• Michael Agliolo’s stunning first novel takes you on a journey through human history on a collision course with nuclear Armageddon. • Nine words, written in an ancient language, are found embedded deep in the pixels of a photograph taken by Photographer Matt Reese. Struck by a flash of light Matt and model Elaine Gardner experience a simultaneous near-death experience that leads them to the epicenter of a world on the brink of nuclear war. • As the past echoes to today, the power of a single photograph is all that separates humanity from World War III.
I enjoyed this story. Liked the many characters and the fast moving plot. Some of the historic connections were a stretch, but it was an enjoyable book.
This intriguing book by Michael Agliolo tells the fictional tale of how World War III will occur and how a nuclear Armageddon will happen because of it. The novel says that a photograph lost in history of an ancient language inscription is the secret behind it. It’s up to studying the photograph to help prevent this disaster from happening. With this intricate story, you’ll be taken everywhere from San Francisco, Iranian deserts, and Israel as various characters work their way to try to solve this complex problem. This book contains over 89 chapters, so at 330 pages, it might be a little bit of a long read for some. Also, there’s a little bit of language so if you aren’t comfortable with that this might not be the right book for you. However, it’s a very captivating story and Agliolo’s writing style will leave you quickly flipping through the pages to learn more.
I enjoyed this book a lot, but I’ll not review the book as others do it so much better than I. I really, really enjoyed the book, and the author is really, really talented at his writing, and I’ll be following his work going forward. (Actually, I’m reading another of his books next. And yes, Last Light was THAT GOOD). I just wish that new/young authors had access to an editor, as the errors in this book dropped by rating from a 5 to a 4, and yes there are that many misspelled words, poor punctuation and miss-used words. If the author reads this, please reach out to me, as I have an editor in my family.
Michael, keep writing like this and I’ll read EVERY ONE OF YOUR BOOKS!!!!!
This is the second book I have read by Michael Agliolo. I would not hesitate to read any book by this author. He builds suspense with every page from the beginning of the book to the very end. His characters are intriguing against the backdrop of an impending nuclear holocaust. I found myself, at times, having to get through the next chapter before I could go to bed. Therefore, the short chapters were much appreciated. It is easier to break away when needed. We follow three people through many discoveries and harrowing close calls. Above all of this is an overriding religious connection. The characters are well developed throughout. Well worth the reading time.
This book is way outside my comfort zone. I usually read YA fantasy. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. Interesting plot, good characters, hard to put down. I feel like fans of Dan Brown would enjoy this book. My only complaint is I wish there had been more dialogue between the characters and a little more developing of the characters. But, otherwise, really enjoyed the book and would read more by this author.
I am still dazed with the impact of the inexplicable experience of reading this magnificent book that combines everything that humanity needs! I have no words to write about everything I experienced and felt while reading this book!
Thank you for an astounding, incredible reading experience, Michael Agliolo!!!
This book leaves the reader hopeful of a peaceful future. The actions of the characters to see their way to the end is brave. This book has a lot of religious overtones to it, so if you are not into religion or any of the things that go with it, this book is not for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There are so many things going on in the plot it is too much to list here.
Excellent read!!! Very intriguing, makes you really think about things that are going on in our world now! Keeps you wanting to continue reading until the end without stopping! I look forward to your next book Michael!!!
Loved this book, from beginning to the ending. I was 18 when I went to the Vatican on a tour and heard Pope John Paul speak. He had only been Pope one year. His aurora was amazing, I’m not catholic but I cried. Fantastic Book.
I would recommend this book to almost everyone i know. The realism of possibilities in the concepts of this loosely Bible based fiction strikes the heart of those you can discern.
4-1/2 stars. Uplifting novel of the search for peace in a war torn world. Terrific characters and dialogue. Realistic and believable. Very well written.
