Trey has his first encounter with Colton and things between him and Jake become more complicated. But trouble is never far from Jake, whose life has been rendered upside down and the only reason he is carrying on despite everything, is so he can be with his brother. But when he fails to save Colton, Jake gets into even more trouble with Weldon. It doesn't look like it’s going to end well.
“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.” ― Oscar Wilde
If you're into the fluffier side of life, you have my blessing but will you please take the next exit. For the rest of you depraved pervs, enjoy your stay ;)
This is book #3 of 5 and all books must be read in order.
In Taboo#2 I wondered a lot what was Weldon's deal and I also mentioned I didn't trust him. He seemed too nice and he was supposed to be the bad guy here. Well he really is and now that I've read more, I finally saw all his awful actions. Poor Jake.
I couldn't stop reading! This author's writing is wonderful in keeping you on the edge of your seat.
These are all short stories so they should be read back to back. But what am I talking about, you can't put them down even if you tried.
This short read is part of a serie dark reads. It's about a young guy named Jake who is sold by his dad to a cruel man named Weldon. Weldon has a whole circle of 'servants' working for him. Jake's brother Colton is also kept by this Weldon and Jake is trying to free both of them... only nothing is what it looks. You think it will be alright and then.... Why things are happening....we will learn while reading. Many questions will rise and you will try to find balance and you will not get it. It's mind-f*cking and that's the point!
It's recommend to read #1 and # 2 first. An extremely amazing written story and it will make you greedy for more and more...
So painful......More questions raising...Why.... Weldon....mr Jekyll and Hyde himself...why? Mace....damn I don't trust anyone anymore....is there any human thing in him? Trey....again I don't trust anyone anymore....what is your game....? Colton...so sorry for him....why him? power over....? Jake.....sigh.....in the middle of this shit hole... Doesn't know and understand why and what is happening....
Crazy story, very captivating it made me hungry for more and more. As always very well written...always making me feel insecure about the next step....making me stop to think about a next page....because my brain just can't reach that level. Waiting is my next step....for #4
This is for the ones who can handle dark violent reads which make you flinch because of many hurt and uncertainties...then... with other words... a #mustread I loved it!! This review is published on Divine Magazine
KOL KOL KOL KOL!!!!! I am left wanting more as usual, my evil wicked genius. My jaw dropped and I was left with my mouth wide open in awe! I went all in on this one and experienced every emotion on every page......I think that is one of Mr. Anderson's greatest asset as a writer. He manages to capture his reader and take them on this psychedelic emotional roller coaster. One page your crying, one page you scared out of your skin, the next page your cursing and screaming because you are so angry. It's a reading high like no other when you open the pages of his stories and TABOO, Book 3 is no different.
The story just got so much more powerful in Book 3 and it's very short but packs a mighty hard punch. The Guilt is weighing on Trey very hard, Jake is becoming a lifeless puppet and the ultimate puppet master, Weldon is pulling all the strings. One thing I took note of was that while Weldon is still the Devil himself, we did get to see a human side to Mace. I'm anxious to see where that's going.
I can't wait for more. If you love a fast pace, edge of your seat read then Start with TABOO, Book 1 and keep reading. I can guarantee that this is going to end up a favorite series!
Taboo Three gives readers of the series more insight into the supporting characters in Kol Anderson’s Taboo series.
We learn more about Colton’s situation, and possibly an idea of what Weldon intends to do with him. Mace shows some unexpected kindness and another side to his character. Could he end up being a good guy? And Trey is showing some depth while continuing to try to convince us (and himself) that he’s not bad, “not like them”.
Weldon slips in this book and his darkness shows through. As Jake starts to see the endlessness to his situation, he begins to understand the meaning of ‘despair’.
“It would stop when he wanted it to stop. It would end when he wanted it to end. I had to acquire the art of waiting.”
I doubt there is anything Trey can do to redeem himself for me – he’s the lowest of the low, giving glimmers of hope to Jake and Colton and presenting himself as a guide, a refuge? Not that there’s any chance of escape from this life, only that he can help them find a way to live during the duration of this horror.
In Taboo Three Jake finally realizes he can’t fool himself into thinking this is a new life for himself. Weldon is the bad guy. Trey is powerless. “Not everyone’s a savior,” Mace warns.
Jake and Colton are so far down the "rabbit hole" as Weldon stated that the light is barely shinning. Trey who wants to be Jake's Knight is turning into Colton's nightmare. Mace has ulterior motives with Jake but I wonder what they are.
This is reminding me of "The Flesh Cartel." The depiction of abuse is leaving me covering my face but my curiosity is hoping for the HEA. Ready for the next installment.
Remember when I said book 2 was almost happy and fluffy and out of Kol’s normal darkness? Remember when I also said that meant something bad was coming? Yeah well I was right.
Book three is darker and it’s twisting and turning into that hopeless despair that Kol does so well. Jake has gotten himself into a lot of trouble and we get to see… I shall say we are reminded how sick Weldon truly is.
Like the other two books this is a very quick read. All of these are fast and took me under a half an hour to read. Quick, depraved, and haunting.
You MUST read these stories in order. They are not standalone and they are following a path. You’d be totally lost if you read 3 first.
Wow....This series is just getting more and more intense....Jake tries to rescue Colton but doesn't quite go according to plan....I'm not sure what to think about Mace...whether he'll end up being a good guy but I do know I'm not keen on Trey....Why doesn't he help Jake?....What does Weldon hold over him for him to do what he's doing?......Weldon is pure evil and the scary thing is I don't think we've even seen half of what he's capable of.....Jake has to put up with what he throws at him and It's just going to get worse x
Part three of Kol’s new Taboo series really leaves you with more questions than answers and is a huge mindfuck with anything you believed before. I think this snippet was even shorter than the first two but it still managed to lead the reader on a merry dance and pack a punch.
Jake has a chance to escape but it’s obviously way too early in the proceedings for that to happen – however as he is running blindly around a maze of corridors he does manage to find his younger brother making his stress levels rise even further and leaving us unsure if he will survive when Weldon finds him. Colton has always been sheltered by Jake but now that he has to survive without him and he is being kept pumped full of drugs you have to wonder what his future will bring.
The rest of the cast and their actions are really confusing and as usual Kol is the master in subterfuge. I really can’t make up my mind about Trey and then there is Mace – what is going on with him in this episode? How does Weldon have and wield power over all these men? Gah, Kol….hurry up with part 4!
This series gets more intense with every installment! Just when you think you know how the players will act, they turn tides and leave you questioning. Will Trey come through and save Jake and Colton? Will he be able to get away himself? Weldon is not surprisingly as evil as ever, and what is with Mace showing some actual care? What’s in the “serum” they started giving Colton that he will get addicted to, and what will he have to do to get his fixes? How much more can Jake take before he completely breaks down mentally?
Yes, these are very short, but they each pack a jumbo punch that leaves you longing to read on. As with almost every Kol Anderson book, this one also left me screaming/crying at him to not stop there, to give more details and give these boys some much needed happiness in their lives. And while I’m sure Kol has a master plan, as he sits back and watches us squirm and squeal, all will be laid out in due time, though I am happy to say that he has been working his feisty little fingers on these so we don’t have too terribly long to wait.
You must read these in order, and I do not recommend you pick this up unless you know what you are in for. Kol’s books tend to carry a general theme of darkness and debauchery, and, as the title hints – taboo, so if you are a fan of these tags, I highly recommend you give this series a go.
Another great instalment in this series. It was a little too short but I enjoyed every word. The story is back where I wanted it to be, more into the dark side. I was feeling a bit disappointed by the previous one, but good thing I kept reading because this one was as good as I could expect it.
I loved the little interaction between the brothers, it was so bittersweet. I also liked how easy was to feel Jake’s hopelessness, he seemed so defeated on this part, it brought back to me the emotions I felt in the first instalment, on which I loved him the most and felt very protective towards him. Trey is still something I can’t figure out, he just isn’t giving me any emotion, he is too plain and I can’t care for him. I don’t even want him for Jake, I don’t see a real relationship there, I don’t know what will happen with them, but I just can’t have any sympathy for him.
The plot is just the continuing story of the other parts, it certainly wouldn’t work as a stand-alone. It was a little more exciting and a little bit darker, although I would like a little more description of some scenes, but I definitely was pleased with what I read.
omg I can't even explain why but damn this serie is addictive. Weldon is back to being the uber villian Trey I just dunno about him because what he said to Colton was fucked up. Mac is being some what nice??? Jake is still trying to survive and the Mind fuck still going strong.
Everytime I think I've figured it out you go and switch it on me LOL ( sill think I know) Jesus Jake breaks my heart. I want him to get out, seek revenge and get free to live..... twisted cruel fantastic story AND I CAN NOT WAIT FOR MORE!!!!!!! FANTASTIC
