A prince of demons and a prince of vampires are drawn together, but if they're going to live eternally together, they must overcome the challenges and enemies before them.

As a prince of demons, Sytri's existence has been for one thing, power. He's gained that in the demon realm, but his pursuit of it cost him something far greater...something he didn't realize the value of until it was gone. When he first met vampire prince, Basil Warrick, in an instant he saw--and desired--to have once again all that he'd lost; friendship, companionship...love.

Basil has lived for more than three hundred years, and quietly carries the scars left by the vampire who turned him. Connecting with others has never been easy for him, but Sy's sensual charm is more than he can resist. He knows Sy's history of betrayal, and the demon is exactly what he shouldn't want in his life, and yet, Sy is /all/he wants.

The return of an old enemy of Basil's brings painful memories and danger to him, and a new enemy of Sy's threatens to take away what he's gaining in his life. If their lives are to be eternally bound, the two princes must overcome the threats and challenges before them.

I LOVED This!

SJ Frost is just an auto-buy author for me, it doesn't matter what she writes, everything is just brilliant. I love her vampires, her rockstars, her fantasy world, and now her demons.

I think what I love is that she writes the current couple of the story as well as the previous couples all interacting so well together, like it's a little family and you really care about all of the characters. They are friends, or related, and I just love reading about them interacting with each other, joking around, and so on.

I still think that Sal and Witchie Poo might be my favorite couple in this series so far, but Sy and Basil had some great chemistry right from the start, and I love how much they came to care for the other. I definitely recommend starting with the first book of this series, and get ready to fall in love with these characters!

These books are so mushy and sweet, sometimes pathetically so, but laced with humor (which was a pleasant surprise) make for highly entertaining reads. Though they feature vampires and demons, don't expect anything dark here. But you can expect eternal kind of love, which is, luckily for me, my favourite kind. I do love me some true HEAs. Recommend the whole series!

I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the previous two books. PROBABLY because all of the other couples were taking quite some pages-time as well, and they were all being mushy and lovey-dovey. I would love this book to be solely about Sy and Basil -- and their respective enemies -- without them having to share spotlight with the rest. I didn't feel like I had enough time with them, and it made me lose any emotional connection.

The action sequence near the end was good though, loved that Sy gave Basil the chance to confront the past

I hope there's at least another book in this series. Nathan deserved his own happy ending :)

This is such a great series! I loved books one and two (probably equally – though 2 might have edged 1 out a tiny bit…) and this one was really good, but definitely my third favorite in the series.

First, I love that we get to see the other couples – Sal is my fav and he’s in this story a lot! He’s hysterical as always. Calvin is coming along well with his powers that are really developing. I’m not sure why Sebastian is still human but… he and Valentin are cute together.

Second, Basil is another really great character. He’s got some interesting things happening in his life these days – including a past that is pretty dark and disturbing. When he meets his “maker” - literally – I really wanted to punch that guy in the face!

Unfortunately, Sy is harder to emote over. He’s not a bad guy and we get his side of the story in his squabble with Sal – but he’s just a little – blah – as compared to Basil, Valentin, Calvin and Sal. I didn’t find anything really “remarkable” about him to glom onto.

Sy and Basil are a nice enough couple, but in this story I kinda felt like we were either Fucking, Fighting or talking about our Feelings (and those usually weren’t between Sy and Basil).

In any case – this was fun, and it was fab seeing all the old crew again, the powers and magic and action are great and though it wasn’t my favorite it is still an excellent book in a fantastic series!

Demon Prince is the third book in S.J. Frost’s Paranormal Nobles series. I have been really enjoying this series and was excited to get Basil’s story. These books are all stand alone stories featuring new MCs, but the side characters appear in each other’s books, so some familiarity with the series is definitely helpful. In this book, in particular, all three couples play a role, as well as incorporating some backstory from previous books.

The thing I have liked most of all here is the interplay among the series characters. There is a feistiness to them all, a clever banter and wit that makes their interactions so much fun. I don’t think Sy and Basil are quite as high octane together as the more fiery other couples, but I loved seeing the gang all interact and I liked our guys as a pair. There was a nice sense of here of the bond among all these men, the family they have built together, and the importance of their friendship. This is especially key with regards to Sy who has been craving a connection and finds it here both with Basil, as well as with the rest of the group.

In addition to the relationship end, both Basil and Sy face threats from men who want them and seek to control them. Basil’s story is a little more developed as this is an old foe and we learn a lot about what happened between them in the past. Frost brings these two plots together in an interesting way, and I enjoyed the final battle scenes where it all comes to resolution. We do get some time in the main bad guy’s head, which I don’t totally love when the rest of the book is told from the dual POV of our MCs. But we know who he is and what is he is up to fairly early on, and I think a little more could have been made of the tension here leading up to the ending fight.

Read Jay’s review in its entirety here.

Absinthe is more than just a liquid. You have to prepare it as well (by burning a sugar cube over it I think) so having an absinthe fountain makes no sense.

Hot hot hot!

Having really short names, using half that name as a nickname in the human realm, and then using the full name in the demon realm where they stab each other oin the back all the time makes no sense for beings whose names have so much power.

I would think that advertising that a wanted vampire criminal is around and about would be bad for business.

I love the banter between Sy and Sal. I was worried about the author's ability to make me trust Sy after his history but great job.

Oh! I want to go to Savannah and go on a paranormal tour!

I really like the mythology, the idea that the power in belief and ability is the same whether done as a Christian/priest or as a witch.

If it's so rare to meet higher ranking vampires--meaning any older than 200 years--then they're hardly immortal. They apparently aren't that hard to kill.

Sweet, although I was beginning to side with Sal that the lovey-dovey preciousness was going to have me heaving soon. :)

3.5 stars!

The only reason it isn't 4 stars is because it didn't manage to hold down my attention long enough to read it continuously (I took a 2 weeks break before completing it). I liked it well enough with the whole cast in it as it was nice to see all their interactions and I do like all the other characters. Especially Nathan, I am looking forward to his book if there is one.

Plot wise, as usual, both Basil and Sy's enemies come out and together they must overcome them. It was nice to see more of Basil's past and why he had his insecurities. Another unique point of this book was

Overall, it was a good read though my favourite book of the series so far is still the second book.

“He would defeat his past, and he would claim his future with his demon prince.”

At first I wasn't keen on this book. I wasn't sure about Sy and his intentions and I was still holding a grudge against him. But I love Basil and I needed a PNR read so decided to finally give it a go...

“...But I wonder, what’s your motivation for helping here, in this realm, and aligning with us? What’s at stake for you now?”
Sy lifted his hand, caressing along Basil’s cheek, and cupped the back of his neck. “You.”

Firstly, I wouldn't suggest reading this without *at least* reading book two. I think the books are awesome and you should read the first two anyway.
So we have Sy. Who is arrogant, the kind of arrogance that seems to come with these Noble paranormal beings. But Sy seems to have an extra sprinkle of arrogance than the others. He's also got a history with Sal, from book two and they need to navigate their way back to some sort of friendship as Sy and Basil begin something. (I do really like how this whole situation was dealt with and regardless that it was a non issue, they still talked about it.) And Sy is also great at disguising how he really feels and mastered this when it comes to his true feelings for something real; like friendship and love.
Basil is also arrogant but much tamer than Sy, Basil has been somewhat of a mystery for me. He wasn't exactly the quiet one, I'd give that title to Valentin, Basil certainly spoke out and gave his opinion and his presence was certainly known but there was just something... And that something definitely came to light in this book in the form of his past and how that has impacted him.

“There were none who could catch him, none who could defeat him. And only one who’d ever slipped away from him.”

For me personally this book was that little bit more suspenseful. Had me on edge a little more than the others, the villains a little more cruel and unpredictable.
But it also had those friendships I've come to love, that are ridiculous and funny in the best way possible, and you get to see more depth to them as well as the relationships from the previous books grow in strength while seeing the one of Sy and Basil forming beautifully here. Speaking of, I really liked their relationship, how it was a little slow burn but then sizzling and those two were like magnets drawn to each other even though it was a learning experience for them and there were walls and barriers to get through but it was all worth it for the love on the other side.

“His existence had been longer than his memories could reach, moving from century to century, but in this time with Basil, Sy knew that everything before had been nothing more than surviving. It hadn’t been living. It hadn’t been happiness. Now with his vampire prince in his arms, he had both and more.”

There are intriguing characters here and while some things are too convenient, and at times silly, I don't care. I'm really loving this series and hope there's much more to come from this series.

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES

4.5 Stars

Loved!

This third book of the Paranormal Nobles series by SJ Frost was such good fun. Not only did we get Sytri and Basil’s story but we got to spend a lot of on page time with the other couples from the series and their interactions with each other bordered on hilarious some of the time. As well as a love story this one focuses on friendship and fixes one in particular that went wrong in the past.

Sytri is your typical demon in that he lurks in dark places, isn’t all that well liked by his peers and has airs and graces that often don’t make him all that appealing. He has lived a long time, he holds a tenuous grip of his ranking in the demon world and when he first met Basil he realised suddenly just how lonely his life had become and how few people he had it in that mattered.

Basil was delightful from the beginning and outwardly you can’t see the scars that this 300 year old vampire carries – but they are there and they haunt him. Having been warned by his friends about Sytri’s less than stellar behaviour with his previous lover he still can’t help but be drawn to the charismatic demon who seems to be offering everything that Basil has been missing and desires. However, nothing is ever simple and just as Basil and Sytri get to know each other a bit better Basil’s past comes back to haunt him and he finds himself in a desperate bid for survival.

Demon Prince moves the overall series storyline forward whilst giving us another well fought for HEA. SJ Frost has long been a favourite author of mine and this series is definitely one I would recommend. Sal and Witchie Poo remain my favourite couple of the series for now…..

Nice wrap up of our original 3 paranormal friends. Loose ends are tied up, and their pasts are put to rest. If you liked the first 2, then this holds true to those. Lots of Snark, easy reading, and an ending all wrapped up in a HEA Bow. There are some editing / proofing issues none that really disrupted the general flow or threw me out of the story. I appreciated that the ending had the groundwork layed and didn't have Sy or Basil unrealistically trying to do it all on their own. It was a nice entertaining read to whittle away some time.

Disappointing installment. Sy was unlikable. Yes, he protected and fought for Basil. Otherwise, he was borderline deceptive, manipulative, and self serving. He never redeemed himself for his betrayal of Sal. Basil turned into milque toast around Sy. Their relationship was shallow and boring. The family was great and, of course, Sal was entertaining.

Am excellent story

This is the 3rd book in the Paranormal Nobles series. If you haven't read books 1 and 2 stop and go read them first! The characters are too entwined for this book to be a true stand alone
I regret not rereading the first two as it has been some time since I read them. The story is strong, and a bit more history is given on Basil the story focuses on Sy a minor character, to an extent, from book 2.. The relationship between Basil and Sy develops at a nice pace, the action is well placed and the paranormal tour of Savannha is easily the funniest ghost tour that I've read.
