This is a short and to the point romance easily read in one sitting. This is a small book but it packs a lot into its 122 pages. Stevie has plans to help her friend, Sunny, start a new greenhouse business in Blue Hollow Falls. When she arrives during the Christmas Holiday, she comes face to face with Noah who is friends with Sunny's boyfriend. The attraction is there and I don't need to go into where it goes from here...the plot can be easily figured out.

True, when the two love birds meet, the reader knows where this story is going but the Author takes us there in a convincing manner. Stevie has nowhere to stay - her friend is having work done on her home. But of course, Noah runs the Local Inn and easily makes room for Stevie. Stevie stays there and, of course, sparks fly.

My only gripe is that I wished it had been longer. When I requested the book, I had no idea it would be this short. I kinda wish it had been longer. This is not an earth shattering book that I feel I need to tell all of my friends about but it is enjoyable. It is not the first book in the series but it worked perfectly as a stand alone. This book takes place during the Christmas holiday although the emphasis in this book is not on the Holiday but on the relationship itself. This is a sweet short romance perfect for the afternoon when you feel like reading. The dialogue is good and the story is entertaining.

Have I ever told you I'm a sucker for a beautiful cover? Well I am and this one is a real beauty! Stevie wants to help her friend,Sunny launch her greenhouse business in Blue Hollow Falls which just happens to be in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. If you've ever seen the mountains you know just how beautiful it is. We got married there. Sunny has some remodeling going on at her house so Stevie is unable to stay there and must stay at the Inn at Blue Hollow Falls. I'm not sure what is flying faster, the sparks between Innkeeper Noah and Stevie, who is a woman by the way or the flakes outside. Fresh and fun Christmas romance. I want to be snowed in at the inn and experience the beauty of a Christmas in the Blue Ridge Mountains. My only complaint is this book wasn't long enough.

5 - "It's perfect for me..." Stars!

I fell in love with this series hard, with the first book; Blue Hollow Falls delivering everything I want in my contemporary romance reading, and Donna Kauffman blew my Christmas Socks off, with this sweet, seasonal novella.

We met Inn-Keeper Noah and Botanist Stevie in the first book in that they were both close friends of Sunny and Sawyer, so it was great to go back to Virginia, and reconnect with everyone while the snow is falling and Christmas magic is in the air.

"Christmas is just another day to me. And I’m okay with that."

Being snowed in at the Inn, and thrown together by circumstance gave the romance side of their story a little ‘insta’ injection, but I didn’t mind, the author took me too my reading happy place, with the perfect setting, likeable characters and a happily ever after that will have you sighing into your peppermint candy cane hot chocolate.

"I think this is that thing worth fighting for… And I want to do it right. From the start."

Short, sweet, and sooo satisfying, you will want to add this standalone novella to your Christmas reading wish-list.

"You’ve got yourself a Christmas convert."

Seth is up next with Bluestone & Vine due for release in June 18, I cannot wait to get back to this series and the characters it has given me.

The only thing wrong with the book is it ended way before I was ready for it. From the first page I stop feeling like I'm reading and start feeling like I am an observer. I am so glad Donna Kauffman found a way to bring Stevie Franklin to Blue Hollow Falls. Innkeeper Noah Tyler makes me want to reserve a room and hope I get snowed in. I am not a romance novel reader except for those by Donna Kauffman. She always writes good story to go along with the romance.

Loved this short and sweet romance. Especially since it takes places around Christmas my favorite time of year plus Stevie works at keeping orchids beautifully alive my favorite flower. I loved the connection between Stevie and Noah. It was a sweet romance with moments of hot passion. This story truly reminds us all that love and friendship keeps us all smiling and looking forward to many memories. Lets all toast to love and happiness.

THE INN AT BLUE HOLLOW FALLS by Donna Kauffman was an easy pick for this month’s Quickie category for our TBR Challenge. I fell in love with the characters in the BLUE HOLLOW FALLS series in 2018 when I discovered this author through the cover of book one, Blue Hollow Falls. It has a historic greenhouse on it, and since horticulture was one of my chosen careers, I’m attracted to all things plant related.

See this review in full color at my blog, TheZestQuest.com.

THE INN AT BLUE HOLLOW FALLS continues with more about this gorgeous greenhouse as it’s being renovated. Sunny’s best friend and previous co-worker, Stevie, comes to help her with her orchid project.

Of course, who can forget Noah the Innkeeper? And lucky for Stevie that’s where she’s staying. And there’s a wicked snowstorm. Plus, they’re cooking up more than food in the kitchen while they wait for the newly hired chef to arrive.

Stevie and Noah are adorable and sexy together. From the beginning, I was convinced they were meant to be together, if they’d take time to resolve their possible long-distance relationship.

Some authors have a knack for novellas and Donna Kauffman was one of them. The hardest thing was discovering we lost this amazing author to pancreatic cancer in 2020. That especially resonates with me since I was diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis in 2019. It’s a frustrating thing to live with, so I can empathize with what Donna endured.

I think anyone can pick up THE INN AT BLUE HOLLOW FALLS and enjoy it without reading the rest of the series. That would give you a taste of Donna Kauffman’s talent. I have the whole series because I had to have them all. Next up for me is BLUESTONE & VINE, book two.

I’ve already read BLUE HOLLOW FALLS, book one, and LAVENDER BLUE, book three. Click the links to read my reviews. Book four, UNDER A FIREFLY MOON is on my TBR as well. There are also three more novellas to complete the set – CHRISTMAS IN BLUE HOLLOW FALLS, LAVENDER & MISTLETOE, and NEW BEGINNINGS.

I loved The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kaufman. Stevie has come to Blue Hollow Falls to help her friend Sunny set up the research plants in her greenhouse. She is blown away by the beauty of it all, including the snow covered ground and gorgeous men, hoping her bad luck with men might just change. With Sunny’s home under construction, Stevie ends up staying at the local Inn, run by the handsome Noah Tyler. While at the Inn, as the weather affects everyone and everything, Stevie goes into helper mode, as she was trained by her granny; this includes serving up some of her family’s favorite recipes. For someone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, can the magic of Blue Hollow Falls bring some of its spirit to Stevie and can Noah restore Stevie’s belief in love?

I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers. It was difficult for me to put this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Kaufman is a wonderful story teller drawing me into her books, making me forget the world around me. Again, she created a story which allowed me to visualize the inn and the surrounding beauty of the mountains and hills of Blue Hollow Falls covered in snow. Oh, and recipes were included. This is the second book in this series and I can’t wait for the next one to be published.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

ARC REVIEW

The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls is a novella for the Blue Hollow Falls series and as the name suggests it deals with the Inn and it's sexy Innkeeper Noah. Stevie is supposed to be in town just to help her best friend set up her new greenhouse. But a blizzard stands her at the inn helping Noah with the guests. It seems like nothing is going to go right from the almost disastrous kitchen fire and the sprinklers going off and the absence of the actual chef. It's an instant attraction between Noah and Stevie and they are almost hesitant to start anything because one Stevie lives in the city and Noah is pretty much married to the inn and he lost one long term relationship because of it already. But Noah was told that he would know true love when he sese it and he sees it when he looks at Stevie and he is willing to risk a broken heart just to try.

Overall, it is a quick read, a very good read with great characters and a instalove romance. As short as it is it feels like a full story very engaging and fulfilling.

Hi guys,

I've just finished my first Christmas themed book of 2017, and it was good. The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls is a contemporary novella. It's supposed to be read after the first novel in the Blue Hollow Falls series. I didn't read the first book, because The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls was a NetGalley e-arc and I didn't want to run out of time before I read it. It worked fine though, as we focus on a different couple. I believe the main character, Stevie is bought up in the first book as a side character.

The book is basically a romance surrounding Stevie and the inn keeper, Noah. It was a pleasant read. The story is pretty simple as it just follows those two characters getting to know each other. Do they fall in love though? You'll have to read to find out. I would say this is an ADULT read, due to some more erotic scenes.

What did I like about The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls?

I liked the banter that Stevie and Noah had. They easily got to know one another. Is this realistic? Maybe not but it worked well in this story. Without it, the novella would have been very short.

I liked how each character had their own personality. Some of the characters, we weren't with for very long at all but I still got a sense of who they were.

I liked how there were both funny, humorous scenes as well as more serious and emotional scenes.

What didn't I like about The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls?

I didn't like how this wasn't a full on novel. I would have liked to know what happened to the characters at the end of The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls. I believe the next novel follows an entirely different story so I don't expect we hear of Stevie again.

Those reasons above are why I'm giving The Inn At Blue Hollow Falls 3 Stars! If it had been a full novel, I may have given it 4 stars. It's just the short length that brought it down in my eyes.

Stand by for my next review, coming soon...

First, what a gorgeous cover for this book! And it looks like the description of the building in the story. Bonus points! Second, this Christmas novella is written by Donna Kauffman...which means it is totally awesome!
I loved that the characters attraction was off the charts from the moment they met. I also loved that Stevie and Noah acted upon that attraction and the sparks zinging around them almost instantly. There's absolutely nothing better than knowing that something is the best ever, right from the start. Love at first sight? You bet! Nobody writes it better than Donna Kauffman. The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls hit me like her Half Moon Harbor did and it is one of my favorites!
This was obviously a quick read since it's a novella. That fact, along with the fact that there are snow clogged roads, roaring fire places and soul warming hot chocolate (and other kinds of heat) in the story make it the perfect holiday read. Partake of The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls this Christmas season and you won't regret it. It warmed me all the way down to my heart.

“Charming characters, emotion galore, a small town—you’re going to love Donna Kauffman!” —Lori Foster

My Thoughts

From the start I felt at ease with the settings, the characters, the different obstacles that Noah and Stevie work their way through together and most of all the flow was so enticing that it was a shame that had to put the book aside in order to sleep.

For me this second chance at love romance filled my heart full and I hope other readers have the same reaction because Noah and Stevie’s slow journey to their HEA was a lovely example of what falling in love with the right one can do to change a persons dreams for their future in a heartbeat.

My favorite quote regarding what is important to remember at Christmas "Holding the ones you love and loving the ones you held." is a lesson all of us need to take to heart, but all year round not just on special days.

This was a wonderful story filled with humor and heart that expect when opening a book by Donna Kauffman, and once again my expectations were lived up to.

Stevie Franklin has come over Christmas to help at that beautiful old greenhouse. Turns out we see more of the Inn at Blue Hollow Falls than we do the greenhouse. Noah Tyler is the innkeeper and he and Stevie click from the very beginning. When the snow comes down and the power goes out Stevie does not sit around, she helps. I loved watching the attraction between Stevie and Noah develop. They both knew it was something special and they needed take a chance and explore their feeling. Great scenes and interesting characters abound in the story. I loved the way the story worked out.

I simply love the story of Stevie and Noah! I did not want to put it down! A sweet little love story set in the amazing Blue Hollow Falls. These 2 are a perfect match for each other, and showed that there is such a thing as love at first sight. Even though the setting was cold and frosty, I felt warm and fuzzy on the inside. I am looking forward to more stories of Blue Hollow Falls, I am hooked!

The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman
Cute Christmas holiday tale of Stevie and she's visiting with a girlfriend and she's a guru with setting up the greenhouse of orchids and other plants.
She is staying at the inn and things happen to draw her closer to the inn owner, snow, blizzard, no electric , food on short supply, etc. They find ways to entertain themselves while also helping others keep occupied.
Some sex scenes and I like the snow activities mentioned.
Their relationship goes slowly as they both decide to keep it friendly with no commitments, has it gone further than that?
Recipes included.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Super, if short, Christmas story!

Wow! I loved meeting Stevie and Noah and seeing them together. This is a short story at a little over a hundred pages, but it is good. The characters are well rounded and appealing. The story line has enough happening to keep the story moving, but is still very gentle! This is one story I think I will be rereading a few times.

I can't wait for the next story, which we just got a glimpse of. So, if you like cute Christmas stories, with special characters, and a nice easy pace, but nothing is ever too easy, then this is the story for you. Read the first book first if you can. If not, read this, but I bet you will go back to see how it all started! Enjoy!

Cute novella (only about 100 pages) about Stevie, a DC botanist/horticulturist who travels to the mountains to help her former coworker and best friend set up a new greenhouse. Of course, a snow storm ensures and Stevie ends up snowed in at the local inn, owned by the deliciously handsome hot lumberjack Noah. Stevie lends a helping hand to keep the inn running smoothly, and Noah thanks by falling in love with her ;)

Stevie seems to always have bad luck in her relationships with men so the chance to travel to Blue Hollow Falls to help her friend Sunny get her new greenhouse business started appears to be just what Stevie needs. The only problem is that Sunny's house is being renovated so Stevie has to find a place to stay. There is a local B&B and this is where Stevie finds a physical place to stay and an emotional home for her heart. She feels an immediate attraction to the owner Noah but you just know that this is more than physical. Snow covered roads, roaring fires in the fireplace, and the warmth that is evident during the Christmas holidays are all part of this Christmas novella and The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls seems the perfect place to stay. Add a beautiful cover and a heart warming romance and this enchanting story from author Donna Kauffman leaves readers looking forward to returning to Blue Hollow Falls!

I received a complimentary copy of this e-novella but I was under no obligation to post a positive review.

While The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman is shorter than the first book in the series, it is still a mighty fine read. The characters, Noah and Stevie are introduced in that first book, it is a wonderful “Grinch Snowed In With the Inn-Keeper” story. What better place for that to happened than at the picturesque Blue Hollow Falls.

Ms. Kauffman brings their story to life with humor, sizzling chemistry between engaging characters, with a little Christmas mountain magic. It is a charming and thoroughly enjoyable story. The saddest part is that this story ended long before I was ready to end my Blue Ridge Mountain visit.

4.5 Stars

What a fun, delightful story. Stevie Franklin, Sunny Goodwin's best friend is coming to Blue Hollow Falls over the Christmas Holiday to help her friend set up the orchids for her new program in the old Victorian greenhouse she inherited. Stevie isn't close to her family and would rather be working during the holidays and thought being with Sunny would be perfect. What Stevie didn't expect was big, gorgeous and hunky Noah Tyler. Noah owns the Inn at Blue Hollow Falls and is one of Sawyer's good friends.

The first meeting between Stevie and Noah was great and of course there was instant attraction. Stevie ends up staying at Noah's inn since the broken water pipes at Sawyer's forced her to find somewhere else to stay. While at the inn, a huge snow storm hits and Stevie and Noah are snowed in along with his guests. Stevie jumps right in to help. This constant closeness is causing some interesting feelings between the two of them that they both thought they'd never find. It was fun watching this Christmas loving guy with a huge family slowly get Stevie to love the holiday season just like him.

If you are looking for a fun, quick Christmas story, you will really enjoy this one!

Lovely Christmas themed romance between Stevie- who wasn't looking for romance when she arrived in the Blue Ridge mountains- and Noah, who owns the inn where she stays. These two seem like an odd couple at first but you know, don't you, that they will work things out. Kauffman has used her atmospheric setting quite well AND she's included recipes for some of the dishes Stevie cooks when she steps in as chef at the Inn on Christmas Eve. The dialogue is good, the characters well done, and gosh, you'll want to pack up and go visit the area. I had not read the first book but that wasn't a problem at all. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I very much enjoyed this and you will too if you're looking for a positive light read to settle in with.

A lovely short novella set during the holiday season, it packs a punch in the romance department. Stevie has come to help her friend Sunny set up her greenhouse in the part that has been rehabbed, and when she sees it she know just why Sunny fell in love. Enter Noah the keeper/owner of the town Inn and friend to Sawyer and Sunny. When they meet you can tell there is instant attraction and immediately want to see them end up together. The naturalness between the characters felt real, and their banter from beginning to end always brought a smile to my face. No matter their different lives they show that love is worth having as long as you are willing to compromise, communicate and work for it. I love when an author writes a novella between other books because it is a fun way to revisit the characters that you've come to know and love. I look forward to seeing what else is to come for these characters and the scenic town that they call home. Who will love come to next?

I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to read a Donna Kauffman book as she's been on my 'to read' list for a while, but she's definitely on my favourite authors list now!

This is the second book in the Blue Hollow Falls series. I loved the first one and couldn't wait for the second one, and this has been just as good. Such great characters in a wonderful setting.

This book is about Stevie (a friend and co-worker of Sunny from the first book) who has come out to Blue Hollow Falls for a holiday over Christmas and to help Sunny with the fabulous greenhouse she has inherited and is renovating. They both work with rare plants and orchids and Sunny has received a grant so they are busy trying to set up her new greenhouse business.

Stevie ends up staying at a B&B in the area run by Noah and the chemistry between the two is just so natural, they just click. But of course Stevie is only visiting and so initially reluctant to get involved too much. Noah was such a great character, so friendly and laid back, nothing was too much of a problem for him. He made running his Inn look so easy, even though it was obviously hard work.

The story is set around Christmas and there's plenty of snow and holiday cheer which makes for such a lovely read. Really enjoyable shorter story. I really can't wait for Seth's story in the next book in this series, 'Bluestone & Vine', they've definitely made it onto my automatic buy list.

I love this story! When I read the first book in this series, I was hooked. The setting for these stories is, of course, Blue Hollow Falls in the Blue Ridge Mountains and I immediately fell in love with the people and with the setting. Ms. Kauffman describes the area so well that I actually felt like I was walking through the fields and buildings – could actually feel the history, if you will. And this story during the holidays? I felt the magic in the air. And yes, it is a standalone story but as a holiday story in (what I hope to be a LONG) series? I got to visit with characters from the first book to see how they were doing. Love that.

Stevie Franklin works in Washington, DC and is friends with Sunny. She goes out to visit Sunny who is now living in the Blue Ridge Mountains but Stevie has to stay at the local inn. She meets Noah Tyler, friend to Sunny, who also owns and operates the inn. A wonderful holiday story ensues! Here’s what I enjoyed the most about it: Yes, it is a ‘feel good’ holiday adventure. Yes, both Stevie and Noah need to stop over-thinking their lives and pasts in order to have a happily ever after. However, BOTH of these characters are strong, thoughtful, teeny bit scarred individuals. Stevie is a very strong woman but has a soft streak, is playful, loving and snarky – very cool. Noah is a warm, loving, far too busy innkeeper who has had a bad relationship in the past. With Noah, I found that he has such strength of character, without being an alpha jerk, at least to me. I just adored him and how he treated everyone around him, most of all Stevie.

I won’t retell the story but know that it is fun, thoughtful, loving and quite funny at times! Just the peripheral characters that show up at the inn, and Noah’s friends, will have you smiling from beginning to end. GREAT holiday read, so happy to be back in Blue Hollow Falls for a visit, and can’t wait for more stories!

First off, I have always loved Donna Kauffman's books, but this new series is a must read!

Stevie makes her way up to Blue Hollow Falls to help out her friend Sunny get her new greenhouse all in working order. She is a true city girl and is a little more about fashion than warmth and practicality on her winter clothing. But that does not stop Stevie. She just laughs it off when she gets covered with snow in her chance encounter with Noah.

Noah is a man whom is loving his life up in Blue Hollow Falls. He is an inn keeper and has an almost full house during Christmas. He does have one room available for Stevie since she was unable to stay with Sunny because of repairs being done to her house.

Noah and Stevie sure hit it off fast. You can see and feel the physical draw they have to each other. They don't fight it for too long, and when they great sparks, they literally create sparks, well lots of smoke anyway. Let's just say a call to the fire department is in order for sure.

Noah thinks he has found the one, and Stevie is used to being alone and doing her own thing, however she seems to be able to slide right into the Inn life and help out without any complaints or even being asked to do so. Did Stevie find her new forever place? Can Noah convince Stevie that they are a true match and really give this a go?

A great little read that is fun, sweet, and sure to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Stevie Franklin takes her accumulated time off to go to Blue Follow Falls to help her best friend and fellow botanist Sunny with her dreams for the greenhouse that Sunny had inherited.
Stevie fell in love with Blue Hollow, the greenhouse, the Inn and....Noah Tyler.
Stevie takes a room in Noah's inn after her planned room became unavailable due to a storm and encounters a full inn, another huge snowstorm...with no chef. As she helps him deal with the problem of being understaffed, they come to admire much about each other.
Told with humor and romance this is a winner.
The author brings the characters to such life, you'd love to have them as friends. Heartwarming and funny, this is an ideal Christmas read.
I jumped on requesting this ARC as soon as I knew of it's availability, and plan to purchase several for friends on my gift list.

My only complaint about Stevie and Noah's story in The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls is that it's too short:-). Filled with D.K.'s trademark immersive sense of time and place along with a fundamental core of camaraderie between men and women who are attracted to each other as multifaceted human beings, this little tale encapsulates the charms of the Christmas season with a celebration of community.

Could have been so much better if fewer pages were devoted to how he was trying to hide the bulge in his pants. I’m not a prude at all. I just felt like more time could have been devoted to developing the characters and the story. I liked the characters well enough. Would have liked to have gotten to know them a little better.
The ending was very abrupt. Wasn’t expecting it to just stop.
