In an era booming with the 'Startup' trend and loving this newattitude of breaking boundaries and conventions of a career, one also faces the challenge of being able to partner up with the rightpeople. In lieu of reliable and trustworthy partners, real life couples inrelationships have started exploring the idea of partnering up inbusiness too!Speaking to various couple-preneurs, one realizes that the mythabout mixing work and home is just as misty as the one about needinga stable and conventional job for an ambitious career. After a series of fictions, thrillers and poems, I decided to go for this light read having a cute, cuddly animated picture of a relaxed couple and an engaging colophon briefing about the struggles and success of the couples who dared to merge their home and work.
“Super Couples” celebrates the stories of 19 couples entrepreneurs; their working methodologies, struggles and finally their success hoping that they serve as an inspiration.
“Super Couples” is written in second person perspective. The start of every story has a picture of the company founders and a small idea of their startup. Be it an arranged or a love marriage, the author is successful to depict the start of the journey as a “match-made-in-heaven” manner. She captures the struggling road to success of these couples in a simple yet effective way.
There are times when the book becomes monotonous. There are some stories especially of core IT sector which feel similar and personally, I felt more fields could had been covered and more diversity could had been included. Nevertheless, the book leaves its mark as you get inspired from one story to the other.
There are many stories that became my personal favorite. I thoroughly enjoyed “Boring Brands”, “Kitki” and many more. In fact, the moment I finished this book, I made sure I register for cashkaro.com and made a mental note of the various websites to visit next of these fabulous couples with such offstream ideas.
Overall, the author is successfully able to draw common conclusions from all these success stories such as strong belief in the idea, love, mutual support, exclusivity and teamwork amongst these various stories using statistics and numbers to seal the facts to the point some might even be tempted to start something of their own.

Each and every story in the book is notable and impressive but I managed to list my few favourite ventures which includes Artologue, Boring Brands, CashKaro.com, Florista, MYvets, Shortcircuit.in and Sweets InBox.
Why to read this book Super Couples is an encouraging read about the amazing Indian couples joining hands as business counterparts along with being life partners showing love doesn’t distract one from achieving one’s goal but it’s the greatest pillar in reaching newer heights together.

SuperCouples are a necessity in today’s world. SuperCouples by Prachi Garg is a book that contains 19 inspiring stories of couples who started a business together, stayed together through the ups & downs and created a successful venture out of thin air.
Most couples who work together to bring their dreams to life end up inspiring hundreds of others in the process. Still, it is a fact that being a business couple is tough. Taking decisions about different aspects of business and living under the same roof is a huge responsibility. As a result, respecting each other’s opinions and understanding values that they stand upon is important. Furthermore, arguing is a part of life, imagine being with your life partner in every situation including work & personal i.e 24*7. Yet, the 19 couples in the book SuperCouples by Prachi Garg keep surprising people.
Love and work can go hand in hand, when your life partner becomes your business partner. After reading Prachi Garg’s first book SuperWomen I was intrigued to read the second book asap. The second book is more surprising than the first one in the aspects of inspiration, especially for couples. If you are a couple who is about to start a business or who wants to do so in future, you must read this book. Many of the couples came as a surprise because I have been using their products since ages and never realized whose brainchild it is.
For example, SoulFlower, did you know that a couple is behind this whole home spa idea? Yep, Amit & Natasha are one such couple. If you have not tried any Soulflower products yet, I urge you please give a try to their superb range of mindblowing calming and relaxing products.
Facebook Artologue and you will find another couple beaming at you from behind the scenes. Stories and art from their travels around India in an attempt to promote art for all. Imagine making a business out of Art for all? Nice concept. Hats off to Meenakshi & Jey.
I had to drop this book at the 50% point. Totally boring and the same pattern repeats over and over again - "2 people does come college time in some prestigious institution (thats exactly what the author says - no institution name or whatsoever), universe makes them meet up one way or the other (this part isn't descriptive or interesting either), worked at the same place or something, tied the knot, one of them usually is bitten by the entrepreneurial bug (literally the same thing is said for almost all stories), they dump all their savings on to their idea trusting it, their families are fully supportive, finally now they realized their dream but this is just a start and there is a long way to go". The idea and the challenges they (the couples) faced are quickly passed over in a couple paragraphs. You can't actually empathize or feel anything at all. No aha moment.
The same section above is in each chapter - just add different names here and there, use English to beat around the bush (as in saying something in 2 pages which could've been said in 2 sentences) - thats all is there about the book. After a couple stories you feel like putting it down once and for all, but the reader inside you will still want to give the author a chance hoping you'll get something out of this (after all you are reading a non-fiction book and you need some takeaway, right? I do, at least), but finally trust me you'll throw the book midway.
Not recommended at all. Boring. Bullshit. Not inspirational - not even a bit. No takeaways whatsoever. Another book added to my 'wtf' shelf (as in wtf-did-I-just-read shelf).
I have already reviewed Prachi Garg's Super Women, a non-fiction celebrating women entrepreneurs of India. In the same league, she brings forth yet another, Super Couples, celebrating the Cupid hit businesses of India.
The book takes us through varied ventures which began with an idea, stemming from the love, trust and warmth shared by the couple, talent just came in handy. Together they begin an adventure and stop at nothing until it reaches the pinnacle of success. Prachi brings forth some unheard, ingenious yet successful business stories in this book.
As a married woman, who has had aspirations to start something of her own, this book certainly gives me the much required zeal, enthusiasm and encouragement. As you read about the struggles and the subsequent success of the couples you tend to applaud them in your mind. Their work is definitely worthy of taking notes from. I mean notes because they have already been noticed. Rarely do you come across a book which gives you immense satisfaction alongside all the positive vibes of fighting the odds and conquering the world, Prachi's pen has that might. Take a bow, Prachi.
Next up in this series is Super Siblings. And after having read two of her works, I eagerly await the next.
If you need a dose of inspiration, read these success stories, it will certainly give you major couple goals. I am sure it will help you come up with some creative venture of your own.
If someone tells that love intensifies with distance, show them the book Supercouples by Prachi Garg. Authoress has made it a point that couples can not only love each other but also work together without any ego and attain heights.
Supercouples is a collection of real life stories of couples who have had startups together and worked out each other's strengths and weaknesses for the success of their venture. Author has carefully selected the couples such that they belongs varied walk of life. One spreads the message of love and peace, other helps the artists sell their work online, other is into IT and communications, ye another helps you get cashback from top retail websites. From portals that help people make their cherished moments memorable,to encouraging weaker sections of the society, to learning solutions- Prachi has touched almost every types of businesses. The idea of helping firms sell their business is one of the most novel ones. I might not have included all but Prachi has included everything. The USP of the book is that author has depicted the love and understanding between the couples without even a paragraph about their romance or love life. The finesse with which author has made the book enjoyable is commendable. The book will be of interest to those who don't read non-fiction because the narration is quite fascinating and endearing. Author has polished her writing and developmental skills in the second book.
The concept is simple – it tells the story of 19 husband-wife couples who ventured into Business, the big bad / good, new and challenging world of Start-ups. That by itself is quite sufficient to grab attention; a couple going into business is, shall we say, a solution that most people would avoid, as it does tend to create problems. At least that is the general impression some people will have – self included. And when you hear of 19 people who have done it – your interest is decidedly peaked. That is for sure, as I can state with authority, giving my own example.
The variety of business ideas will hold deep learnings, as well as a vital re-training of your mind, enabling it to appreciate, spot and analyse the contained lessons as you are repeatedly exposed to people spotting an idea which can be developed into a successful bread-earning business. What is special is that these 19 ideas are as alike as chalk and cheese; making for a very wide breadth of exposure, which is vital in the modern day.
A must read again. Cover has been nicely designed, seems kinda catchy. Title is also good considering the story in hand. Theme is of love, relationships, trust, bond between two lovers. The book takes on a journey of lovers who are well established, talks on business point of view and perspectives. People often think that established people don't find love or don't sustain healthy relationships in their lives. Well if you think like that, think again! As this book is completely different of what you perceive in your life. This book various sections of society and the people who endure and work in it, the hardships they face, the struggles they endure and many other discussion have been portrayed beautifully. I really loved reading the entrepreneurship aspect of books and how well the author has written it. A must read for all the lovers and couples who focus on job oriented life.
This is another commendable work of non-fiction by prachi garg. Here’s the story of 19 couples, more particularly 19 entrepreneur couples story. Yes, it sounds great. When I read blurb, firstly it attracted me to read these stories. Title is catchy so do cover page, sweet and simple. Every story is very engaging and inspiring too. The stories will teach you about the family values, life and career goals, contentment and many things which will inspire you for sure. Powerful stories with powerful peoples will make you powerful to lead you own life and go on the right track. Thanks prachi garg for the amazing inspiring and life teaching book.
The concept is great, the research not so deep. The stories get repetitive beyond the first few. Also, the book could have gone deeper into the challenges the couples faced and brought out how business partnership with a spouse is a different ball game altogether. Sadly the book fails on those aspects and remains on the surface.
This book belongs to the Rashmi Bansal genre but some of the entrepreneurs selected and their stories are not very interesting and appealing. Also, the stories get repetitive after reading a couple of them.
I really loved this series. Prachi Garg has done a great job with all three. Keeping this short and simple, I’ll state the things I really liked: 1. All the different accounts were written like different short stories. And the brevity was always maintained. 2. The author has been able to make each story very entertaining without the use of much statistics and numbers. 3. As such, all three proved to be quick reads, which can be finished in one sitting. 4. The most important thing, perhaps, is the fact that all of these were so very inspiring and motivating. 5. Adding a face to each story was a good move- it made the accounts all the more personal and easy to relate to. 6. Apart from all these, the paper quality was also really good and emitted a very nice smell. As a reader, I’m sure most of my followers will love that. 7. The fact that these copies came signed was a great deal in itself. 8. These are some books that I shall definitely be going back to every now and then, when I feel the need to look for some motivation. 9. The covers are also quite catchy although some more work can definitely be done on them. 10. The themes are quite varied the most striking of which I think were those of perseverance, and hard work. Apart from that, there was also love, friendship, trust and also team work.
Super Couples by Prachi Garg is a non fiction book that talks about the stories of entrepreneurs who are couples. Cover and Title: I really loved the simple and elegant cover that serves the purpose of the book. Further, the way the author has chosen the title, it makes it meaningful. For me both are perfect. Sneak Peak:In an era booming with the 'Start-up' trend and loving this new attitude of breaking boundaries and conventions of a career, one also faces the challenge of being able to partner up with the right people.
