If you’re a Jack Reacher fan you’ll enjoy this futuristic look at at a clone of Reacher. Three books together here with a great cast, great story line and loads of action. Very fun and had to put down.
Love Reacher. But imagine having 2 more Reachers, twins. Raised in an orphanage, unaware of each other, they meet when Reacher 3's truck go into the river. Reacher 2 dives in to save him, but finds that he had been stabbed. Surprise, they have the same finger prints, the same DNA. Cloned by the army, only to become a liability that has to be eliminated, at any cost.
it was a decent box set and filled my weekend and while I enjoyed the books, stories and some of the characters they just fell a little flat in parts to me.
If you like the Jack Reacher series, you'll like the Reacher Experiment books 1-3. I could hardly put it down! On his way to an appointment in New Orleans, Rock Wahlman's truck breaks down near Slidell, Louisiana, in the wee hours of the morning. As he is hiking into town for help, he is almost run over by an out of control semi-truck that crashes into a bridge abutment. Wahlman rushes to aid the driver who is stuck inside the cab, underwater. He manages to free the man, drag him to shore, and start CPR, before passing out from exhaustion. But prior to passing out, he notices the driver, who had been stabbed or shot, looks enough like him to be his twin. Thus begins this fast paced mystery thriller series! Under suspicion of murdering the driver, the New Orleans Police take Wahlman fingerprints and a DNA samples. He is told by the detective in charge of the investigation that he and the dead man, a total stranger, have almost identical fingerprints, and their DNA is exactly the same as a third man, Jack Reacher, who lived over a hundred years before.! When someone tries go buy kill him while he is waiting for the lawyer he was supposed to meet, his "spider sense" kicks in and the chase is on! Targeted by unknown assassins, Wahlman is forced to live off the grid, moving from one place to another, much like Jack Reacher before him, while he tries to discover who wants him dead, and why. With Lee Child's permission, Jude Hardin has taken the Jack Reacher legacy in a totally new direction. If you are a Jack Reacher fan, I can highly recommend this book!.
Imagine yourself as an orphan, no living relatives, and then out of nowhere, you come face to face with someone who is your twin, an identical twin! What would go through your mind? What would you do to find out what or who's behind this unexpected encounter? Rock Wahlman is about to try and find out everything, including details about JACK REACHER, the man who was his father over a hundred years ago. Assuming that he isn't killed before then. Someone is going to great lengths to prevent that information to see the light of day. Can't wait to see where Rock ends up next.
Certainly this was a good idea, especially in retrospect now that Lee Child has handed off Reacher to Andrew Grant. But Mr. Hardin seems to have too much fun and not enough rewrites. The style has some salt to it, but not enough flavor. The plots seem more like adaptations from a Netflix series than novelettes. But. Since we have the 20 Reacher books originally promised plus the short stories and an extra novel to boot, those who desperately need a Reacher fix could do worse than dipping into 'Rock Wahlman'. One could even hope the writing and plotting might improve with experience, but Jude Hardin does claim 9 Nicholas Colt novels to his credit, so maybe the die is cast.
I must admit that I was a bit sceptical of anyone being able to match wits with Lee Child in his outstanding Jack Reacher portrayals. Having said that, I feel that I can safely say that Jude Hardin has managed to do precisely that, for which I must thank you, Mr. Child for offering up a moment of our future to the likes of Jude Hardin. You guys are truly awesome. Sorta makes me wonder what the two of you working together might bring us!!
I really like the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child (Well, maybe not the last one.) Any way, this series isn’t bad. The general premise is interesting, but the years it is purporting to occur in are not believable. The advances in place in the world are weak. That said, I wouldn’t enjoy it at all if it was real futuristic. Nothing can be done about it now, but it would be better (IMO) if it was set in an earlier future time. I would recommend.
Lee Child lent Jack Reacher's character to this???
I don't get it. Supposedly, this series is set quite far in the future yet all the technology is what we have today. I have read several other "offshoots" of Reacher and, while none came near to the real character, at least they made sense. Having a main character who is supposedly a fourth- or fifth- grandson of Reacher doesn't. I'm done with this author.
This is a non-ending series, yet each novella in it has a quasi-semi-conclusion with a strong thread into the next. Clean editing, fast paced, and the main characters keep growing and developing. I wish I could say this series is a tight race with the original Jack Reacher, but that would be a lie. Still a great series that is well written and enjoyable.
I enjoyed reading this book. Various discrepancies. It takes place in the future. But all the tech is still from now. It does mention electric cars. Still cell phones that don't seem to be traced. Credit cards & ATM's still in use. As long as you read the book as if it is happening 5 years ago, it is very believable.
Really novel idea! Held my attention very well. Like all SF/Fantasy stories, the basic concept in the setting requires a suspension of your disbelief.s
At firsf, the novel feels like a clone of Jack Reacher, but not written by Lee Child. Once you get two or three chapters into the story, you find out that you're right. Cleverly written...a good read.
I have read Jack Reacher novels and throughly enjoyed them. This new writer , using the same methodology as the Reacher novels, is as entertaining as those original books. Although, these new books are set in 100 years from the original Jack Reacher stories were set. I don't want to give away too much of the storyline, which this first book in this series does explain, as the story unravels. If you are a Jack Reacher fan, I suggest you try this series. I believe you will be happy you have.
reacher had died 100 yrs ago they had cloned him with 2 babies. they had grown up in orphanages, not knowing about each other and thought their parents had died
he found his twin dead in a truck that almost killed him
the gov was after him to kill him so there would be no evidence
the books follow his journeys around the us while trying to escape high paid hit men
he liked a waitress and she was with him in the last book

I have always enjoyed Lee Childs "Jack Reacher" series, and Jude Hardin has done an excellent job writing these books to make you feel like you are reading a Jack Reacher book. If I didn't know better I would swear these books were written by Lee Child himself.
While I found the idea interesting,I didn't find the character convincing Jack Reacher is a one off.I have read all the stories,to date,by Lee Child, usually cover to cover, and find him inimitable.eg.the film's with Tom Cruise are almost laughable. Sorry Jude ! Keep writing action novels, BUT leave well alone !

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip Into the future with Jack Teacher's clone. Story style is very similar to Lee Child's. I wish there had been a bit more imagination with regard to what life might be like100 years in the future. Maybe in future books! Thanks for an enjoyable read☺
I loved these books and I'm now reading the other 6 books written by this author. I'm not sure that it isn't being written by Lee Child as the style is the same and the action and adventure is so very similar. These books are quick reads because you just won't put them down. Anticipate thrills. While some outcomes are predictable, don't get complacent as the twists will surprise you. Edit
I enjoyed this 3 books. The stories were about Rock and comparing himself to jack Reacher. How Rock an and jack were both in the service and were Cops. Their way of lives were same and different because their was a lot of years apart I can’t wait to read books 4-6. I love Jack Reacher.
Great read. Loved the story line and the characters. Involved me the whole book, had to read to the end. Did think many things would be very different than described in 80 years, but I think everyone thought we'd be using flying cars by now!
The Teacher Experiment Boxed Set Books 1-3. (Dead Ringer
Good action story from start to almost finish. Lots of different situations which Rock manages to get into and escape from. Would have liked to have an ending but I guess you have to continue the story
I am a Jack Reacher fan anyway. I am so glad to find a JR spinoff written so brilliantly. It was so fast moving and gripping that the bath got cold because I couldn't "put it down"! Well done - will be getting Book 4 as soon as I can afford it. Thanks Mr Hardin.
How can you go wrong reading about a relative of Jack Reacher? These stories are well worth reading. Constant action and some twists you don't see coming. I'll be getting the next in the series now. Highly recommended. Very clever idea.
This reacher experiment set of books is an interesting way to move into the future looking at the science fiction idea of human cloning. I enjoy the reacher series very much and this one with a reacher clone is not a bad start. Looking forward to some more of these.
Very good stories written in the Jack Reacher style of writing, but set 100 years in the future. The Army cloned Jack, and these stories involve two of the clones. The same adventure and excitement of the Jack Reacher books are in these three novels.
This read will keep you asking for more. This is what I will do. You cannot but it down. Makes you wish that Reacher were alive to see his clone continuing to do his work.
This guy can write. Trying to sound like Lee Child's, but not happening yet. Screams of a sequel, but read all three books. Pretty good sret of stories, worth your time and money.
