I really wanted to like this book. It was a super quick and easy read. It’s my first by the author, and overall I liked the idea of the storyline. Unfortunately, while I can appreciate the terrible past relationship, I do feel it was a bit overdone. I did kind of get twilight vibes, which has a nostalgia factor… but it just kind of missed the mark for me. I would definitely give another go with this author though.

Great short read. Ms. Shae never disappoints with her bear shifter stories. Love them every time, she is one of my got to authors when I am having a bad day, or just need a good short read with of laughs and lots of hot romance.
Rory just out of a bad relationship. she is not looking for another one. She is just starting to get her self esteem back after her old boy friend did a number on her and for the first time in six months she goes out with girlfriends. Zach knew something was off in the club his small clan ran where he and his cousin provided security. But he wasn't sure what it was until he met the eyes of a certain woman across the dance floor. She said she would never go out with him, but sh was his mate and he was a patient bear, sometimes. Then he had her, then he didn't and he had no idea why. One night, Rory was coming home from work and something felt off, she didn't feel safe. She saw Zach in the window of the ice cream in town, she didn't hesitate to go him and ask for help. Can they get past her thoughts and what she sees as his similarities of her ex? Will Zach win his mate for be alone forever?
If you like quick reads that make you laugh, and your shifters hot and hunky with a touch alpha dominance you will love these five black bear shifters and their mates. A five star quick read that I could not put down. Can't wait to open the last of the series. But sad that will be the end of Blackbeary boys.

LMFAO
The punch at the end was well worth the wait. Ms. Shad idk how you come up with these characters but keep doing you. I was right with the clan in that wtf moment at the bbq because I couldn't understand how she making those jumps but they mad sense to her. She just came off looking more and more of the fruitcake variety maybe missing a few nuts on that train. Glad she got it together at the end and the pinecones were priceless....rotflmao

My challenge was I was awake at 3am, so I took a trip to Blackbeary, much better than plotting snoring hubby’s death. Good story, wrapped up before 5am.

Always Good
I am not a huge fan of paranormal romances but I always know that with Ruby Shae I will get a winner. Zach is mouthwatering. He is sexy, sweet and totally loveable. Rory was a great h that needed to see the love that Zach gave her was not in the same league of her ex. Good story and I can't wait for her next book!

Zach Is My New Favorite
OMG! I so love Ruby Shae books! They just get better and better with each one she writes but how to you build on perfection? I can't get enough of Bear Shifters. They are my weakness, my kryptonite! Ruby's are pretty high on the list.
Rory has been through hell with an abusive boyfriend but is finally free of him. Her confidence and self worth are severely damaged and she has sworn off all men and relationships. While out with friends, she meets Zach and is upset that she is instantly attracted to him. Zach is overjoyed to meet Rory as she is his destined mate. But when Rory rejects him he is heartbroken, yet he senses that she has been hurt before and doesn't persist. Zach also doesn't give up easily and secretly learns where she lives and begins to (guiltily) watch her for an opportunity to talk to her again. The plan works and it leads to them spending time together but a misunderstanding on Rory's part could destroy their new fragile relationship.

I soooo loved Zach's book. I waited for his version. He's sweet funny and knows how to get to a woman through her stomach and heart. Knowing she's not a shifter he took his time getting to know his princess. Really, her name was Aurura. So he kept calling her princess. You know things never go the way you until after some mix up and boy do you have to see it to believe it. I love their story but I'm not willing to tell. I need you go get the book and read it

I know the heroine had just gotten out of a very bad relationship but I had trouble not hating her for making Zach pay for her ex's bad behavior. She mostly redeemed herself in the end but not enough in my mind.

This is a wonderful series. Each one of these books can be read as a standalone but trust me you will want to read each and every one. Ruby Shae is a wonderful author.
I was so looking forward to Zach’s story. Zach is one that is fun, carefree, and very pleasant to be around. Women fell at this feet. So I guess it had to be a surprise after he found his mate that Rory did not fall at this feet. She pretty much sent him packing.
Rory was this beautiful curvy woman. She had low self-esteem and had this wall built up were she was not going to trust a man and let him in. So when Zach approached her she was very quick to let him know she was not interested and would never be interested. You talk about brushing his ego. Yip she left a few bruises with her let down.
I loved Zach’s determination. It did not matter that Rory had turn him down, he was determined to win her heart. Zach could tell there was some hurt there through he did not know the circumstances, He knew he had to take it slow. So I loved how he handle her with care.
Rory has her work cut out for her. She will fight the pull she feels toward Zach but it will be useless. I loved how the clan was there when needed.
There are some pretty funny parts to this story. My favorite being when Rory first met of a bear. Sorry you will have to read the book to find out more.
Things will get hot and heavy between Rory and Zach and of course you will get your HEA. This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

What A Bear
I really enjoyed Zach and Rory's story. He was so patient with her. I wish she would have witnessed his bear. That is what was lacking for me.
Zach works at the club of his clan. He is very tense a particular night and he doesn't understand why but as he moves across where the dance floor he is in extreme shock at what he sees.
Rory just got through a very abusive relationship. And in her mind no man is going to dominate her life anymore so when this hunk of a guy comes over and wants to take her out she says thank you but no thanks. And here is where the whirlwind romance starts .
