Satan's Devils MC #2

Drummer's Beat

Rate this book
Drummer

As President of the Satan’s Devils MC I can have every and any woman I choose, and do. That’s how I got my name. But I’m happy with the variety, I know I’d never find a woman my equal to be my old lady.

Then I meet her, on the road to my compound, standing beside a goddamn Vincent Black Shadow, one of the most iconic bikes of all time. When she tells me she’s Viper’s daughter, I know she has to be lying. There’s no way he’s fathered a child, not one of her age, it’s just not possible. I can’t deny an attraction to her, but if she’s who she says, she’s the one woman I’m unable to have. I can’t go against a brother.

Sam

Trouble, I’ve found, comes in many forms. Trouble in the shape of the surly president of this MC who just wants me gone. Trouble in that my father denies our relationship, and the trouble that’s followed me the fifteen hundred miles I’ve ridden to come to find my surviving parent. And when my past catches up with me, I need the protection of the MC to keep me safe.

I’ve never been a girly girl and not particularly interested in finding a man. But Drummer’s something else, and denying my attraction to him might be my biggest battle of all.

Manda Mellett

Manda’s life's always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

Honestly this is more of a 3 Star read but comparing it to the first book, which I had more issues with, I'm bumping it up to a 3.5, rounded to 4.

Drummer!

This was a great follow up to the first book in this series. Drummer is the prez that happens to find Sam stranded on the side of the road. There's action plus twists with some sexy times too.

LOVED it!

I love MC Bikers romances, this is a new author for me and will be reading her again. This story starts out with a woman breaking down with her motorcycle and the president of the Satan Devils MC helping her out, she had a secret that she needed to go to the Satan Devils club, her name is Sam or Wench and Drummer is the president. Sam tells Drummer that one of his brothers is her father that she has never met and just wants to meet him so he lets her come to the Club, it's not a great first meeting and her bike needs a part, what I love about is that Sam in mechanic that grew up working on bikes and cars and she is so good that if the brothers are impressed, Drummer is a hard and tough president does not know what hit him with Sam, they are attractive to each other but Drummer fight it and she is to leave too,but things start happening that is good to Sam and bad for her and the Club. There is a lot of great characters that I want a story on. Hot sex scenes and there is great action as well, awesome read i will be looking at her other books, will be recommend this book to all romance readers.💗

Drummer’s Beat is the second book in Satan’s Devils MC Series by Manda Mellett. This is a riveting MC story- with complex, quirky and loveable characters, camaraderie, family, friendship, loyalty, chemistry, sparks, tension, sizzle, and drama.
This could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the previous book to get the ‘full’ experience.
Drummer is the Satan’s Devils MC president and takes his responsibility very seriously. He doesn’t have time or need for romantic relationships, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy the ‘company’ of a woman. So, what happens when he comes across a woman stranded on the side of the road who claims to be related to one of the Devils? Especially when he knows that can’t be possible- could it?
Another captivating instalment in the series!

Thank you, Ms. Mellett!

Can't beat this Racy, raging hot read!
So. Tucson. That place literally gets flooded with the Satans Devils MC.

This is the first book I have read from Manda Mellett, courtesy of an ARC, and I'm glad I let this one jump the queue.
So. OK.
Hunky tattooed biker MC? Check.
Secret baby phenomenon? Check ( yes. Check. Just read the book)
BDSM Master/ slave dynamic explored? Check.
Virgin territory for H and h? Check. (yes. CHECK. Just READ the book)
Darkish read without getting too dark for the weak spirited and highly strung? Check
Machine guns, mayhem, murder, mommies and military? Check.Check.Check. Just keep checking...

What's not to lurve here???

This is a great mix - like a peanut butter cup...or a salted caramel sundae...a lil bit sweet, a lot sharp, tied together as a gritty book, the second in the Satans Devils MC series (btw..who else's Devils would they be? Just sayn...)

Can be read as a standalone, with only a few niggling throwbacks to the escapades of Book #1 which can be easily ignored by the thunderous pace of this gem.

Manda has Drum/Drummer's male PoV of the H down pat, as unapologetic and frustratedly confused as any good MC Prez should be with the feelings he is having to handle. It's a joy to follow the unfolding of this relationship in spite of the backdrop of guns, murder, torture, BEER, bikes and bikers.

But the kicker for me is Sam/Samantha, the strong, sexy, intelligent h of this tale. Just loved her sass and grit.

Great plot, some brilliant cringeworthy scenes ( I seriously read a few peeking out from between my fingers in horror/ embarrassment...)

This is a solid 4 star read

The only problem for Manda is the risk that with all the tropes and genres woven into this book, there may be nothing left to give in any future books to this series!

Which would be a pity as I've added Ms Mellett to my extremely small list of 1-click buy authors!
Woman, pull up a shelf and park your sweet butt (oops )...and the smexy scenes? All I can say is "strike a light! Good on yer, girl" - welcome to her library of congress...!!

First read by this author. It was very well written and hooked me from the start. But around the 40% mark I started to think we still had a looooong way to go. I skimmed my way through the last 25% and quit around 90%. I know it doesn't make sense to quit right before the end but I felt like I just read the equivalent of a marathon and nothing new was being added. There's not a lot of romance - it was heavy on the action and some people might like that just fine. I, however, would have liked more of building the h/H's relationship. Because of this I didn't really feel connected to the MC's. I really liked the h in the beginning - she's not your usual woman and some authors have trouble portraying a strong h that's not a bitch but I respected her. Props to the author on that! She is very "golden clam" though and gets more so as the story goes on.

MC is my favorite trope and I slog through a bunch of crap to find the gems. This definitely qualifies as a gem.

I also have to mention that there should be HUGE trigger warnings for sexual violence. It's not one of my triggers and usually doesn't bother me but there was so much here that I was uncomfortable.

I didn't know the work of this author and I enjoyed the reading.
The story was good and the characters were very interesting.
The heroine captivated me by her personality and the fact that she have a nice bike and work as a mechanic.
Although reluctant our hero got attracted to heroin and didn't look more to other women.
Follows the pattern of the stories about motorcycle clubs with scenes of action and danger, club whores causing problems and our heroine trying to fit in their world.
I enjoyed and recommend.

Brilliant

I loved this book I love that this women isn't scared to take on any challenges thatshe faces I love she got to meet her father and the love of her life in the same place and find a new home. This was a lot more fast paced then the first and I loved it because of that I would read it faster if I hadn't been brought down by a migraine darn thing lasted two days. But once I was gone there was no stopping me from getting into this book to see the outcome can't wait to see the other men fall for there women

If you have reader's OCD beware

I'm a huge advocate of research. If you're writing a book set in the US with American characters, have an American editor revise your work, so that it sounds like something Americans would realistically do and say. As is, it's difficult to believe and immerse myself into the setting. Another rounds of edits and a republished version of the book would definitely raise this book to a 3.5 star instead of a 2.5 star!

This is definitely a book that should only be read by those over 18, as there is profanity, extremely graphic and explicit scenes throughout, and not just of the adult variety. If you have any trigger points, or PTSD, this may be a series for you to avoid, but these books are great if you like hard hitting books that are full of emotion. They can be read individually, however, I would recommend reading them in the order in which they were written.

The book starts with Sam running out of gas on a trip to the Satan's Devils Motorcycle Club, to confront one of its members. Drummer comes across her as she is considering what to do and starts to talk to her, she explains her situation and why she is heading to the club and decides to get her some gas and escort her there.

As she enters the compound, she is watched with eager eyes as she is a woman, but not one they know of with a vintage motorcycle that elicits questions and appreciation from the bikers.
Sam then goes to Drummers office, where she confronts the member she was searching for and explains her situation to him as well. This does not go to plan and she is not believed, she is then invited to spend the night at the club, as it is late, but that she has to leave the next morning.

When she wakes up, Sam is invited for breakfast and as she is preparing to leave, she finds the bikers crowded round her bike, only to find that it had lost all its oil and broken overnight. After a heated discussion, Sam is allowed two hours to fix it before another decision has to be made. Again, this does not go to plan and so Drummer decides to allow her to stay until the bike is fixed, much to the consternation of the other member.

This is where her story truly begins, as she fixes her bike, discovers that feelings she wanted to keep hidden come to the surface, there are fights, agreements, disagreements and sex. Boundaries are tested, broken and remade throughout the story as discoveries are made and life changes for all involved.

This is the second book in the Satan's Devils series. Stranded on her vintage motorcycle without fuel, after losing her mother a few months before to cancer, 26-year-old Sam comes to the Satan's Devils outlaw Motorcycle Club (MC) to find Viper - her father. Viper makes it very clear that he wants nothing to do with Sam. But Drummer (president of the MC) doesn't want Sam to leave and offers her a job as a mechanic. Both Drummer and Sam have something that the other is drawn to; despite Sam being more interested in motorcycles and Drummer only being interested in a one-night stand. Will Drummer learn to love? Will the outlaw MC life prove too much for Sam? And will Viper reconsider his decision to get to know his daughter?

This was very exciting! Whether it was of the spicy variety or some kind of "official club business," there was always something happening. I really loved Sam; she took everything in her stride, even when she witnessed her father engaged in a sexual act in full view of all of the members of the MC! She was also very brave when the MC worked with the FBI to bring down a sex trafficking ring. And of course, I loved Drummer; he was HOT and I loved his character progression. There were some saucy scenes and some scenes that were quite difficult to read, so it was a little bit like an emotional rollercoaster. Although this book is part of a series, the story can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend that you read Turning Wheels first, as there is some character crossover.

After reading Turning Wheels, I didn't think that this would match it, but I was wrong. It was just as good, if not better! I didn't think I would ever find myself reading books about outlaw Motorcycle Clubs, but now I have been converted. There was nothing that I didn't love about this! I give Drummer's Beat 5 out of 5 stars.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves contemporary fiction, erotic novels, motorcycles and motorcycle clubs, violence, a lot of swearing, and romance.

I'm such a huge fan of Manda Mellet she has written some amazing reads Turning Wheels has to be one of my top MC reads and I was so happy to see that Drummers beat was going to be next wasn't disappointed , the characters were awesome and was really good to see how Sophie and Wraith are doing . This author really knows how to write heroines that are super wonderful , strong ,and the total opposite of a doormat , her heroes are strong faithful sexy alphas that will get your motor running and shiver in the right places . Sam was just a remarkable heroine shes so awesome knows how to be one of the guys but also be a girl and really smart . Drummer was so droll worthy I wouldn't mind being on the back of his bike . Can't wait to see who will be next the Satans devils is full of HOT bikers who will meet their match . The story kept me interested and my heart drooped a couple of times didn't when certain things happen . Another reason I love this series it's set in Arizona and I live there she has a lot of things so accurate the weather being one of the main things .

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC Book 2) by Manda Mellett

5 +++++ Stars

**Sigh**

I knew it, I just knew that reading Drum’s book was going to be an emotional ride and it didn't let me down. I've read all of The Satan’s Devils books from #6 on. I've just recently read book 1, Wraith’s story. It seems every book becomes a favorite of mine for one reason or another, but I'll say that Drummer has always throughout this series and even some beyond held a special place in my heart. I can confidently say this is my favorite of all of the Satan’s Devils I've read to date.

This one was full of everything I love about Manda’s books but had that little touch of something extra. I can feel how strong this MC is growing. The strength, the brotherhood, the loyalty, and the family. It’s all because of Drum’s leadership and it blows me away.

It was awesome to read Sam’s story, there's been many references to how she came to the MC, but getting the whole story was what I needed. I love her, and her character was written from start to finish with her future status in mind. Perfection!

Every single story is different in that the main storyline always offers something that makes me wonder how she does it, the addition of new characters, mentions of other MC characters, making me look forward to what is to come in this series.

Drummer and Sam’s book again, will always be a favorite! Dear Lord, if you have not opened the world of the Satan’s Devils, you must do so, I literally can’t imagine not having these stories in my life.

Drummer’s Beat by Manda Mellett

Drummer’s Beat is the second book from the series Satan’s Devils.

I first met Manda Mellett at a book event in Brighton (that I ran alongside with my husband) and was blown away at how many MC novels Mellett had. I was spoilt for choice. So, with the advice from Mellett I purchased Turning Wheels. I enjoyed it so much I had to get the next book… Drummer’s Beat.

*THIS REVIEW INCLUDES SPOILERS*

Sam had just lost her mother to cancer, and went looking for her father, who happened to be a brother of the Satan’s Devils MC. As she got closer to the MC compound, her precious Vincent Black Shadow decided to run out of fuel there and then. Sam wasn’t stranded for long though as the MC’s own President approached her. Being the president of The Satan’s Devils and after a huge battle with other MC’s (Turning Wheels), Drummer was sceptical of this woman’s story. But there was something about her he couldn’t quite put his finger on… yet. However, Drummer was not the only one to have taken a fancy to Sam, and now Drummer and his men must protect her at all costs.

This book has some exceptional sex scenes and swearing, therefore I recommend this book to a mature crowd.

I look forward to reading more from Mellett. 5 Stars.

Book two of Manda Mellett’s exciting ‘Satan’s Devils MC’ series is Drummer’s Beat. In this book we are introduced to the MC’s President, Drummer who has yet to find a women strong enough to be his ‘Old Lady’ until he meets Sam a fellow biker broken down at the side of the road. To make things complicated she claims to be another member, Vipers daughter. This storyline is a bit darker as it involves a sex trafficking ring and Drummer must find Sam before she’s lost to him forever. The storyline is fast paced and there are a host of amazing characters from officers, prospects and patched members of the Satan’s Devils and their Old Ladies to the club sweet butts. All the characters are well developed and have their own backstories which adds to the overall storyline. As the characters come into each book it is more enjoyable to read the series in order, however each book is a standalone story. Drummer’s Beat is full of drama, action, suspense and of course romance and plenty of steamy scenes between Drummer and Sam. The storyline does take you on an emotional rollercoaster as the characters are so well developed and described by Mellett that you feel as though they are old friends. Looking forward to book three.

Drummer’s Beat : Satan’s Devils MC #2 by Manda Mellett is a wonderfully written Book that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I’ve said it several times already but I love MC I mean what’s not to love about motorcycle clubs? This is Drummer and Sam’s story. He’s the President of the Satan’s Devil’s and can have any and all the women he wants. Until he meets her on the road to the compound .She’s standing next to a Vincent Black Shadow. Sam she’s claiming to be Viper’s daughter. But Drummer doesn’t believe her. She finds trouble comes in many forms. When her past seems to have followed her she needs the MC protection . Drummer has a problem he wants her but she’s off limits if she’s really who she says she is .Will he go against the rules to get what they both want? Can these two have a future together? I must say this one took quite the emotional toll on me they were all over the place I say this with every one of her books but this one is definitely my favorite. I can’t recommend this Author or this book Book enough. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for more

As the president of the Satan’s Devils, he could have any woman of his choosing and he normally does, he gets the variety.
Then he meets the one, on the road to his compound, standing beside a Vincent Black Shadow, one of the most iconic bikes of all times. He think she’s lying she she tells him she’s Viper’s daughter…… and if she IS who she say’s she is, he cannot do anything about it. He cannot go against a brother.

Sam has found that trouble comes in many forms, and now the president of the MC wants him to go. But that past has come to find him, the past that has followed him and now he needs the gang to help keep him safe.
She has never been the particular girl that has been really interested in finding a man, but in Drummer, she has found something different. Yet denying the attraction to him will be the biggest battle of it all……

Really starting to enjoy the series and the connection of these two characters, Sam and Drummer are perfect. The story keeps you guessing throughout, and it is a truly well developed plot.

I loved this book. This is part of the Satan's Devils MC series and can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series. This is a well developed story that I was pulled in right from the beginning. I had no issues connecting with the characters. This is a story about Drummer and Sam. He can have any girl he wants. He meets Sam and now he has a problem, he can't have her because of who she is. Sam doesn't really have an interest in finding a man until she meets him. They are both instantly attracted to each other but their relaationship is a no, no. Will they go against rules and find their happy ever after? They are really great characters that brought the story to life for me and kept me turning pages. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Drummer’s Beat:
By Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars

This is a wonderful second book in the series. It is the story of Drummer and Sam. Sam is a woman who is strong, independent, and looking for her father who she says is part of the Satan’s Devils club. Drummer is the president of the Satan’s Devils and finds himself trying to deny his attraction to Sam. Sam has been taken by a sex trafficking ring. Drummer will do anything to find her. What does the future hold for Drummer and Sam? Will Drummer find Sam? Read this book to find out. I loved the characters of Drummer and Sam. I found myself caring about what happens to them with each chapter that I read. This story is suspenseful, and it finds the club facing danger. The book also has some steamy romantic scenes as well. Awesome second story.

Manda Mellett can do no wrong when it comes to writing about MC's. She gives us wonderful characters, suspense, action, romance and the best ride of our lives. This book is the second in the series and continues on from the first so I suggest you read them all in order.

Drummer is the boss, he is the head of the MC and he will always do what is best for his club, his family and anyone that is under their protection. However he doesn't need a woman, the club has enough of those to meet his needs. But everything is about to change when he comes across a woman stranded and with a tale that no one believes.

Sam is looking for her past, the one person who can give her the answers she desires, or so she thought.

You can never go wrong with Manda and the Satan's Devils

Drummer's Beat was an awesome story! I think I love Drummer even more than Wraith!! The plot was engaging, and I was drawn in from the beginning.

The characters and their relationships were well developed and believable. Sam was the type of heroine I really enjoy, strong and brave. I felt the chemistry between Drummer and Sam and I loved how their relationship grew throughout. Even though Drummer would keep saying he wasn’t a man who wanted one woman for life, you knew that Sam was slowly changing his mind.

Drummer's Beat was steamy, romantic and action packed. It was fun returning to the world of the Satan's Devils MC and I can't wait to read more of the brothers' stories!

Drummer’s Beat
By Manda Mellett

The second book in this series and it definitely did not disappoint! Drummer and Sam’s story is probably one of my favourites by this author! I was swept up in it straight away and I was really disappointed when it finished! I love the family feel of these MC stories – they are so important to each other and the bond they have is great! They really do protect each other and when you become a lady of an MC Brother you know you are theirs for life! Sam and Drummer may have had their troubles being together but in my opinion they were the perfect match!!

Still a great read….

This is my third re-read oh Ms Mellett’s Fabulous series with Satan’s Devils…..and this time because I couldn’t resist the Audiobook and listen alongside.
I have all of Manda Mellett’s books on my e-reader, however as I’d bought those available in ‘sets’ I didn’t get to review!
I can really recommend these books and as suggested previously, reading them in order is a far more enjoyable exercise.
The characters are all fully rounded, their interactions very neatly converging and quite a few unseen twists in the plotting keep toes ‘en pointe’ !
Sincerely, Absolutely and thoroughly, recommended. 10/10 ❤️

1. I don’t like MC books where all women are “b!tches”, “$luts” or “wh0res”.
2. I don't mind an H that's rough around the edges but I can't get behind a romantic "hero" who thinks of all women like interchangeable wh0res who are only good for a hole to stick his dick into.
3. The $ex scenes in this book were cringeworthy. Referring to breasts as “orbs” and “teats”?? And then, there’s this … “It triggers the cum to rise. I can feel it starting as a tingling in my spine, initiating a boiling in my balls that causes an eruption shooting up through my dick and into her sweet, oh so sweet depths.” 🤮🤮🤮

-Really good - again! I just wonder how someone is so talented, that she can write so naturally. No clumsy discussions, no embarrassing plot twists, all good language. It’s so easy just read and take a deep dive into the world created by this author. Thanks again.
Onneksi on jatko-osia...

Drummer’s Beat by Manda Mellett a five-star read that will set your heart a beating. This is number two in the Satan’s Devils MC Books and they are all excellent reads. This time its Drummers turn to become the person we know he can be he just needs a little extra help along the way. Sam is a strong woman and I love that this author writes women that you would love in your life. MC stories are usually all about the men, but this author has a way of making everyone equal, this is a great series and I am loving every minute.

Drummer & Sam

I actually loved this book, the storyline is great and the characters are wonderful. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the author is from England and is writing about an MC in the United States, but all the characters talk in English slang instead of USA slang. I totally get the few English characters talking that way, but when Americans do it, it sorta brings you out of the story. Also all the words are spelt with England English spellings instead of American English spellings.

Well the was completely unexpected!!! Who would have thought that a woman can bring the MC president to his knees, (in a good way)
This book was unlike any other MC book I've ever read (listened to)
First of the FMC is amazing!!! She is strong willed, independent and just plain badass but she also has her vulnerable side. Then there's Drummer!! Yummmm if you look up alpha male in ther dictionary you'll find a picture of him. Until.... a broken down bike brings HER into his life.
The book has tension, action and A LOT of steamy scenes. An Absolute Must Read
