Before he was trying to save the world, he just wanted to save his own ass. Bill Ryder has a problem: the vampires under his rule don't respect him. Unfortunately, in the world of the supernatural, that makes him as good as dead.
In order to keep breathing, Bill must become someone else ... something else.
Enter the Night Stalker, fearsome predator of the undead. In this menacing new guise, Bill hopes to strike terror into the hearts of his detractors. There's only one small issue – reading about superheroes and actually becoming one are completely different things.
Bill must take a crash course in all things vigilante. Because if he can't convince his Coven they need him, his tenure as an immortal creature of the night will be mighty short indeed.

Night Stalker – is a hard-clobberin', friendly neighborhood companion piece to the bestselling Tome of Bill saga. If you like laughs, adventure, and superhero mayhem then you'll love Rick Gualtieri's latest installment in this urban fantasy series with a nasty overbite.
Series note: this story takes place following the events of Bill The Vampire.
Rick Gualtieri loves to write adventure, mayhem, and snarky dialogue. His bestselling Tome of Bill series combines all of this into a world of supernatural danger with hard-hitting action and plenty of sharp-tongued geeky humor.
Rick lives alone in a dark, evil place called New Jersey with only his wife, three kids, and countless pets to both keep him company and constantly plot against him. When he's not busy monkey-clicking out words, he can typically be found jealously guarding his collection of vintage Transformers from all who would seek to defile them.
This little novella follows the story of one man trying to take over Bill's new job. Could have just been part of the next book, but whatever. This book has some of the same pretty-much-unforgivable flaws as the first. Overuse of the R word to refer to someone doing something idiotic, and even throwing in the N word when talking about a psycho vampire who has been formed by his traumatic past... you know, in slavery... I almost stopped it there, because I felt so gross. There's not much to this story, like I said. One battle, and nothing really changes at the end. Just setting up the official second book. Would recommend, but only if you don't mind the poor choices the author makes to give his characters more spunk. Blech.
How could I possibly have forgotten about these side stories?
Man, this was a fun journey back into the original Tome of Bill universe. Here we find Bill trying to prove himself to be the badass we know he isn't. And of course, we had Sally there throughout the entire thing to bring about some sarcasm along with prodding and planning that Bill often overlooks.
Rick and Chris both knocked this out of the park, as per the usual, with the writing and narration.
Bill's new coven just doesn't take him seriously. Given his lack of badassery, can he remedy their defiance and be taken seriously as their new fearless leader? Maybe with the help of his roomies!
For fans of the series this is a fun read that fills in a bit more of the early days of Bill's adventures. I recommend others start at the beginning of the series.
Had me hooked from the start. I read the first eight ToB books over a few weeks. I was very happy to find these small bites to hold me over waiting on Rick Gualtieri's next offering. Absolutely have and continue to recommend these characters and novels.
Not sure what else to say. Good segue between the books. Helps to connect them, also a great story. What SciFi geek out need had not daydreamed about something like this?
3 stars, I don't usually like .5 books, actually I hate them, but this one was okay. I really have to stop reading them as I always find them too short. Anyway this one is not bad if you like short story's. I am really liking this series tho and have already started the second book.
Bill is master of the clan, but they don't take him seriously. He needs to do something to get their respect. And does he. Rick has created a nontypicle world of vampires where there's more humor than horror
Worst than book one. The main character keeps getting dumber and dumber. Their "plans" make no sense. Sally is supposed to be the lovable b*tch. But they forgot to include any character traits that would make het lovable.
Giving one more book a try, but it isn't looking good.
Night Stalker pretty much defines Bill and Sally as who they are through the series... Bill remains about the same but Sally just gets better and better... Read the complete Tome of Bill and find out for yourself....
I am very happy to see another Bill the vampire book. This book kept me laughing. I was worried I had seen the last of Bill in book 8, but thankfully that's not the case. Fantastic book Rick, please keep them coming.
4.5 stars. Bill and Sally in the early days! I really enjoy the way they interact with each other! A very good story with plenty of laughs. When Bill tried to dislodge a dog that wouldn't let go of his sneaker, it didn't end well for the dog and I'll leave it at that.
