"Abbie Williams is an author who excels at the romance genre. Her Shore Leave Cafe Romance series is a showcase for her ability to weave a contemporary tapestry, complete with rich characters, vivid settings and seductive moods." ― Dean Mayes, Author The Hambledown Dream, Gifts of the Peramangk, The Recipient, The Artisan Heart
A devastating fire and unanswered questions have left Tish Gordon reeling. With her true love in critical condition in a Montana hospital, and secrets from the past and present continuing to haunt her, Tish is more determined than ever to prove just who is responsible for this destruction in her life.
Tish's family has come from Minnesota to be at her side, including her younger sister Ruthann, who Marshall Rawley has been in love with for years. Ruthann, just a step away from being engaged to her boyfriend back home, wants only to help Tish discover answers. What Ruthann is not expecting to find is a mysterious, dangerous link to the past, and a powerful love that not even time can destroy.
A story about heartbreak, blame, family, destiny, and the difficulties of returning home, Until Tomorrow is the seventh book in A Shore Leave Cafe Romance series.
A Shore Leave Cafe Romance 1. Summer at the Shore Leave Cafe 2. Second Chances 3. A Notion of Love 4. Winter at the White Oaks Lodge 5. Wild Flower 6. The First Law of Love 7. Until Tomorrow 8. The Way Back 9. Return to Yesterday
The story continues in her most recent novel, A Place to Belong.
Also from Abbie Williams, The Dove Saga 1. Heart of a Dove 2. Soul of a Crow 3. Grace of a Hawk
The story begins right where the last book ended with Tish Gordon and Case Spicer in the midst of a devastating fire. As Tish stands vigil at Case’s bedside, her family and the Rawleys are there with her. Ruthann finally has to face her connection to Marshall Rawley and the phenomena to the past that her sisters experienced before her.
As with the previous two stories, the connection to the past and the Dove Trilogy makes this a more fascinating tale. I’m enjoying that aspect and was challenged trying to figure out the angles. There was a lot more tension and suspense as the danger was very real in the present. Ruthann and Marshall’s relationship was shadowed by hers with Liam who prior to this story was her main focus. I must admit, I’m not a fan of love triangles and this one bothered me as I couldn’t stop thinking about poor Liam as Ruthann and Marshall’s relationship intensified. It kept me from being invested in their feelings for each other.
I enjoyed the story despite the triangle aspect and the fact that this ends in a cliffhanger. I’d suspected as much so it didn’t come as a surprise. This is an interesting series with strong family connections, past and present. It’s a unique storytelling approach, enhanced by my reading of the connected series at the same time. 3.5 stars
(I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review)
Book 7 in the Shore Leave Café series and each one just keeps getting better. This book is more about Tish and Case and Ruthann and Marshall's stories. After a devastating fire puts Case in hospital, Ruthann comes to Jalesville to comfort and help Tish out while Case is in hospital.
She has every intention to return home but when she sets eyes on Marshall again after his visit many years ago, she finds feelings start to develop and knows she will find it very hard to go back to her relationship with Liam and her old life.
Once again there are many players from the Dove series and trying to figure out the how they are all connected to the people from the past and where their destinies lie is becoming harder than they could ever imagine. Who can be trusted and how far will people go to get their hands on the Rawley and Spicer land? There is much danger ahead and the Davis women and Rawley/Spicer men are uncertain what roles they play in the past and where it leads them all into their future.
I am absolutely loving this series and cannot wait for the last two books in the series to be written to finally find out the fate of these wonderful characters.
Thanks so much to Netgalley and Central Avenue Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this great book.
Very good read. I suggest reading this series from the beginning . I asked to review it before I knew it was a cliff hanger with lots of other books. I hate cliffhangers and can not afford to buy that many books. That said It was a good book and I consider it good writing. A little confusing coming into it in the middle. It has excitement, suspense, hot, heart ache, sweetness and so much more. I was given a review copy by Net Galley and voluntarily review it.
I have to admit I have not read any other of this series, but it was recommended to me, I will definitely have to now. This book was so good and so HOT!!!! I have to backtrack and read the others. Highly recommend. The only problem is this ends on a total cliffhanger and the next one isn't OUT YET.
Patricia/Tish knew she had past lives and at least one of the she had already been with Case but his name was Cole. Tish had seen Cash at her older sister’s - Camille’s wedding when she was eighteen. and had been a bridesmaid. Case had told Tish he loved her but she hadn’t listened. Tish was a lawyer and worked for Al Home. Tish had given up a law career in Chicago and moved to Jalesville. Tish lived in a trailer with Case. They had several animals in their barn. Tish woke from a nightmare, and noticed the barn was on fire which held their animals. Case went out to save the animals but passed out after freeing the animals and Tish hadn’t listened to Cash and went to the barn found Cash passed out and the barn caving in from the fire and she dragged Cash outside and she saved Cash’s life. Tish had burned her lungs and Cash was in a coma. Tish’s father has been a lawyer for twenty years. Then Tish told her dad sub company was buying up an inoperative power plant and its surrounding land. But Tish’s dad found it odd Ron hadn’t told him when Tish had went to Jalesville specifically to counteract Capital Overland’s activities. Tish had stumbled onto Redd company was part of Ron’s holding. Her dad didn’t want to believe Ron Turnbull had ulterior motives concerning Tish’s presence in Jalesville. Also that Ron might have taken advantage of her. Ron Turnbull was dangerous. Tish wondered if Ron hadn’t had the fire started to warn Tish. Case was Marshall’s best friend and he spent night’s in Case’s room with Tish. Marshall had claimed Ruthann was his a long time ago. But Ruth always had the same boyfriend -Liam although this time she felt a certain pull to Marshall that she doesn’t understand. Tish’s family had come from Minnesota when she herself was in her hospital bed and stayed with her while Case was still in the hospital to give her strength and support for all she was going through with her own burnt lungs and Case. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the pace and the plot. It was a good read. It was sometimes hard to keep the connections all together correctly from both the past and the present. But I enjoyed the danger, intrigue, tension, and suspense. I liked the way the author does her descriptions in such a way that you can actually picture things in your mind. But I did hate the ending as it was a cliffhanger and as I have said many times in my reviews I hate cliffhangers. But I did feel this was still worth reading. And I recommend.
I would like to start by saying this is the first book of the series that I have read & I would recommend reading them in order since it took me a while to follow some of the storylines. The writer has an excellent way of creating her storyline & conveying it to the readers. Her prose is descriptive & enables the reader to picture the scenes in their minds. The characters are well developed & three dimensional. If you like romances set in the west with strong men & women & a heavy use of past lives & that influence on the characters in the present, this is a book/series you really need to try.
The seventh book in the Shore Leave Cafe series, this is a story about a woman who is determined to get her life back. Tish Gordon finds her true love in the hospital after a fire, and she is determined to find out who is responsible for the devastation. Doing so, however, will unearth the secrets of her past. Ruthann leaves her fiance at home, and travels to come help her sister Tish. However, Ruthann finds romance where she’s least expecting it.
Thanks to Netgalley for a review copy of this book.
A bit confusing if you jump in at this one, but I picked up who everyone was quickly enough. I feel like there's a much bigger overarching plot over the series but I don't know if I care enough to read the 8 previous and however many after. I hate cliffhangers!
