A collection of the first four volumes in the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. Titles include Book 1 The Wishing Spell; Book 2 The Enchantress Returns; Book 3 A Grim Warning; and Book 4 Beyond the Kingdoms.
Chris Colfer is an Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actor best-known for his portrayal of Kurt Hummel on the FOX television series "Glee".
He is also a New York Times bestselling author whose books include the first three novels in the "Land of Stories" series ("The Wishing Spell", "The Enchantress Returns" and "A Grimm Warning") as well as "Struck By Lightning: The Carson Philips Journal" which is a novelization based on the script he wrote for the film "Struck By Lighting" (Colfer also co-produced and starred in that movie).
This is my favorite book ever and the thing is I don't even like fantasy, I always read murder romance books and these are still the best books ever. I recommend them to any age I had my mom read them and she loved them, so just because it says 12 and under these books are made for any age. I love Chris Colfer!
This was the book that first got me into reading. It was so long ago but sometimes when thinking back I remember that first time I felt the magic of a book and escaping reality. Which is pretty funny because that's kinda what happens to the twins in the first book but not really. I really do love these books and remember being excited when that last book came out even though I was too old to be venturing into that section in barns and nobles. I hope one day I will be able to read this book to my little sister and give her that same magical feeling when I read the book for the first time. I know my rating is baisest but i really enjoyed and probably will forever enjoy these books.
I read this book a couple of years ago around when i was in grade 5. It was honestly the first book that actually got me into reading, and provided me a sense of security and a place i could disappear to whenever i wanted to escape reality. What makes this book series so great is that it isn’t made for one specific target audience as it implements old children’s book tales but with a modern twist, pulling people in and making them want for more. I highly recommend this to anyone who would want to get into reading but doesn’t know where to begin.
I loved how Chris incorporated all of the fairy tales from my childhood. And how he portrayed the character's personalities through their actions and how they talk to each other. Along with Alex and Connor.
I also love how Alex trains to be the next Fairy Godmother in the last couple of books even though she is cursed in the last book. I also love how after the Land of Stories was out for a bit. He wrote another series and it was the origin of the Fairy Council and how they al got their names along with how they became known.
Atg the end of each book there was a cliffhanger, which made me want to immediately go out and get the next book. Or just pick it up off of my bookshelf since I had already bought the whole series once i had gotten through the first book.

This book is a mix of fairy tales and adventure. The book follows 12-year-old twins through the world of fairy tales. This series is perfect for kids 8-12 and is great for parents and kids. If you are looking for an adventure and an inside into the world after the fairy tales this is the series for you.
The Land of Stories series is one of my favorite series I have read. It had many unexpected plot twists and amazing character development with many of the characters. My favorite book in the series was the third book titled 'A Grimm Warning'. Overall, the Land of Stories series was an amazing book series that I would recommend to any reader that likes adventure and fiction.
It was a really cute series, and I loved it, but the ending just wasn't... there. Maybe I the only one who feels like this, but the last book just left me hanging. The first few books are amazing, though!
If you like fairy tales perfect book for you. Also if you want to read a long book because you already read Harry Potter or don't like it these series are perfect for you.
This is a good series. I enjoyed it a lot! BUT- THERE ARE SO MANY ITALICS. STOP USING ITALICS. PLEASE. BECAUSE I PRONOUNCE ITALICS DIFFERENTLY IN MY HEAD AND IT MAKES IT SOUND WIERD.
I think that Chris Colfer did an exellent job of keeping the series alive throughout all the books, which is a hard thing to do. I love the concept for Land of Stories; it's such a fun idea!
