"Reaching Hope" follows the journey of a broken mother of two teenager girls, Isabel Navarro, who tries her best to fight her addiction to drugs.
When the two most precious creatures she cherishes are kidnapped by the ones she swears to loathe, she realizes it is time to change and this one for good. There, Isabel begins a journey of battle and sacrifice to find and protect her daughters at all cost, in the hope of giving them a better life, despite her constant guilt. Reaching Hope is full of touching and heartbreaking moments. It makes you realize that no matter what you've been through, nothing is doomed and that with good help and good will you can see the last of it.
Where there's life, there's hope.

I was given an Advanced Readers Copy so I could share my review. This is by far one of the best books I've read that has Suspense, Romance, Real Life Issues that are happening while I'm giving this my review. In the end Good always has a way of winning, even though it may not be what we wanted. I think this book has the potential to be an award winner for Author Eva Winters! I didn't stop reading once I received my copy!!!

I was given an ARC of this book and did not read part 1.
This story takes you on the slow fall and the awesome rise of Isabel Navarro. Isabel was trying to live her happily ever after but the one person who brought her joy was taken form her. On her own trying to raise her two precious daughters - Ana and Vanessa - it is a struggle but she is maintaining. She is let down by her life long best friend and really doesn't know who to turn to for support. She ends up turning to the girls she works with and begins to use pot as a relaxer.
When she meets a man she thinks might be a good guy he ultimately tricks her into using heroin. As she spirals out of control, doing everything for her high she realizes she needs to get clean for her girls. When the unthinkable happens and her girls are kidnapped by the man she loathes she must stop her pity party and do what needs to be done to find and get her girls back.
This is a story that will tug at your heart strings and why you may judge Isabel your heart will break for her as well. She truly changed her life around and it shows what having a good support system and people who believe in you can do to help you.
As a mother she made the ultimate selfless sacrifice and my heart broke when she decided to do it. I was glad she may have found a HEA for herself in the end.

This book has left me with a pretty big emotional hangover now that the story is over. I look at the bright sunlight outside my windows and I feel this disconnect from my real life because it doesn't match with what I just read. After finishing this book, my tears are still very close to the surface and it won't take much to have me bawling like a baby again - writing this review has almost done me in already. The story starts very dark and goes to places even darker before reaching the end of the book. But the ending shows us a silver lining: as long as we're still breathing there's still a chance. This book isn't quite as violent as the other two in the series that I've read. It doesn't need to be, because the emotions it calls up are so tumultuous. As the child of an addict, I deeply appreciate the care and accuracy that's gone into this book to portray Isabel's journey towards recovery. The challenges, pitfalls, and victories are familiar to me which maybe pulled me deeper into the story than was intentional. I could feel their pain and cry their tears.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

Review

This was a very hard book to read because it was so full of suffering. A woman loses her husband, then falls into despair leading to drugs and degradation. Then to top it off her children get kidnapped into the trafficking trade. How does anyone survive that? This is a really moving story that every woman should read. This could happen to any of us if we haven't got good support and the strength to get through loss when it triggers depression and insurmountable problems. This amazing woman pulled herself back from the brink, and though this is just a story I am sure it mirrors the truth for many women who have gone through similar situations. I am thinking that so many women and probably men as well are currently going through the same anguish right now. I hope they can get help to recover.

Reaching Hope is my first book by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't put it down until the end and it left me with a 5-star read hangover. This is a gripping, beautifully written suspense filled story that left me emotionally drained but so worth it. This book excited me because it was different than any other book I've read and at times it had me holding my breath wondering what would happen next. Isabel Navarro's story is heartbreakingly real and I could feel her emotions coming off the pages. I am definitely getting the rest of the books in the Border Crime Series and I highly recommend everyone gets this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A great addition to the series and so perfectly titled. Reaching Hope gives us the events between Escaping Trouble and Saving Zoe. Eva Winters tackles the terrible world of drug abuse and sex trafficking in this series, so expect triggers. Isabel's journey is absolutely heartbreaking at times and this author's talent for story-telling and drawing a reader in kept me riveted. This is the story of one woman's journey through love, loss, addiction, bravery, making a sacrifice that no mother should ever have to make, and finding that glimmer of hope through the darkness. I highly recommend this whole series.

Eva Winters again wrote a great story.
The events in Isabel's life were not easy, and after reading everything she faced, it's no wonder she resorted to drugs to escape this difficult reality.
But when her daughters' lives are threatened, she realizes that the time has come to seek help to quit addiction and improve in order to help them.
It's a very well written story. This story leaves us with hope that things can improve if you strive.
I highly recommend the reading.

WOW! Eva did a phenomenal job with this book. Characters were so well written that the intenseness each endured rivets still within me. Book captured & shook something deep within me from the beginning & took me on a seemingly endless journey of darkness, hope, dispair, sacrifice & love as well as many other emotions. This is a MUST READ to appreciate the soul wrenching sacrifices parents endure. I voluntarily read this ARC & this is my honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book, which was well presented by the Author, it is a journey of a mother lover, through her own personal trauma and that impact her lifestyle has on her children. It is a hard hitting book about, love, loss, desperation, drug abuse and recovery, In my opinion it is to graphic for the younger audience - despite there being some good warning, of how easy a persons life can change within - therefore adult only

**I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
I have mixed feelings about this book. The story was intense. heart wrenching, and certainly sobering. But, I felt at times, the story became convoluted and challenging to follow. Maybe like a drug addled mind?!!? Interesting story and it certainly has driven me to pick up the other 2 books in the series.

An absolutely lovely book. it takes you on an emotional roller coaster. You want to shake Isabel, then comes the disgust and anger, then you feel sorry for her, and then end up rooting for her. It is Isabel's story of growing up, of maturing, taking responsibility, and then making the ultimate sacrifice of doing what is best for her daughters. An absolute must read!!

Great realistic story.

Nice truthful story of what goes on in t the real world for too many dealing with difficult times and the results of bad decisions. Drugs never solve things but just makes them worse but if determined to make life better it's possible.

I loved this book. It was really hard to put down. I'm not a big fan of books that go back and forth in time but this was necessary for the storyline. I was very impressed with the writing of this and how the story portrayed a mother during her drug addiction, overcoming it, her daughters being kidnapped and led into human trafficking, becoming a counsellor to help others like her and giving up her daughters for their happiness.

I would have loved the book to be longer as I wanted more, although I don't normally read storylines like this I'm definitely going to read the other connected stories. Thank the Eva for a well written and enlightening book.

Isabel Navarro is a single mom. She lost her husband in the line of duty, he was a cop. After his death she started smoking pot, it enabled her to forget for a time all of her sorrow and pain. She was dating a bit, and currently with a man named Jake. Not happy in this relationship she was trying to break away from it. One night he was suppose to get pot to smoke, he did but laced it with something else. At that point Isabel was hooked.

From then on she was hooked into a life of using drugs. Drugs became her number one passion over everything else, even her children. One day the bottom fell out of everything. She woke up in the hospital, handcuffed to the bed, her girls were missing. Isabel was at the bottom, she had choices to make. She could clean up her act and try to get her girls back, or continue down this sad and awful road and probably never see her girls again and maybe go to jail.

Isabel makes the decision to clean up her act. She finds the road to recovery very hard and dark. She is not sure who she can really trust, or if it will all be worth it if she can't get her girls back. She fights the demons and continues on. Will she succeed with her goal? Will she get her girls back? This book is about Isabel's fight to leave addiction behind.

This book is full of emotion. It tears at your heart, it makes you angry, you will also be routing for Isabel to succeed. Eva Winters did a wonderful job portraying this woman's journey through addiction and recovery. Isabel also learned about becoming selfless and growing as a person and mom. I absolutely loved this book about Isabel's journey in Reaching Hope. I highly recommend it.

I had such a difficult time getting anything accomplished while reading this book. It continued to call for me every time I put it down. The real life situations, the emotion, the characters, the feels this story gave out were incredible. If you are able to read this (it does have a warning for triggers) I would highly recommended reading! I am looking g forward to reading more of Eva Winters' work She has an amazing way of writing.

I was provided an Advance Reader’s Copy of this, and offer an honest, straightforward review. This book dealt with an extremely harsh and difficult topic, but I believe Ms Winter more than adequately handled it with grace and incredible empathy, without pandering to any political or stigmatic nonsense. She kept on point with developing the characters, laying out the timeline and facts that lead Isabel to the present and how she dealt with the tragedy and inappropriate decisions she’d made in her past. The characterization and some of the dialogue was superb in getting to really know her characters. It’s always important to a reader to understand why characters do and say what they do. Although someone in a similar situation may not have had the incredible HEA experienced by Isabel, Ms Winters laid out an incredible support system for Isabel that many suffering from similar situations would not be so fortunate to have. I have no idea how factual the “undercover sting” operation at The Warehouse is played out, but to me it seemed pretty much like I would think. Isabel’s fear is clear to sense, and her incredible courage is evident as well. Overall, I stand firm my 5-star rating and hope to read more by this wonderful author.

This review is for all 3 books in the Border Crime Series. Very well written. Gosh I couldn’t put down the books. It read like episodes of CSI. This is a human & sex traffic mess and all the people got involved in this lives changed forever. This is also part of our daily reality, which many people go through. It was brought to us in a great way. No one got on the other side unchanged…. Keeps u to the edge of your seat with nail biting stressful moments but with the tender romance still intact. If you did not read this books yet. You should get them soon. Take the journey wit Isabel. Awesome work.
