First Impressions
Ecstasy Untamed was a interesting story and not what I expected. There are some authors I just trust to deliver completely and this is one of those authors, that is how much I trust her. However, having said that, I didn't do any research on this book nor did I expect this to have a bit a love triangle type of conflict. Now its not a straight up love triangle but the first 35% or so you aren't sure what is actually happening there. So I found it quite interesting since this dynamic and the way the conflict was introduced was very different for a paranormal romance.

First Line
White-hot rage glowed, burning away his mind until only banked coals remained, coals ready to erupt into flame at the slightest stir of thought, of consciousness.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Hawke
The Heroine: Faith

Summary
Faith is living in eastern europe, making an effort to help young girls that are being forced to be sex workers and trying to inspire them to make more positive change in their lives. When a mysterious man comes to her on the streets and she feels a connection to him and he claims her to be his mate, having been part of the people and have lived for centuries, she knows how important the Feral Warriors are against the evils in their worlds, as they are like royalty for their people. She knows she can't resist a mating bond. When she arrives though to the home of the Feral Warriors, she starts to have doubts about the mating bond and she has a connection to one of the other Feral Warriors, a warrior is at odds with his spirit animal. But she has a bond with another and she is feeling torn about which man she should go with ....but when she learns the truth .....her heart will answer the call on her path moving forward....

What I Loved
I really loved the complexicity of the relationship that is shown here. Even though I am not a big fan of the three way conflict....what I did love was seeing the angst emotional moments between these characters. I really had to read the blurb at first because I was confused on who the real hero would actually be. To be honest you don't really know until they arrive at the Feral Warriors home. I really loved the connection between Faith and Hawke. Its a very insta love in that respect, but with each chapter we see that chemistry just build between them. I really enjoyed both of these characters. I felt so heartbroken for Faith and what she has to go through in this book. I am also relieved that some things she didn't keep a secret for too long, that she does come out with the truth on it. And the way the truths are all revealed, I actually really liked. There was such a intensity to this book that kept me on the edge of my seat and where I didn't want to put this one down.

What I truly loved was the alpha vibes in this book, the edgy thrills of the paranormal world that this author created and how fascinated I was into this world again and how much I have missed so many of these characters.

What I Struggled With
I wasn't a fan of the love triangle type of aspect, it definitely was a turn off for me especially since I wasn't aware of it going in (and yes thats my own fault lol) but it still affected my overall enjoyment of this story and what kept it from being a five star read.

Narration
It was wonderful.....I think this is the first time I have done a audio for this series and it definitely won't be the last as I work my way through this series.

Overall View
Ecstasy Untamed was a intense filled story that kept me hooked all the way through, it had a plot that kept adding thrills and edges to it that will fascinate the reader and only want more from....

Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.

I’m still in total shock from this book. I loved Hawke and Faith. Their characters were incredible individuals who made the most fantastic couple. Their story rocked and drew my complete and undivided attention from the first few pages. There is just so little I can tell due to spoilers. This book is full of so many shockers. I had to pick my jaw off the floor so many times. This is one of the best books that I have read all year! I loved how the couple came together. Faith walks into Feral House on the arm of their newest Feral Warrior. The attraction between Hawke and Faith is intense and instantaneous. They both acknowledge the feelings but due to her impending mating with Maxim, Hawke and Faith try to keep their distance with each other. Their attraction and connection is just too much, they can’t stay away from each other. Once they finally give in and accept that they just need to go with the feelings they have towards each other… SCORCHING! They are so perfectly matched for each other in so many ways.

The warriors are still fighting the evil Mage that are trying to release the Daemons. In this installment in the Feral Warrior series they warriors have to face that battle on a different front. The Mage have created an entirely new and very shocking force for the warriors to deal with. I was completely taken by surprise. This adds nonstop page turning action to this book. The readers are still given plenty of page time from the previous books couples. Feral House now has an abundant supply of females. It was nice to see that they are bonding with each other as girlfriends and confidants should, without their men, a bottle of wine and some tasty treats. As with most series I can say that you must read the previous books before this one. It would be very confusing otherwise. Although there was some rehashing on key events from Hunger Untamed, they are disguised as filling in the events that Hawke and Tighe missed during their week trapped in the Spirit Trap.

I am seriously wrestling back and forth over giving this five stars or four. I think I'm going to stay at four because if you have not read books 1 and 5 in the Feral series, you will not love Ecstasy Untamed as much as I do in this moment.

I don't think I can articulate properly why I love this book. The phrase that keeps springing to mind is "it was a culmination," which really doesn't make any sense. Let me ponder on a suitable analogy for a moment.

...

Okay, this is the best I've got. It's like Girl Scout cookies. Like, the majority of the year, you're like Girl Scout cookies, whatever, Keebler's tastes just as good, and then you order a box because your co-worker is nagging you, and then you kinda forget about it because there's that delay in between, and then the box arrives when you're cranky & PMS-ing, so you open the box, take a bite, and when the flavor hits your tongue, you're like, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED AND IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW and then you're all sad because you only ordered one box and you have to wait until next year to order more.

...

Now I want Tagalongs.

Anyway.

Pamela Palmer is not one of those authors I think about very often and I've found her books to be a bit hit or miss. I still read 'em because shifter romances are my crack and so when this e-ARC became available, I snapped it up. I think that was, like, over a month ago. The heroine, Faith? Awesome. The hero, Hawke? Awesome. Cameos of pretty much every supporting character we've ever met? Awesome. Massive overall series plot arc advancement while tying up loose ends? Awesome . If you like the Feral series, you will love this book. I'm not quite at the point where I think the average paranormal reader should make their way through the first five books to get to this point, but if book seven is as wonderful as book six, I will be.

I first started this review giving only 4 stars. BUT I hade to bump it up to a 5 ONLY because of one factor... I will explain further down.

Faith is a Therian woman over 100 years old who has lived in Europe her whole life. She lives among young human girls working on the streets helping them get off and better thei lives.

As she is walking home one night the new Feral warrior Maxim sees her. They are drawn to each other & he claims her as his mate. She feels the pull & agrees and they immediately leave for the Feral house in the US.

Maxim believes he is aboe all in class & is very rude at the Feral house embarrassing Faith. Faith has met Hawke & is drawn to him with feeling & not just a pull. They try to avoid each other because she is Maxims mate.

Maxim is supposed to be the Fox shifter, but now who knows because come to find out 17 souls were released from a worm hole vortex where the souls of these animals have been held for 100's of years. AND something isn't right about some of them.

Maxim is truly evil, and you find AFTER the first 3 boring chapters & at that moment, the book takes off! Give it time. It's a 4 star book for me, but because page 124 freaked me out so bad, I had to give it a 5 star rating. I got chills & I never expected that one. VERY DARK!

Faith is a happy & sweet fun girl with blue tipped hair & she feels she has to be with Maxim because she is supposed to be his mate.

Faith is the only one who can calm Hawke & So many things are happening because the release of the 17.... I could go on and on.

I put the spoiler in, because I wished I had been given that info. msel. It took me 3 days to get through the first 3 chapters because I was bored with the push over heroine. I could have just forced my way through to the good parts, knowing they were coming, but I wasn't looking forward to almost 400 pages of this... It got WAAAAY better!

I also have to admit that there is a ton of recap if you just start with this book. You won't feel lost. Since I have read them all close together & heard it all before, I did skip those parts. Didn't hurt at all!

This book is very difficult to review because so much happens and in order to talk about those things it involves major spoilers. The book was action packed and very good. I had a hard time sitting at work and not being able to finish it. What I can talk about without spoiling things is a new Feral has been marked and his name is Maxim; Faith comes to Feral House with Maxim because he is possibly her mate. Once they get to Feral House all hell breaks loose, Hawke and Faith connect immediately even though they shouldn't and one shocking thing after another happens. There is still war going on with the Mage who are trying to release Satanan but where the villain's in this series have been bad in the past, stuff in this book is seriously twisted evil.

I love this series and personally think this is the best book in it which surprises me because Hawke wasn't my favorite of the boys. I loved Faith, she is such a kind-hearted person and you'll root for her from the beginning. Though I've never been a fan of shape-shifting birds I really liked Hawke. He was always the calm, studious, reserved Feral and in this book you see him in a different light. He's been through a lot and now he's damaged and trying to put it all back together. He's got that dangerous vibe that all the boys have but he is really, really smart and loves to read; because of that and his extensive library I fell head-over-heels for a bird. Never thought that would happen in a million years.

There was so much going on involving Hawke and Faith that very little time was spent from another character's POV. Don't worry though, you will get your fill of the other boys as they are there in the background. I'm hoping that the one character who did get some alone time in this book is featured in the next because his story has been building the past two books and I really want him to be loved.

If you are a fan of the Feral Warriors this book will not disappoint. It had me hooked from the first page and the ending left me dying to know what happens next.

I totally loved this book. I was really surprised to see such a split in the natures of these wonderful feral warriors. The twists and turns were fun, inspired, and never ending. I look forward to more books in the series (especially since the ending was a total cliffhanger).

Hawke and Faith's story was raked with pain, despair, and finally ultimate fulfillment and never-ending love pulling through in the end. I am so happy with the way this book progressed, especially since i thought it might drag after reading the first two chapters. Boy was i wrong.

4.5 stars for sure. And i hope the next book comes quickly!

TLDR recap:
Slowly and painfully losing his connection to his animal since his imprisonment in the mage spirit trap, Hawke is head over wings for the new Feral's mate-to-be.  He'd never betray a brother like that, but newcomer Maxim is testing everyone's patience, including his intended - Faith.  Faith is a Therian nomad, moving from city to city every few years, helping get human women off the streets and into stable, promising situations by pretending to be one of them.  While Faith feels a compulsion toward Maxim, she also feels a strong connection to Hawke, and life at Feral House is about to get very interesting.  Ecstasy Untamed is a GraveTells recommended read!

Title: Ecstasy Untamed
Series: The Feral Warriors series - book #6
Author: Pamela Palmer
Prominent Characters: Hawke, Faith, Maxim
Recommended reader age: 17+
Sexual content level: Moderate

Thoughts:
If you've ever caught yourself wondering "Do the non-feline shifters have fangs and claws when they go feral?" or "How do they decide what to name new shifters?" or "Will Vhyper ever recover enough to rejoin the ranks of the Ferals?" or "Will we ever see The Seventeen again?" or "Can women be shifters?" or "Just HOW MUCH of his body can a Feral lose and still regrow?", you need to read this book.  I'm not going to spoil it for you and give you any of the answers, but I will tell you this: all that and more is finally answered in Ecstasy Untamed!

Something I find really impressive about this series is how Ms. Palmer seems to effortlessly create a completely different hero and heroine for each story.  It wouldn't be surprising if all the men were virtual carbon copies of each other, having only different animal spirits and abilities to set them apart, but they are as unique as the animals they embody.  And the women!  Oh the women are such a pleasure to read about!  This is the sixth book in the series, so there are now six distinctly different female personalities (seven if you count Pink, but she's not really that fleshed out... no pun intended).  Faith could easily come off as a boring self-sacrificing volunteer worker who swoons for her new man, but she doesn't.  Faith has real innate strength and drive, and her own deep-seated insecurities, hidden under that 1,000 watt smile.

The Ferals are hot.  They always have been and, Ms. Palmer willing, they will continue to be.  Hawke is a bird shifter (the Ferals' only flying form) and has always been respectable, intelligent, and loyal.  In previous books, I don't remember thinking "man, I really wanna read Hawke's story!" (I most definitely thought that about Jag! Oh how I <3 Jag!!) because, while he was always prominent in the action and a friendly, attractive member of the team, he never stood out for me.  Hawke really took on new life in this book and came into his own.  Not only is he yummy, smexy goodness, he's got a brain and he's not afraid to use it.  We see why he's possibly the luckiest of the Ferals with his ability to fly, and get insight into how the Feral-Spirit shifter bond works.

One of the hallmarks of this series is its cliffhanger endings.  Ms. Palmer always wraps up the main romance plot and then leaves us with something shocking to worry about for the next 6-12 months.  Well Ecstasy Untamed is no different, so if that bothers you, "brace yourself, Effie!"  If you DO enjoy the anticipating and the waiting, you won't be disappointed with this ending!  One thing to note: if you have NOT read the rest of this series and don't want to see major spoilers for it, start with Desire Untamed (Feral Warriors book #1) and work your way up from there.  =)

Memorable quotes:
One must always be prepared when meeting the rockstars of the immortal world...
"The Chief?"  The words were out before she could stop them.  She wrinkled her nose.  "Sorry, I'm afraid I'm a little starstruck.  I wish I had an autograph book."

Blasting stereotypes since 2009...
Faith had always imagined the Radiant to be a queen among immortals, reserved, royal.  Kara stood in bare feet, a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt that read Team Jacob across the profile of a howling wolf.  And called herself a power plug.

Is a woman truly ever "too old" to appreciate good man-candy?
Olivia sighed.  "I'm afraid you're probably right, Faith, as much as I hate to admit it.  Half the women on the planet would lust for our Feral Warriors if they got anywhere near them.  The other half are too young, too old, or into other women."

I was thinking "stronger", but this works too!
"What doesn't kill you makes you obsessed."

On pain and priorities...
"There's nothing in this world more painful than regrowing a penis," Kougar said quietly.

"It better come back good as new, that's all I'm saying."

It's good to have you back, Jag...
"Hey."  Jag shrugged.  "Someone has to cause the trouble.  This place is going to get dull with me all happy and sh!t."

Finally, someone with a comeback!
Jag snorted.  "I'm not missing this show.  Just wait til you see what she can do, Foxy."

Fox cut Jag an amused look.  "Looking forward to it, Jaggy."

If you liked Ecstasy Untamed of the Feral Warriors series...
If you liked Ecstasy Untamed and the rest of Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series (starting with Desire Untamed ), you might also enjoy Lord of Rage by Jill Monroe (book #2 in the Royal House of Shadows series).  Like the Ferals, Osbourne is large-and-in-charge, and his honey has a fighter's spirit in that petite princess' body.

You might also enjoy Redemption (book #2 in the Lost City Shifters series) by Eleri Stone.  Adriano and Sophie have a combustible chemistry, and the setting is adventurous enough for an Indiana Jones flick.

Another great series featuring shapeshifters is The Psy/Changeling series (starting with Slave to Sensation ) by Nalini Singh.  It has jaguars, leopards, wolves, psychic humans, and the mind-numbingly scary Psy.  Hot, intense, and addicting... that's how I'd describe that series.  =)

Final thoughts:
If you were thinking that the Feral Warriors series was becoming a little too predictable and formulaic, Ecstasy Untamed will reinvigorate your love for the series.  All the things you've been wondering, all the unspoken restrictions you questioned, all the little mysteries we've been teased with throughout the last five books are finally revealed... and some of them are things you may have just taken for granted!  This book breaks all the rules and breathes new passion, danger, and intrigue back into one of paranormal romance's best series.  Ecstasy Untamed has everything you've been waiting for, and more!  If you're a fan of the Feral Warriors series, you do not want to miss Ecstasy Untamed!!

Rating: Ecstasy Untamed
A Must-Read!

Hawke, Feral Warrior and hawk shifter, is free from the daemon spirit trap but not from the damaging effects it’s caused. With the bond between him and his animal breaking it’s only a matter of time before it slips away entirely and ends Hawke’s life. When hope seems futile Faith arrives at the Feral house, accompanying a new warrior, but even though she is the intended mate of another Faith is the only one who can calm Hawke’s rages and sooth his animal. But Maxim has no intentions of ever letting Faith go and will go to twisted lengths to keep her at his side. When Maxim’s true plans are revealed will Faith and Hawke be strong enough to not only fight for their love, but their lives as well?

Wow, Ecstasy Untamed has to be one of my favorite novels in the series to-date, tying with Jag’s story! The beginning of the story started off rocky for me; it was dark, painful and I didn’t like where it was leading. But boy oh boy did it take me for a ride after that with ample shocking twists!

Following the events of Hunger Untamed, Hawke is struggling with the after-effects of the daemon trap which essentially rips the animal spirit from the man and a shifter cannot live without his animal. Always being the calmer one of the Feral warriors, it was intriguing to see a totally different side of Hawke’s character. Playing on the sidelines for most of the series Hawke definitely came front and center in his book and was fleshed out perfectly. He was often times out of control and unstable but when Faith arrives she instantly soothes him, as long as she’s near…But Faith is the intended mate of the Feral’s new fox shifter, or so they think…
Faith is a Therian who has devoted her life to helping young human women across the world. She was an admirable character and easy to like from the start. While living on her own she happens across Maxim who she is drawn to right away, there was an instant connection that she believed to be the mating bond, but in reality it is something far more sinister. Arriving at Feral house though Faith questions her initial instincts when she meets Hawke, who she has a strong attraction to from the start. Then, as she is around Maxim more and more she knows that there is something wrong there. The scenes between Maxim and Faith were incredibly heart-wrenching; Maxim is a dark and evil character that I felt dirty just reading about. However, when it came to Hawke and Faith hope was brought into the story. Their relationship brought an abundance of suspense, sexual tension and smexy scenes to Ecstasy Untamed and I really thought that they were the perfect fit, building upon each other. They’re each fantastic characters apart but together they’re incredible.

The Feral Warriors is a deep and intense series, not a light paranormal romance in the least, where every novel builds upon the complex paranormal world Pamela Palmer has created. The Mages are still at it with a new deadly plot to raise Satanan that continues into the next book. (Evil, evil author…) Though the romance was nicely tied up the ending left me craving for more and dying to find out what happens next?!?! Pamela Palmer expands on the Feral Warrior history though, answering a lot of questions readers might have had. The story also includes plenty of past characters and humorous scenes with them, I just love how every character in the series is distinct. This is a series that should be read in order though otherwise you will no doubt be lost.

Another fantastic edition to a great series, I can’t wait to see what Pamela Palmer has planned for the Ferals next!

I loved, loved, loved this book. I read it in less than twelve hours. I had been looking forward to Hawke's book since I was introduced to his character in Desire Untamed. He was a quiet, mysterious man and I have a sweet spot for those quiet ones.

At the beginning of this book, Hawke was being awakened by The Nine after he was stuck in a spirit trap for two weeks. Tighe was also stuck down there too. With how long they were down there, their animals should have separated from their warrior but Tighe had his mate, Delaney, to hold to but Hawke had no one. It was a surprise that he was still in one piece. Hawke quickly figures out something is wrong between him and his hawk. He refuses to give over control to the hawk so the hawk decides to take over for hours while Hawke has no idea what happens during that time. He is afraid whenever he gets close to one of the girls in the house because at any moment, the red haze could creep in and take over which usually leads to blood being shed of some sort. This really made me feel for Hawke. While reading this I kept thinking, there is no way Pamela would write out Hawke. That would just be crazy! And then I mentally kicked myself because duh, he wouldn't have his own book.

We find Faith in Poland, staying with some cast-off girls. Most Therians despise humans, but not her. She has spent her life helping out teenage girls who were living on the streets. Faith can easily fit in because not only does she look to be a teenager herself but also has a gift of language (which comes in handy later in the book). You can tell by how Faith interacts with a couple of the girls that she has a sweet, considerate soul. I loved how she walked the line of mother/friend/protector without them really knowing. On first instinct when meeting Maxim, she had the urge to run then felt a strange pull towards him. While talking, she realized that they were meant for each other. Or at least that was what she was supposed to think. I knew Faith was strong if she could make it through all the stuff that Maxim put her through. I wanted to pummel him for hurting Faith and deceiving The Nine. I'm just glad Faith was able to get away from him and realized she was supposed to be with Hawke.

This book really kept me on my toes. It's not often a book keeps me guessing at what happens next, I guess that's what happens when you read a lot, but this one most certainly did. Pamela Palmer kept me on my toes, or should I say with my nose to my Kindle, for the whole book. I loved all the twists she put in the books that I wouldn't have thought of. The only bad thing I can say about this book is I can't wait until the next in this series comes out!

I have been very excited to get to this, Hawke's book, for quite a while now for several reasons.

Reason one: He has always been such a sweetie-pie in previous books, so respectful to the new females entering Feral House and just an all round nice guy, that I'd developed a bit of a soft spot for him already.

Reason two: I really wanted to know more about him as a warrior since he is the only one of the nine Ferals that isn't a predatory animal. I also wondered if this had anything to do with his slightly gentler nature.

And reason three: The events at the end of the last book. Hawke has only just been freed from a daemon spirit trap and escaped suffering a near severing of his bond with his hawk spirit which is causing him to experience terrible rages in complete contrast to his usual demeanour.

And let me tell you, even going in with these high expectations, I was not disappointed. You may notice the five star rating? Yeah, it was that good.

And what made it so good I don't hear you ask? Well, firstly it was the refreshing change in the personalities of the hero and heroine. Hawke is (usually) a far less aggressive male than the rest of the Ferals- he's more of a thinker, an academic, and has a cheeky boy smile that can melt your heart from a thousand paces. And Faith is a girl that doesn't expect much from life, but has a big, big heart and a desire to help people. She has been helping human street kids for years, drifting from city to city trying and saving the ones that will accept the help. She even dresses like a human teenager- blue-tipped hair, piercings and all- in an effort to win them over. I just thought both characters were refreshing and endearing and I really look forward to seeing them again in future books.

What also made this one of my favourites of the series along with book one, was the amount of new shock twists and turns that were included. There were several events in this book that will impact all future books from this point on and all of the Ferals. Of course, every single one is a spoiler so I can't say more about them, but just WOW!

There is a slight cliffhanger at the end that has me salivating for the next book. I just can't wait to find out what happens next for these sexy warriors.

Hawke is one of the last nine feral warriors. He and his brothers protect the world from the evil that would take over if allowed. He is a shape shifter that is slowly losing his animal and if that happens it will kill him. Hawke needs to find a way to heal the rift between his animal and himself if he has a chance to continue to live and fight at his brothers’ sides. With his life completely out of control the last thing he expects is to find a measure of peace but that comes whenever Faith is around him.

Faith is drawn to Hawke in a way she has never experienced before. Though it is Maxim who holds her in thrall and is determined to bend her to his will. Faith is not sure what is going on only that something is wrong and she needs to figure out quickly because whatever is happening it is getting stronger and soon she won’t be able to escape it.

Hawke knows there is more going on between Faith and Maxim than he can see. And though Hawke is damaged he is figuring out that he is the only one that can free Faith from Maxim. Now he is going to have to find a way to heal himself so that he can help Faith escape what is coming. Because only together will they be able to fix what is wrong. To do that they will have to embrace the wildness within themselves and surrender to each other.

This is another great story in this series. The stories are much better when read together because while each one has a happily-ever-after the stories are linked together by the story line and the reader might find themselves a little lost with the story line. The premise of the books is very unique and intriguing and will definitely hook the reader on this series. This is one series that shouldn’t be missed.

Pamela’s stories just keep getting deeper as they go. I really enjoyed the way she came about with the threat to the Warriors this time around, it was different.

I have enjoyed reading this series but this one was borderline for me. I enjoyed some of it but yet some of it I didn’t. Pamela writes on the darker side with each of her warriors but this one the heroine really tore at me.. I felt so bad for her but again she was the one that chose the route to go with the Feral, but she didn’t want the abuse. What I disliked most was she was abused while in the Warriors house and it took them a bit to even find out. But I have to admit Pamela gave this heroine so much at the end, so it was worth reading all of it. I am still scratching my head over the one sex scene between her and Hawke. It’s not that I mind reading ruff and somewhat bloody sex it’s just Faith keeps saying she was never a person that would be a victim of violence but yet she’s having very rough sex… And yes, I know she was possessed but I am still confused with it..

As always you get a fast pace action story. You also get to read about the other Warriors and their wife’s. I hope Vhyper starts bugging Pamela soon because I can’t wait for his book.

This storyline just keeps getting better and deeper. The Mage are getting wilier and wilier and coming up with new and scary methods to win the war and release the Daemon.

Hawke is free of the spirit trap but the bond with his animal has suffered greatly. If he does not repair the damage, both him and his hawk will die. Enter Faith who is actually slated to be another warriors mate though the connection with Maxim is brand new and shaky. Hawke and Faith have an instant connection which Hawke's moral code will not let him break. Unfortunately Hawke is having a crisis with his animal and Faith's presence is the only thing holding him together.

I loved this story and the cliff hanger ending was simply amazing and so unexpected. I can't wait to see where Ms. Palmer takes us next.

This is by far my new favorite in the series. The new arcs in the storyline are a wonderful expansion to the Feral Warriors world.

I will admit I have read all the feral warriors books in Pamela Palmer's exciting paranormal series and I will also admit the last book in the series, Hunger Untamed left me lukewarm. So I came into Ecstasy Untamed with my expectations lower than usual.

Ecstasy focuses on Hawke, a character that always interested me all the way along in this series. He is recently rescued from a hellish prison with Tighe. Whereas Tighe had his bond with his mate to see him through, Hawke is not so lucky. He always had a prickly relationship with his inner animal spirit ( a Hawk, natch) and this nightmarish event just further strains the bond.

I like the subplot of when Tighe and Hawke are released, the animal spirits of long dead feral warriors are also released and looking for worthy hosts. YAY! More Feral Warriors! This series could go on forever at this rate. But the people showing up at the Feral compound are a little worrying to the other warriors. Something is not quite right.

Maxium is a case in point. He shows up all arrogance and attitude with a woman in tow, Faith, who he claims will be his mate. Hawke is none to thrilled to hear this news as he feels a pull/attraction toward Faith. Hawke is not alone in this feeling, Faith feels it as well. But isn't she destined to be Maxium's?

This is one of those books that you really need to read the previous books in the series to get a firm grip on the plot. Pamela quickly explains various back story plots, but it is not enough I feel for a new reader to get a grasp on all the intricate plots and characters.

The conflict and the romance is well done this time around, Hawke is wonderful. His inner struggle with his animal spirit makes him tortured and appealing, and Faith is the female counterpart to that. As with the other Feral books, the romance is tied up in a nice neat package, but cliffhangers abound. I know some readers don't like it, but here it works. Also the interaction between the Feral Warriors fuels these books. They are more than brothers. There is an unbreakable bond between men when they go into battle together and Pamela really drives that point home with her warriors. They fight and love fiercely which makes them so damned sexy.

I read a netgalley of this, but I will be sure to get the paperback to add to my collection. I really had no objections to the book except the ending, I sort of guessed what was going to happen, I would have liked to have been a little more surprised. Regardless, Ecstasy Untamed was a solid, very enjoyable paranormal read with sexy leads and fantastic characters backing them up. Can I say 'ouch' with what happened to Jag? *tease*

4.5 stars out of 5 for the Book (rounded up to 5)

And YAY! Paul Marron on the cover! He's a perfect Hawke! Paul was also on Desire Untamed cover as Lyon.

Ecstasy Untamed is book six in Pamela Palmer's Feral Warrior series. But if you haven't read the first five, don't let that stop you from giving this book a try. I haven't read the other books either. And while it was obvious the series has a history, I never felt lost and the world building was easy to understand in the context of the story.

A quick set up: There is a race of immortals called Therians. Long ago, each had the power to shift into animals. But a big bad thing happened and then only about two dozen of the Therians retained the power. Each carried the spirit of one animal. Then, another big bad thing happened, trapping the animal spirits of all but nine of the remaining shifters. Those men, the Ferals, protect the other Therians and fight the bad guy Mages who want to release bad-guy Daemons on the world. Anytime a Feral is killed, his animal searches for a strong Therian to replace him and that man is drawn to the other warriors to join their group. Still with me?

Hawke is one of the Ferals and as the book begins, he is recovering from an attack that left him in conflict with his animal. He is trying to repair the damage, but it's not working out. In the meantime, Maxim appears at the house with his would-be mate, Faith. Maxim has the marks of a Feral, and the men believe he is there to replace their lost brother, the Fox. It turns out, he carries one of those animals lost years ago. Quickly, Feral House begins filling with men carrying the other missing animals.

Hawke is drawn to Faith. She had only known Maxim a day before she followed him to Feral House, but she felt drawn to him... certain she belonged to him. It's a feeling that's difficult to hold onto as Maxim reveals himself to be an enormous asshat and she begins to fall for Hawke. If you're worried this might be an infidelity story, don't be. Maxim is a bad, bad dude. And it's obvious Hawke and Faith are meant to be together. The only question is how they're going to get there.

There's a lot going on in the book. The love story is good and so is the sex. There is plenty of action and plot development, but it's easy to keep up with. There is also a bit of darkness --which surprised me a bit. But all the twists and turns kept things interesting. We've got a set-up for two different couples in future books. I am definitely interested in what's going to happen with Wulfe. I want to go back and check out the backlist to learn more about him, if for no other reason. He smacks of a delicious tortured hero.

I enjoyed it. 4 stars.

I've listened to the audiobook versions of all of the Feral Warriors titles, and prior to Hawke's story, I'd given only one of the titles five stars (Paenther's story, Passion Untamed). That total ups to two now, however, with ECSTASY UNTAMED, the sixth in the series. The story of Hawke, the kindest and perhaps most sensitive of the shifters, and Faith, a recent arrival from eastern Europe who is brought to Feral House under questionable circumstances, is a suspenseful tale full of passion, emotion, pain, and hope. Unlike the other Feral Warriors books, there is no sex in this story until well over half of the book. It is a beautifully developed, character-driven story, in which we watch Hawke, whose relationship with his animal is damaged and fracturing, and Faith, who is drawn to Malcolm, a newly marked warrior who claims she is to be his mate (and whom, from the moment we meet him, we know we are not meant to like at all), while she is simultaneously unable to deny an even more powerful affinity for Hawke.

Palmer takes her flare for romantic suspense to a new level in this story. The plotline is broadened by the appearance of new characters, a nefarious plot surrounding Faith's intended (Malcolm), and the ever-present threat of the Mage and the daemons desperately trying to break free from their captivity. The relationship between Hawke and Faith is the best and most rewarding part of this story; both of their pasts are filled with pain, and their ability to care for and heal each other is dependent upon all of the other factors and fiends working against them....

CHARACTER-DRIVEN, BEAUTIFULLY DEVELOPED; BEST IN THE SERIES TO DATE!

ECSTASY UNTAMED was, for me, the best in this series to date. As with the previous Feral Warriors titles, the narration of Rob Shapiro and his ability to voice so many different characters (and different accents in this story) was outstanding. I'm going to download the audiobook of the next title immediately; can't wait!

For maximum enjoyment, the Feral Warriors series should be read in order.
SERIES READING ORDER:
1. Desire Untamed - Lion + Kara
2. Obsession Untamed - Tighe + Delaney
3. Passion Untamed - Paenther + Skye
3.5 Hearts Untamed (a novella originally printed in the Bitten by Cupid anthology) - Zee + Julianne - this novella is unrelated to the Feral Warriors plotline but introduces characters who reappear
4. Rapture Untamed - Jag + Olivia
5. Hunger Untamed - Kougar + Ariana
6. Ecstasy Untamed - Hawke + Faith
7. A Love Untamed - Fox + Melisande
8. Wulfe Untamed - Wulfe + Natalie

So, I've read all the FERAL WARRIORS books (obviously) and while I've always enjoyed them they were never the types of books where I was like "YES! I can't wait for this book to come out!" And on top of that Hawke was never my favorite warrior, and honestly I never really cared what happened to him. So when I got the galley for ECSTASY UNTAMED I wasn't in a big hurry to read it. With all of that being said I enjoyed this book so so so much. ECSTASY UNTAMED is by far my favorite book of the series, and one of the best Paranormal Romance books I've read all year. Yes, it is that good!

I usually don't like the heroines in Paranormal Romances. I don't know what it is about them but they annoy me. It's usually because they are acting like idiots and don't do the most obvious thing. I also usually find them to be pretty whiny. Faith, however, is a treasure. She is edgy, smart, kind hearted, but such a strong feminine lead. Most would look at her and see a girl who is too small or nice to make a difference. Boy would they be wrong. She has the courage of a warrior and the strength of one too.

Speaking of warriors, I am not too prideful to admit that I was dead wrong about Hawke. I always looked at him as somebody who doesn't really make a difference. I mean he's a hawk, what kind of damage could he possibly do? But he is just as strong as his fellow warriors but in a different way. He is strong and definitely a fierce competitor when it comes to fighting, but I think it's his mind, and thirst for knowledge that is most helpful to the warriors.

My favorite scene in ECSTASY UNTAMED has to be the first time Faith and Hawke meet. I am a firm believer that you won't find a sweeter, more natural "first meeting" in any book this year. This scene made my heart soar with its sweetness. Gosh, I can't even explain it, you will understand once you’ve read the book!

So all in all ECSTASY UNTAMED was a wonderful read. It was full of nail biting moments, intense love scenes, twists that you never see coming, and the continuation of a story that leaves you anxious to see what happens next. If you haven't read this series yet, I would recommend it just because of this book. ECSTASY UNTAMED is alone worth reading all the others, but the whole series is truly good and very enjoyable!

Even though he’s free from the spirit trap. Hawke is still lost to his spirit animal. A break has occurred and if it’s not repaired, the break will cause the hawk to find a new Feral and Hawke will die. Maxim arrives with his soon to be mate Faith at Feral house as the replacement for the Fox feral. Faith has a calming effect on Hawke’s bird, and Faith feels a strong attraction for Hawke, quite different than what she feels for Maxim, but mating bonds are not meant to be broken. Maxim turns out to be something none of the Ferals bargained for and what should be a joyous time could be the beginning of the end.

For me this was by far the darkest, but the best book of the series. I was gasping and "Oh, no"...ing through the whole book. Lots and LOTS of jaw dropping surprises in this one. Annnnnd you know I don't do spoilers, but I will tell you to have your reading routine set up, because once you start, you will NOT put this book down. For those unfamiliar with the series, the Ferals are a group of other beings, who have been chosen by a spirit animal to become basically immortal and protect the races, Therians and humans from the evil Mages who work for evil and darkness. They are guided and fed by The Radiant, a female who is always mated to a feral, and connects with the Earth's energies. They are hunted by Mages, practitioners of dark magic and keeper of demons. Pamela Palmer has created a very detailed and compelling world with her Feral series.

In his book, Hawke is much darker. Whereas before the spirit trap Hawke was actually one of the more laid back, calmer Ferals, in this book, the opposite is completely true. Faith was a good match for Hawke. She is a Therian who has secrets, and Maxim capitalizes on those secrets. Oh, and Maxim. He is such a tool of a villain. Ms. Palmer out did herself with this one. Ugh! I love the fact that even though each book focuses on an individual Feral's story, the others always have a huge impact and their lives continue to progress in each book. Even though they get a HEA, it doesn't necessarily stay that way. You can NOT go wrong reading this book. It is one of the best reads you'll have all year.

Ecstasy Untamed
2 Stars

A mediocre addition to an excellent series.

The basic premise of the Feral Warriors focuses on the well-used, and perhaps even over-used, trope of a band of supernatural warriors working together to save the world - in this case shapeshifters rather than vampires. That said, the series incorporates a number of original and unique elements that make it a riveting read. Unfortunately, Ecstasy Untamed adds little to the world or the characters, and the romance is passionless and disappointing.

Neither Hawke nor Faith are particularly interesting characters and their chemistry is non-existent. Hawke makes little to no impression in the previous books and seems to merely fill out the ranks of the warriors (this made me less than enthusiastic about his book and explains the gap in my reading of the series). The notion of a conflict with his animal spirit is introduced with no buildup or background, and is resolved just as easily. Moreover, this particular internal struggle is done to better effect in Paenther's book and is, therefore, repetitious and lacking originality.

Faith is a sweet heroine but comes across as too weak and submissive. This is particularly problematic as it contradicts her initial characterization as a strong and independent woman who aids abused street kids. The most irritating aspect is that this woman completely disappears when Faith is subjected to the villain's machinations and never returns.

The villain is the most compelling character in the book although his background and motivation could have been better developed. The plot revolving around the return of the Seventeen, i.e., the other Feral Warriors whose animals were imprisoned in the Spirit Trap, has definite potential and kept me reading despite the bland romance. There are also some tantalizing hints at things to come with Wulfe and Natalie as well as a frightening development at the end that has me eager to read the next book.

An advance copy of the book was provided to me for review by the publisher and NetGalley.com

Hawke is back and be still my heart! I finally made it to my favorite Feral Warrior and his tortured story. I think I didn't eat, sleep or do much of anything while reading this book. Even my kids steered clear of me.

Hawke has been rescued from the spirit trap and he is not the same as when he went in. His animal is fighting with him and causing him to shift. Even though he is trying to fight the rage and the unwanted shifting, when the animal does take over it takes him to the sky for hours. When he is in his hawk form, he isn't even remembering it. If he doesn't get his animal under control soon, he will eventually die.

Faith is a Therian living in Poland. When out one night she is attacked by Daemons. A handsome stranger comes to her rescue and convinces her that they are mates. He sweeps her away to the Feral House to claim his animal that he is marked with. Maxim is not what he seems though. He is cold, cruel, and definitely not the next Foxx. Some animals were never reborn into the next Feral intended until the spirit trap was breached. Now they are finding themselves being introduced to them rather quickly. In this we see the true nature of Maxim and the true evil he is capable of. Seriously, by the end of Chapter 6, this book becomes dark, dirty and flat out suspenseful. Be warned and be ready to have your heart flutter in fear.

As if the author couldn't torture us enough after that, the readers learn a secret about Faith that could change everything. Will she reveal it to Hawke and the other Warriors? If she does, will she do it in time? Can she save Hawke and make him realize what is truly wrong with his animal spirit? Well, my lovely readers -- you will have to read the book.

The ending was bittersweet for me. It is left with a climatic ending that makes me scream in frustration because we have to wait for the next book! Release day will not arrive soon enough for this fan. I wonder if I could bribe author Pamela Palmer for some hints and secrets?

This is a hard book to review without spoiling some major points within the book. These books are normally pretty straight forward, the couple discovers they are mates, one or both of them fight the attraction, they finally give in, and then there is some action in the larger story arc. This one doesn't follow that pattern. In fact it is so far from it you are left scratching your head wondering where things are going.

At one point you know something is off, just not sure what or why. Then suddenly the actions become clear and you are horrified for one of the characters. What happens to her is worse than rape, I think what makes it worse is that there are people who would help if her is they knew, but they don't and when they do find out things become really interesting.

Other parts of this book will make you rethink just what evil is. Not only has evil touched these warriors by killing two-thirds of their members centuries ago, it comes back and taunts the warriors that are left with hope. Hope that they can become what they were, hope that they have a chance of beating them, and hope that there will be a happy ending for everyone. But true evil takes that hope and turns it against them causing more damage than the first act caused, because now can they really trust any good thing that happens, can they trust people that are supposed to be on their side, and can they live through betrayal after betrayal. Those questions aren't answered in this book they will have to wait until future ones to find out.

First off, let me just say that normally I can’t read books that deal with any possibility of infidelity. That said: Faith and Hawke were perfect for each other. Both are outsider personalities, and Hawke appreciates Faith’s quirkiness. Faith is sweet, still a bit naïve even though she lives with the worst of humanity, and just a great heroine. Hawke is fighting himself; he is still dealing with having been stuck in the spirit trap, and fears that he might be losing both his sanity and his animal. And of course, he’s hot. I think what made their attraction work (even with the infidelity issue) is that Hawke and Faith showed a great amount of respect for her relationship, even while being forced to acknowledge that they felt strongly towards each other. And I loved the surprise plot twist. Without spoiling, let me just say that this might be the best Feral Warriors novel yet. Palmer was able to wrap up several plot lines, and create some new story arcs that will be just as interesting as the original stories.

With every book in this series I fall in love with the warriors a little bit more. Personally, I love big cat shifters but this book centres around Hawke and it's the best one yet!

With everything that happened in Hunger Untamed, book 5 in the series, I expected to find things getting back to normal around Feral House but I have never been happier to be wrong! I wholeheartedly urge anyone thinking of picking this book up to start with the firs one, yes each book is a stand alone novel but the ongoing story arc is very important to the overall plot and you'd enjoy it even more.

Hot shifters, action, sex, love, violence, twists, turns this book has it all and I'm so glad I was alog for the ride! Pamela is quickly becoming a favourite author of mine and I can't wait to see where the journey takes us next!

A well deserved 5 stars.

Buddy read with Laurielu Horton =)

Ahhh, so glad to finally love Feral Warriors again, after I'm a little bit disappointed with Jag and Kougar's story. Faith and Hawke such a cute couple. They mean to be together. And love all that twist with the New Feral Warriors.

My compliment is, what with the ending??? Pamela Palmer such an evil author here. Must wait 6-7 months to know the answer!!

Complete reviews near the release date =)

My thought about the cover :
Paul Marron look good...in PINK *snort*
Umm, he's still hot no matter what color was used to be the cover background, or he just go shirtless, or with the awkward pose. And its so easily to imagine Hawke as him ;-)

I like this series, but haven’t felt a strong attachment to it since Paenther’s book. This book surprised me! The story started out with Hawk’s recovery and the introduction of the new Fox warrior with his mate (which Hawk wants). You have the nice and fun camaraderie of the feral warriors and their mates and some angst of clashing personalities with the new warrior. And then…BAM…the story starts rockin’!

There are some new warriors introduced, which will make for some great upcoming books. You see a bit more of the setup for Wulfe’s book (which I assume will be next, but I could be wrong…) Although, I love Vhyper, and am waiting patiently for his book…
