving. The issues are real. Some days I read prayers over and over again. I read them to help me or to a friend that needed encouragement. The intent of this prayer book is to lead us to God each day and live our lives with our hearts. We should give our hearts to God and watch where He takes us. Talk about inspiring and encouraging. This is it! I loved it. It is definitely a 5 star recommendation from me. I will be giving some for Christmas as well as keeping one for myself.

My Review:

Prayer is used for so many things but when you are backed in a corner or up against a way prayer is what you rely on most definitely. It can mean everything to someone that is hurting for someone to pray for them or even say that they will pray for them. In Karen Morre's book, Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life she shows you how to incorporate prayers into your every day life by giving you the scripture and then a prayer.



I was glad that they were not short simple prayers. Sometimes a girl needs a little bit more information to give to God. These prayers do just that. Some of them are 17 lines long or more. Really good thorough praying helps God to see where your heart is truly at. These prayers help you develop a relationship of love and fun that will last generations. This book is small enough to fit in your purse so you can take it everywhere with you. Great for a gift, too!

With a beautiful hardcover" Prayers For a Heart- Shaped Life" by author Karen Moore will catch your attention and heart. The beautiful hot pink heart balloons and flowers along with small blue balloons make this just a feel good book on the side, but a mighty book on the side. With over 200 prayers, you'll be inspired to seek God in a a new way. The prayers are beautiful and you'll crave time in the presence of the Lord.
Karen has written a book to bring people close to God. This book is mean to strengthen your relationship with God. You can either read the 200 prayers as a daily devotional, which is how it is set up. Each page has a title, scripture and a prayer. If you don't want to read it daily, you could read it weekly too and it would take you longer to get through, but God wants to talk to you daily.
The topics inside this little prayer book are heartfelt and relevant. Moore knows women and knows her readers. The prayers themselves are a great way to change your mood and give you a boost of encouragement. They will lead you into time with your heavenly father. If you are looking for an area of encouragement, you can find a particular topic if you look at the titles. I also love the extra touch of a green book marker attached. This is such a great prayer book and would be great as a gift item! I give this 5/5 stars.

“Prayers for Heart-Shaped Life” would make a wonderful addition to your daily quiet time with God. Covering many subjects and with Scriptures from well over half the books of the Bible, this book is packed full of inspiration. The daily Scriptures and prayers can help draw you into a closer relationship with your Savior, perhaps inspiring you to journal your own Scripture-inspired prayers. Penned by well-known author and speaker, Karen Moore (who also teaches a course on writing greeting cards), it is bound to become a favorite of many readers looking for a way to spice up their daily devotional time. It would make a great gift for someone in your life who is either new to the concept of devotional time, or just wants another source to add to theirs. Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life by Karen Moore is a joyous book about faith and love.
If you feel like you need a little extra love with an extra helping of spirituality and a path forward this is the book for you. At times our own well runs dry and this book, with over 200 prayers, will fill your well once more. This book is not meant to read in one sitting. It is more like a small daily dose would enrich your life and help you to become more prayerful. The focus of the prayers is to encourage you to live your life using your heart. Each prayer has a related scripture selection. Ms. Moore has a wonderful way of speaking to your heart. The book is well written and each ‘daily dose’ feels like the dust is being removed and your mind becomes clearer and closer to God.

Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life: Inspiring Prayers for Living Life Heart First by Karen Moore is a hardcover book of over 200 prayers and includes a light green ribbon bookmark so you can easily find where you left off reading. The cover is very pretty and the text is easy to read. Each prayer starts off with an applicable Bible verse and each prayer is like a conversation with a treasured and beloved friend. Each five minute reading is perfect to start off your day with on the right foot. The only drawback was the use of different Biblical translations, I'm sure it was to aid the reader to understand each verse better, but I would have personally preferred the use of one or two translations only. This book would make a great gift for Christmas to start off 2018 with and I highly recommend it.

Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life is a collection of over 200 prayers to help us in our talks with God. Some of these prayers are self-centered, some are petitions for others and some are prayers of praise and admiration. Author Karen Moore has also chosen Bible scripture applicable to those prayers and there is a Scripture index to help if the reader wants to use this book during their Bible study time. Some may consider this a devotional and others may call it a study guide on prayer; either way it is a great resource! Its attractive hardback cover makes it perfect for gift giving and it can easily be carried in a purse or bag for busy people on the go. Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life may be small in size but it is huge in content!

This book was such a blessing. Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life: Inspiring Prayers for Living Life Heart First, by Karen Moore was a good surprise for me. I don’t usually pray other people prayers. So I thought I’m not too sure about this book. But I found each page has a scripture and then a heart-felt prayer, and I found out as I read that it was like I was praying with a friend, or even better a three-way conversation including God. Her words expressed my heart and I found myself agreeing with them, adding on to them and just continuing on in my communication with my Father. I do recommend this book. She also wrote The Heart-Shaped Life Daily Devotional: Choosing a life of Steadfast Love One Day at a Time that I also recommend.

In this beautiful book are hundreds of simple heartfelt prayers. They cover a variety of topics and are easy to understand and pray out. Each page has a verse or two first then the prayer pertaining to the verse. There is a verse index in the back of the book organized by Bible books in order. This book is great for new believers or those want to learn how to pray. I felt like some of them could have been stronger in terms of theology but I could see the authors thought process and understand their simplicity. Great for learning to pray.

Classy book that very effectively complements the daily devotional for a Heart Shaped Life. The focus of this book is on prayer with each page featuring a verse(s), followed by a prayer and it's set up to read a page per day. Recommend for anyone that would like to grow in their prayer life as this format would be great devotional aid. I write out the verse for the day and then meditate on it and then read the prayer out loud to God as it goes right along with the verse for the day.

Topics are many and include: waiting on God, promises of God, our thought life, forgiveness, trials, loving others, crying out to God, fear and so much more. This would make an excellent gift idea for Christian friends, family, Sundau school teachers etc. includes a fabric bookmarker.

I absolutely love this little book! It is written so that you can read any of the prayers on any day of the month, and if you skip one or two days it doesn't matter because none of them are dated. This is a great little devotional to read along with your Bible because each day has its own Bible verse, and a prayer that corresponds with it. The Bible verses do not use just one translation, so I found it interesting to see how certain versions were written.

This book reminds me so much of My Utmost For His Highest, & if I could afford it, I would send all of my friends a copy because I think they would also like it as much as I do.

A lovely hard copy book with a ribbon book mark, this book would be wonderful as a gift, or of course to keep for yourself. It truly is beautiful and just the right size. The inside pages consist of a single prayer on a page with a corresponding scripture verse. There are a total of 200 prayers on many different subjects.

Very simply written, author Karen Moore gets to the heart of life. Encouraged by the author to talk with God on a daily basis, this sweetly written book will only enrich your prayer life by helping you pray on a variety of topics.

Karen Moore's book, Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life is full of nuggets that will warm your heart at times. Some of those nuggets open up your heart to see, hear and feel God in a unique way.

It looks like a little book but it is very big on what is inside the many prayers, over 200 of them.

I felt so blessed reading the prayers. At times, I felt awakened, making me think. Many times, I felt the prayer was from me to God.

This is a special book. Good for a gift. Good for ourselves.

First off I have to mention how much I like the cover of this uplifting book. Once opening the pages and reading the prayers I have fallen in love with the book, it's set up like daily devotions and oh, how they point one to and glorify God. Very inspiring to say the least and definitely not short little snippets. There's enough heartfelt emotion in the author's words that you cannot help being drawn to our heavenly Father. Refreshing and enjoyable.

As one who has never had the privilege of reading anything by Karen Moore, I am finding this little book a wonderful addition to my daily devotions. The prayers are easy to understand and relate so well to what I am dealing with every day. Sometimes it is so difficult to find the words when in prayer. Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life reminds us of the importance of sharing our heart with our Heavenly Father. I have enjoyed reading Moore’s encouraging thoughts and prayers and am endeavoring to be more purposeful in my own daily prayer life. “As it says in James 4:8 (NKJV), ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.’” Including more than 200 prayers, Prayers for a Heart-Shaped Life is a lovely book and an inspiration for greater heartfelt living and prayer.

What a great little companion book to go with your devotional or Bible Study. Each page has a scripture with a beautifully written prayer to accompany it. Sometimes we can’t find the words and these prayers are comforting. I will keep this on my end table to enjoy daily. Well done.

Karen Moore has written a book of prayers that will add to your daily time with God. Each prayer has a scripture with it and then reads like a prayer journal. It encourages the reader to spend more time with God and to keep your own prayer journal. The details in the journal are very heart-touching and lend themselves to further thought and study of the Scriptures. There is humor as well as honesty throughout this book of prayers, so that the reader is involved in the life of the author and compares oneself and one’s own life to hers. All in all, this book lends itself to having all of us take an honest look at our prayer life and our relationship with God.

As the author, Karen Moore, states, “It’s always a good day to have a little chat with God.” And in this book of prayers she gives 200 short prayers that will enrich your spirit and encourage your walk with God. Each prayer is prefaced with a verse from the Scriptures and the prayer then relates to that scripture. Moore begins with prayers that remind the reader to wait expectantly for the Lord and seek His kindness and favor. There are prayers of praise for a beautiful day, of thanksgiving for His forgiveness for our foolishness, reminders to live wholeheartedly and as a messenger of hope to others. Other prayers speak to having a courageous heart, a humble heart, a noble and good heart, and an honest and hopeful heart. This book of prayers, perhaps to be given as a gift or used personally, is not a book to be read at one sitting but to be savored on a regular basis. As a concluding reminder of God’s faithfulness in hearing our prayers, a prayer for a heart shaped life written by Martin Luther is included. “All who call on God in true faith earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired, although not in the hour or in the measure or the very thing which they ask; yet they will obtain something greater and more glorious than they had dared to ask.”
