Life After Love #5

Rediscovering Love

Rate this book
Claire and Sam’s affair is rapidly evolving into much more and they nervously prepare to tell their respective partners that it’s all over with them. As Paul continues to fall in on himself, his heart completely destroyed by the loss of Claire, his drinking quickly spirals out of control. Jenna, meanwhile, knows something is up in her relationship, but has no idea of the extent of Sam’s betrayal. Will the lovers be able to simply walk away from Jenna and Paul so easily? Or will one—or both—of the jilted partners exact some kind of revenge?

And if this wasn’t enough for Claire to contend with, she also has the issue of the secret child she had with Sam all those years ago hanging around her neck like a noose awaiting for the stool beneath her feet to be suddenly kicked away and the rope to go taut. With Sam completely oblivious, will she have the courage to reveal it all to him? Or will fate take everything out of her hands?

Having survived the brutality of Charlie, Jules watches on as Juliette slowly fades before his eyes, gradually sinking into the fog-ridden nightmare of her dementia. Is he about to watch the love of his life—his only true soulmate—slowly dissolve in front of his very eyes? And what will he do when social services begin claiming that Juliette is unfit to be around David, threatening to take her away and put her into an institute?

With each character immersed within the depths of crisis, can any of them discover a chink of light to illuminate the way out? Or will they find that nothing is ever the same in life after love?

Intriguing but annoying

This series does not stand alone and could easily have been placed in a few books. The 1st book is rather slow starting, but I've stayed the course. At around 150 pages a piece the "books" always cut away in a dramatic scene and are more like weekly soap opera installments.
