This issue again takes us to snowy landscapes. Filled with action from the beginning as it begins in media res. Not the best story or issue in this spin off, but decent. Great art compensates. Entire spin-off reminds me of adventures of Martin Mystere or documentary series on National Geographic. Better than main series Carthago (Carthago Single Issues #1-5)

And so the series comes to an end with yet another monster hunt - and this one is the most in your face and confrontational of them all - as you realise why and what the first panels signify.

This was a book I probably struggled with the most to guess where it was going and for that I think I enjoyed it them most although as I have said earlier these are prequals and as such you know who appears later and who does not.

That said this also sets up the love and focus for frozen wastes that seem to be the fall back position for many of the stories here. As how the series ended - well I guess what you would expect for a series of standalone stories - it sort of just ends and that is it. Shame really as I was really getting in to them - however I will admit I picked them up as a bundle I wonder what else there is?

I got this comic via a Humble Bundle and as I am a bit lazy when it comes to writing reviews this year, I am going to write one review for the entire series.

These comics remind me - the story, the storytelling and the artwork (the characters move a bit stiffly) - of the adventure comics I read during the seventies and eighties (Bob Morane for example). They also have a European feel: the locations, the artwork, no superheroes, and occasionally a bit of nudity.

They feel a bit dated, but as adventure comics go, I enjoyed them. The stories revolve around the Centenarian of the Carpathians and his aides, mainly London Donovan, who search/hunt the world for weird and often very dangerous creatures.

Interesting

I always thought that people are awful. Well I just got another confirmation. Well written story thought. I recommend it.
