Australia, 1814 As a young child bound for a strange country, Sarah Whitaker dreamed of life with her father on his sprawling Australian ranch. But her hopes were shattered when she learned of his death and of her new role as heiress of the largest sheep farm in New Wales. Orphaned in a land greatly populated by petty criminals exiled from England, the future seemed grim. But now, ten years later, Sarah has defied the odds and become a successful businesswoman—much to the chagrin of her male counterparts. Hardened to the dishonesty of both her fellow ranchers and the felons in her employ, Sarah has learned one important no one is to be trusted. Daniel Burton is a lucky man. Sentenced to death for his role in a horse race scandal, Daniel was granted reprieve thanks to the influence of his wealthy relatives. Now, rather than death, Daniel faces exile in Australia—an opportunity to put past mistakes behind him. But when he purchases land with the intention of farming it, he unwittingly arouses the wrath of his new neighbor, Sarah. What begins as a battle of wits, however, soon becomes a warm friendship—and perhaps something more. But when Daniel’s secret past is revealed, will Sarah be able forgive yet another deception?

"Every Saint had past, Every Sinner has future"

Jennifer Moore's Miss Whitaker Open Her Heart was enthusiastic and enthralling book.
Historical fiction about British colony, The Lady had let her heart fell with a former convict.

Good pace of story comprising some great instances which made their way to became one eventually.
Different kind of romantic book and peculiar piece of writing skills.

Oh how I love Jennifer Moore's historical novels! I love the characters and I love the different setting she chooses. I love the historical aspects and I even love the love stories. I will admit I got choked up a few times in this book. The pain and anguish of the lives of these characters, some their own choosing and some were choices placed upon them.

I think something I really love about Jennifer Moore's characters is the growth they have to experience. Every time I read her books, I can relate to the characters through either their struggles, their emotions, their desires, their sacrifices or their healing. Sarah Whitaker was a well written character! She looses her mother at a young age and when she finally gets the chance to be with her father in Australia on his farm, she arrives to find him murdered. She sure is a plucky young girl and steps right up to the challenge of continuing on her father's legacy despite the danger and the odds against her. I loved seeing her as a young girl at the beginning of the book and then seeing her as a grown young woman.

Daniel Burton is a character we got a little glimpse of in Miss Burton Unmasks a Prince. Daniel is the brother to Miss Burton. Unfortunately he has his own share of problems through choices he's made and soon finds himself in Australia. Trying to better himself and atone for his mistakes, he happens to cause problems from the lovely Miss Whitaker(unknowingly of course).

Two different characters with two very different views and opinions of the world must come together and reconcile their differences if they have any chance of future happiness together. I must say that it wouldn't be the easiest life to live and differences to reconcile but I loved watching the journey of these two characters. The experiences they have after meeting which also help to shape and mold their lives and choices.

Beautiful story! One I thoroughly enjoyed!

Content: Clean. Some moments of peril, fire, death but nothing graphic.

I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Whenever I read a historical novel by Jennifer Moore, I'm guaranteed to be swept away to an earlier era and the location is always unique to any other book I've read! Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart is no exception- I was completely immersed in early 19th century Australia, and the dynamics of the community and politics there were fascinating! I loved learning details about the lives and hardships of the people who relocated there from Europe. The characters are developed so well that I felt like I knew them and was invested in their decisions and hoping for a happy ending, especially for Sarah who suffered the loss of the people in her life who loved her. The themes of overcoming prejudice, compassion, and forgiveness are strong as Daniel and Sarah are confronted with life-changing decisions. I loved their friendship and budding relationship, which developed naturally over the course of the story.

In a gripping story of redemption, this author weaves a tale full of historical facts, romance, and entertainment. I guess I haven't been fortunate to read a lot about what was going on in Australia during the Regency period. Convicts made their restitutions and settlers forged new territory, seemingly with either horse or sheep farms, and Aborigines struggled to understand the motives of these newcomers. I was fascinated by all the details and relationships, but especially with Sarah.

As a young child, she sailed to Australia to finally be with her settler father again, only to find out that he had died just months before. Due to a few misfortunate events, she struggles to trust and doesn't think anyone can change. While I could completely understand her feelings, it was frustrating to me that she could judge others so harshly. She had some pretty harsh prejudices. I love the events that almost force her to reconsider and to take a deep, inner look at herself.

This story isn't all as light and fluffy as sheep's wool--there are some great teaching moments, times of danger and adventure, endearing friendships, and a tad bit of sweet romance. I love how this author tells the tales of so many different places during this time period and they're not all set in the ballroom or at a country estate.

Content: mild violence (vague talk of death, danger, etc); mild romance.

First, I love this cover. It feels so romantic to me.

Second, I love Jennifer Moore's books. She has such a unique take on regency romances. They vary in settings and never feel very typical. This one is set in New Wales (Australia) where Sarah Whitaker is carving out the life her father started in ranching and sheep. We get our first look at Sarah as she crosses the oceans on her way to New Wales as a young girl. I loved the glimpse at who Sarah was in the beginning before struggle, sadness and distrust took over.

Daniel is a good counter balance to Sarah. He believes in mercy and second chances where Sarah has hardened herself against those who need and desire those very things. Daniel and Sarah come from very different places due to life's experiences. I loved how I could see and sympathize with both sides of this story. I loved both Sarah and Daniel.

I honestly loved this book. I loved the struggle, the setting, the characters, everything. It settled gently into my mind and heart. LOVE!

Content: Some mild peril

I have always wanted to visit Australia and after reading this book I want to go even more!

Set in 19th century Australia, we meet Sarah who had lost both of her parents by the age of 10. After her father's death, she finds herself to be one of the wealthiest sheep farmers in the area. She had grown up with all the trust in the world for others around her. But different circumstances over the years have hardened her heart and has her realizing that you can't trust anyone.

After poor choices on his part that lands him in jail, Daniel finds himself in Australia with a second chance to get his life back on track. Determined to make things right, he sets out to help others around him and make their lives better.

While Sarah and Daniel didn't get off to the bests of starts, they were able to eventually put their judgments aside and get to know each other as friends. The more time they spent together, the stronger their feelings become. But all that is thrown away once Sarah discovers his past. There is no way they can be together now.

Trusting someone doesn't come easily for Sarah. The older she gets, the less she trusts. But she really thought she could trust Daniel. Hurt and broken she has to decide. Does she want to be alone and miserable for the rest of her life? Or will she be able to open her heart and let faith and hope heal all that has been broken.

I really enjoyed Sarah and Daniel's story. There were times that it was a bit slow for me and I found myself struggling to get through, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I'm definitely looking forward to reading Conall's story!

I have been a fan of Ms. Moore's since the very first book of hers I read. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

"A person is not what he has done in the past. He becomes what he chooses to do with the life he's been given."

This line from 'Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart', really touched me. How often do we spend analyzing the mistakes of our past, or of those around us? Judging ourselves and others. Change is available to all, because of the sacrifice of the One. I was grateful for this sweet reminder as I read this extensively researched & beautifully written story by Jennifer Moore.

Should we be surprised? Not really. Jennifer has proven to be an expert at taking us to new lands in her expanding collection of historical fiction novels. In her latest book, we are transported along with the convicts from England, to the penal colony of New South Wales, Australia. It's 1814, and Sarah Whitaker is aboard a merchant ship with her Aunt, anticipating a reunion with her Father. He left England years earlier after the death of her mother, to make a new life raising sheep, and exporting the finest Saxon-Merino wool. But tragedy has arisen and now she must face living in this new land without him.

Ten years have passed, and Daniel Burton is to be hung for a scandal in which a racehorse ended up dead. His relative the Duke of Southampton has come to his aid, but the best he can do is arrange for transportation to Australia, aboard a convict ship. He has the funds to make a new life for himself upon arrival and is spared a life of servitude for his crime. Daniel comes upon a beautiful farm for sale, and intends to change his life into something he dreams will erase the mistakes of his past. That is until, he discovers his disgruntled and unforgiving neighbor, the beautiful Miss Sarah Whitaker.

I really enjoyed this book. The plot is rich with descriptions of a land that is unfamiliar to me. The exotic animals, the rolling green hills that remind them of England, yet also vastly different. The aboriginal natives who are so misunderstood, yet Daniel reaches out and finds ways to befriend and communicate. The history of this time, as many emigrated to Australia, either through convict transportation or those looking for a new life. I always learn so much about new places & their history from reading Jennifer's books.

I'd like to note one more thing. The cover! Oh yes this cover! It is so different from the previous book covers on her books. As one who has chosen many novels based on cover art alone, and seen how common it is amongst book buyers (from a seller point of view) - I am certain this change will reap the rewards. The picture conjured up all kinds of thoughts when I first saw it, and it belongs right there with any classic story, that has been made into a movie. This cover could literally also belong on a DVD case. Just stunning.

Thank you to Jennifer Moore for the complimentary author copy she sent me. She did not ask for a review but I am more than happy to write one. This is my honest review.

I no longer read most of the books published by Covenant because the ebook prices are ridiculous but I managed to buy a paperback of this one.

I've read most of Jennifer Moore's books (except Simply Anna) but I've never felt like any of them were wow books.

But this one—Wow! I loved it so much! The characters were excellent and the setting was so well done in working to help the story and characters move forward.

I found the ending very emotional (before the epilogue).

This is one worth reading more than once.

I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were strong, sympathetic, believable, and well-developed. The writing style was quite lovely. The setting (a sheep ranch in Regency era Australia) was well-researched. It was very tame for a romance (nothing beyond a kiss!) which was too chaste for me, and the chemistry between hero and heroine wasn't as strong as I'd like, but I enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet romance in a historical setting.

You can find this review in English below.

No puntúo. No sería justo.

ARC provided by Covenant Communications via Netgalley.

Slow and so imprecise story.

Almost at the halfway of the story and nothing has happened. The descriptions, which at first were interesting, have become boring and repetitive. The characters are flat and one-dimensional. They are very good people or very bad ones, there is nothing in between. The MC´s hardly have chemistry and they contradict themselves and /or change of opinion constantly.
I can see coming the heroine´s "secret" and do not think it will be realistic enough to justify her behavior. Anyway, I can´t get invested in the story so I prefer to leave it now.
I do not rate. It would not be fair.

I loved this book. Jennifer Moore's books take me to places I'll never get to see in person. This story takes place in Australia in 1814. Sarah Whitaker and her aunt travel to Australia via a 6 month journey on a boat only to find upon arrival that her father was killed a few weeks earlier. She and her aunt stay in this strange land and learn to operate the farm that her father had started. The story then jumps ahead 10 years to find Sarah a well accomplished farmer and sheep owner.

Daniel Burton also finds himself on a boat to Australia but as a felon. An American living in England, he gets caught up in gambling and because of a poor choice made out of desperation he is almost sentenced to death. A wealthy relative arranges for him to be exiled to Australia and upon his arrival he buys the property right next to Sarah Whitaker.

While learning to operate her farm Sarah has been taken advantage of and decided she can't trust anyone, especially felons. Daniel wants to leave his mistakes in the past and start life anew and eventually he and Sarah become good friends until she finds out about his past and how he came to live in Australia. This is a beautiful story about forgiving yourself and others and learning to trust again. Another win for author Jennifer Moore. I loved the cover too.

Once again, Author Jennifer Moore has delivered another book that is outside the box of the typical Regency Romance that seems to be written these days. This book takes place in Australia, New Wales to be specific in the early 1800's. Sarah Whitaker comes to New Wales as a young girl to live with her father only to find out he has been murdered. Sarah and her aunt decide to stay and keep the farm and the sheep. Sarah becomes very adept and successful at what she does but harbors a great dislike for fellow ranchers and felons in her employ and the dishonesty these groups of people have shown in New Wales. She also hates the native people, the Aborigines, who she believes were responsible for the murder of her father and is very prejudiced against them.

Daniel Burton soon comes into her life. He is a convicted felon but is lucky to have money from his uncle to buy land and freedom to start anew in New Wales without anyone knowing about his past. Daniel buys the land next to Sarah, which puts them off to a bad start since Sarah wanted that land. It is a slow process, but step by step Daniel proves to be a loyal and trusted friend to Sarah.

Without going into too many details, since it would absolutely ruin the entire book for future readers, Sarah's heart slowly opens and she starts learning to trust people that she'd vowed she'd never do. Daniel has a big hand in helping Sarah change. This was such a lovely thing to read as they slowly became closer through varied events happening. I quite liked their interactions. Sarah is so tough on the outside and it was fun to watch how Daniel chipped away at the outer shell and broke through to the loving soul that was inside of Sarah. The more she opened up, the more I liked the character. I quite understood why Sarah acted the way she did because she'd experienced so many losses in her life. It was very satisfying in the end to see how love freely given can truly change someone's heart and how forgiving others can mend one's soul too.

This sweet tale of romance, filled with some angst and tense moments, gets 4 stars from me.

Sarah Whitaker is a sweet girl who longed to be with her father. She's to join him on his ranch in Australia, but after the five month voyage to get to him, she finds out he's been killed. Determined to manage the ranch herself, after a ten year struggle, she becomes one of the best ranch managers in the area. But that comes with a price, as she's also been betrayed by those she should have been able to trust. Because of that, she's closed off her heart to anyone---until she meets Daniel Burton.

Through a series of misconceptions, Daniel and Sarah get off on the wrong foot. He thinks she's a heartless employer and while he feels a connection to her, he pushes that down. He's not going to let himself be drawn into her spell. But what if he's wrong about her? Can there be something more than friendship between them?

I really loved the push and pull with the two main characters and how they came to like and respect each other. It definitely wasn't insta-love and I enjoyed the build up. (The sparkle between them was so great and definitely the kind that kept me up late!) The back stories of the two characters really provided a lot of depth and believability for the circumstances and will tug at your heartstrings. The changes each character goes through is what makes this story stand out, not only for the main characters, but the supporting cast as well. I particularly enjoyed the setting of Australia in this time period, and the details made it so real! It was very well done. The author had obviously done her homework with sheep farming and penal colonies, and it really came to life in this story.

I could hardly put the book down, and this is definitely going onto my Favorites shelf for a rainy day re-read. Loved it!

Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart is another win for Jennifer Moore. I love her books and I can always count on her for an enjoyable read. I really had no idea what took place in Australia during this time period. It was fascinating. Jenny does a great job of writing romance, she also excels at writing this time period and introducing the reader into something they may not be familiar with. I loved Sarah. She is tough but also vulnerable. Daniel had been through some tough times, most of it brought on by foolish decisions, but I appreciated how he fought his way back. I loved the back and forth between Sarah and Daniel. The setting was intriguing and was a huge part of the story too.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

MY TAKE
I listened to the audiobook. As always, the narrator does a wonderful job.

It took me only a minutes to place Daniel, whom we see in Miss Burton Unmasks a Prince. Besides being able to transport me back in time and into different locations, one of the things I love about Moore's writing is how much she makes me care about her characters.

Daniel and Sarah both have needs, and it was lovely to see them find ways to fill those for each other. The character growth was great, and my heart especially broke for Daniel. It can be a hard thing to make a mistake, especially one that could make you a convict and kicked out, lucky not to have been hung.

Moore addresses the prejudices as well as the reasons why some of them were justified. But Daniel's wonderful heart, looking at so many others who had made mistakes, wanted to see the best because if they could change their lives, so could he. Redemption is always one of my favorite book themes. In my mind, it's so much better than vengeance stories that suck all the hope out of a person's life. And bore me stupid besides.

[Disclaimer: I have a mention in the Acknowledgments in Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart. I was forwarded a copy as a gift. I was not asked to offer a review, and probably would not have, but the romance is quiet sweet and the location close to my heart.

Jennifer Moore has done a wonderful job completely on her own of creating Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart and whatever influence I had on the story is simply as another author who she has read and offered some minor suggestions regarding researching the area and a read through of some opening chapters.]

If you love sweet romances this is a perfect read. I’ve never read a pure romance set in Australia in this period that I can recall. It opens in 1814 with a young Sarah Whitaker on board a ship and on her way to Australia with her aunt to meet up with her father who owns a property named after his daughter in a not stated area between Parramatta and the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. On her arrival, Sarah discovers her father has been murdered by the aborigines.

Our hero is Daniel, an American, who is involved in a horse race scandal in England and in turn finds himself in Newgate prison. He escapes the death penalty and is transported to Australia for 14 years.

When Daniel arrives in Australia, a wealthy influence in England allows him to hide his convict past and he is given neighbouring land to Sarah.

Sarah has been in the colony now for ten years. Sarah has defied the odds and is a successful business woman who runs her farm, but the past ten years have left Sarah hardened against convicts and aborigines. When Daniel becomes her neighbour, she doesn’t know about his convict past and grows to trust him.

Daniel’s knows he is fortunate to have been given a second chance and is determined to do everything he can to put things right and become an honourable citizen of the strange land. Having Sarah as a neighbour makes the prospects look so much brighter, but what will the lovely Miss Whitaker do if she discovers Daniel’s past?

If you are looking for a light read, with very likeable characters, set in the regency period in Australia then Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart should be satisfying.

Sarah Whitaker came to Australia as a child and learned upon her arrival that her father had been killed two months prior. She stayed and eventually became a successful business woman living out her father's dream on the farm he had built, Sarah Hills. She had trust issues with the aborigine people and convicts that were hired after arriving on the convict ships. She had reason not to trust from some prior experiences.

Daniel Burton had been convicted of a crime in England and had been sentenced to die, but was granted a reprieve because of a wealthy relative who begged for leniency and paid his debts. He was treated well on the convict ship and upon arriving in Australia was able to buy a beautiful piece of property to begin farming and make something of himself. He felt guilt and shame because of his past deeds but was determined to use the chance given him to make something worthwhile. His farm was located next to Sarah Hills and when he met his new neighbor, he was intrigued but soon learned of her mistrust of convicts and didn't want that information to come out. As their relationship grew to friendship, he began to want something more but would he ever be able to have that with Sarah Whitaker? Would she ever be able to trust that his intentions were honorable and that he had changed? Or, would she hold to her old beliefs that people could never change?

I absolutely loved this book and the story that was told. It was a beautiful story about love, loss, trust and change. The story tugged at your heartstrings and made me want to cheer for character's success in overcoming their challenges. I have read other books by this author and have never been disappointed. I was given an complimentary copy of this book and happily leave my review.

I have to admit this was a slow start for me. I wasn't interested in the way Sarah was in the beginning. I almost stopped reading. But, I am very glad I finished it! I found myself sobbing through much of the last half of the book. Sarah and Daniel both grew and changed and I now see why the beginning was the way it was.

I enjoyed reading how people learn to forgive and change and grow and love others and serve others and help others and the diversity in this book. Some people are snobby and don't forgive though! And many people are hypocrites!

I don't really want to go into the book on the characters. As all the characters have meaning in the book and it is the change in them that makes this book incredibly good!

If you like watching people grow and forgive and love and change and see others in a different light, if you like reading about forgiveness, if you like the sea, horses, land, sheep, working hard then this might be for you. I will be reading this book again and again!

All I see is 5 stars for this. It was a good, fun, easy read, but NOT 5 stars! I am really picky on what I give 5 stars to, and this book didn't even get 3.

I did enjoy it. I knew I would, that is why I bought it. A big problem with this book was I did not feel that the two main characters had any chemistry. Every time they met it was strained. Nothing they did drew me into their story. No time did I want them to interact more. And you know a part of a book is good when you go back and reread it to get the feeling of it again. There wasn't one part that I went back and reread.

I did like how her heart was changed. She saw others there in Australia as people. That part was touching.

I kept wanting this book to be more, and it didn't ever develop for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Loved the strong character of Miss Sarah Whitaker and her weakness of longing for family that Daniel burton was able to see and fill. Loved the valuable lesson of "a person is not what he has done in the past. He becomes what he chooses to do with the life he's been given". This is especially important seeing how Australia is the place that convicts and felons are sent to live out their sentences of crime. They are used by the colonies for labor. Sarah learns to trust again and forgive and make a family for herself.

I absolutely loved this book. It was very well written and made me tear up in a few spots, as well as laugh out loud in others. I loved the characters and the setting. Very well done.
On a side note, if you are a fan of Carla Kelly's book Reforming Lord Ragsdale, he make a small guest appearance in this book which was a fun thing to see as well.
I highly recommend this book as well as Jennifer's other works.

I absolutely adore Jennifer Moore's books!
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. that she writes Regency Romance, but in such unique settings like this one-- Sarah Whitaker is a single, proper woman in Australia--Australia! SO FUN! She is just trying to run her ranch the best she can while being surrounded by aboriginals, cockatoos, and convicts. And now she has a new neighbor--Daniel. Sometimes after being hurt over and over it just becomes easier to not put your heart on your sleeve. See how it all turns out in this wonderfully written story. Add this to your MUST-READ list!

I was interested in this book because of its location, Australia. I love Australia and have to say that I haven't read many books with an Australian setting, especially in this era. The historical aspect of it alone had me fascinated. A headstrong woman in the middle of Australia as the head of a ranch. Incredible with just that alone. The characters were wonderful. It was easy to see exactly why they did what they did and made the choices they made. Sometimes all the self-questioning that happens in a romance bothers me, but in this story I could really feel why the doubts were there and why the questions kept being asked. It was a fantastic story that held everything you could imagine: heartbreak, betrayl, love, hardship, suspense, growth. I would highly recommend it to any and everyone, even those who are not really fans of romance. There is a lot to learn in this story.

I really like Jennifer Moores writing style. She writes a different kind of regency and I like it. Some of her books have taken place in London but the past couple have been in the colonies of Britain so you get the regency feel and then get to know a different place and setting. She does a great job with the settings and making them come alive. This one is in Australia in it's very early settlement days. Her characters are deep and come alive for me. The tension and movement in this book is very good. These books are all clean with a bit of religion like going to church and trying to be good people. The romance is sweet and deep and enjoyable:}

Love, love, love this book!!!! Jennifer Moore pulled out all the stops to deliver this amazing story of self discovery, forgiveness, and a change of heart! Daniel is a wonderful character who believes people can change if they really want to. Sara is a young woman with spunk and heart. Captain Thackery is a sub character that shines throughout the book.

I can't wait for Jennifer's next high seas adventure.

I loved the historical details in this story--the tales of what life was like for convicts and citizens at this time, what early frontier Australia was like, the Aborigines, crazy Australia animal life, and so forth. I felt the author did a great job of transporting me to the land down under and making me care for the characters. I loved Sarah's strength, and I adored Daniel's optimism and determination to change his life for good. They were perfect for each other, and I loved their journey towards love. When feelings bloom between the two neighbors, Sarah believes her dreams are finally coming true. But when she discovers Daniel’s past, she may not be able to forgive or forget. Her life has been full of troubles and wounds from those she’s trusted before. She's become cynical in this cruel country and doesn’t believe people can change. This was a great tale that had a little of everything--exotic setting, endearing characters with flaws and demons. Though it is a slower paced novel, it wove so many layers of mystery and emotion into each chapter that I eagerly kept turning pages. Overall, this is a solid, great read. It was delicious as a hot fudge brownie sundae, and I wanted to savor the message and words long after I finished it. ***I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review.

I was so excited when I got this book in the mail. I wanted to get started right away, but figured it would be better to wait until my trip so I had uninterrupted time to dive right in. I love that Moore writes in places that are generally not written about. You hear about convicts being sent to Australia, but you never read about them. Now you get to! And you won't be disappointed.

With her descriptive writing you get lost in the story right away. Everything from Sarah's loss, to Daniel's poor choices and where that leaves him. And oh the angst you feel for him when he is trying to tell her about his past. Gah! Just tell her already!

My one issue with the book was that it was all resolved just a little too quickly. You have most of the book leading up to the conflict, and with most of the book finished it just seems to fix itself rather quickly. While it would be nice if forgiveness was that fast and straight forward, it wasn't super realistic in my mind. Granted, it isn't going to stop me from rereading it, or recommending it to my friends. I'm happy to have this on my self to enjoy again and again.

Romance, clean
Lovely, lush period setting in Australia. The conflict and the 'secret' that was in the story seemed to drag a bit, but loved the ranch life, the struggle to be human, the conflicts with character and integrity towards others. J.M. Definitely has a message she wants across with regard to the treatment of the people in Australia, whether indigenous, or convicts, and some of the characters were definitely caricatured to 'villianize' them. Sarah and the Daniel were lovely contrasts, and their fall and story sweet, conflicted, and beautiful. Some lovely side characters and the setting, wild, scenic and lovely. Their struggle to build and work for their dream was a lovely setting for this romance, and Daniel's redemption and will to become better and escape the mistakes of his past, a 'real' and honest part of this novel. Lovely read!
