Love & Happiness: A collection of personal reflections and quotes
Things fall apart. And they break sometimes. Like many of you, my journey hasn't always been easy. Pain is very real. And so is loss.
Sometimes it's hard not to let the weight of what we carry--or the memory of what we've lost--take over. Many of us know the reality
of struggle, and so many people suffer in silence. It's hard. It's hard not to give up when we face the repeated disappointments
of life. Like some of you, I've known loneliness. I've known defeat. I've fallen many times chasing mirages, and broken many bones
making castles in life's fading sands. Sometimes, all it took was one solid wave to destroy what I had spent years building.
So I decided to give it a voice. All of it: the tears, the pain. And the lessons. The things I saw and learned and gained along my life
path needed a voice. I wanted to give back, in hopes of helping myself and others survive. But then it wasn't just about surviving.
I didn't just want people to survive inside their storms. I wanted people to thrive inside their storms. And so I wrote, as I walked through my own.
The words found in this book became my voice and my letter to the world. They became my deepest attempt to, not just pick myself up, but others along the way. I wrote because, just as we will fall in life, so will we rise. That's the thing about this world. It never gives us only one kind of path. There is pain. Yes. And loss. And even darkness. But there is also light. There is hope. There is
beauty.
And there is also love and happiness.

Love & Happiness , a quotes for everyday struggles and challenges , Wise words with beautiful photographs which makes it a pleasant to read. As you read them you feel how those words comes out from pure heart with faced up many hard experiences that she wants you travel with her by her wisdom. Give you a wider picture of that life - she wants to say life isn't what happened in past or what happen to you right now life is a journey and happened in movement so don't stop that path lead you to God. Right it is a quick read but you would like to re-read it all over again and again.
if I choose to write down here probably I would like to re write whole book .

Full of wisdom... Not just any wisdom but the sort if you posses you will need nothing else to live right. Absolutely not a one time read and absolutely not one which you could speed read because it is deep and one whom hasn't gone through similar life experiences would hardly understand. I will call it "The Book of Truth"...

I didn't read yet her first book which is Reclaim Your Hearts but I'm able to get read this book since I borrow from my aunt when she show me this book with Yasmin Mogahed's signature. So, because of she did not get one for me (hehehe), I read this book before my aunt does. :D
Such a good book. this book makes me can't wait to buy Reclaim Your Heart. I'm currently in the dark and I need patience to success and be one more step better that He want me to be. Almost 90% of the quotes is my favorite. You will know the true Love & Happiness through this book. This book is the voice that all of us need. It's a must buy, must be in your shelf and must read!

Indulge in the book.
Reflect what's in your life and how you react towards the storms in your life.
Most likely you'll find you're focusing on the wrong thing.
When things go wrong, we tend to focus on the bad part but neglecting to focus on the blessings.
The power of gratitude is, whatever you focus on, it will grow.
So, shouldn't we focus on the blessing instead?

If you're a muslim, READ this, it helps you to reflect on yourself as a human and a muslim. This was just so beautiful.
This was such a breath-taking read. In the midst of so much chaos, the words weaved into this short book offered comfort in a stressful time. It made me reflect on my relationship with Allah. And I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this book in the journey to rediscovering myself as a Muslim.

Love & Happiness was an extremely quick read – I read it in one sitting! It is a compilation of reminders and quotes for everyday struggles and challenges. Having read and reviewed Yasmin Mogahed’s first book – Reclaim Your Heart, I would say that this second one is more like a summary of important messages from her previous book and her videos published online.
"You spent your life looking for love. But one day you will realize that it was in those moments of giving – not receiving – that you found happiness."
The book is filled with colourful pages of calming photos/graphics which makes it a very pleasant read. I strongly feel is not meant to be read just once. You should pick it up whenever you feel down or when you’re being put to a test. Its simple and straightforward advice can lift your spirits and make you feel more composed to think through your challenging situations.
"We spend so much time asking God to cure us of our hardships. But we never stop to consider that our hardships are curing us."
I would highly recommend Love & Happiness for those who do not have time to spare on Reclaim Your Heart. The previous book is definitely much, much better in terms of content depth and explanation. I personally prefer it as there is a lot more to learn and it will leave you feeling whole. But having said that, I still feel Love & Happiness is a gem of its own and we can still benefit from it.
Good as a gift too – get it for your family members and friends! I’m sure they would appreciate this little piece of treasure to dive into when they need it the most. May we all find comfort in Yasmin’s words, and may we grow stronger and more focused in our life goals in every challenge we face. 🙂

After a month keeping this book. Borrow from PPAS Jaya One Mall. 😂 I finally finished reading all the lovely words inside.
As we fall in life, so we will raise.
Beauty is the goal. Beauty of the heart. Judge every experience in life as either good or bad, not based on how much pleasure or pain it brought, but based on how beautiful or ugly it made your heart.
When the Creator is the only thing you need, there is a sweetness in loving the creation. No longer a hunger and pain.
We don't forgive to free others. We forgive to free ourselves.
Don't worry if your heart hurts today. Hearts change every day. And He is the Turner of hearts.
Peace doesn't exist outside. It can only exist inside. And the peace that is on the inside cannot be taken away by anyone. No matter what they do. No matter what they say. No matter what they threaten. If your Paradise is in your heart, no one can take it from you.

This book was OK. I didn’t love it. It doesn’t go that deep. Great little gems here and there but nothing special really.
However I can see the effort the writer put in it and thank her for this.

Amazing collection which can freshen up the mind, heart and soul of the person. Just pick 2 or 3 pages and try to understand each one of them.
You can either finish this book in a single sitting or take it along for months. If you are looking for some serious self help go with the later one.

Versi bahasa Indonesia yang saya baca dari buku ini begitu menarik saat bagian pertamanya dibuka. Dikemas secara apik, disampaikan dengan kata-kata yang sama sekali tidak menggurui. Kebanyakan hal-hal yang diutarakan Yasmin dapat memotivasi dan menjadi pengingat bagi pembacanya.
Grafis yang menjadi elemen pemanis dari setiap kutipan atau cerita pendek dalam buku ini begitu menarik hati. Namun kadang masih ada desain dari grafis pada beberapa halaman yang rasanya kurang pas.
Favorit saya dalam buku ini ada di halaman 28-29. Tidak perlu berfikir begitu dalam ketika membaca buku ini. Ambience yang dibutuhkan adalah ketenangan dan hati yang tidak risau, agar makna dari buku ini dapat tersampaikan dengan maksimal.
Sebagai penutup, saya beri sedikit kutipan dari Yasmin Mogahed:
'Hidup itu harus terus bergerak. Bertumbuh. Berubah. Hidup itu mencari dan menemukan.'

One of the best things I have ever read.
Sent to me at a particularly painful time in my life, from the Maker I believe. We're reminded through Yasmin, simple things that the heart is innately aware of, but can forget in this world - this should be read as a reminder. She writes beautifully. Simply. Struck many a chord in me. Unforgettable. I don't normally reread/rewatch, but I'll make an exception here. Life changing is not an over exaggeration, and yet she is so young still ( than me!). She will be in my prayers 🙏 I hope to be able to help someone like that one day. Allah indeed speaks/helps through others.. She's truly akin to someone like Rumi in writing. But, remember the Creator, not the creation. Pray your heart is faced towards Him. Softness is strength-I wish I'd read/ knew this years. I could go on..(!!) Jazakallah.

I loved everything about this book. Wise words with beautiful art which makes it a pleasant to read.
It always amazed me at how so little words can convey so much meaning. I loved every word in this book and almost 95% of the quotes are my favorite.
Every words/quotes can give you calmness with deep meaning and you don’t want to speed reading it. You want to read every word slowly and understand and keep it to your heart and mind.
This book also reminds the reader to reflect on the true reality of love and happiness through the real love and permanent bond between creation and our Creator, Allah. Whatever happens in life, we must seek for Allah help and forgiveness.
Definitely, I will pick up this book again whenever I feel down and need some motivation.

Islamic version of Love for The Imperfect Things.
Kalau baca Love for The Imperfect Things kita akan mendapatkan ketenangan, tapi kalau baca Love and Happiness kita dapat ketenangan sekaligus menambah kecintaan kita kepada-Nya.

Kedamaian itu bukan datang dari luar tapi dari dalam. Kedamaian yang ada di dalam diri tidak akan pernah direbut oleh siapapun, apapun yang mereka lakukan. Apapun yang mereka katakan. Apapun yang mereka lakukan untuk mengancam. Jika surga ada di dalam hati mu, tidak ada seorang yang bisa merebutnya darimu. Tetap hati-hati dengan hati agar tetap ada dalam kedamaian. Bahwa untuk mendapatkan kedamaian mulailah perbaikan sholat, inilah yang akan mengubah hidup 👊✨💛

I needed to read this
I read Reclaim Your Heart last year and I just read Love & Happiness in one sitting. I needed this. I'm going through a broken heart situation and I've been praying and this book felt like it was speaking directly to me and my situation. It brings about a sense of calm & understanding in me and I love this feeling

What a beautiful and inspirational book. Yasmin wrote in a way reminding you of our greater purpose, God's unlimited Love and leaves you with so much hope and key advise <3 Absolutely loved it and it felt like it came sincerely from her heart <3

a very soothing book...

A warming read
Some nice reminders in here and very easy to read
Hate to compare works all the time, but I have to be honest I personally found the first book much more in depth and explorative and this just felt more like a summary really, still a good read though.
