Creavit wizard Irenaeus Chesterfield is back, with a bigger, badder plan to go after Jinx and company. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Jinx starts having dream visions about the mysterious Amulet of Caorunn. Trying to get more details, she and Tori try a dicey double enchantment with shocking results.
Take this adventure with Jinx, Tori, and the gang as they work to recover the Amulet, stop Chesterfield, and enter the mysterious Middle Realm.
Juliette Harper is the pen name used by the writing team of Patricia Pauletti and Rana K. Williamson. As a writer, Juliette's goal is to create strong female characters facing interesting, challenging, painful, and at times comical situations. Refusing to be bound by genre, her primary interest lies in telling good stories.
Book 7 of the Jinx Hamilton series and I am still totally immersed in the world that is Briar Hollow and beyond. All I can tell you is to run, don't walk, to get your own copies of this series. On to book 8.....
I did my reviews out of order and mistakingly left a review on Witch on Third that I mixed up with Witch To Haunt. If your reading this Series in the right order, you'll see that MY REVIEW does not make sense. Please read these books in order. I'm afraid if you read MY REVIEW then Spoiler Alert: I've already ruined what really is a good read in Witch to Haunt. Another piece of advice: please read the Christmas Novella (it tells the part about Christmas that is just touched on briefly in this story) before you read this book. I thought that was the end of the Series (and I was disgusted that I had been left on the "ledge" with out an ending. That was before I read this book which had escaped my reading order by pure mistake. This should be your next book after the Christmas Novellaz). I
So! This review: Many things were cleared up and explained and new things are now open to further development. Am I happy with the ending of this book? (Brenna Sinclair is back in the mix but in an entirely different role. Wait and see..you'll like the new story!) Yes. I am not happy that I am still waiting for Jinx, Tori, Chase, etc. (The Witch of the Oak Gang) to find and destroy the Wizard. I'm also still waiting on the love story portion to play out..Chase or Lucas? Who knows...shrug! When will the next edition to this story come out? Who knows but I'm still (in for a penny in for a pound) hanging in there waiting for things to be wrapped up! ENJOY!!
Once again Jinx and Tori and their merry band of paranormal friends find themselves battling the evil wizard, Chesterfield. This time Chesterfield has involved the Queen of Winter, Cailleach, by giving her the Amulet of Caorunn. Cailleach has agreed to bring winter to North Carolina in a way that hasn’t been seen there.
To save the Mother Oak tree and the people of North Carolina, Jinx must take the Jar of Prometheus to the Middle Realm to Gwydion and rescue Brighid, the Queen of Spring from the Dark Druid.
This is book seven of the series. I believe that it is necessary to read them in order to learn the characters as introduced and the world building that goes on and builds in each successive book.
As Chesterfield hands the Amulet of Caorunn to the Queen of Winter for her to use to prevent the waning of the winter. Briar Hollow becomes the epicenter of a winter freeze so vicious it affects the Mother Oak in Shevington.
To save the Oak Jinx and Tori, Lucas, Greer and Chase will have to face the perils of the Middle Realm. Golem, a horrifying accident, Brenna and the Dark Druid will each bring their own desires and demands to the show.
Chesterfield thinks he's won, the Queen of Winter believes she can continue to bring her icy charms to bear on earth but the stolen Amulet might just have a mind of its own.
I couldn't bring myself to give this five stars. There is just something a little off compared to the other books. Sometimes the explanations and descriptions were too much. Also I kept getting confused because I already read the Christmas in Shevington book so I knew things but the timeline was winky for me. I also thought the plot resolution was kinda weak (without any spoilers). Overall not a bad book just not my favorite.
This volume completes our introduction to Jinx and Tori. It marks their transformation from waitresses in a country coffee shop to powerful witches and women in their own right. Other characters around them including their own parents have grown and changed as well. The storyline hasn't ended, there's far more to come, but it can pause to give breathing space to the author. I for one am eager to see how she will take it up from here.
This is the finest series of witchcraft stories and I have read TONS of them. The characters are so real you start talking to them at certain parts of the series. The plot will not let you put down your Kindle tablet until you have read them all I completed the set in 4 days of continuous reading. This is JUST READ for all witch lovers. I can't wait for next,so I'm starting another one of her series "The Lockwood Legacy.
Jinx, Tori , and the gang are on another adventure! This time to another area if the far world. When they get back to the lair with Mistress Summer and call Mistress Winter to appear, the end result of the confrontation, will surprise you! Can hardly wait for the next book in the series!
This installment touched my heart the most! Anyone that adores fantasy would enjoy the heroic efforts of a newly trained witch! A beautiful tale of redemption, forgiveness, and risking all that makes your world go round, to save humanity, is enough to make the weakest heart brave!
Getting to see a bit of my Patron Goddess Brighid through the eyes of the author was heartwarming.
A journey to find a stolen amulet and the freedom of a season....
Jinx and gang have just enjoyed the holidays now the need to find the Amulet of Caorunn that is the amulet for Mother of Rowan. They will need to go to the Middle Realm to get the answers and perform a rescue.
More adventures of our heroine learning more about her powers and destiny.
I am reading this series in order and now I'm up to to 7th and only have the last written one left till the author writes the next one and I'll be waiting. This is a great series throughly entertaining. ENJOY
This is another winner. I so enjoy this author s books. She writes wonderful storylines and great characters in every book. I highly recommend all her books to everyone who loves paranormal stories. Diana Romano
Like the first six books, the author likes using references to modern movies and tv shows and sayings. It makes the stories even more fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.
The characters are very well defined and the plot keeps you guessing. No noticeable editing errors and that is always a plus for me. It will be engaging to see where this goes!
I am really enjoying this cute little series. It’s kind of like a recipe for a potion but instead of herbs and oils it’s one part Harry Potter, one part Lord of the Rings, one part History class all mixed together to make a whole lotta Awesome.
Bad guys turn good? Big bad guy deep freezing Jinx's state! The team has lots to work on in this book and they have lots of fun and adventure along the way!
I love this urban fantasy series based in the NC mountains, and beyond. They are fun, fast-paced adventures, with mystery, family, friends, love, and good vs. evil. Oh, and don't forget the witty banter, epic one liners and pop culture references.
I've grown to like all the characters in these books but I'm already sad because I know it will end soon. Hey! Producers out there, grab these books before someone else does and make a blockbuster movie!
by now we know Jinx and family pretty well. She is still getting herself into situations she does not want to be in but is handling it well. This series continues to be easy reading. fun characters. It is not hard to determine the end results of each situation but enjoyable to read I will continue with the series
Another wonderful magical mystery with tons of adventure, action, humor, strife and love. I enjoyed escaping into the magical world and being able to leave reality a little on the side.
The Jinx Hamilton series gets better with each book! I love how the main characters continue to grow, and how new characters emerge! Highly recommend for teens and up.
I am loving this series. Well written with well developed characters. I love the humor and the snark in the stories. Funny with a lot of sarcasm. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
