IF Anthology #3

IF Anthology: Crime

Rate this book
"IF"—the word itself has helped make the impossible become possible. 2017's anthology explores the theme of "crime"—from the impact that it has on the lives it affects, the psychological and sociological factors that lead people down its path, to the way people deal with being victimized. Crime-fighting has long been a staple of comic book storytelling, and this thrilling and thought-provoking graphic novel anthology is no exception to that rule.

A lot of stories, varying in length and some are good some bad but I enjoyed it overall. For the price you can't go wrong with it, the only downside is some of these titles you would wanna read more of but it seems that isn't possible as they are not ongoing series or never made it off the ground.

A decent read this is a collection of short stories by various authors in the publisher's house. I'd only heard of two, but no matter I enjoyed most stories. They are all very short so rely on plot to capture your attention. The theme of crime is consistent with only a couple crossing over into paranormal. For a book with so many illustrators, it manages to be cohesive throughout with illustration styles. It's a big book and decent read.

This is a pretty nifty collection of 38 graphic short stories, all having to do with crime. It’s definitely more adult-themed than the sci-fi collection. I liked all the different twists and art styles, but a handful of the stories fell flat.

There’s some talent here, evident in several stories, but this anthology values quantity over quality so the good bits are drowned in the flood of grit and blood.
