"Unless it is mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it's a waste of time. There are too many mediocre things in life- love should not be one of them"
Jennifer Hayward, a Canadian romantic author, crafted a light-hearted yet a passionate romantic story in her new book, The Italian's Deal for I Do and this book happens to be the first book in the Society Weddings series.
To be fair: I'm not that judgmental when it comes to reading Mills & Boons or Harlequin books. I believe we all need to read a little bit of fairytale romance sometime to lose oneself in the beauty of it.
Synopsis:
The Irresistible Italian: Married for Business
He's conquered global markets and immeasurable hearts, but to regain control of the fashion empire that's rightfully his, Rocco Mondelli must prove his playboy days are over. His secret weapon? Supermodel-in-hiding Olivia Fitzgerald…and the power to ruin her if she refuses to play his loving fiancée!
But returning to the world stage revives Olivia's old demons, and instead of walking down the aisle toward her gorgeous groom—she flees! The world holds its breath: Can the indomitable Rocco get his wayward bride to the altar on time?
The world's sexiest billionaires finally say "I do"!
Honestly, this book is not one bit of cheesy or corny or whatever you call it, instead, it's so dark and deeply passionate, that it keeps you moving forward with the flow of the story.
Rocco is an Italian billionaire, and Olivia is one of most popular model in the world. Their worlds collide like a volcano collides with a tornado, instead volcano is much more powerful. Rocco, brooding and insanely handsome Italian is dominating and controlling in nature, whereas Olivia, the most sexiest woman Rocco ever laid eyes on, is scared, torn up between the glitzy life and plain life with a different dream. Read the book, to find out how their imperfect and different universe become one at last!
The characters are absolutely surreal, not a slight bit of realism present in them and that's what makes the book so compelling to read. But the characters are layered with endless flaws and past trauma haunting them like forever. Rocco and Olivia's chemistry is inevitable and undeniable to notice from the very beginning. I could feel the heat of their passion from the pages of the book.
The storytelling is articulate without being too dramatic. The issues mentioned in the book are realistic and believable. And yes, the emotions are described so intricately that you can almost feel it at the very core of your heart. I felt the story to be a little bit too rushed, I mean, the climax unfolded pretty quickly. The narrative is detailed and at times bit dark, maybe it was Rocco whose moodiness act as a charm in the story. Overall, it's fast-paced, and ending is just like any fairytale without much drama.
Verdict: Take a break from your long and complex novels by reading this intriguing and enthralling story that will keep you falling in love with it's primary character despite his millions of flaws in his attitude.

The vibrant and glamorous world of fashion and supermodels is the background to this author’s latest book.
Rocco heads one of Italy’s top fashion houses. He’s, of course, gorgeous, sexy, alpha male and has a lot of baggage to deal with due to his tormented and sad childhood.
Olivia has left the life of a supermodel behind her and hiding away in Milan away from the limelight and trying to get her life together after experienced some traumatic things in the past.
This is a passionate love story filled with tension, sexual chemistry and likeable characters. The secondary characters were very interesting and I hope we get some more about them in the future.
Enjoyed the plot and character development a lot.
If you love romance, this is one book for you….for me….I just love happy endings!!!
My reading attention span has been crap since we rang in 2022 and pulling this Presents out of my TBR reminded me of 1) how much a well-done Presents will suck me in like whoa! and 2) how much fun reading can be. The hero is a Grade A Alphahole in the beginning, with the heroine backed into a corner and under his thumb. But oh the joy this story is when she realizes that he doth protest too much and he's not as unaffected by her as he claims. The back-and-forth gives way to two people, with damaged pasts, opening up to each other and learning to trust. I inhaled this in a matter of hours and barely came up for air.
Everyone hits a time in life when we would rather run from our demons than face them head on , but what would happen if you were called out of hiding and forced to face the demons?
Would you survive it, or simply take the easy way out yet again by running as far and fast you can? In this read we meet Olivia, once she was a high class supermodel with the world at her feet, then suddenly she disappeared off the face of the earth, leaving her adoring fans and the press in complete wonder as to why.
Rocco has just lost his beloved grandfather, but he's ready to take over the company he helped bring to the heights of the fashion industry, only when he is told he will not have sole control until he presents a well mannered settled down image, he has to form a plan and fast or the board will bring him crashing down and everything he has worked for will be lost.
As Rocco starts looking for a way to salvage his hard work, he discovers one of his grandfather's many secrets, the world famous Olivia has been hiding out in his grandfather's apartment! She's the secret weapon he needs and he knows just how to make her play the game. But Olivia left behind her wild supermodel life for good reason, and going back will destroy her, how to make Rocco understand and hold onto her dreams is a mission she has no idea how to complete and when the time for 'the walk' comes she takes off running, again.
I have come across many books that involved amazing characters that afterwards lived in my mind for days afterwards, but I can with all honesty say that never have any of the characters showed up in my dreams! Yet, Rocco was so powerful and a in your face force , that I guess my mind simply could not help bringing him to life in my dreams, I know it sounds weird, I mean this is a character in a book, not a real life person. But I will say that I think it is testament to this author's magic talent, being able to climb inside the dreams of your readers is not something just any author is able to do, excellent job Jennifer!
The character of Rocco was more than just the typical arrogant bastard type found in these types of reads, I felt more up close and personal with this character than any other I have ever read before, his pain, hurt and anger was screaming at me from the first page. Yes, lots of other hero's pain in other reads have driven me to bawl my eyes out, but with Rocco is was more raw, I very desperately wanted to see this man happy.
The character of Olivia was not the typical " Ohhh look at me, I am so pretty", supermodel type that I have found in some other similar reads about supermodels going off the deep end. The author really dug deep and pulled the helpless, lost and out of control Olivia from her self created little protective bubble. I felt the heartache and sorrow, and the intense feeling of wanting to stay in control simply because you've seen things no person needs to see, and I was over the moon with joy with the manner the author used to pull this helpless heroine from the ashes and let her stand out from the crowd once more.
I am taking away a message of some of us will fall in love and along the way lose that love, but it's just part of life's way to shape you and show that there is something or someone else we need to face before out final happiness is found. But running away from our problems and using our past to hide from our real feelings, is never the answer.
I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance reads, it sizzled with red hot attraction, brought me to tears of heartbreaking sorrow and joy, and best of all showed me that anything can be overcome, all we need to do is find the will to push forward and slay the dragons.
5/5 star review " Together they can slay the dragons from the past, but will it be enough?"
I've had this book on my reader for a while now, and I wanted to kick myself for not reading this one sooner. Everything just instantly hooked me from the first scene: the flow, the writing style, the feel of the story, and the characters. It pretty much sucked me in right from the start and didn't let me go until the end. I call this one of my "perfect angst" books. It was a very angsty and emotionally charged read, which could have been a disaster if it wasn't because Ms. Hayward did a great job with the characterization and pacing of the story. The author knows how to deliver a quality novella. Her writing style engages the readers and leaves them desperate for more. Harlequin hit the jackpot with this one. Going back, I won't go into the whole summary since the blurb was pretty spot on. Let me tell you instead why I love this book.
First, because of Rocco Mondelli. I do love Italian heroes, well, next to my favorite Greek heroes. He's broody, confident, determined, possessive, protective, ass and cold at times, but the author does such an incredible job with his character that you cannot help but fall absolutely in love with him. There was so much more to him than what appeared. He made some serious errors in judgment that had me shaking my head, but I understood him. The poor guy just got his world turned upside down the moment Olivia entered it.
Second, I adored Olivia Fitzgerald. She was such a multi-faceted character. She's an amazing heroine, and I admired her strength and determination. She's been through so much but still never gave up, and I admired her, even more, when she dared to come out and face some ghosts from her past for her to finally move on and have a life with the man she loves.
Third, I loved and adored both Rocco and Olivia. They don't have a great start, but as the book progresses, you can see that they were perfect for one another and just what the other needed. Rocco opened up to her and was able to tell her things he'd never told anyone. The same with Olivia. I loved how she was able to face her demons because of Rocco's support. Their relationship is intense, passionate, and vulnerable, and I can't help but root for them as readers.
Fourth, I loved the secondary characters, especially the members of Four Colombia, Rocco's best friends - Christian, Zayed, and Stefan. They fit well into the story. And I loved that I got a little taste of their personalities, and I can't wait to get to know them more.
Lastly, I loved The Italian's Deal for I do because of the way it drew me in and left me with an incredibly satisfying feeling once I'd made it through the whole roller coaster of a story to the end. I recommend this, and I'm looking forward to more books in this series.
Rocco Mondelli is married to his work and to take it to more prestige he is all set to blackmail Olivia Fitzgerald to go back to modeling and parade as his fiancée. But the board informs him that that is not enough. He must be a married man to prove this new found stability in his life.
Thus, he forces Olivia to accept the fact that this charade will have to be taken further. But it is not a charade for her. Not anymore. Neither is it for him.
She accepts her feelings for what they are and confesses them but the question remains if Rocco is strong enough to face that fact?
It being a happily ever after, the answer, of course is a yes.
Believe it or not this was the first book that I have read by Jennifer Hayward despite the fact that I own all of her books that she has written thus far. What was I waiting for? Her writing and descriptions were so good I felt I was actually in the scene right along with Rocco and Olivia. Hayward just had a way of pulling me into the story immediately especially the way this story began with an emotional punch not only for the characters but for me as well. It started off with a tragedy that just was the catalyst for the relationship Rocco and Olivia and just took off from there. It was an interesting way to start.
The reason this was the first book of Jennifer Hayward to read was because this book was a part of a miniseries that out of the four books I read books 2 and 3 already. I know out of order so I decided to go back and start at the very beginning of this miniseries which was this book. It kind of filled in some of the gaps from reading out of order. So this was a really good place to start with the author I figured.
And it was really, really good and a great introduction to the author. It had everything that a good romance should have. It had angst, chemistry, great characters, great storyline, emotional intensity, misunderstandings, and rich personal histories that helped how shape who they were as people and caused lots of drama. Just it fit together really well for this enjoyable read.
There were a few scenes that were funny yet very intense especially the restaurant scene where they dine with Stefan. Just that little was filled with lots of sexual tension and was so good. It was hot too. It showed how much tension they had as well as the chemistry that they shared. Another scene that was hot and full of tension was the dress. Woah that was good too and very delicious. I knew what they had was intense as well as hot. I could feel their want come off the page.
Their kisses and love scenes and just showed off their insane chemistry as well as reflected all the built tension that finally burst into an explosion. It was just great fun to watch. Their love scenes were hot but filled with emotional intensity.
And the reason why those scenes were emotional because of the development of their relationship that happened before they headed to the bedroom. Even though they were lusty for each other especially from the moment they met, they built an emotional connection first and it built over time before they made love, and that made it all the better. It was more satisfying and quite a pay off when the scene finally happened.
The whole book was just really well paced. Nothing happened too fast or too slow. Nothing was dragged out for pages beyond page which was really. By keeping a nice pace, I was invested in the book and devoured it without paying attention to what page I was on because I didn't really care. I just wanted to keep on going and going until I got to the end. I read it really quickly because I was really interested in the story.
I loved both the characters of Rocco and Olivia. They were both extremely likable with their own quips and idiosyncrasies that made them all the more interesting. They weren't perfect but very, very real and very root able. Both dealt with complicated past that caused them emotional hurts that still stung when they first met but by being together they were able to heal as well as be there for one another which was really sweet to see especially when Rocco tried to help her deal with panic attacks and anxiety. He was there for her and wanted to help. They each hated to see the other hurting. It was beautiful to witness and just how their whole relationship was portrayed on the page. I just loved them together. And just loved them.
The whole book was a real great romance. I enjoyed the journey of Rocco and Olivia's love story as well as seeing their emotional growth throughout the story. It was a great ride.
I was glad that I read it and that this was my introduction to Jennifer Hayward. I hope all of her books are like this one. Can't wait to read more from her in the future.

The Italian's Deal for I do by Jennifer Hayward is a 2015 Harlequin Presents publication.
In keeping with the glamorous Harlequin Presents tradition, we meet a sexy Italian billionaire named Rocco who runs a fashion industry empire, and Olivia, former supermodel whose mother was once in love with Rocco's grandfather.
Sadly, Rocco's loses his grandfather and is stunned to discover that the old man added a clause or codicil in his will preventing Rocco from taking the deciding shares of the company. It is suggested to Rocco that if he proved he could settle down and put his playboy days behind him, the board might be willing to turn over the controlling shares.
But, the surprises aren't over as Rocco also learns his grandfather has been paying for a young lady's apartment and he immediately rushes to judgment about he nature of the relationship.
When he meets Olivia, and hears her story, he is highly skeptical, but offers her a way to continue working on her fashion line and market it, but the catch is she must pretend to be his fiance.
The fashion industry is examined and the dark underbelly is exposed as a result. Olivia is to be admired for turning her back on money and fame before she became a casualty. Olivia is talented, determined and strong willed on one hand, but she has a vulnerability that shakes Rocco to the core. I liked her for the most part and was happy to see her gain the freedom to pursue her goals and dreams.
Rocco, is hot tempered, driven, and pushy...very pushy. But, he also has a soft side and can be as vulnerable as Olivia. I liked Rocco best when he wasn't being judgmental and presumptuous. But, unlike many heroes in HP, he's not a complete jerk and he folds easily with Olivia once he puts his fear, and stubborn pride behind him.
Both characters saw growth and learned that while love can have a dark side , it also has great power and it's all they need to make things work between them.
This is one of the best recent HP novels I have read in a while and I loved, loved, loved the suspenseful ending and the HEA!
This novel gets off to a very emotional beginning that sets the tone for the novel as a whole. It also lets you get to know the hero quite well and quite quickly. Hayward’s eloquent prose combines with an intricate plot in a way that pulls you in to this fantastic world. The contrast between the struggles of high end business and explosive chemistry was fully captivating.
I found myself laughing out loud at the absolute outrageousness of the characters at times. It was priceless. Their parallel desires yet conflicting understandings of the world around them lead to a great many interesting moments. I really felt the character and the madness that infused their lives throughout the high fashion season. It made them very easy to connect with. These are the type of characters that you pray for a HEA for.
I had so much fun with this novel! I devoured it paged by page, word by word, in a single sitting. I can’t wait to see what Hayward comes up with next.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Set in the fashion industry of a mogul Fashion CEO, and a super model with anxiety issues. These two people need each other to survive, they just need to realise it.
It's been a while since I read a book set against the fashion industry world so I was eager to try this new to me author and her sizzling hot fake mates scenario.
The story opens with rich, cold as ice CEO of a prestigious Italian Fashion Design House, Rocco Mondelli, mourning his grandfather's death. Rocco's grandfather reared him and his sister after his mother died and his father fell apart as a result. He took the family company and made something of it and now the grandfather he loved seems to have betrayed him with his shocking legal arrangements when it comes to the company and to a private matter, one ex- runway model, Olivia Fitzgerald who may or may not have been his grandfather's mistress. Rocco's emotions boil over until he devises a calculated plan to get what he wants- control of the company.
Olivia walked- no ran- from her previous life after the death of a friend, a shattered romance, and a messy breakdown. She disappeared entirely and has been working on her dreams of designing her own clothing line with the help of mentor Giovanni Mondelli, but now she looks to lose it all as Giovanni's fierce grandson makes it clear what he believes about her. Then Rocco makes a shocking proposal. He will honor his grandfather's promise to her and make her dreams possible if she will agree to be the face of her new fashion line and agree to be his fake fiancee'. They can't stand each other so this is strictly business and she is terrified to re-enter the world she fled, but she can't make it without agreeing to Rocco's proposal. And that flame of attraction she feels and suspects he feels, too, will just have to stay under control.
I jumped in eagerly because of the setting and romance tropes. This was a quick read so it wasn't deeply developed though I did enjoy it. The misunderstandings and heat coming off this pair lit up the pages and gave me a good passionate romance. There are no big surprises, but that too offered its own form of enjoyment. Like many stories this one's barriers aren't insurmountable: enemies to lovers, fight the attraction, bossy bachelor avoiding his feelings and relationships, and girl who has dreams, but who needs to beat her inner demons.
As I said, this was a light, engaging read with a sultry romance with an alpha Italian lover, vulnerable American gal, and an interesting backdrop. I would recommend it to Contemporary Romance fans who want something light and easy with some spice.
I received this book as a prize, but this does not affect my honest review.
The Italian's Deal for I Do is exactly how a Harlequin Presents / M&B Sexy should be written (in my opinion). It has so much awesomeness packed into the pages I don't even know where to start.
I was captured from the first few pages with the brilliant descriptive writing. Rocco, our insanely amazing hero, has found out some bad news about his Granddad's bad health and the words used to describe how his heart dropped and how he found it hard to swallow was incredible - I could feel his pain, I could imagine it as if it were me! On his Grandad's deathbed he's told he must look after Olivia. Olivia who? Say what?
Olivia - a brilliant brilliant character I absolutely loved her! Well Rocco decides once he's found her that she's just a gold digging piece of work who's only sad about losing her cash cow and is so disgusted that this 20 something was lovers with his Grandad. Olivia - ex world famous model - dreams of nothing more than designing, it's in her blood and she'll do anything to achieve her dreams. Of course things aren't as they seem and Liv is just as disgusted Rocco clearly things so little of his Grandfather.
The incredible writing, brilliant descriptions and emotions continued to flow right through to the last page. I loved this story so much because it had loads of drama, the story flowed perfectly and the characters were written in such a way that I was so, so fully invested in them as well as Rocco's three best friends. I can.not.wait to read their stories!!! Rocco was the perfect stubborn hero, loved him to bits and Olivia was definitely his perfect match. I loved her unique story and I loved the road they traveled to reach the last page.
Lucky enough to know how beautiful Pachelbel's Cannon is, that part of the story was beautiful! If you aren't familiar with it, look it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stCKj... or my daughter's flute group, not bad for 12 year olds... https://vimeo.com/52505785
All I can say is THANK YOU Jennifer Hayward for writing such an incredible story, #1 in the Society's Wedding series. Thank you thank you thank you! (and thank you very much for the ARC, my honest opinion is it was faaaabulous and I want more lol)
Rocco is to die for!! And Olivia is such a departure from typical heroines...her story had me near tears. Such a great fake relationship story that twists the trope in an unexpected way. <3
Baru kali ini baca novel HQ sampai 2 hari. REKOR!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bukan krn novelnya jelek sih tapi MATTY effect ini masih ada residunya di benak saya. Jadilah kisah percintaan Rocco dan Olivia yg hot 🔥🔥 juga gak mempan membakar toxic dari Matty.
Plot ceritanya slow pace, dibungkus dgn alur cerita masa lalu affair-nya kakek Rocco dgn ibunya, Olivia.
Buat panjang²in cerita aja. Novel HQ ini tmsk panjang drpd yg biasanya cuma 224-250 hlm, yg ini 276 hlm.
Jadi kesimpulannya novel ini so so aja. Karakter keduanya biasa aja. Not bad but not too good. Tipe yg bakal gw lupakan stl membaca, gak bakalan memorable. Sebenarnya kangen jg baca HQ jadul yg bisa bikin terngiang-ngiang. Kynya udh gak bakalan menemukan hidden gems begitu lagi. Masanya juga udah berlalu.
Rocco Mondelli is shocked to discover that his late grandfather didn’t leave him a controlling interest in the family’s business. He is also disheartened to learn that his grandfather had been keeping a mistress young enough to be his granddaughter! However, Rocco soon finds that the young woman is super-model Olivia Fitzgerald, and she doesn’t want anyone to know who she is or why she skipped out on a very lucrative contract. Olivia Fitzgerald has her own demons to ward off and fighting an attraction to the handsome playboy isn’t helping things. Wanting only to realize her dreams and seeing that she doesn’t have another option, she agrees to the proposal that Rocco presents her with at the risk of losing herself. Will Rocco and Olivia find that sometimes the price of fulfilling their dreams is too great, or will they push on to achieve their goals?
The Italian’s Deal for I Do is an emotional tale that pushes the protagonists to work through their issues and truly trust each other before attainting their HEA.
Rocco was the typical jump-to-conclusions Hero, but he wasn’t too prideful to issue that apology when it was called for in The Italian’s Deal for I Do. Olivia was amusing when she teased Rocco about things that he completely denied. Placing him in the hot seat just added to the foreplay between the two of them in The Italian’s Deal for I Do. The troubles that Olivia went through seemed quite plausible, and I felt that Rocco was truly there to hold her hand as she navigated her way through them. Rocco and Olivia learned quite a lot on their road to HEA in The Italian’s Deal for I Do, and it was gratifying when they completed their tasks. I found that there was some symmetry in both Rocco’s and Olivia’s tasks, as well. Hindrances were placed in both their paths, but they had to choose what was more important in order to see things through. They seemed to realize that sometimes they would have to give up things in order to move forward in The Italian’s Deal for I Do, and this seemed to fully evolve their characters, too.
This book was reviewed by Vanessa for Joyfully Reviewed (JR), and was provided by the publisher/author at no cost to JR for the purpose of being reviewed.
I really enjoyed this book. My only complaint is that it dragged in certain places but not all the way through.
In order to obtain control of the family business, Rocco Mondelli needs to put his man-whore ways behind him and at least appear to be settling down. He has to please the board of directors who hold his future in the palm of their hand. He's not happy about that at all but what else can he do. His grandfather passed away and didn't leave him controlling interest in the family business that he helped to make much more successful than when his gramps was CEO...but gramps had his best interest at heart. His grandfather also asked him, with his final breath, to take care of Olivia Fitzgerald, a supermodel who has been in hiding from the public for a year. He has her set up in a lavish apartment and Rocco could care less. He is so certain that she was his grandfather's mistress and he treats her horribly, believes only the worst in her. He's angry and he's kicking her to the curb, giving her one month to get out regardless of his grandfather's deathbed request. It's what his grandfather wanted. She will be living on the streets if she can't afford an apartment...and she can't. They're too expessive in Milan.
Now all he has to do is convince her to go back into modeling so she can represent his fashion house and pretend she is his fiance. That ought to win him points with the board of directors. He basically blackmails her into doing this, really giving her no other choice.
My only complaint is that the hero was a huge man-whore up until he met the heroine. The way he talked about the women he slept with and how he cared nothing for them truly bothered me.
"The Italian's Deal for I Do" by Jennifer Hayward was given to me for an honest review prior to the release date. I LOVED it. It was one of those stories that I started at bedtime and didn't want to put down. I did read it in 1 day as the characters and book flowed magnificently. It grabs the reader from the beginning and keeps you guessing to the end.
We have Rocco Mondelli who is at his Grandfather's deathbed and one of the last things mentioned was having Rocco promise to take care of Olivia. Olivia Fitzgerald is a model who has gone into hiding after the death of her best friend and fellow model. The stress from modeling became too much too handle. At the hearing of the last will Rocco learns that his grandfather has an apartment that he knew nothing about. When he find out that Olivia is living there he jumps to the conclusion that she was his grandfather's mistress. Rocco meets Olivia and gives her an ultimatum. Agree to model for his company for one year and pose as his fiance for 1 year. Sometimes the best laid out plans can go awry. Feelings become involved, and as we learn more about each of them as a person, and their past becomes a part of the present.
The Italian’s Deal for I Do by Jennifer Hayward was a well written romance on the engagement of convenience trope. The romance flowed smoothly and was passionate and emotional. The marriage does happen but towards the end.
Olivia is a strong heroine because she had the courage to come out and face her demons again. I loved how the author portrayed her emotions and mapped out her journey throughout the story. I understood her inside out which is very rare for me personally. Rocco on the outer surface appears to be an arrogant, alpha hero used to getting what he wants but there is so much more to him than what appears. The amazing chemistry between the characters makes the romance believable and the secondary characters aid the story’s pace wonderfully.
Overall, The Italian’s Deal for I Do by Jennifer Hayward is a well written romance which reminds me why I love romance so much. A must read for everyone looking to get hooked to an amazing romance.Read More
THE ITALIAN’S DEAL FOR I DO by author Jennifer Hayward is a March 2015 release by Harlequin Presents.
On his deathbed, Rocco Mondelli’s grandfather uttered the words for Rocco to look after Olivia Fitzgerald. After which Rocco finds out that his grandfather had kept Olivia in a multi-million dollar villa in Paris, if she was not his mistress then who was she?
Trying to discover the truth about Olivia, Rocco falls for her charms. And then he hatches a plan to offer a deal to Olivia. Would she agree to his deal? What would happen when Rocco discovers the secret Olivia is hiding about why she can’t walk the catwalk again?
THE ITALIAN’S DEAL FOR I DO is a powerful story of red-hot passion, misunderstanding in relationships and redemption. Author Jennifer Hayward did justice to her characters Rocco and Olivia by bringing out tender emotion, sizzling sensuality and ultimately this was an uplifting romance.
This wasn't a very good book. The first thing that annoyed me was how Liv was portrayed as a beautiful model that men would just fall at her feet and of course Rocco, the gorgeous Italian CEO just has to have her to get what he wants. Seriously??. Why can't the woman be just an average every day female that meets the gorgeous man and builds a relationship. The second thing that annoyed me was the ending.
Awalnya terasa klise: Rocco sang tokoh pria mencela status Olivia yg dianggap sbg kekasih orang yg dihormatinya.
Jennifer Hayward creates a lavish, extravagant world where her three-dimensional characters whisk you into the realm of the affluent, powerful and sophisticated. Rocco Mondelli is gorgeous and commanding yet in the end his golden heart and his unyielding ego becomes soft with genuine love he develops for the stunning Olivia Fitzgerald, who is brave, talented and chic. The way Jennifer introduces and interweaves the characters for the future books in Harlequin's Society Weddings quartet also adds to the engaging drama in this rich, glossy story. With a satisfying and deserving happy ever after, The Italian's Deal for I Do, is a brilliant and entertaining until the last page.
This was a highly enjoyable read. I found Olivia's issues to be very believable (given how little I know about the fashion world, I have no trouble accepting just why she left modeling).
Rocco was a bit of a d-bag, but that's pretty typical for HP heroes. The final reconciliation was absolutely lovely and while I don't fully buy his redemption (because I'm sorry, he was a little over the top for me, even considering typical HP heroes), I'm very glad he and Olivia got their HEA.
Glad to read it. Jennifer Hayward keeps coming out with great books.

So it's probably telling that I made shouty comments all over this book, the most frequent comment being, "Oh, fuck you!" in response to something ridiculous said or thought by the hero. But I'm not sure if I was just bumping up against genre conventions that I didn't enjoy or if this book is genuinely problematic among other HPs. I'm going to need to talk to other readers who specialize in HP to hone my take on the book.
This is a story that you will read in one sitting it is so very sensual and heart warming as top model Olivia Fitzgerald and Fashion House CEO Rocco Mondelli travel a very emotional and soul revealing path to a most beautiful HEA. The setting is just awesome the characters rich and real in this one that will have you up late and turning the pages I loved it.
Wow. I am really impressed with Jennifer Hayward's writing. She is one of the best HP authors out there. This book had a depth not often found in HP novels. I can't wait to read about the 3 other friends in this series.
