Von lives by three relationship rules—no lies, no games, and no strings. Justin has him breaking all three.

Von knew the first time he kissed Justin that the man was different. Justin didn’t play by Von’s usual rules. He also knew Justin was way too passionate to be tied down by someone who travels as much Von has to with his team. For a while, Von was content with being Justin’s part-time lover. That is, until Justin decides to be his no-time lover.

At first, Justin was star struck by the sexy hockey player. Von’s brilliant mind, good looks, and delicious accent had Justin enthralled. He might have chosen to stay Von’s friend with benefits forever if Von hadn’t flaunted another man in his face. Justin might like Von, but he’s no one’s fool. Unfortunately, when he chooses to give Von one last chance, the man rips out his heart, leaving Justin broken and infuriated.

When Von ignores Justin’s fury and refuses to go away, Justin is left with two choices. Either he can listen to Von beat on his front door for the rest of his days or he can let him in and pound some sense into the man who’s ruined Justin for all others.

Currently, it's 4 A.M. and I just finished this heart-wrencher I read in one sitting.
In keeping with the theme of this batch of books, this is about finding love, really REALLY screwing it up by doing something seemingly unredeemable, then moving heaven and earth to get that second (or third) chance. Knight in shining armor stuff. I don't want to spoil it but just to say tears were in fact shed. So were curses, outbursts, and a whole lot of tissues.
Take care of the people you love.

I really enjoyed this latest Hard Hit book. I would have liked to see a little more of Von and Justin meeting and beginning of their relationship. This book jumped in mid story so I feel a stronger story was missed.

Still it was a great installment.

This book was an ok read. I didn't love it. The characters were all over the place with their emotions, which is What I liked most about the book. Justin forgave Von way too quickly. I wish characters would hold out a bit longer, nobody plays hard to get anymore.

FANTASTIC*UNFORGETTABLE*BEAUTIFUL

Von and Justin were complicated, extremely HOT, sad but beautiful. This story shows that no matter what, the heart wants what the heart wants. No matter what a relationship looks like on the outside. When there is true love, it will find a way. I was overjoyed to see Jamie and Hawke make an appearance in this story. I always love to get past character updates. This was an UNFORGETTABLE fantastic story and I truly hope it's not the last book of this series. This was a MAGNIFICENT SERIES filled with remarkable characters and storylines. I ENJOYED reading every installment and appreciate all the dedication and hard work that Charity Parkerson and her team gave to each and every book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS FANTASTIC, INCREDIBLE SERIES!!!!!

Review for Pound by Charity Parkerson

“I didn’t walk away from you. You let me leave.”

Gutted…this book GUTTED me! First off, a round of applause to the author for making want to both love and hate a character all at once. Justin must be one forgiving soul ‘cause I would have shoved Von’s hockey stick right up his…well, let’s not get into that…

If you are a fan of Charity’s Hard Hit series, then go one click this and grab a box of Kleenex, and maybe a punching bag to keep you from throwing your Kindle across the room when Von gets all douchebaggy. This story is a roller coaster of emotions, and it’s just what I love in a romance! Would recommend this story as well as any of the author’s other books!

Bitter sweet

I had a really hard time forgiving Von during the course of this story. I get that he was socially inept, and that he truly loved Justin, but the sheer pain that he put Justin through, repeatedly, was hard to let go. I'm still not entirely sure that I buy into Justin's forgiveness and acceptance of Von in his life so easily. But the end of the story was beautiful and I loved that Von was able to convince Justin of the value that he placed on him.

All choked up...

Very emotional!! I choked up quite a few times with Justin. Felt his pain and suffering..his anger over his broken heart. Von really is the biggest of idiots....how do you do the things you do to the one person you love most in the world??? I would have done the same as Justin in the end but I really didn't want him to forgive him...it was just to painful and I really have done the same in the past , so this is how it had to be.

Wow

I was pulled into the storyline quickly, loving both Von and Justin. I was thinking what could go wrong and then everything did, I was emotionally just as crushed as Justin. This was a great read for me and enjoyed the ending. Sad to hear this may be it, as this author series gets better with each installment. Plus I love hockey themed books.

Good Read

I like this series. The characters are well written and very endearing. There are times in this story that make you want to slap both main characters and times when you wanna cry for them. I'm looking forward to reading another book from this author.

I can't stop reading them!

These books are so good you just want to keep reading them. I have to earn you though. This one will have you swearing and threatening bodily harm to one of the characters... A lot. Jamie and Hawke really impressed me here.

Kill Von

That was my main phrase throughout this book, kill Von. If I was Justin, I just might have.

I’m glad to see Von pulled his head out of his ass and Justin finally got his HEA.

I kinda hate Ms. Parkerson right now. I expect the men in her stories to be tortured before they get their HEA. But lung cancer?! I was crying throughout the book, and it pissed me off. I felt like they had enough issues without this.

Loved Justin, hated Von. He was a dick and treated Justin like crap. That hospital scene….ugh 😡

The three stars are purely for Justin, Jamie, and Hawke.

Another powerful story in this series. I must confess that at times, this one irritated me, but ultimately, all made sense, and was worked through

Another solid addition to the Hard Hit series. Charity Parkerson always comes through with a sey, emotional, story wrapped up in hockey or whatever she is writing about. Good read, well worth your time.
