Absolutely loved The Watchers... This bundle is made up of six stories each one is a little different but they all flow together to make a great story. The Watchers are 5 men who were all military in the same unit but got out after losing one of their own, the last story will pull everything together and reveal their "guardian angel". Each story is about these alpha men finding love, their love interests are all sassy, strong and beautiful. So if you love good romance stories with strong male and female characters then pick up a copy of The Watchers. Happy Reading!!!📚
A series of 6 novels about a group of ex-army buddies who set up a private security firm. Rather potty mouthed and explicit in terminology, with some sexual fetishes explored, take note if you are cautious, but still fun stories about how each of the guys involved finds his ‘true love’. And the gals – despite being married to somewhat, apparently, controlling guys, find a way to manage their husbands so that they have enough independence. Running through the stories - which involve each gal having a threat to be overcome – is that of the Watcher – a story of someone watching over all the guys but who is also using them as bait for an old enemy, in the meantime saving the guys and gals from various threats. He works for a mysterious agency we don’t learn about until the very end when the web of conspiracies is unveiled.
The Watcher's is written from the character's POV often directly to the reader. It took me the first two stories to really understand and then appreciate this as even the writing style would mimic the character's personality. That's why I say starting this series bundle with Storm's story was a huge risk...why? Because it is pretty crass and raw and like I said it was halfway through book 2 I realized that was because the two story #1 characters were crass themselves. It was one bad cliche after another - 'fry ovary eggs on him, he's so hot' and the obsession with 'farting' turned me off - once or twice as a reality point is one thing but constantly referencing was overshare and TMI. Thankfully Jericho's story switched the POV to sweet as Cleo, the book #2 love interest, was sheltered and sweet but the remaining fell back into raw and raunchy to varying degrees. The main overarching plot line finally seemed to speed up during Blaze's story but his book ending left the reader hanging confused by one fingernail. This was made worse as it was barely picked up in King's story and that 'awards ceremony' thread was never developed and adequately explained. By this point in the bundle, the main plot line became almost an afterthought to the erotica - which definitely was sizzling. However, plot activities and actions were glossed over making the story line very very confusing and the concluding plot explanation nonsensical. I still gave it three stars because I liked the humor and the author's ability to allow each character's personality to shine through her POV writing....and yes, it's off the charts hot and steamy.
All six stories were fun to read but the problem is they all start to seem like the same characters or their reactions are the same especially when you read them all the same time. There were quite a bit profanity and it all seem to center around sex. They fall in love too fast. Couple story lines seem to unrealistic in terms of the reaction of the characters after learning of betrayal. At times it was hard to follow that I had to re-read a paragraph. There were some spelling errors. Overall it was a fun read but not the best.
Run don't walk you need this book seriously you do
I mean it everyone should read this books. I love the way this is written. I can seriously hear them all saying this shit. This men are warriors to the highest decree and these women are kick ass. They take no shut from anyone. I can totally be friends with these ladies. I have never laughed so hard or been so mad. I can honestly say I have never read a book like this. It is like the Character are actually talking to me. Love it. Seriously if your reading this thinking to yourself is this a good book the answer is yes push the one click button and enjoy you will thank me later
This is an awesome series, and the characters have the most unique and personable personalities. The individual storylines were just as important an intriguing as all the stories as an whole. The mystery guardian angel the backstabbing whore who broke storm, it all connects in the best way and I loved and laughed at every quirky statement! The author mixed bad ass action with comedy liners, and it just worked for the characters and the story. I don't think I would've enjoyed these stories individually at all. I don't like reading series at all, waiting on the next book or reading out of order or whatever. Being able to read the full series in a box set at a great price is perfect!
These six stories are all interlinked each one a red hot read in its own right, they are about a group of hot very alpha ex military guys and the fire crackers who tame them. Each story has its own issues and all the women seem to have crazy people stalking them and need protecting by their men they also have someone watching over them all becomes clear in the last tale. I particularly loved Lenny and Nicks story boy that girl was hilarious could not stop laughing. Thoroughly enjoyed this series and would highly recommend it.
I think this was my favorite box set of Ms. Weavers!! I've officially read them all and I can't wait to see what she has next. I loved the men in these books but the women were extra special!!! I swear we all need a group of friends like them. I'm also happy that at the end of the last book we got a peak at the future. That's rare but I always wonder what happened after the happy ending in well written books. I highly recommend this book and every book written by this author. You will love them all!!
A first time for me reading this author but I read the whole set of books one after the other! They are brilliant!! I laughed, cringed, wished I was a seriously crazy lady that spoke the same lingo as the lead girls cos they rock!! And the men? Idiots but amazingly human and devoted once they decided to fall! Great reads and am looking for the next set!
I'm in love with Mrs. Weaver! Her books are a mixture of comedy, romance and thriller all rolled up into an amazing story. This series has a really good plot that I just was not expecting. I also liked the fact that the way she wrote the book, I felt like the characters were taking to me instead of telling ma a story.
The premise is good but everyone is basically the same. None of the characters are original, they are mirror of each other. If I hadn't gotten this for free I would be seriously disappointed. There are some good and funny scenes but they don't make up for the sameness of the characters. If I could give this a half star I would.
It’s a little irritating the style of the writing in these books to begin with as it’s very chatty and conversational. Once is got used to it - it’s a really easy read. Nothing complex about it. 6 books about hot ex military single men who all come across sparkie hard as nails girls. Men are all linked through the series of books. Style of writing for all books is the same. Good holiday book.
All six of these books were written with so much fun, intrigue, mystery, romance, and sexy as Hell!👏👏👏👏👏👏😘😘😘😘 I would definitely recommend this series to read. I truly enjoyed reading each book.
I enjoyed these books. I liked how women were depicted as bad ass as their future other halfs. I liked the comical reads within these books. Alot of information to make you believe that the stories could be true. Very well done on this set!
I read Storm and Lenny's story. It was ok. Both characters annoyed me and I just couldn't connect with them. The writing was good though. I decided I just didn't care enough about the rest of The Watchers gang and gave up on the rest of the bundle.
Great! Different!! Entertaining!!! If you like romance with suspense this series is for you. The language is a little rough but they are very interesting characters. Highly recommended!! Enjoy!!!
I laughed so hard at these "spunky" women and their "drool worth" men. It takes a good woman to bring down a commitment phobe, and Kristina Weaver gave us 6 of them. Thank you for that.
Six strong men and six slightly crazy women. I was hooked from page one. Each story hitter than the last. The couple overcome danger, betrayal and even death death, all with the help of live and good friends.
It's raunchy, rude funny, and each book has exciting stories with an underlying link. Strong females give the alpha man's a run for their money. Found myself laughing out loud at some of their antics.
This was my first time reading this author and I enjoyed the style she used to write these stories. I loved that her love stories were "real" and involved emotions and worries we all have.
