Reckless Heat

Rate this book
75.000 words stand-alone romance novel with a guaranteed Happy Ever After
Some people call me reckless and say my stunts are too dangerous. Others call them completely insane. But they all stare with their mouths wide open, because when somebody’s jumping 300 feet in the air, while going 100 miles an hour on a bike, you just can’t look away.

My name is Drew Mickelson and I’m a professional stunt rider. Whenever I’m not performing at local fairs and shows, I’m practicing my next death defying routine. It’s all I do, and I got no time in my life for anything else, especially a woman.

When twenty-two year-old, Jinx Lockley, agrees to spend her summer in her best friend's hometown, she intends to explore the possibility that she and Rhett Waters could be something more than friends. However, a surprise announcement turns the situation upside down, and after nearly getting hit by a motorcycle at the local fair, she’s ready to go home...except there's something fascinating and mysterious about that sexy motorcycle rider, Drew Mickelson. He’s not all that easy to forget.

Don’t miss, Reckless Heat, the latest sexy stand-alone romance from MS Parker.

My apologies in advance, as I may get a bit ranty.

Now, when the words 'Bad Boy' are in the title of a book, I go into it with certain expectations.

Sadly, this book did not deliver the goods promised. It's left me wondering just what, exactly, does the author consider about Drew that classifies hm as a Bad Boy. Is it because he rides a motorcycle? Is it because he uses words like, 'fuck', 'pussy', and 'cock'? Wait, I use those words, does that mean I'm a Bad Boy, gender notwithstanding?

Maybe I'm missing something.

I was really, really not a fan of Jinx trying to force Drew into giving up, or belittling his dreams. Who does that?

So then, the unthinkable happens, Drew is forced to give up his dreams, then he book goes sideways. Literally, sideways. Suddenly, Jinx is a submissive and starts encouraging Drew to be a Dom.

Um, what?

Suddenly, there's this other side of Jinx that was never hinted at or alluded to, that the man who took her virginity is also the man who introduced her to D/s. Oh, and she and Drew are staying in that man's house.

I don't get it. I don't know if this book was trying to cash in on FSOG, or if BDSM is he author's regular genre and she just couldn't help herself and had to add that element in, or if she just simply could not come up with a better idea for healing Drew.

It just fell kinda flat, and felt really contrived to me.

Great Read!

I enjoyed reading about Jinx and Drew in Reckless Heat. Jinx was a typical college student who has graduated from college and had dreams to pursue her journalism career but had no clue that she would meet the man of her dreams. Drew was the rugged, sexy, small town guy who loves to live life on the edge. But what Drew didn't know is that the Big City girl he met who showed him a new way to live his life.

Bonus Book: Married A Stripper

Enjoyed getting to know Piety and Kaleb in Married A Stripper. Can't wait to read the rest of this book.

I loved the characters. I loved the story line until she threw something in the story that felt like it didn't belong. I was set to give it 4 stars but ended up with 3 stars.

I really enjoyed Drew & Jinx's story. Jinx never thought she would meet someone while staying with her best friend Rhett over the summer, but meeting Drew would change both there lives. Drew wants nothing more then to become a famous stunt rider but when an accident happens, he might not be able to ride again and could lose something much more important. I love reading about Jinx & Drew and enjoyed the other characters as well. Hoping maybe Dallas will get his own book

Jinx has her future waiting for her. Yet, a job in her field is hard to grab hold of. Taking the summer to rediscover herself, she meets a risk taking stunt rider, Drew. Do opposites really attract? Will this quiet bad boy find romance and love in Jinx? Can he overcome his own demons? Will his dreams destroy their relationship? Can Jinx detour her career for him? Will he care? Does he even know the sacrifices she's willing to make. Reckless Heat is a hot standalone that will not disappoint you. A fantastic read!

This book has left me speechless, it was just so amazing that I could not find the right words that would do justice for the awesomeness that the author has given us.

Let me start with the main characters name, Jinx, how original is that, the only thing I wish was that we were told how and what the nickname means.

Then we have Drew, oh my, I could visualize him every time, he seemed like such a big time man for coming from such a small town.

When Drew and Jinx meet, for the first time, the sparks are just amazing, and I loved that they got to know one another before they take the next step in their relationship (its not often we can read a book any more that the main couple doesn't jump into bed as soon as they meet).

The story and characters in this book will stay with me a long time, and deserves more than five stars.

Wow what a great story. I loved reading about Drew and Jinx, once I started I couldn't stop reading. Jinx is invited to go home with her friend for the summer and the last thing she was looking for was Drew. He's wants to be a professional stunt driver and the adventure they go through together was awesome. I didn't want it to end, a must read.

A thrilling and entrancing story with highs and lows that will melt even the coldest of hearts.

A small town trip with a friend brings Jinx to meet the man she will give up her biggest dreams to be with even if he doesn't realise it, after a major low blow and almost losing Drew she steps up the heat to bring him back to life and back to her.

Drew meets the girl he fears losing more than anything and yet when the going gets tough he loses her through jealously and lack of communication, starting a new life things finally seem to be going right and then the accident rips his dreams away, in a coma Jinx is the only thing pulling him back and when he wakes and she is actually there he feels relieved, withdrawing into himself unsure how to live with shattered dreams he gives up until Jinx pushes him and when she suggests a new way to get back the control he lost over his life he is dubious but the more they play the more confident he becomes.

A story that shows just how important family, communication and even compromises can be in relationships and friendships too.

An they keep on coming. Another brilliant read by M. S. Parker.
Reading about Jinx and Drew was addictive.
When Jinx goes to stay with her friend Rhett she doesn't expect to meet anyone. I think when that happens the sparks always fly.
Would love to read more.
I would definitely recommend this story

I loved this book. Drew and Jinx were awesome characters and real. Book was well written, great plot. So emotional while reading this book. Takes you from sadness to happiness to anger to lust to love and what a ride it is. Let's not forget the hot, hard, and sexy bedroom scene.

Good story line. Nice to see BDSM therapy rather than the Experienced Dom. Everyone is a beginner at something so it was a realistic view of insecurities and growth of how BDSM helps Individuals and couples. Especially in a storyline with non abusive hurdles to overcome. It shows how a dream ending moment can be retooled and overcome.

This is a full-length book about Drew a daredevil motorcycle sportsman and Jinx a journalist who just happens to be watching him perform at a small town fair. The attraction is instant, and the unlikely pair became a couple. Extra characters are well done with Dallas being Drew's twin brother and Rhett, Jinx's best friend and confidant. This story was written well, a little slow at times, with lots of steam and BDSM towards the end. Extra first parts of Married a Stripper and Twisted Affair at the end of this story to entice the reader to try another book by this author.
"Her hands were hot, and her touch was firm, the perfect combination of pressure and friction."
"Forget my bike. Jinx was the true danger. And like every other dangerous thing in my life, I was drawn to her, consequences be damned."
"I deepened the kiss, wanting to sear the memory of our connection into my mind forever."
"Passion doesn't just go away..."

This standalone romance is fantastic and hot. M.S. Parker is amazing at writing a romance with light BDSM and emotions. I haven't read a book by M.S. Parker that I didn't love.
Jinx and Drew have amazing chemistry. They have a rocky love story and you'll love the ride.
Told in both Jinx and Drew's POV.

Recklessly hot!!

You go thru life having dreams of what you want your life to become. Drew and Jinx both had visions of what they wanted to achieve in life. But as most of us know life can certainly throw us curve balls as they both will come to see. Most importantly though will the curve balls come just in their professional lives or between their personal ones as well. Once again, M.S. Parker outshines herself in Reckless Heat.

I really enjoyed Drew & Jinx's story. It's very refreshing to read about a somewhat normal, everyday couple. Drew is a motorcycle stunt performer with dreams of being a full fledged stunt man in Hollywood, and Jinx is a writer with hopes of getting her dream job on the East Coast, far from where Drew hopes to end up. Both characters are set in what they want, but know they want each other. I very much enjoyed this story. Full of drama and passion.
