My billionaire boss needs me to do something absolutely crazy. He wants me to pretend we’re engaged. But I can’t say no, or he’ll lose his daughter and I’ll lose my job. Fine then. I’ll wear his stupid ring. I’ll be the perfect fiancée for one month. There’s only one problem. I don’t want to stop pretending. Housekeeper for a stunningly handsome, male-model billionaire? Yep, that’s my job and it’s as dreamy as it sounds. I get to live in his ridiculously huge mansion, and all I have to do is take care of his mom and daughter, who are practically family. To top it off, the notoriously bossy Mr. King has been away for business since I started. But he came home today. Liam King looks like he stepped out of a GQ magazine, and the way he undresses me with his eyes should be illegal. He ignites my body. Every part of it. But It doesn’t matter how tempting he is. I can’t have him. I can’t risk my job. Even if a guy like him was actually interested in a twenty-two year old virgin like me, I can’t give in. I’ve been in enough relationships to know how they all disaster. And if I lose my job, I lose the closest thing to a family I’ve had since my mother passed. But a fake engagement doesn't really count as a relationship… Right? **This is a full-length, standalone fake marriage romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and as always, Happily Ever After guaranteed. **

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SLIGHT SPOILERS. This is a crazy far-fetched read its a 'go along for the ride' kind of book, that said it's entertaining if you're looking for a quick easy read. Aubrey is working as caretaker for the billionaire Mr Liam King her job is to look after his mother and daughter. She's not met her boss yet but she's expecting someone a lot older and less attractive than he turns out to be. Aubrey is fighting her attraction to Liam because she really needs this job but Liam doesn't make it easy for her. Liam's mother Roxanne is a feisty and funny lady and his daughter Sophie is enchanting in an old beyond her years kind of way. Aubrey's ex-boyfriend Jake is OTT and Liam's ex-wife Julianne left OTT way behind her, she's more like a carton villain. It's all crazy. Julianne, who's never looked twice at Sophie wants money or full custody but it's not a problem since Liam is a billionaire and can hire the best private detectives and legal team available. But he doesn't (I know it would be a very short book) instead he proposes a fake marriage to Aubrey and she agrees. Jake is always in the wrong/right place, Julianne is confident and crazy add to the mix an unbelievable Child Protective Services woman who couldn't be more paid for if she was walking around with 'property of Julianne' tattooed on her forehead. You know how it goes and I like I said it's a nice quick easy read.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the author.
Not the best story ever. Started off good and then it just got into some tangled web. A crazy stalker ex-boyfriend. A mean and out of cash ex-wife. A blunt and kinda mean grandmother. A weird and far too advanced 5 year-old. Way too many factors in this book.
In no way can I recommend this book - but come on, what do you think you’re getting into with a title like this? The entire thing was bonkers from start to weird finish. I want to shake it from my brain.
Liam and Aubrey enjoy a very real love story cleverly disguised as a fake relationship
I absolutely loved the fact that Aubrey had been so much in love with Liam's family members before she even got to meet him. Roxanne, Liam's Mother, reminded Aubrey of her mother. She's a good bit, perhaps prickly, to most people, but Aubrey understands that this is just her way of making a connection between them. Besides, Aubrey knows it's just hard for some to express their feelings and this, this just endears her to Aubrey all the more. It's as if she helps Aubrey carry a piece of her mother with her- Aubrey feels like she's gaining a family with Roxanne and precocious Sophie. Sophie's intellect and wit are refreshing! She's elementary school age, but going on 30 yrs. old. She's a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Liam returned home after a month out of the country for work. He tells himself, he will spend less time on work and more time with Sophie. Much to Liam's amusement, who should he be introduced to upon entering the house? Aubrey of course.
It's been years since Julianne's had any interest in her daughter, so if she really wants to meet up to discuss being a part of They never made it as far as dinner, nor anything for that matter. Liam cut to the chase and asked her what she was thinking. It was all a ploy to get Liam's ear and wallet. Julianne wants money or she'll take Sophie away from him. He tells her good luck and is out the door.
Aubrey is with Liam when he has to take a phone call. Aubrey asks Liam to tell her what it was about, maybe she could help. He tells her that he needs a wife in thirty days. His lawyers believe it is the only way he'll be able to keep his daughter Sophie. Aubrey says maybe it may be enough to have a fake fiancée. Liam and Aubrey are now engaged to be married. They hadn't said anything about it to Sophie, so when she hears it, she takes off to her room mad. She tries to give Aubrey the cold shoulder, but it doesn't last long. She really loves Aubrey, as Aubrey is the only one (outside of the family) that gets her.
Never expecting anything to come from Julianne's threats, CPS was at his door and in his home making frivolous accusations against him inventing non-existent issues to prove him and his household unfit for Sophie. It's no wonder his lawyer's came up with the idea of Liam getting married to show a stable environment for Sophie while he's away from home for extended periods of time. His business sometimes has him gone for up to a month at a time. It's not always that way, but he's always been driven and that explains why he is a billionaire. He's good at what he does.
It's not long before Liam and Aubrey's "fake" becomes oh so real. Life is not going to be without problems, oh no! There's still Aubrey's ex-boyfriend, the psycho that isn't going to go away easily. Julianne's threats, CPS, a whole lot of crazy and finally crazy good to give Liam and Aubrey (Sophie, Roxanne) all the love anyone could ever hope for.
So very beautiful, funny, crazy bad, crazy good and all just one click away for you too. -Aunt Bee
I quite enjoyed the scene in the book when they meet at the local grocery store each reaching for the same box of mac and cheese. : Oh yeah, the electricity generated by the mere touch of the other. The interest each of them could see in the other's eyes. Aubrey was good at looking away from him, but the man was interested. When Liam's ex-wife wants more money from Liam and is willing to try take his daughter- game over, Liaier
The book was alright. I enjoyed the scenes best with the precocious Sophie and cantankerous Roxanne than that of the crazy scenes with Liam and Aubrey dealing with Jake. Liam is supposed to be this big smart mogul and yet he has no common sense to call the cops after the first run in with Jake. And Aubrey also has her head in the sand by not trying to get a restraining order after he assaults her in the restroom. How is it that the smartest person in the book is 5 year old Sophia? As for the romance... Well it was rushed and very little of it because it was really more center on lust. Not enough build up. I've read worse but I hoped for more after the first few chapters. The book started strong but then started to fizzle and just ended with me feeling annoyed with some of the storyline's plot holes. I suggested this book to my cousin after the first few chapters I had read because at that point it seemed like a book she would enjoy. Maybe she will like it more than I did despite the story's plot hole.
Aubrey is caretaker for Roxanne, who is wheelchair bound and reminds her a lot of her own mother who has passed. She also cares for Sophie, Roxanne's granddaughter. Liam, Sophie's father and Ross he's son has been away on business since she has been working there.
The attraction between Liam and Aubrey is instant and strong when they meet. I love how Aubrey fights it because she wants to keep her job and her affection for her charges.
When they team up to help Liam keep his daughter from his irresponsible, money hungry ex-wife, they are unable to contain their feelings! Toss in a crazy, stalking ex boyfriend, a prejudiced social worker, and you have a very interesting story that keeps you engrossed right up to the epilogue!
I listened to the audio version in Kindle Unlimited.
Another great book by one of my favorite authors. Well written with great characters, drama, some plot twists and turns, humor, and of course... a HEA.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
I really want to give this more like the other readers. Unfortunately I think I read something different. This book had several stories bundled in it. The first one was so over the top unbelievable that I was turned off. When it finished I was seriously considering being done with the book. I started the next story and it was slightly better but still unbelievable. I know this is fiction. Make believe. I get that, though sadly, this is where I part ways.
I really love this author and tried this one bc it had the audible version as well through KU. However, this one was written with a few too many holes. ***SPOILERS*** I know how these authors always make their heros billionaires even though the background stories would never result in such a thing without inheriting most of it. So I've accepted that. But if your MC is a billionaire, he would use his wealth to fix his problems. Even though they are in a massive house with wings, the h's ex is able to get all the way to the back window at night without tripping an alarm. Also, a billionaire would hire security guards to protect his h and family. And, the h is repeatedly the victim of aggravated stalking and attempted rape and she never goes to he police until the H is stabbed. Then the police imply the H is actually the abuser and not the crazy stalker (despite three other witnesses saying the opposite), which would mean the police are saying the H would have stabbed himself?! Somebody that rich would have the police chief and city commissioners on speed dial, there is no way they wouldn't believe him in this situation. Finally, the custody battle really irked me as being just too unrealistic. No one is concerned about the best interests of the child and it was just aggravating to read. Courts do favor mother's but a billionaire would be way better at fighting back (or just paying the woman off for goodness sake) when his kid is on the line. (See also, 3 day carnival cruise for commoners, buffet, sex out in the open in public on a boat w 5000 ppl). The most realistic of everything I guess would be a rich father leaving his kid for months at a time. I believe that a real billionaire who didn't inherit all his wealth might do that bc his life would be all work if he actually had to earn most of it. I really like this trope even though the whole employee employer relationship obvi is tricky power dynamics, I can still suspend disbelief to see a couple who could maybe still be equal in their relationship. But when there's so much unimaginable things occuring, the pill's too big to swallow.
Single Dad's Virgin is a contemporary romance about a single dad billionaire, Liam King, and the virgin caretaker of his mother, Aubrey. This story is filled with cute/funny moments, steamy sexual scenes, and some crazy exes going berzerk.
A few words about the plot: Liam King traveled a lot for his work so he decided to hire a caretaker for his mother and daughter to keep them company. When he came back home he met Aubrey (the caretaker) and they had an instant attraction. She tried to fight the chemistry they had by fear of losing her job but he was determined to make her his. When his ex-wife tried to take his daughter away, they came up with the fake wife plan, and Aubrey filled that position as well. With all the craziness that came up with the court fights those two came closer and ended up being a real family.
This is a great book with so many surprises, angsty moments, and a beautiful happy ending. The characters are amazing, I liked Liam and Aubrey but my favorite by far were the mother, the little girl, and Donna. They were so unique and fun. My favorite parts were of Liam's games and the epilogue. I enjoyed reading this book and I will rate it with 4 stars.
I really, really, really wanted to enjoy this story. I loved the characters and was rooting for Liam and Aubrey from the beginning. The characters were great, and there were some really funny lines and scenes. Unfortunately some parts of the story spoilt it for me and because of that I couldn't finish the story. Firstly, Liam is meant to be this amazingly intelligent, rich businessman yet he doesn't have a top lawyer working for him. He has a home and land to rival the Playboy Mansion yet he has no security. This go-getting, intelligent, super businessman never thought of hiring a private detective to help fight his case. Then, Aubreys ex assaults her and another man then gets onto Liams unsecured property and bricks a window the police are never called. And to top it off, the most fake Social worker turns up and this amazingly intelligent businessman never smells a rat. All of this ruined it for me. I hope others for more enjoyment in it than I did!
I don’t know why I torture myself reading books of this nature. I don’t generally like them, and I never like them enough to rate them higher than three stars. I found it unbelievable in this age of technology that the housekeeper wouldn’t know what her rich boss looked like even though she’d never met him. I know if I’d been in her shoes I’d have looked him up. That’s just the way this starts though. She’s at the store shopping when she accidentally runs into and flirts with her boss, not knowing he’s her boss until he arrives where she works a little after she does. On top of that, he proposes a fake marriage to get his ex-wife off his back. It doesn’t seem believable, and I wanted to slap the girl for being naïve and tell her the fake marriage was more so he could get into her pants than anything else. It irritated me.
Let me start by saying this is a quick, enjoyable read. The characters are very easy to like, and I'm a sucker for a single dad romance. I love Liam's loyalty, responsibility, protective nature. I also love Aubrey's kind heart, breezy and pleasant personality, and ability to get along with everyone. Roxanne is a rolling force of nature, and Sophie is a sweet, precocious 5th grader with a whole lot of personality and a sarcastic, mischievous streak a mile wide. So far so good. However....
I also have many issues with this book....despite the great characters. I think the shortness of the story really does a disservice to the characters and plot. I WILL defend something though that I have seen other people reviewing this book complain about. SOPHIE IS NOT A 5 YEAR OLD! She is in 5th grade! That makes her 10 or 11. I read several reviews where people talked about how unrealistic her maturity was for her age. One said, (and I am paraphrasing here) that it was sad that the smartest person in the story was the 5 year old daughter. Re-read the book. She was not 5. However....though I can't recall Liam's actual age being mentioned, the way he is described and everything put him in his early to mid 30s. HOW does he have a 92 year old mother? (Roxanne's age WAS mentioned.) Was she 60 when she had him? That is the age math I am having the most trouble with.
Liam King loves nothing more than rebuilding business flops into powerhouses of the industry but it takes him away from his daughter for weeks and months at a time. He continually promises it will be the last time but the next big project takes him away again and again. He provides for his daughter and mother with excellent caretakers to lessen the blow of him being gone. Aubrey is in a long line of caretakers hired by Liam. She loves her job and glad to be away from her old life. Aubrey goes shopping for some groceries especially Crisco. Aubrey gets hit on by a handsome stranger but stands up to him for inappropriate comments. Little did either of them realize their lives are about to change in ways neither of them could prepare for. Liam's ex-wife is blackmailing Liam for more money but he refuses to give it to her hoping she'll change for the better. Will Liam allow himself to be blackmailed? Why does Aubrey interest Liam so? Your answers await you in Single Dad's Virgin.
The story and characters are complex, raw, real, complicated, flawed, rich, bold, honest, hopeful, intriguing, and sweet. Bloom's writing style is expressive and emotionally too. I'm sucked into the story before I have a chance to think about from first to the last page.
Ok. Not sure if it was supposed to be, but this book was hilarious. Great character build up from the beginning. Aubrey is a home health worker for Roxanne, Liam's mother and she also kind of takes care of his daughter as well, who's in the fifth grade. Liam is constantly out of town in business. There are TWO meet cutes, if you can believe it and it's hilarious. Having not personally hired her, Liam has not seen her yet so imagine his surprise, when she shows up in his house. There's instant attraction with the two. Side note… Liam's daughter and mother are the stars of this book. They were hilarious. I could not stop laughing at the things they said and did. In this book there are two antagonists and what do you know they are both exes. Julianne, Liam's ex-wife who had not made an effort to spend time with it see their daughter and Jake, Aubrey's, who feels that her virginity is his God given right and will stop at nothing to get it. Both show up up out of the blue, Jake wanting Aubrey back and Julianne wanting money. I love how the author had both leading characters come together and protect the little girl. And the shenanigans Julianne and Jake get up to to get their way… I was just in awe thinking, what other weird things are sitting in your mind. Really great book.
Aubrey is a 24 year old virgin saving herself for the right guy. She has an ex who is stalking her and threatens her with violence. She’s currently working for Liam King a billionaire as the caretaker for Roxanne his handicapped feisty mother and his 10 year old daughter. Liam ‘s ex wife wants nothing to do with Sophie their daughter but she wants money and will do anything to get it. The story revolves around Liam’s attraction to Aubrey, Liam’s ex wife’s manipulation of child protective services, and others and Aubrey’s exes attempts at getting to her to hurt her. The entire story resolves quickly in the last chapters and is prolonged in the epilogues. There is a semblance of non reality when a very rich man doesn’t hire a security service to protect his family from a stalker or take legal action against a stalker. Or why didn’t he hire his own detective to look into his ex wife, but that wouldn’t be this story then. So why 4 stars? The dialogue is good . The author captures personalities well and there is chemistry between the h/h. So the story is a quick read and a fun ride to see how they cope with all the obstacles to their HEA.
I don’t know what was worse: the writing or the female audio reader.
Writing: So, so OOT and unrealistic
*For a billionaire, it sure is easy to get onto his property and assault him and his family *For a billionaire, he sure is passive when it comes to his fiance being assaulted *For a billionaire, or honestly just a dedicated dad, he sure is passive when it comes to the threat of TAKING HIS KID AWAY *”Waiting until marriage to have sex important to me” (less than 24 hours later). “Never mind” *CPS case worker is on our cruise? Let’s go ahead and have public sex. *Getting assaulted, stalked, and property damage? No police involvement necessary. *Why would this FL custody battle have a jury? *Nobody is funny. It’s so incredibly awkward when humor is attempted.
I could go on, but I’ll stop there.
Female Audio Reader:
She sounded like a glitchy robot. The amount of pausing in between sentences, words, and even syllables of words themselves made her sound like a choppy AI voice.
Note: Male audio reader was fine.

Liam King seems to have everything going for him. He is rich and knows how to make money, has a beautiful daughter, lives in a mansion with his daughter and his mother. Roxanne (the mother) is in her 90's and in a wheel chair but she adds a great deal of humor to the story from demanding food cooked with Crisco to thinking about hiring hit men.
Sophie, his daughter is sweet, smart and is the love of Liam's life until he meets the new caretaker he hired while he was away on one of his business trips. Aubrey is special and both Roxanne and Sophie love her, so this caregiver makes a big difference in all of their lives.
The problems come from Roxanne, his ex-wife (Sophie's mother) and Jake (Aubrey's ex-boyfriend) as they commit crimes to make Liam and Aubrey look bad in the custody battle for Sophie. I love happy endings and Single Dad's Virgin moves from fake to real and a sunny beach for a special ending.
So I read this book thinking it was The Dom's Virgin by Penelope Bloom... because that's the book I'd checked out of Kindle Unlimited. Obviously, it had been a while since I read the blurb for the book, because I didn't immediately get that it was the wrong book. Instead, I kept waiting for... the Dom. While I wondered why there was so much focus on the hero's daughter. That part is on me-I would not normally choose this trope, and I should have given up on this book rather than slogging through.
Both characters are shallow, the evil ex-wife is unbelievably terrible, and it's like Liam doesn't know how to use his fortune? Single Dad's Virgin is all over the place and the plot just did NOT work for me. (I can forgive terrible plots if the focus is the trashy romance aspect, but there's all of one scene in this book, so that doesn't really track, either.)
Skip this one and pick up one of Ms. Bloom's more recent novels instead.
I kind of loved this story. I liked that there was a total element of surprise to it. There was also a lot of comedy. The mother in the wheelchair cracked me up. And then all the other craziness happening! I absolutely LOVED Liam! But I am going to be honest. He tries to get freaky with her once and she says she wants to save herself, and he was ok with putting on the breaks because he didn't want to mess things up with her.... Cool great guy! But then that very same night they end up having sex.... without him asking her if she was sure this was what she wanted, or acknowledging that he had just said earlier that she wasn't ready. Some of the things that were happening with the custody battle and such were a little on the extreme side.... but then again you are talking about people that have more money than they know what to do with.... so 🤷♀️ . Totally recommend for people who like single dads and fake relationships!
## FABULOUS. I really enjoyed this book. I thought Aubrey and Liam were fantastic together. Their chemistry was HOT. There were funny moments, emotional moments, and sexy times. I loved BOTH the hero and the heroine, which I can so rarely say. Was it weird that the billionaire didn't have bodyguards for his fiancé after all the violent incidents with the ex boyfriend? Uh, yeah. Was it weird that they didn't have a restraining order against him? Uh, yeah. Was it weird that there were no cameras in this multi million dollar mansion? Heck, yes. And was it weird that there was a jury during a custody hearing? Again, of course. Okay, so there were a few plot holes. But I could overlook them because the rest was so good. I truly enjoyed this fun story. I found myself smiling while reading and I love that.
I really loved the playful banter that surrounds Liam and how it always seems like he reacts before he actually thinks about the situation. Aubrey falls right into him though I love how Roxanne told her to make him work it and and too give as good as you get; and Aubrey definitely makes Liam work for it!!
The only thing that that put me off from giving 5 stars was the unrealistic turn of events that Julianne caused; for instance Lindy from Child Protective Services...come on I saw that coming a mile away and why wouldn’t Liam have asked more questions when it came to that snake!? He’s a wealthy man with the world at his finger tips so you’d think that he would have looked into another social worker or to have them also investigate Julianne!! But other than that little tid bit I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline!!!
