Whoever said living in California was glamorous and easy-going lied through their fucking teeth. I guess I can blame reality TV for that pervasive B.S. Maybe it was good thing my old man banned television at home for all the years he was alive, after all. I probably would’ve been even more deluded than I was when I’d moved up here from Arkansas three months ago.
Looking back, I’m not even sure why I did it; why, of all the places I could’ve chosen to start a new life, I picked Los one of the most expensive places in the world to live. I don’t even know anyone one here. Heck, I’d never even visited the city before my move. Still, I’m determined to make it here, to make something of myself. And that means I have no time for distractions of any kind—especially guys.
But then, he comes along; the sexiest, strongest, most handsome, most intimidating, and most powerful man I’ve ever seen. He’s absolutely gorgeous, with eyes that seem to burn right through my soul and the most charming smile in existence, and his allure, his entire being, is simply magnetic. He’s impossibly beautiful and just…ugh, perfect. He’s perfect. He’s everything every woman—and possibly quite a few men—wants, including me.
What I’m not prepared for, though, is how much he wants me, too.
However, there are three problems.
He’s not a man.
I can only see him in my dreams.
And He commands an army of soul reapers.
And, apparently, that’s just the beginning…

I think this story Eme is telling would be great in ONE book. The volumes are like chapters. You literally read a chapter and have to wait for the next chapter. I finish each book in under an hour. It’s short, gives a bit of info from the previous volume, gives more confusing info, another event takes place and it ends. It has become quite irritating. I like this book and the storyline; but this will be the only story I follow because of this format. Doctors confidentiality has an interesting blurb. I won’t be reading because you have to buy every chapter....as a business it’s brilliant but for a consumer it’s a bit much. If Eme creates a story in ONE book (even two) I will be the first line. If not I’m going to have to pass.

I loved reading more of Eli and Matthiel story.. This one kept me wanting !more. Can't wait to read seven. Wonderful book...

August 14, 2017Did I mention not liking serials, I knew that this was one going in but thought I could deal with it now 6 segments/ volumes in and I have to wait for 7 because its a cliff hanger and shit has hit the fan in a way that has to be dealt with. Answers have to be found for all the drama that has unfolded but it seems like instead of answers we just get more drama and questions. So now i get to wait and wonder when part 7 will be out and what chaos will arrive within its pages.
