Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
A modelling agencies photographer is murdered! The police team up with local girl psychic, but not a psychic.....it's hard to explain. A haunted house, anonymous letters and a murder to solve! Great story!
Great read. Okay all the answers are not given but the main mystery is solved in this book. Why was the body of a man discovered in the river. Was it a suicide or was the answer darker? Our heroine is a young reporter who has been able to see ghosts from the time that she was involved in a car accident that claimed the lives of her parents. However the only ghosts she sees are the ones that have been murdered. Watch as she investigates this with her zany friend and the new police recruit. However that isn't the only mystery. Who is the strange girl and what about the man who has been watching her from the shadows. A nice mix of characters, an array of male interest in her, one OCD flatmate and a mystery to get your teeth into. If you like series that flow into each other with an ongoing mystery then this is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
What is it with these books and the nonstop love triangles! It's ridiculous. Move away from the love triangles, author. It's old! Tiring! Find something else to use in your plots.
Did not finish because once it became clear that there is YET ANOTHER LOVE TRIANGLE!!! I lost all interest in the book
Plus at the 40% mark, it's boring. All the MC can do is see and talk to ghosts. That's it. She can't do anything to control them or move them along. Just stand there and scream at them. Riveting... (/sarcasm).
I feel bad leaving a 1-star rating. However, according to the Good Reads rating system that means I don't like the book. Since I didn't like it enough to finish it? Anyways, others love it so give it a try. This is just my opinion.
This is an absolutely interesting and engaging romance and murder mystery. Hope Olivia's character gets a romance out of Noah. Chapters are not long and discovered I like that as I wanted to find out who the guilty party was. Emma Watts kept me guessing to the very end. There is a mysterious person on a motorcycle whose identity has not been revealed. Hope I find out who it is in book 2. Recommend this book to any one who enjoys mysteries.
Emma Watts is great at writing a little bit of the supernatural mixed in with mystery. I actually like this book better than her other series now. I still like the Witches of Crystal Cove, but this book was easier to relate to normal life. It is definitely worth reading if you just want to curl up for an afternoon read and relax, especially since it's spring and rainy days are here again.
