Dave's still alive, and even he can't believe it. But the apocalypse is in full swing, and he's got a whole world full of squids to contend with if he's going to make it back to Gabby and the others. This time around he meets a few new "friends" he'll need to depend on to stay safe. Dave and his new friends will find themselves plunging deep into a mine to escape the Terrameds, but if they thought it'd be a safe escape then they're in for a rude awakening. There're more than just a few squids to fight this time!
While I don't have the same love for Dave that I do for Wise's other series and characters, the writing is so good that I refused to put it down. If you were lukewarm on the first one I highly suggest reading how the insane apocalypse escalates. This apocalypse is ripe for weird, yet surprisingly realistic situations that feel fresh and original. Dave is so unprepared for being a hero, that it's entertaining to watch him slowly step up to that plate.
This author can make you laugh and then make you sad all in one chapter. This is the second book about Dave and the apocalypse. I, for one, will be waiting anxiously for Dave's next go-around with the dangers of the apocalypse.
Give your mind a few laughs and read the two "Dave" books. You will be thanking me
