Writing is my passion and my mission is to provide readers with romance novels that will whisk them away into another world and from the daily grind of life - one book at a time.
Nice interesting plot. I liked the idea of anti-relationship/commitment MCs. Of cause they fell in love, yada yada yada, but the life credo of H & h in the beginning was cool :-) Many stars for the adult approach to safe sex!!! Finally we have two adults who not only discuss the topic (and not in terms of: I’m clean or I’ve never gone without condom (as if the condoms were 100% safe!!!…), but both go to the doctor and submit the results to each other. Thank you, Sandi!!! :-) And I liked the ending. It was sweet, but not cheesy, and realistic. Safety note
Nice read, but my favorite book by Sandi is still The Seduction of Alex Parker :-)
This book was a cute love story. She was raised by a mother who taught her to avoid love, he was raised by two parents who were married multiple times each. Both are cynical about the existence of true love, so they enter into a contract to enjoy their time together but not fall in love. Of course there is only one way this can go, or it wouldn’t be a romance. Predictable? Yes. But adorable like a Hallmark movie...except with a whole heck of a lot more sex. (Oh my! *whips out fan to cool blush*) Lol!
This was a quick read and was an enjoyable one. I did not have any high expectations when I started but I have obviously forgotten that the previous SL books I have read were great surprises in their simplicity.
Although this book was kind of predictable plot-wise, I was still sufficiently entertained with how both Emily and Jackson characters were written. I loved how they both confidently went into their deal with the expectation that nothing was going to change over time. They were both alphas and yet, they were also very well suited to each other's personalities. I just knew shit was going to hit the fan sooner or later and that was what I actually was most looking forward to.
I did not expect that this book was going to wring some tears from me because it was supposed to be simple and fun. But wow! That was totally unexpected right in the end. Or maybe not to some. But how the execution and storytelling was put together for a simple plot and story to come off as interestingly as it did in this book, is testament to how SL can write up a good book.
Took me a few tries to finish this book which sadly upsets me usually Sandi's books are 4 or 5 stars as they usually grab you at the beginning but this book I have given a 3 But sadly with this book I couldn't connect to Emily from the start .Story got A little better from the middle but then didn't like the ending .i know they get married happily ever after and shit but the accident and loosing the baby yeah I could of done reading a bit more of future babies .i know I can use my imagination but still would have liked to read about it just seemed incomplete and rushed. But I liked Jackson .
The Heroine was annoying and all over the page. She thinks she's better than everyone else, especially men. She hates them, doesn't do relationships. Because she could be hurt. She only goes to a few dates, then sleeps with them. And as soon as the men "fall" for her, she jumps the ship.
This was so ridicolous. Every man (other than the Hero) was a useless, ugly and clingy character. They had bellies, little pricks, didn't want to wear a condom, had feelings for the heroine, were cheaters, were bad in bed, were sloppy kissers and didn't value the female gender. I was just rolling my eyes.
And of course even the boyfriends of her very best friends were douchebags. It couldn't be avoided.
The hero was always smirking, like he had some facial control issue. Unattractive.
The prologue was just too much. I felt very uncomfortable reading this. How the mother spoke to her young child.
The sex scene with the other man didn't bother me. I just found it very disturbing that the heroine didn't put a stop to any of it. She didn't feel attracted to him (he had a belly and tiny prick) and she didn't stop him. She just let the guy use her and then she kicks him out. And finishes with her vibrator. Hello? Then what's the point of a ONS if you don't enjoy yourself? I found it gross.
I didn't read any further, but I'm 100% sure that the hero has the perfect body, with abs and is a super kisser and has a huge anaconda and she will have so many O's by him. Never could any other man from her past do that to her.

I have officially tossed Sandi Lynn into the "what was I thinking?" Pile. I've read one good book of hers and the rest have been utter rubbish. Her writing seems to get worse with each book she writes and the storylines are ridiculous. The writing in this book was really awkward and stilted and to be honest I found myself skimming through a bit of it. I'm not understanding the five star reviews for her books because they aren't worthy of that in my eyes but each to their own I guess. I won't be wasting my money on any more of her books as I don't believe she deserves it in the slightest. Best selling author my ass
This is my first book by this writer and when I realized it was only 195 pages (something longer than a novella but not as long as a decent novel length), I was a bit disappointed; however, it surprisingly made me happy :)
This book is a light read, one you can use as a nice pastime. It's hot and fun. I liked both characters.
We have a couple who are so very anti-relationship. They are so scared of commitment that they sign a contract with rules avoiding all the problems that arise in a relationship. They will just have dinner, go to movies, have sex and fun etc. No long emotional telephone conversations, no flowers or gifts, no romancing and definitely no falling in love.
They are so anti-relationship and blind that they are the last two people who realize that they are in a perfect relationship, indeed! Their friends, his sister etc all realize they have fallen in love but they stay in denial for a long time!
Of course, there are good reasons as to why they are the way they are. Emily was brought up by a mother who said relationships suck and never last so men are just for short fun. This is what she taught her daughter. She had countless men coming and going out of her life. While Emily needed a dad, her mother never gave her one, saying she didn't need one. Whenever a guy she dated fell for her, her mother left them, saying she didn't want a serious relationship. She said love would make a woman weak. Therefore, Emily believes that relationships are for suckers.
Jackson's mother is on the verge of divorcing her 4th husband and his father is divorcing his 5th wife, so Jackson rightfully hates marriage and relationships, believing that they are doomed to fail eventually!
So, when Emily and Jackson realize they have killer chemistry and mutual understanding of what a relationship should be like (i.e. devoid of emotions), they start a companionship agreement, which slowly turns into a perfect relationship - until they have to face their feelings. Both have different reactions to their feelings when they realize they love each other and there is a short separation, during which they both stay celibate.
The book is safe with no cheating. We have no OW drama. At the beginning of the book, the heroine, Emily goes on a few dates with guys and she has a sex scene with another guy but after they start this companionship with a signed contract, there is no one else for either of them.
I also appreciated that the writer stressed the importance of safe sex and made them provide each other with a health report, showing they are healthy with no diseases when they decided not to use condoms. Kudos to her for that!
All in all, I enjoyed myself reading this book. It is no epic romance, it is a simple light read but nowadays it is so hard even to find a decent light read that doesn't get on my nerves and this book did the job. It gave me a few hours of a nice time. I am sure I will forget about it soon but it served its purpose. It took my mind away from the daily stress and while I am healing at home from bruised ribs, it felt like a good pain killer :)))
Recommended only when you need a simple light book - maybe when you are commuting on the train, bus or sth or when you are waiting for your appointment somewhere and you want to kill some time!
This book was really bad. It was cringey all the way through and totally rushed. Emily annoyed me from the first page. she was a stuck up cow who thought she was gods gift. I wasn't fussed on Jackson either. the dialogue was cheesy and unrealistic and I will definitly not be reading anything else from this author again

This book was kinda cute. The couple was so anti-relationship that they didn't even realize or wanted to realize that their agreement was basically a relationship anyway. When they included the exclusive clause, I knew that they just sealed their deal. It was quite funny how everybody else saw that they were totally in relationship and they both were just in denial. XD. It was kinda silly but still a really great love story. In the end, it was all about two people who enjoyed each other companies so much that they finally admitted that they cared for each other. Everyone had their different journey to love and this was no different.
I'm a sucker for romance but this fell short. To me it read like a robot-- he did this I did that. And way too many "he smiled and winked at me". Like, waaay too much winking. It also wasn't realistic. At the end something traumatic happens and a week later they were having sex. Sorry, no way could you just have sex after that for a least a month. I couldn't get into the book or characters. I was bored and wanted to stop. Maybe you'll like it but I did not and wish I could get a refund
This book was a let down, I expected more from the story. I don't like stopping a book midway, that's the only reason why I read this whole book. The writing was just not up to standard, it seemed like a high school student wrote this story. My advice is skip this book and move to another one that is more well developed in writing and depth.
I have read a couple of books by this author because of their high rating reviews but they've all turned out to be very disappointed. Whether or not im in the minority or not, the writing is choppy and confusing at times and the storylines are just doin anything for me. Same old dialogue same old story.
Klise banget si ceritanya, bisa ketebak lah sampai ending.. ga kocak jg, biyasa aja sebenernya.. tp gw baper masa pas mendekati ending sampai berkaca, sampai ngedumel "pms keknya" tp kan mustinya belom.. yah.. saya yg cengeng saja sepertinya wkwkwkwkwkw
For Emily Wade, fairytales were best left to books and Disney movies...Emily, was raised by her mother, who always said never fall in love...it never last, it changes people and you loose yourself in it and when it ends...and it will...you'll find that you lost the better part of yourself and you'll spend the rest of your life trying to discover who you were before. Jackson Cain, successful business man and a believer of all relationships were a disaster. He witnessed his parents divorce when he was younger and watched his mother marry 4 times and his father 5 times, without regard for his feelings. Jackson, decided early on that marriage was never in the cards for him, so he would date a woman a couple of times and move on...NO Complications... Jackson and Emily, meet at her boutique for the first time, both attracted to each other, but circumstances prevented them from moving forward. Second encounter with each other was at a wedding....they each came with separate people, fate not only placed them at the same table, but had them sitting next to each other, giving them the opportunity to spew their relationship hating ways to each other and making it one of the best evenings they spent in the company of the opposite sex in a while. Jackson felt relaxed with Emily, and Emily, felt everything was uncomplicated with Jackson. So the next step for them was simple...NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT Can Jackson and Emily find love with one another or will the find completeness in the comfort of never feeling?
Oh my Sandi has done it yet again with a magnificent story.
Emily Wade is the owner of a little boutique she is pro relationships because she choose to follow in the footsteps of her mother who would go on dates but never done relationships.
Then we have Jackson Caine who is a big shot CEO of his own development company and he too is pro relationships because of his parents been divorced and his mother been married four times and his dad five times. Jackson also has a twin sister Jules who is a doctor.
One day Jackson went into Emily's shop and purchased a dress for his sister's birthday. But it wasn't till a month later their paths crossed at a wedding.
We could see the attraction between them but they didn't want the strain of been in a relationship so they say they are friends. But they weren't fooling their friends and the sex is so passionate with them.
Jackson and Emily have a few ups and down like any couple so they negotiated a contract that they will not enter into any relationship. In Emily's eyes that did not happen because she fell in love with Jackson.
When she declared her love for Jackson not only did it break their contact it also broke them. Well worth a read if I may say. Another amazing story Sandi you keep writing brilliant stories I will be reading them.
