A good shorty to pass the time. Being a shifter book it has instant love since the H recognizes the h as his true mate at first site. This is a Shifter/human pairing and both are virgins. Shifters do not have sex unless mated, so this is a safe read. The shifters can choose a mate since true mates are rare, but it's mentioned that they can still meet their true mate even after they mate a chosen. That could be a concern if the author continues the series since she has a few in the tribe that are chosen mates. I didn't like that the H has to compete for her since she was his true mate...what's the point of that? The H did decide to stop that practice later in the story. Overall, a good read.

Severely underwhelming. Spoilers Ahead.

$1.99 on Kindle. You can get tons of better books for .99 cents.

Lotsa Grammatical errors.

And the heroine bothered me. She meets the Tribe Chief, then agrees (or just lets herself be steered and her decisions made for her) to live at the Chief's house for the time being. Chief says they will do a ceremony to welcome her - lol no it's actually her mating ceremony. Men fight for her including the chief, they hunt and dance for her to choose a mate. And she chooses the chief. They go home to have some sexy times. Remember, this all happened in 1 night and throughout the entire thing the heroine never made a single decision (except to choose the chief to "be her mate" - as if mating was a normal occurrence at "welcoming ceremonies"). She just...goes with the flow....You go to a tribe to study them and then BOOM you're mated to the chief in less than 12 hours.

Also bothered by the fact that the chief mated her without telling her what being mated means - and the fact that he is actually a wolf shifter. Hero is unflatteringly cunning - almost like a villain, actually. Hero is sweet, though. He gives good sexy times according to the heroine - but he is also savage and selfish.

Let’s suspend belief that there is a native tribe in Colorado that has just been “discovered “, and they and hot and have no females.
Ok.
It is harder to ignore the writing errors in this book. They are a plenty. And the writing is very simplistic. It seems written by an AP high school student or perhaps a novice writer.
However, it is a cute story with sizzle.

This is a fated mates book with instant attraction and the passion moves very fast!
Of course it has the standard… virgin male makes virgin female cum… first time out of the gate. Which always annoys me. Have you ever met a virgin.. they don’t last nor know what they are doing.
At least this book users inner monologue to explain … how.. why.. he is doing it.

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5
Innocence in losing it: 2/5
Build up to losing it: 2/5
Hotness of losing it: 3/5
Busted touching himself: no
POV of losing it: male

Very good short story

I loved this short story. It is very sweet and I hope that the twins in the story get their own book. There is a bit of violence in this book but it is an alpha protecting his mate. I had originally read this book through kindle unlimited, but I loved it so much I went ahead and purchased it. I have read it several times now.
